Manchester Photo Diary 2022
Manchester Photo Diary 2022
Manchester was home for me for over 5 years, and it is where my husband went to University and where we got married. We still have so much love for this city and visit as often as we can (our hairdresser is still based here!). So a couple of times a year we head up from Cornwall for a bit of city life and a decent haircut. I always take so many photos and thought I would start sharing them in a…

  John5 photo Gallery
John5 and the creatures took his solo Its Alive Tour to Jacksonville Florida at the 1904 Music Hall. The doors didn’t open until 8pm, but that didn’t stop the fans to start lining up at the entrance about an hour early. wanting to get in and get their spot up front and close to the action. John 5’s day job may be playing foil to Rob Zombie, he often has the chance to take center stage himself, and that is just what he did at 1904.
John5 and the band hit the stage, after playing a few riff in the waiting room just of the side of the stage at 1904  with “Flight of Volcano Kelly” sporting a flashing colored grill in his mouth and that got the crowd throwing their hands and pumping the horns in the air. John is quite the showman on the stage as he plays this guitar like it was part of his body, he is an insane player that could play the phone book and I think he did at one time…haha. To call J5 a “good” guitar player is an underplaying his mass talent. His fretboard pyrotechnics mixed with the fierceness of his backing band leave no question of who is in control here. The guys backing up J5 consisting of Ian Ross on bass and Logan Miles Nix on drums, they have played on stage and in the studio with John for the last few years and it shows in the tightness they bring to the music. J5 switched guitars like he changes his socks, and the guitars are all works of art in their own right. His art in guitars goes from ones with LED that light up the whole body of the guitar to ones that just look killer. J5 is a showman at best, even changing into different costumes throughout the performances.
After the first 4 songs of pure guitar outrage, John gives the crowd a chance to put their faces back on with the jazzy “Jiffy Jam” that has a little twang to it that got the foot tapping. John is the master of mashups and bleeding songs from one to another, he would do that throughout the night with tunes like “Enter Sandman” but Metallica all the way to the final song of “Beat It” by Michael Jackson.
SET LIST:
Flight Of Vulcan Kelly, Crazy Ones, Rifle, Making Monsters, Jiffy Jam, Hellhaw, El Cucuy ??, Season Of The Witch, Enter Sandman, Portraits of Sydney Sloan, Dr. Evil/First Victim/Solo, Black Grass Plaque, Behind The Nut Love, 666 pickers, Guitar-Tits and Monsters, then a medley and Beat it.
All and all the show was entertaining and masterful, John kept the crowd in it all time and kept the fans wanting more at the end.

Ralph has been known to enjoy the odd festival but interest in Dot To Dot this year was heightened by the news that Sweet Sweet Records were hosting a stage on May 26th and Ralph's long-time favourites Duke and The Darlings were taking to it.
Manchester's fiercely independent Sweet Sweet Records will host a stage at the national Dot To Dot Festival 2017.
Sweet Sweet Records will host seven acts at No1 Watson Street on Friday May 26th as part of the Manchester leg of the three-part Dot To Dot Festival.
Music will start at 4pm with darling of BBC Introducing Liam McClair and climax with the neo-soul grooves and vocal moves of Alice Gasson, with an eclectic mix of lauded local acts in between. A free album with songs from all the acts is available to stream on Spotify:
Curated and organised by local independent label Sweet Sweet Records, the stage at No1 Watson Street boasts a wide range of musicians, and an even wider range of craft beers, with 12 taps, including Manchester beer heroes Cloudwater and Blackjack, and over 50 bottles. Attendees can also savour any of the craft pizzas on offer, with the All Day Breakfast pizza perfect for curing hangovers and getting you gig-ready.
The Sweet Sweet Records stage at No1 Watson Street is situated across from the main stage at Royal Albert Hall, and a few minutes away from other festival venues.
Alex Reed, founder of Sweet Sweet Records said: "It is simply the best way to celebrate what is happening in and around Manchester. Awesome local music and local food washed down with brilliant local beer. We have hosted many gigs for many acts, many of which in breweries, but this is the most exciting combination to date."
Tickets are only available pre-event and can be purchased here: http://bit.ly/2mPGpaf
The full line-up for the Sweet Sweet Records Stage at No1 Watson Street is as follows:
4pm Liam McClair 5pm Hannah Ashcroft 6pm George Fell 7pm KITS 8pm Duke and The Darlings 9pm South Island Son 10pm Alice Gasson
No1 Watson Street is a craft pizza and craft beer bar right in the heart of the Peter Street/Great Northern area, with a big and tasty range of both.
Sweet Sweet Records started in 2010, offering a small roster of acts a chance to share their music. Manchester-proud, the label dedicate most of their time to arranging unique events for local acts who really deserve a bit of a fuss. Residencies have included Brewdog Manchester, The Brink, Seven Bro7hers Beerhouse and Beer Nouveau Brewery.
