... sound of rebellion ...
Greeny is a 1959  Gibson Les Paul Standard, named after its first famous owner, Peter Green  in 1964-65. He used it during his time in John Mayall and Fleetwood Mac before selling it to Gary Moore  in the early 1970s. Moore used the guitar throughout his career, both as a solo artist and in bands. Due to financial troubles, he was forced to sell it in 2006, after which it passed through several private collectors and guitar dealers. In 2014, Greeny was acquired by Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, who has since used it both in the studio and during live performances.

Reposted from @bareknucklepickupsofficial For a single, individual pickup set to be surrounded by so much fame (or imfamy?) and folklore, it must have been something special. The repairs made to the neck pickup in Greeny’s Les Paul captured a special tone from a special instrument, something which many players still are searching for many decades later. Our PG Blues set has always been what we see as a very fitting tribute to that set, with every detail that we know about that fabled set recreated into a superbly dynamic and characterful pair of humbuckers, with the neck coils reverse wound, producing the out-of-phase tones which created a legend 😎 . . . #bkp #bareknucklepickups #handwoundpickups #classictone #guitartone #paf #humbucker #guitarpickups #vintageguitar #pgblues #petergreen #garymoore #59lespaul https://www.instagram.com/p/CeP5LfUO9ZTu59Z-fUb_vNxeQd5aHKBujgjOVM0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

1959 Gibson Les Paul known as "Greeny!" The most famous guitar in the world! The great Peter Green made it famous and then passed it on to Gary Moore who used it for years, but he then passed away. Kirk Hammett recently acquired it for over $2 Million US Dollars!!! Yes, one heck of a guitar! Much has been written about it and it has been the center of endless debate. Most of the debate centers around this guitar's unusual tone and that tone's relation to the guitar's reversed neck pickup.
