Greeny is a 1959  Gibson Les Paul Standard, named after its first famous owner, Peter Green  in 1964-65. He used it during his time in John Mayall and Fleetwood Mac before selling it to Gary Moore  in the early 1970s. Moore used the guitar throughout his career, both as a solo artist and in bands. Due to financial troubles, he was forced to sell it in 2006, after which it passed through several private collectors and guitar dealers. In 2014, Greeny was acquired by Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, who has since used it both in the studio and during live performances.

A lucky collector will be able to purchase one of Louis’ white label vinyls through auction to benefit the Brit Trust. [Article]

The White Label Auction in Aid of The BRIT Trust – the world’s only known auction of “white label” test pressings – takes place next week on Tuesday, 6th June 2023. This year it will have more than 200 lots of highly collectible ‘white-label’ test pressings – the most offered in the four editions of the auction to date since it began in 2019.

The online/on-site auction is once again being hosted by music memorabilia and vinyl records specialists Omega Auctions from their Newton-Le-Willows (Greater Manchester) base. The full catalogue can be accessed here.

Fans and collectors can bid from a huge selection of white label test pressings that rarely come to market, with some even signed by the artists such as The Cure, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, New Order, and Wilko Johnson.

The UK’s record labels led by Universal Music UK, who founded the event with the BPI, along with BMG, Domino Recordings, Cherry Red, Sony Music Entertainment UK, Warner Records and others, each year join forces to curate a broad selection of white label auction lots to raise funds for the vital work of music industry charity The BRIT Trust – which promotes education and wellbeing through music and the creative arts to support causes that include the BRIT School and Nordoff and Robbins.

In January the BPI reported that vinyl albums had recorded a 15th year of consecutive growth in the UK, with over 5.5m LPs purchased in 2022. This rising demand for vinyl has in turn resulted in a growing archive of white label test pressings – so called because there is no sleeve artwork at this early stage – which record labels produce ahead of the full release of an album to ensure its audio quality. With only a handful produced, these first-off-the-press copies are snapped up by collectors on the rare occasions they become available, as evidenced by the huge interest in the three White Labels Auctions to date, which between them have raised around £100,000.

Greeny es una guitarra Gibson Les Paul Standard de 1959, llamada así por su propietario original, Peter Green, quien la usó mucho durante su tiempo en John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers y Fleetwood Mac, antes de vendérsela a Gary Moore a principios de la década de 1970. Moore usó la guitarra a lo largo de su carrera, tanto como solista como en otras bandas, como Thin Lizzy. Debido a problemas económicos, se vio obligado a venderla en 2006 al comerciante de guitarras Phil Winfield por entre 750.000 y 1,2 millones de dólares. tras lo cual posteriormente pasó por varios coleccionistas privados y comerciantes de guitarras. En 2014, la guitarra fue adquirida por el guitarrista de Metallica Kirk Hammett, quien desde entonces lo ha usado considerablemente tanto en el estudio como durante las presentaciones en vivo.

Hannibal - un film qui coupe la faim

Petite remontée dans le temps cinématographique avec le film culte Hannibal.

Hannibal est un véritable thriller sorti en 2001 réalisé par Ridley Scott qui est une adaptation du roman éponyme de Thomas Harris paru seulement 2 ans auparavant.

L’histoire se déroule une dizaine d’année avant Le Silence des agneaux où la jeune enquêtrice étudiante Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore) a été confronté à ce serial killer cannibale au sang froid.

Dans cette seconde partie, le docteur Lecter, qui avait réussi à s’échapper se refait une vie dans la ville de Florence et il est même devenu conservateur du la bibliothèque du Palazzo Capponi. Place qu’il a obtenu suite à la disparition bien mystérieuse de son prédécesseur (une petite envie de manger Docteur)

Il est confronté aujourd’hui à une chasse à son encontre. Son ancienne victime, le milliardaire Maison Verger n’a qu’une envie : la vengeance. C’est là qu’intervient le retour de Clarisse Starling. Car pour mener à bien sa vengeance, il va l’utiliser comme appât pour faire sortir Hannibal Lecter de sa tanière.

