So apparently GMMTV will be announcing their 2024 line up in October!
Which actors do you think will be paired together this time? I feel like Mix and Pond have hinted they will be studying more so maybe not their pairings…. GeminiFourth said they will have a series so definitely them…
I would love to see ThorFluke plus Pawin with anyone and Drake with anyone!

(remember if it's not data driven I'm historically pretty bad at this, but sure, let's shoot the shizz)
Most Likely
EarthMix - they're reading v burned out (in addition to Mix + school) but they are currently GMMTV's cash cow so I can't imagine GMMTV won't try to put them in something, no matter what Mix said... but it's possible they'll be let rest for most of 2024.
First & Khao - naturally, if GMMTV can find a script the boys like, these two are likely their the biggest pair earners (if EarthMix really are out).
GeminiFourth - of course, the new princes
ForceBook - honestly they are steady, reliable workhorses who visually suit many BL scripts, they seem easy to work with, fun, and game. Not the most charismatic pair and I'm shaky on their range and versatility, but GMMTV clearly doesn't feel that way. I think it's pretty likely they will get something... I just hope it is something interesting. Are they bankable enough for a historical? That's the real question.
Not Sure
JoongDunk - I really don't know, I think they are slightly more likely than not but they keep getting lackluster scripts. GMMTV is more likely to blame the pair than the show. And it is possible they are just a lackluster pair... too.
JimmySea - what happen to (or will happen with) Last Twilight?
I'd like to see Jimmy paired with someone else. He's too charismatic for Sea. To really break us they should pair him with Gun and just burn down the world. GMMTV would never do this, tho.
Least Likely
It's unlikely PondPhuwin will lead out a show. Pond def said something about going back to school. (Which is code for a long break, if nothing else). They're good but less $ than EarthMix so I think GMMTV will back off from them.
OffGun - I'm not saying it won't happen anymore, but...
TayNew - see above
Bright with... anyone but Win.

Some noodling
I do think First & Khao were successful enough, and Only Friends will be enough of a sensation, for GMMTV to consider more First Khao style stuff. AKA instead of just dropping a whole pair, GMMTV will try rearranging pairs. Especially for couples that had previously been mostly just sides.
So we can expect Neo, Mark, Marc, Puwin, Aou, possibly even the twins or the Flukes show up paired "experimentally" with different other actors. Some that may genuinely surprise us.
That said, I'd like some more role swapping too.
For example, with Pond away, and him getting older and being SO established in the genre, I would love to see Phuwin play a seme roll. Not sure he has the personality for it in terms of how he's bonded with some of the newer GMMTV talent since I don't watch any of the variety/BTS anymore, but he has the screen presence.
Remember originally Neo & Phuwin had a pairing... I wonder if that would ever happen again.
I would love love LOVE to see Tay paired with someone else. I thought he was a revelation in 3 Will Be Free showing range I'd no idea he had and he's such a big puppy and friendly with everyone. I bet he could get many partners to trust and relax.
Similarly New needs to play a seme. I think he once said he'd rather not do BL with anyone but Tay, but I still think he'd be fun to see.
So New is less likely, but I think we can safely assume Tay would be game. With TayNew it's whether their shipper/stalker fans would "allow" this.
What GMMTV Wants/Needs
I said in the past they needed to onboard new talent and they went for free agents (Joong, Perth). I thought they'd go for whole pairs, and I still think they'd be wise to consider this.
Given they're likely shifting focus on expansion into darker, higher heat, and more gritty arenas (which I think they need to do given the paucity of scripts within their preferred BL style, the tenor of the market, and the aging of their existing stable) what they want is Zee++. Now they can't wrestle him/his pair free of Dormundi, so...
For solos they are looking for:
actors who have lost their pair, have range into dark territory, will do high heat, and can play harsher seme roles (tall a bonus.)
If they're smart they make a play for Bible, but I wouldn't rule out Lee Long Shi. Both actors have a style that fills a niche in the GMMTV stable and are pro enough to work well in a new pair that GMMTV sets for them.
