Hello, can I request headcanons for papas + copia with an s/o going to a haunted house or that knotts scary farm kinda deal where its multiple horror mazes at a theme park with scare actors?

Hoohoo. This will be fun.

Papa Nihil:

Sister Imperator warned you beforehand not to let Papa Nihil go into the haunted houses, under ANY circumstances!!

….but it’s not because he’s an old man.

“What is this? Is this supposed to be scary?”

Papa Nihil criticizes absolutely everything inside, scare actors included. He’s seen the fires of Hell and demons without measure–none of this can possibly measure up. He would laugh if you were afraid, though, and let you stay closer to him. “It’s alright, cara mia. None of it is real! Look! It’s not even that horrifying.”

He makes all the scare actors feel bad about themselves and you two have to go home early after getting kicked out of the park. Imperator sighs. It happens every Halloween.

Papa I:

He’s a bit like Nihil in the sense that he doesn’t get scared–but instead of getting Offended, he gets Concerned.

A scare actor comes running by screaming that they’re dying? He blinks. “Are you alright? Do you need medical assistance?”

It’s hard to be scared with Papa I there. Something in his aura is inherently calming. The scare actors kinda shuffle awkwardly around him and move to the next guest. Or, get into serious discussions with him.

Papa II:

Okay, but this overdramatic fuck would show up to the park in full demon pope costume and scare random people. To be honest, you’re probably in on it, decked out in your own costume.

Anybody? Scare him? Hahaha! No. He scares the scare actors. It’s kind of liberating, going through the spooky mazes and haunted houses and seeing the scare actors back away pretty damn quick from Papa’s imposing glare and staff. He doesn’t react to any of the jumpscares. His pokerface is an artform.

The one problem is that people keep mistaking him for a park employee and asking him questions.

Papa III:

Okay, realtalk? Papa III’s favorite holiday is Halloween. It’s a time of year for scary movies (his ultimate guilty pleasure!!!!!!), costumes, and candy.

The scare actors startle him, but he’s quick to laugh it off and compliment their costumes or stunts. He’ll also ask them silly questions (”Do your arms get tired from chopping heads off?”) and he absolutely loves when they respond in character back.

If they invade his personal space, he’ll put his hands on their shoulders and stare lustfully into their eyes. Papa III does not break eyecontact once. The man does not blink. It’s rumored that some of the scare actors wait until they see him coming and deliberately get up too close and personal so he’ll grab them.

Is the type to talk a big game (”Don’t worry, carina, I’ll protect you.”), but can actually follow through with his boasts and keep you protected behind him when he does.

Cardinal Copia:

Why did you bring him here.

This is an honest question. Why did you bring him here??

People getting in his face out of absolutely nowhere and startling him are something he does not enjoy!!

Has screamed and beat actors with his cane before if they get too close too fast. Other times he will just scream and then look really offended.

The one exception is if the haunted house/room/what-have-you has rats as a scare. They don’t frighten Copia, they fascinate him. He’d try to ask if the rats are okay and being well treated, because if they’re not, he’s gonna be angry! You have to pull him to the next room.

He tries to be brave for you–and ends up clinging to you for dear life as you go through. You end up being the one to say ‘I’ll protect you, babe’ and hold him close to keep him safe from all these monsters. You will be brave enough for both of you!