Tout se petit monde va se retrouver pour un bon repas d’explication… Une véritable chasse à l'homme avec un univers toujours aussi angoissant avec une interprétation particulièrement réussie des principaux protagonistes. - Bien entendu, cela n'engage que celui qui écrit ces lignes. Mais attention, le précédent opus Le silence des agneaux est à mes yeux bien meilleur - sûrement l'absence d'idée préconçue au moment de sa sortie.

Au niveau de la distribution de ce film angoissant, on retrouve en haut de l’affiche, Anthony Hopkins sous les traits d’Hannibal Lecter et la promue enquêtrice du FBI est interprétée par Julianne Moore.

A címben szereplő mondattal vezette fel Henrik Freischlader a ’Bring Back The Time Tour 2023’ elnevezésű Európa-turnéja 32. koncertjét, amely Magyarországon már a 13. eddigi fellépése volt, beleértve a 6 ’Gary Moore Emlékest’-vendégszereplést is. De ne menjünk ennyire előre, mert a koncertkörútra elkísérte Markuz Walach, az egyszemélyes zenekar, akinek félórás műsorát maga Henrik konferálta fel nagyon szimpatikus hozzáállással.

A Magyarországon első alkalommal fellépő Markuz zenei pályája valamikor 2007-ben kezdődött egy többéves dirty rock kalanddal, de az első album után rátalált a saját útjára, és a professzionális utcazenész létet választotta, ha egyáltalán létezik ilyen kategória. Akusztikus gitár, harmonika, mindenféle ütőhangszerek és egy loop station segítségével varázsol elő többszólamú harmóniákat és kórusokat blues és boogie alapokon, az azóta megjelent 3 lemeze már ebben az irányban haladva készült el.

Nálunk is ebből a világból adott egy ötszámos ízelítőt, de az összes dal valami kiadásra váró anyaghoz tartozhat, mert a diszkográfiájában egyiknek sincs nyoma. Az ütőhangszer maga a gitár volt – amúgy Tommy Emmanuel-módra – ehhez jött az ének, a herfli, a slidegyűrű egy kis delta-feelinggel és loopokkal megtámogatva.

A negyedik dalnál úgy voltam vele, hogy tényleg érdekes a produkció, meg minden, de ennek a „one man band” felállásnak azért vannak korlátai a változatosságot illetően. Markuz mintha gondolatolvasó lett volna, mert előállt a Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone-nal, amit eredetileg az Undisputed Truth nevű Motown-banda adott elő 1972-ben, azóta több mint 100 feldolgozást ért meg. Markuz Walach két kanállal újragondolt változata magasan a műsora kiemelkedő darabja lett zárásként.

Henrik Freischlader magyarországi története 2012 tavaszán kezdődött az első ’Gary Moore Emlékest’ kapcsán, ugyanis olyan jó fogadtatásban részesítette a megboldogult PeCsa közönsége, hogy még azon az őszön visszatért hozzánk a saját zenekarával. Azóta még öt alkalommal beszállt a Gary Moore emléke előtt tisztelgő eseménybe művészként, illetve különböző formációival további öt önálló koncertet adott nálunk, ebből egyszer a Szigeten.

Gibson Les Paul 1959 Reissue fel, és Markuz Walach érdekes műsora után valami nagyon-nagyon más következett, rögtön az ígért „nagyon régi” kategóriából, a The Blues a legelső albumról. Ha szabad ilyen sértésszámba menő hasonlatot alkalmazni, akkor operett után operára váltottunk. Ekkor már szépen tele volt a nézőtér, ami egyrészről köszönhető annak, hogy a múlt héten a vasárnap is szombatra esett, meg főleg annak, hogy Henriknek komoly rajongóbázisa alakult ki hazánkban az eltelt 11 intenzív év alatt. A zenei kíséretet Moritz Fuhrhop (Hammond orgona), Armin Alic (basszusgitár) és Hardy Fischötter (dob) biztosította, mindannyian dolgoztak már Henrikkel, ha van power trio, akkor az ő felállásuk pedig power quartetnek számít az erőteljes megszólalásával, az Analog évekkel ezelőtti zűrös megszólalása pedig már a múlté.