You KNOW they want Bible. How could they not? Can you imagine?
If they go after a pair?
If they're smart as I think they are? They want NetJames. And they might be able to get them, depending on contracts. NetJames has been awful quiet recently, they either are actually finally filming Love Upon a Time or that's fallen through and they're in contract negotiations. YinWar and JaFirst are also tempting prospects, I would imagine. Especially Ja.
It's this "new pair to GMMTV" announcement I'm most interested in, come October.
I think I'm leaving a key high heat pair on the table, but GMMTV also has a specific appearance and acting style they tend to cast for, and not all of the current indy heat pairs have that. Plus their are high value pairs that clearly do not want to sign with or work with GMMTV (OhmFluke for example) so that's a factor.
Finally, you KNOW they want to recreate the magic of GeminiFourth with young talent so I would bet they are actively recruiting high school grade pink milk via auditions, so we can expect one set of totally fresh faces.
Also tumblr ate half this post so I might have missed a few pairs worth discussing, because I had them but it deleted them. Don't blame me, blame tumblr, and leave a comment.
FYI my predictions for 2023 were as follows:

an attempt to resurrect big guns like TayNew (yep - if cherry magic happens) or even BrightWin (nope, they went for OffGun instead, who I had thought were out)

GMMTV recruits/onboards an established pair who can and is willing to do higher heat
They option something v complex: crime thriller, mystery, suspense, historical even, I wonder if they might be interested in adapting say... Trapped.
JoJo gets to helm another "off brand" show
What I want them to do?
Finally admit that they can take an established script and "make it gay" and just LEAN in. Descendants of the Sun, but gay. Business Proposal, but gay. Home Town Cha Cha Cha... but gay. Thailand has the latent pool and the screen time but they don't have the scripts/stories.
Time to look to Korea and just fill in the gap that Korea is already leaving on the table (by only doing short form BLs).
Korea has the romances. Hundreds of them. MANY of which are not gender dependent.
Can you fucking imagine if Boss & Babe had been that exact cast but GMMTV doing a gay Dali and the Cocky Prince instead? It would have been amazing.

To celebrate (my first being out) pride and the coming summer solstice (because kissing is a summer activity) here is my top 10 of the best kisses SO FAR in queer dramas for 2023. Inspired by @absolutebl and including sniff kisses because Thai culture don’t play with those
Never let me go. They call Pondphuwin baby!Maxtul for a reason. All the Palmnueng kisses are good but the salty sticky beach kiss ? I’m an Island person my first tongue kiss had sea water in it I’m biased.
The new employee. Amazing horny AND sweet and sincere and yaoi hands and Korea really said I shall rule while Taiwan ain’t here.

a ranking & summary of my thoughts on gmmtv 2024 part 1
pluto: this is my everything already. A GL??? with two of my fave actresses film & namtan??? AND a complex, interesting plot??? I'm obsessed already!!! this looks so good I'm so happy it's happening & it will become my whole personality once it airs!!!
the trainee: I genuinely believed, even with the rumors that off, gun, view, kapook & sea would be in a show together, that we wouldn't get an offgun show this year. AND I WAS WRONG!!! is this what it's like to always fucking win??? like genuinely, my ship is THAT ship, I'm so lucky & happy and I love them so much <3
peaceful property on sale: duuuude, this looks so fun??? I was already hooked when I saw new's over the top character, but a ghost haunting show with taynew, jan & mook??? absolutely incredible! this looks ridiculous & I know I'm gonna love every second of it!
my golden blood: bruh, thank goodness I was warned about jossgawin in advance or I might have had a heart attack, but honestly????? THEY ATE THAT! and mond playing the villain????? babe, that casting is incredible & perfect, I'm obsessed!!! I usually don't like supernatural stuff but I was also a teen wolf fan bruh so atp I'm gonna EAT that shit UP!!!
