While I always condone piracy from large corporations, it should never be the only means of watching a movie or series, since it both limits the audience and hurts the careers of those involved, especially with the absence of physical media releases and the attempt to seemingly erase all evidence of them from the internet.
The important thing to do now is continue to spread awareness and support of those series so that they remain in the public consciousness. That includes sharing torrents, making your own copies (preferably physical ones) and creating fan content so that more people know about them.
We shouldn’t have to deal with an entire generation of lost media just because some penny-pinching cunts on a stick decided that they’re not worth supporting anymore.

What’s crazy to me about paramount plus canceling and removing rise of the pink ladies is that they included Cynthia and the actor who plays Cynthia in their new pride commercial where they said they’re a space for the LGBTQIA+ community. That’s interesting because they just silenced our voices by removing the greatest piece of representation I’ve seen in recent years

I am so, so mad about it.
They actually fired her.
Assholes like Noah Schnapp and Timothee Chalamet can get away with whatever just because, but she DARES to speak her mind and to support victims of a genocide and she's kicked out? That's how Hollywood works? They'll fire a talented, passionate actress, who was so invested in her character and brought so much to the franchise just because she's being a decent human being while they'll keep being absolute bastards?
Perfect, then. That says a lot about them. Fuck Paramount. Fuck Hollywood. Fuck absolutely everyone who still support this genocide. Fuck everyone who'll be working in Scream VII, and purposefully ignoring that they're actively supporting murderers by staying quiet.
Scream is now ruined for me. I will proudly boycott Scream VII. For me, the franchise is now dead. Scream VI was the last one.
And finally, shout out to Melissa Barrera for being an absolute queen. They never deserved you in the first place. We all stand with you and I'm so fucking proud of you for doing what is right. Thank you for Sam Carpenter, who wouldn't have been the same without your amazing acting. Slay.

Anyone else getting really disillusioned with Trek lately? Disco cancelled without notice, Paramount's greedy business decisions and not just canning Prodigy but removing it entirely, Picard's queer erasure... I'm just... like it hurts not only because these are shows I care about but it hurts extra because trek is specifically about being better than bigotry and greed. But we're on the precipice of something and I don't feel like it's something good.
Like, I really wonder if we're about to enter a "no gays in trek" period again. Matalas apparently worked very closely with Rick Berman back in the '90s and if you're not aware of all the bullshit he instituted you can check out this post. Discovery is great for queer rep, but of course it's ending after the fourth season. Picard completely erased the Seven/Rafi relationship. Like, they didn't just needlessly break them up, they went out of their way to keep them from being on camera together too much. Strange New Worlds has potentially two queer characters, Ortega and Chapel, but so far I don't think it's been confirmed on screen that either of them are queer (IIRC, the only mention was in "Spock Amok" where they mentioned something about having a great night with some girls but only in a way that could easily be dismissed by someone who didn't want to acknowledge their queerness).
And I just feel like Paramount looked at it's audience and thought to themselves It doesn't look like we'll be able to keep both the old cishet white men and everyone else so we'll have to pick one and they chose the men. So right now, I'm afraid for Ortega's life. I fully expect them to either not let her be canonically gay or if they do she'll be dead within the episode. I'm afraid that when we finally get a Captain Seven show, they won't let their show lead be a queer woman, and it'll mostly be about Jack saving the day.
And I'm just... what do you do when the show that is explicitly supposed to be about taking a "special delight in differences in ideas and differences in life forms" basically says they don't want you anymore?

This whole situation sucks. I wasn’t super hopeful for a second season (the sapphic cancellation curse is real) but to remove the show entirely? I hate this trend of removing media entirely. Not just because of how much I love this show but because the erasure of art work is unethical and immoral. But this is literally why the WGA is striking and it’s more important than ever to show our support for them. Additionally make it known to other streaming platforms how much we would like them to pick up the show. On socials, email, whatever! But let them know because if there’s even the slightest hope of them picking up ROTPL it’s a step in the right direction. If you’re cancelling you’re subscription to paramount, let them know why!

Facts. It’s the audacity they have to now try and meatride Neve Campbell to come back after not paying her what she was worth in the first place because they’ve realised how much they’ve fucked up. I hope Neve tells them to go and fuck themselves. They could’ve paid her from the start but NO.