„Köszönöm” – ahogy illik attól, aki hazajár hozzánk –, Gibson le, Fender Stratocaster fel és jött a funkos ihletésű Free az „újak” közül, azaz a tavalyi lemezről, de sokkal jobban állt Henriknek az ezt követő „nagyon régi” Disappointed Women a lüktetésével, az első komolyabb szólóval és a hammondos elszállással. A tavalyi Given Groove menetelését húrszakadással végződő újabb gitárszárnyalás követte a New Beginningen keresztül, én ezektől a szárnyalásoktól érzem magam jól Henrik koncertjein.

A Share Your Money R&B-hangulata után varázslat volt az újrahúrozott The Question Gary Moore nyomdokain haladva, olyan tisztelet érezhető a dalból a néhai mester iránt, amire nincs szó. A House In The Woods elsodort, a Keep Playin’ funkja hozott egy kis wah-wah hullámzást Hammonddal megbolondítva, aztán a Got It Made szólója köröket vert a lemezváltozatra.

Az est egyik fénypontja volt a The Sky Is Crying, amely az idén megjelent ’Little Big Beat Studio Live Session 2023’ koncertalbumon szerepel, de eredetileg az Elmo James And His Broomdusters dala 1960-ból. Kb. 70 hivatalos feldolgozása ismert olyan kutyaütőktől, mint pl. Albert King, Eric Clapton, George Thorogood, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter, Etta James, de főként Gary Moore, akinek emlékestjein is visszatérő nóta. Azok a szólók mindent vittek…

Innen már nem lehetett elveszteni a meccset, de jött a Breakout tekerésbe hajló Hammond-párbaja, ami után levonult a színpadról Moritz Fuhrhop billentyűs, majd a szólóját követően Armin Alic basszer, aztán az egyenjogúság jegyében tolt egy érdekesnek nehezen nevezhető dobszólót Hardy Fischötter is, végül zárszóra újra színpadra lépett a teljes zenekar.

A gigantikus hosszúságú ráadás Bad Dreamsben viszont olyat villantott Henrik Freischlader, ami tényleg Gary Moore szellemét varázsolta az Analog színpadára. Semmi azonosság, csak a feeling, de az nagyon.

Según el Sun de Vancouver, la organización contaba ahora con 8.000 «miembros activos». 13 ramas «muy activas» distribuidas por todo el mundo y 28 «de las que se oía hablar de vez en cuando». Casi todas estas ramas no eran sino avanzadillas temporales que pronto se desvanecen, pero la semilla de Greenpeace se propagaba con rapidez.

Al año siguiente, 1977, la campaña a favor de las focas se internacionalizó, y participaron

en ella gentes de Noruega, Gran Bretaña, Estados Unidos y Canadá. Para los medios, el punto álgido era la aparición en el hielo de la actriz francesa Brigitte Bardot, a la que acompañaban desde Europa no menos de 45 periodistas de Dinamarca, Noruega, el Reino Unido, Alemania y Suiza.

Mientras la Bardot concentraba la atención de los medios, los activistas de Greenpeace se esforzaban una vez más por detener a los cazadores noruegos. Paul Watson cruzó a la carrera la inestable superficie de hielo que se movía bajo sus pies y se desposó a un cable utilizado para subir una bala de pieles a bordo del barco. Lo arrastraron por el hielo y lo sumergieron varias veces seguidas en el agua hasta casi ahogarlo.

«Era como estar en el circo romano», dijo Watson. «No paraban de gritar ‘¡ahoga a ese bastardo!’, y por fin me subieron a bordo y me dejaron boca abajo sobre el bulto de pieles, de modo que me empapé por completo de sangre».