wandee goodday: you might not know it, but I have a super power. every time I start being a fan of someone who hasn't done bl, they do bl the following year. this year it was nonkul, and next year it's gonna be great sapol. AND I LOVE THAT FOR ME!!! this looks really good & fun, the characters are interesting and the story not too crazy or too basic. I can feel that it's gonna be good!
ploy's yearbook: a female-led show & the return of mond as a main??? BLESS!!! I love most of this cast, this looks fun as hell, I adore my gmmtv girlies... gotta watch this for sure! love seeing earth in more roles outside of his ship too!
enigma 2: I still haven't watched season one, am planning on watching it very soon, but I've heard great things so I'll be sure to catch season two as well! especially since I really liked toey jarinporn in the recent lakorn to the moon and back so I'm excited to see how she does!
my precious the series: as you know I've watched the movie in theaters, but I'm excited for it to be out as a series too, especially since there's extra scenes! seems like it might be even more lovable, and also if it's on gmmtv's youtube channel I'll finally be able to gif the iconic scenes :')
high school frenemy: this looks interesting & I like sky, but I feel like the plot doesn't make sense if it's not a love story... idk I feel like since this is adapted from a kdrama it's just gonna be a frustrating story that should be a romance but is reduced to bromance instead... I might still watch though :')
only boo: this looks kinda cute though basic. I don't know both main leads but might watch it.
we are: this has all ships I like, especially marcpawin & aouboom who deserve more spotlight, so I will be watching, but the plot seems really basic so I'm not expecting anything out of this world...
kidnap: this plot seems interesting but the cast isn't so... yeah.
summer night: I was so confused by who is supposed to be with who in the show lol, honestly I was down for dunkphuwin lmao, but this looks too messy for me :')
my love mix-up: I absolutely despise remakes even though I enjoyed kieta hatsukoi & like geminifourth, and although I'm certain this version will fix the chemistry issues of the original, I'm not gonna be watching it.
ossan's love thailand: same thing as for the previous show but even more so bc ossan's love is such a product of its time & shouldn't be remade in 2024 imo...

I. JimmySea
(Jimmy Jitaraphol & Sea Tawinan)
ppl would probably be concerned if i didn't answer jimmy and sea. i've been here with them for over 1,5 years now and my love for them hasn't diminished at all. there's just something so comforting and genuine about them. their presence and their performances (on stage and on-screen) feel like a hug to me. i loved puentalay to bits, i am currently head over heels in love with morkday, and i keep hoping this isn't the end. gmmtv2024 part 2 will give us a new series with them bc they cannot just throw aside the depths these two have found for their relationship ♥
II. ForceBook
(Force Jiratchapong & Book Kasidet)
witnessing their glorious comeback this year made me so happy. after an unjustified onslaught of hate and a long stay in gmm's basement, their chance to shine again was well overdue. enchanté and akktheo convinced me of their extraordinary chemistry, and this year forcebook truly outdid themselves in both of their series. guncher in a boss and a babe became very dear to me, and topmew showed sides of them i didn't know even existed. they've grown so much, and i hope the upcoming year only brings them more opportunities that let them shine even brighter ♥
III. OffGun
(Off Jumpol & Gun Atthaphan)
probably my oldest bl actor cp. i first got to know them after theory of love where i absolutely adored khaithird. i know the majority (?) hated that show but i loved it to bits. i watched puppy honey soon after to see more of them, but never really felt too strongly about pickrome. i went around the internet to learn a bit about them as actors and people for a while but they never really stuck with me then. and then not me and seanwhite happened. offgun took over my heart again and i was truly sad when i thought not me would be their last bl. but then they announced cooking crush! and now we get the trainee too! and i just think my love for them will never end; they've been here with me through it all, in one way or another ♥
IV. PondPhuwin
(Pond Naravit & Phuwin Tangsakyuen)
during the surge of bl in my life that begun with bad buddy (and maybe not me too), i binged a ton of other/older gmmtv (bl) series. fish upon the sky was one of them, and even if i never quite liked that series, i loved the chemistry between pond and phuwin. i've actually known phuwin since his acting debut under gmm (when he was a true baby) and was curious to see him with a new face. i was even more excited when i realized they would be getting a new chance with never let me go as palmnueng would introduce a very different type of setting for them. now they're very dear to me as i also came to know pond and especially phuwin as people ♥
V. MarcPawin
(Marc Natarit & Pawin Thanik)
the black sheep of my 2023 that i never saw coming. honestly, i wasn't a big fan of my gear and your gown, and so i thought i was not hooked on these two. then they got their glorious comeback during the nlmg our skyy 2 eps and a whole ass tsunami were put in motion in my brain. the wave hit shore when they started getting side couple vibes in dangerous romance and finally got to kiss again. and now we have we are where these two are about to be one of the couples (still not sure if they're main or not). am obsessed. i love this comeback for them. i hope this carries them further than ittpai ever did ♥
Bonus: Mark Pakin + Everyone
i think my school president and his role as tiw started the rise of one mark pakin. after that, the year 2023 has truly been His Year. he's gone from tiw and being paired with ford to appearing as saleng in moonlight chicken where he was paired with view to then appearing again as tiw who was even more prominently with por (ford) to getting paired with neo in only friends as nick and now ending his year as night in last twilight where we've seen the first hints of him being paired with namtan. boy keeps changing partners like socks and it's absolutely brilliant bc he has chemistry with everybody. he's even teased new upcoming projects with a new partner (ohm thi?) and keeps saying he's truly fine with any partner and anyone we'd like to ship him with. an icon. a legend. i love him a lot.

LAST TWILIGHT – SOME EARLY THOUGHTS
If you're hesitating at the doorstep of Last Twilight because you're not a fan of JimmySea, or because you've been overly disappointed by GMMTV of late, or because the plot of this BL seems hackneyed and/or sappy... I think Ep.1 may yet surprise you, as it did me. 😍
Whenever Khun Noppharnach eases into the director's seat, some kind of magic happens. I have no other explanation for this... I never thought much of this branded pair; Vice Versa was one big yawn as far as I was concerned (despite some very interesting world-building – but all that promise was soon squandered), and Jimmy's acting never seemed too far removed from barely-animated woodblock (in BBS especially, though he was greatly improved in VV).
But Ep.1 of Last Twilight has made me re-think all of that... Yes the plot does reek somewhat of the contrived (bad boy meets suffering, deficient angel and each is obviously fated to be the other's salvation). But Director Aof has managed to introduce some nuance into their portrayals (Sea's Day isn't some shining, selfless martyr – he's a sardonic, cynical, self-hating Dr. House destined for a different cane; Jimmy's Bad Boy Mhok – hello do-over Wai! – has emotional baggage from his sister's death and a strangely believable, platonic and supportive relationship with his ex-girlfriend Porjai, played by a luminous Namtan). The acting from the two main leads is notches above what we've seen them do in previous outings (I live for Sea's snarky little smirks, whenever Day's self-hate threatens to explode out at the world; and there are flashes of emotion crossing Jimmy's face that I never thought I'd live to see – watch the expressions flicker across his face when Porjai visits him in the lock-up, bearing dark news of his big sis Rung).
I think part of Director Aof's talent, that we never seem to give him enough credit for, is his ability to draw out the best from his actors. If they're limited by inexperience, there's only so much he can do (thus the Wai we got in Bad Buddy) but once they have more to give, it shows and I think he's the catalyst.
The cinematog is crisp and clear, but it also makes heavy use of close-ups with elements (usually faces) always slightly out-of-frame, calling out to Day's visual predicament perhaps? 🤔
And we've already had a director cameo! Assistant Director Meng Chaiyapat Pitisutrakul was also one of the interview candidates at Ep.1 [1/4] 21.16 and Ep.1 [1/4] 23.18 (he mentions his appearance on Facebook, linked here.)
I have cautious hopes for this one. You can sense Khun Noppharnach's assured hand operating behind the scenes, and it truly shows up in the work onscreen. Such a contrast with Only Friends, and so refreshing too.