Mientras Watson iba camino del hospital, ya que se le había dislocado un hombro de resultas del enfrentamiento, los otros activistas de Greenpeace continuaron su protesta, salvando a algunos cachorros y obligando al barco a retirarse tras abandonar cien pieles en el hielo. Ese año disminuyó por vez primera de forma importante el número de focas sacrificadas. Rivalizando con la campaña ballenera en cuanto a publicidad, la protesta por las focas había de convertirse en acontecimiento anual.

Pero había otro asunto de muy distinta índole que también se había convertido en cotidiano: la organización seguía desgarrada por disputas internas que reducían su eficacia. Hunter dimitió como presidente, y el 20 de abril de 1977 lo sustituyó Patrick Moore. Watson, acusado de crear disensiones en cuanto a la táctica de las campañas balleneras, fue apartado de la junta directiva tras una prolongada y amarga discusión. (Más tarde formaría su propio grupo conservacionista, la Sea Shepherd Foundation.) El capitán Cormack, también miembro de la junta, estaba fuertemente endeudado y en peligro de perder el barco. También la oficina de Vancouver tenía deudas de consideración. Diversos grupos disidentes estaban formando aparatos burocráticos y jerárquicos por su cuenta. La autoproclamada Greenpeace Foundation of America, Inc. eligió presidente a un tal Gary Zimmerman.

Pero en el centro de todo este torbellino se estaba tejiendo un fuerte hilo de continuidad. En 1976 y 1977, David McTaggart, todavía pleiteando contra el gobierno francés, al que acusaba de piratería y daños al Vega, reunió a varios activistas que pronto formarían el núcleo de Greenpeace Europa.

Desde su base de París, McTaggart empezó también a utilizar las oficinas londinenses de Amigos de la Tierra como dirección para los envíos por correo, y enseguida inició conversaciones con dos miem- bros de dicha organización Susi Newborn y Denis Bell para abrir en Londres una oficina de Greenpeace.

Como más tarde relató Peter Wilkinson, otro miembro de Amigos de la Tierra que se había unido a Greenpeace, «en 1977. cuatro personas creamos Greenpeace en el Reino Unido, con una oficina alquilada en la zona de Whitehall, en Londres, 800 libras y muchísima determinación».

Entre tanto, en París, en una manifestación organizada por los sindicatos de las centrales nucleares francesas, McTaggart conoció a un joven activista llamado Remi Parmentier, también miembro de Amigos de la Tierra. Entre los dos hicieron planes para abrir una oficina de Greenpeace en París, que empezó a operar en 1977.

Los voluntarios europeos empezaron también a ver la forma de incorporarse a las campañas de protección de las ballenas. Greenpeace sabía que en el mes de mayo del año siguiente una flota islandesa saldría a cazar al Atlántico Norte, y decidió hacer todo lo posible por detenerla. Denise Bel sólo concebía una forma de lograrlo: conseguir un barco protesta.

Continua con un successo dietro l'altro Ferrara Summer Festival ed il 12 luglio 2023 lo fa con la chitarra di Steve Hackett, uno dei musicisti più importanti della storia del rock.

Inglese, negli anni '70  è stato membro della formazione originale dei Genesis con, tra gli altri, Peter Gabriel e Phil Collins. Steve Hackett ha poi intrapreso una carriera solista di successo, pubblicando numerosi album e collaborando con molti altri musicisti. La sua musica si distingue per l'uso virtuoso della chitarra e per le influenze che spaziano dal rock progressivo alla musica classica, al jazz e al folk. Durante il concerto al Ferrara Summer Festival, Steve Hackett eseguirà brani tratti dalla sua vasta discografia, ma non mancheranno omaggi alla sua esperienza con i Genesis, di cui ha fatto parte fino al 1977.

Sul palco del Ferrara Summer Festival Steve Hackett sarà accompagnato da musicisti d'eccezione. Alle tastiere Roger King (Gary Moore, The Mute Gods); alla batteria, percussioni e voce Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson); al sax, flauto e percussioni Rob Townsend (Bill Bruford); al basso e chitarra Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings); alla voce Nad Sylvan (Agents of Mercy).