The Logistics of Longform Boyfriend Improv
Here's some random thoughts about longform boyfriend improv (and thank you to whoever coined that phrase; it's my absolute favorite way to think about fanservice because yeah, that's what's happening) I've been having and do I think it's prudent to put this on the internet? I don't know but here we go.
I'm intensely interested in the logistics of how it gets decided and codified, especially at GMMTV. Like, clearly some guys are interested in doing it as a career move, and some aren't, and GMMTV seems to roll with whatever is preferable to the actor, at least at THIS point. I feel some kind of way about the fact that Krist and Singto, say, or even Off and Gun for that matter, went into the whole thing without understanding where it would be going, because, welp, no one knew at that point.
Let me say this: I don't think in 2016 GMMTV thought that a huge number of endorsement deals would happen for dudes in these branded ships; I think it might have taken them some time. Maybe they did and I'm naive, but god, I kind of have to doubt it, especially given attitudes towards homosexuality in Thailand at the time.
So if they stumbled into this goldmine, and didn't know the longterm direction it would go, they paired guys up who had chemistry (or didn't; sorry Podd and Khaotung, but no, it was never gonna work) and threw them out there without realizing what was going to happen. It's entirely NOT surprising that some of the guys were like, no, wait, what?
Off and Gun rolled with it, but Krist and Singto didn't. Tay and New were on hiatus for how long because it seems like Newwiee was uninterested in doing the whole LBI thing. And I don't think any of those choices are bad or good, they just are. (I find Nanon to be a VERY interesting inflection point. Did Nanon know when he signed on for BBS that he was signing on for LBI? Did he agree to that? Did it organically happen over time [I find that VERY hard to believe]? Did he agree and then grow to hate it? Or was it before LBI became so intense, and as it intensified around he and Ohm, did he scream 'get me off this ship?' Fascinating. Logistics.)
But guys coming up now? They know. Satang and Winny and Aou and Boom and Marc and Pawin and Great and In and Sea and Keen and Leng--they all know. Now, have all these people agreed to do LBI? Who can say? I feel pretty solid in saying that Satang and Winny are WELL on their way, and Aou and Boom seem to be vying for it as well.
Because here's the thing: longform boyfriend improv MUST PAY. It pays in money, I'm sure, but also in fame and fans. It pays in status in GMMTV and I think we ALL know that. (The women are seemingly eager to do GL, and I think it's not hard to see why.) I think about the trade-offs, and I have to imagine these guys do too. That's not to say a guy can't get big without doing LBI; Fluke Gawin has a devoted following without doing ANY LBI, and that's fab. But if you're Winny or Satang, and you've been the side guy forever, does it seem like LBI is the way to the big time? Is Satang eyeing the Bright/Nanon road to music stardom that went through BLs for them? (Or Jeff Satur for that matter. Or Krist Perawat.)
I'm not interested in discussing the decisions these individual men are making around LBI. That feels pretty infantilizing to me. It's not a 1-to-1 comparison, but I think about this sometimes when it comes to men who compete in rough sports, like boxing or football. Some men (and women, if we're talking about boxing) will choose to take the trade-off of an uncertain health future in order to play a game that might bring them fame or fortune or hell, they just love. I'm not interested in parsing each person's choice to make that trade-off. That's up to them.
We can have a discussion about whether LBI hurts or helps BL in the long run, and we can have a discussion about whether it's harmful in a societal sense, and that's definitely an interesting discussion. But whether or not Ohm Pawat decides to get into another LBI situation? That's not something we can say a damn thing about. Only he knows, working with his current situation and what he wants for his career.
Well, that went slightly away from the idea of the logistics of LBI, but suffice it to say that this autist is highly interested in the nuts and bolts of making it all work, and about who does it and who doesn't. I'd love to just sit down with Phuwin or Dunk (my Thai isn't very good and these guys are fluent in English) and ask about the logistics. I don't want to know about the personal feelings; I want to know about the business arrangement. I think it would actually enhance LBI for me!
(Look, I know some of you HATE fanservice/longform boyfriend improv and look, I just don't. I don't want anyone to be forced to do it, and I don't care if the LBI ends. I just enjoy it while it's happening.)

GMMTV 2024 (part 1) predictions
I can't believe we're here again, I had so much fun speculating and watching last year, it truly is my Superbowl lol.
This year will be way harder to predict anything as we didn't have Safe House nor any new couple, as far as I know, so this will be based on questionable rumours and vibes alone. WinnySatang series. Reason: they have a keychain lol. This may be difficult to explain to someone who's not up to date with gmmtv shenanigans but the company recently released merch with a winnystang's logo, which usually means they are being branded as a couple.
Continuing with this, sadly no logo or merch for GawinKrist, which probably means they won't continue as a couple.
Big cast assemble featuring Off, Sea and possibly others like Gun, View, First, Dunk. Reason: they were seen together without any other explanation so maybe they were filming a trailer.
I think KhaoFirst talked about another project together.
I also heard some rumours about EarthMix and them talking about working together next year.
Two GLs. A bit generous, I know. I expected GMMTV to air 23.5 in the first half of 2023 as a test of how the public receives GLs before going for another but that didn't happen. So my guesses now are a) they don't care that much about 23.5 numbers because they're already planning on doing more GLs or b) they don't care because they don't plan to make another GL this year. I'm going for the former on faith alone and also I faintly remember a photo of Aof's office with one or two GL books which weren't 23.5.
ViewJune becoming an official couple and starring in another series together, hopefully as mains. They're already paired for Dangerous Romance and 23.5 and this happened with MilkLove so.
PondPhuwin and JoongDunk together in a series in some way. This is more of a wild guess but the fourth of them are quite good friends and had a few events together and have spoken about working together in a series. Fans love it and ask for it a lot so maybe GMMTV has seen it and decided to capitalise on it.
No Tu or Fah coming back yet, but expected to happen later in the year. I'm quite sad about this because they are some of my favourite actresses from the company.
I'm guessing it's less likely we'll have OffGun, TayNew, MilkLove or JimmySea projects as two series of them would have to air in the same year.
If we talk about rotation, the pairs that would be more likely to have a series would be GemFourth, PondPhuwin and EarthMix.
As for side pairs who could become main or official couples we have Aou Boom, Winny Satang, Ohm Fluke, Mark Ford, Mark Neo, Marc Pavin comeback. My guesses are Winny Satang, and Mark and Neo. In my opinion Mark has three possible candidates whom he could form a couple with: Neo, Ford and Nanon. Why Nanon? Mark and Nanon had a couple of events together and are really good friends, GMMTV loves that. But I pray they'll go with Neo, they had some work together and it's been a long time since he had any appearance with Ford, so it could happen.
The Enigma season 2
I expect an OhmNanon comeback TayNew style but not for one or two years, so no OhmNanon together, not even in a hetero series.
There are at least 4 hetero romance series I have not heard from yet which were announced for 2023, two with Dew, one with Win. Are they being cancelled? Gmmtv has only ever cancelled one announced series since I started watching but idk, we have a lot to go through yet, I don't know where are they going to fit. And they won't stop airing reruns on the days this type of series usually goes.
I expect another rookie series, especially seeing how well MSP did.
I'm trying to think of a hetero male or female lead but I can't come up with anything. My guess was Luke but he hasn't posted the gmmtv2024 announcement. Maybe NanonFilm again? I really have no idea.
Only two days to go!!!! I can't wait. And if I'm lucky with work I'll be able to watch it somewhat live and blog about it, so I'm even more excited.

I know everyone is predicting stuff for GMMTV P2 but the majority of my "predictions" (that are probably a little tin-foil hat coded) are not from that.
Do not get me wrong I enjoy GMMTV BLs. But I am honestly not as exited about new stuff from them. Once we have it I will probably enjoy most of them (unleass they fuck up in a major way again). But I can't build enough anticipations for any of it (especially since what I really want is never going to happen).
My non GMMTV BL prediction of this year and early 2025 are as follows:
CHANGE 2561 would be very very stupid to not capitalized on how much the cast of Pit Babe is close to each other and is able to create "shippable" content with non "official" ships. Also they did a bit of BL history already with Pit Babe, and I think they can do more by announcing some projects that break up the official pairs after the next one (the long bean one)
FoureverYou is not filming, that leads me to believe that the Vampire Project might not be the only project they are shopping around for. Despite the fact they are doing promo photoshoots and have all the cast ready and they did the blessing event thing (sorry I am not sure how to call it at this time) there has been no filming. Half the cast is still being managed by Wabi Sabi despite the fact that they are obviously not looking to do that anymore. SO THEORY: This is also getting shopped around. I don't think that GMMTV is getting this one, because of how fast the part 2 is coming up now. But another studio might be getting, along with the rest of the Wabi Sabi actors that are not GMMTV and don't want to go indipendent.
Barcode being at all the promotional stuff with Ta (and Copper) makes me think they might be testing the water. JeffBarcode have Wuju Bakery but then nothing, and Copper is leaving soon, so no pairing with Ta is able to happen. They might be testing the waters to eventually pair Ta and Barcode as leads in a BL ---- I am not saying I 100% want this, I would be ok with them not having a pair braind. But BOC is short on bankable pairs. So far they have one. BibleJes is getting tested with 4 Minutes and all the other boys don't have a set pairing. A third pair for them would help them a lot.
---- CONTROVERSIAL THEORY UP HEAD (It's about Mame - putting under the read more so you don't have to engage with it If you don't want)
I am not saying you have to agree - I am not even saying I am correct - I am speculating only. This thoughts are colored by my expirience and I can only speak for myself.
The BossNouel Mame series (the one that is based off the Minor Side Couple in TharnType s2 - the neighboors with the jealous boyfriend and the younger uni guy) is not going to happen. Hear me out, not only did Nouel just cut his hair in a way that would totally clash with how the character he is supposed to play looks like. It would also be very bad for them. I have recently re-watched TharnType and it appears obvious to me (although again I might be wrong - this is just my opinion) that this ship is basically less bratty Rain and less bad boy Phayu. They are basically the same dynamic at their core. And if BossNoeul does this, they will get typecasted all the way to hell.
That is what killed OhmFluke (UWMA) and it is absolutely still hurting their job prospers even now. Fluke as expressed already that he wished to do a Mafia style BL, something where he played a criminal, but he is not getting that.
I think BossNouel should not play a dynamic that is so similar to their first one.
I know I don't know these people and I am just speculating, but that haircut is not something a naive and innocent babyfied character like the one is supposed to play should have. Love Sea finished filiming. They should be working on the BossNouel series soon. So why cut his hair now?
Plus Mame re-realesing TharnType and Don't Say No on YouTube full episodes and all, might have been a way to get people to recall the characters BossNouel are supposed to play, their are supposed to play in that universe.
That is why the series got re-released (I am guessing) which means they expect to shoot relatively soon. So again, why cut his hair in a way that that character wouldn't have. Because as it stands they would have to use a wig on him.
Unleass they are doing something very very different in which case why dragged the TharnType characters back, or they are not doing that anymore.
I don't know. I might be wrong.

My thoughts on the GMMTV 2023 line-up (from what I can remember and from some dms I shouted to @grapejuicegay last night)
I am SO EXCITED for both projects with Perth. I absolutely love him and Double Savage with Ohm looks incredible (I've been longing for Ohm in something dark) as does Dangerous Romance (how long have we been waiting for Chimon to lead?!). With DS, part of me wonders if they're not biological brothers (it's the use of 'blood brothers'...but I'm probably wrong 🤷🏽♀️)
Hidden Agenda looks cute...but quite similar to their last project. I'm a huge fan of Joong but not so much of Dunk. I wish they would have paired Joong with someone else (like Perth I guess! Or maybe Sing -> he's another I want to see lead) and in something meatier. But this one has Aou and Boom as a seemingly established couple 👏🏼
Although an office romance, and with Force and Book whom I think go well together, I'm lukewarm over A Boss and A Babe (especially the title). I'm not a fan of boss/employee relationships. Having said that, I do appreciate that Book's character did address the inappropriateness of that in the trailer.
The way I SCREAMED with Milk and Love in 23.5 (and honestly, I love obscure titles like this). And I doubly love that they subverted the stereotypes a little, having Milk as the shy pursuer and Love as the popular confident one. A+ I'll be vibrating till I see this. Oh and it was the only trailer I watched twice. I think that says a lot.
I think Cooking Crush will be cute. It's nice to see Off and Gun together again, hopefully they will be even more comfortable with each other, and Neo is back to his typical typecast it seems. But I'm happy to see Marc getting a few roles this year. I wonder if the 'twist' is that Off's character is already a brilliant chef...but we'll have to wait and see.
It's nice to see Ohm (shirtless) and Joong in Wednesday Club but I'm not so interested in the storyline. Sorry fellas. Also it's kind of funny that Ohm plays a middle child in two series, this and Double Savage 😄 (at least I think that's what he said in the interview after DS).
Oh it's wonderful to see Jimmy again. I hope he pulls out yet another different character. I felt he did so well with Puen being so different from his performance as Wai, so I'm looking forward to seeing him - and Sea - in Last Twilight. I hope they handle the blindness well...but it's Aof directing...so I want to trust it.
My live reaction to Only Friends: "Wait....Force, Book, First, Khaotung, Marc, AND Neo all in one show?! And they're all fu*king each other?! 😂 YES PLEASE!" Says it all really. And: "JOJO!"
I was happy to finally see Nanon in something...but I'm not sure what to make of The Jungle. I may not watch this one tbh. Actually, if it were the case that the women are getting revenge on these players by getting them all angsty and rejected then maaaaaybe I'd be on board. I want power women 💪🏼
I've already mentioned a little about the Cherry Magic reproduction - I think they should wait for a couple more years. It's too close to Japan releasing the movie. Plus I agree with the majority of others -> Tay and New aren't the right casting for this.
Midnight Museum looks intriguing...I like a bit of paranormal, and I don't know Tor Thanapob so it will be interesting to see what he's like...and I really like Ploy from The Eclipse so I'm excited to see her...but I can't get a sense of the plot from that trailer.
And as for Our Skyy 2...I think these screenshots speak for themselves really:
But in all seriousness, I think these will be cute to go back to...or at least some of them - ATOTS, Bad Buddy, Vice Versa, The Eclipse...even Star in my Mind - but it feels strange getting a special episode for some series that haven't even aired yet - My School President, Never Let Me Go, and A Boss and A Babe. The latter being included in Our Skyy makes me think the ABAAB series will come out early in 2023 and then OS2 will come out later...but who can say.
And as for those I haven't mentioned...I'm not really interested, so I'll not waste your time.
The things I'm sad we didn't get include:
Neo as a lead in something serious
AJ in a lead role finally (I think he would be GREAT with Ploy in a het if he didn't want to do ql)
Joong given something serious/heavy
Sing in something meaty, angsty, soul-destroying
Drake to be given something more prominent
More women. Just MOAR
and my very favourite wish...for the actor who played Pran's dad, A Passin, to be in a ql with someone of a similar age (or younger, I'm not fussy...not really)...I mean, the man has to get his tattoos on display somehow 🤷🏽♀️ I could see him as a school teacher or librarian, subverting the school setting by focusing on the adults for once...

What do we know about the other series that will air after Nong Last? Friday is likely to take 23.5. Cooking Crash doesn't have many episodes left. Can the Sunday slot be occupied by an The Trainee? Or maybe they'll do some kind of rerun? Oh, I'd like them to repeat Vice versa, especially now that JS is popular.

i have to admit i didn't keep up with most of the series that were announced in GMMTV 2024 part 1, HOWEVER!!!!!!!! i do know that the trainee filmed Q29 today and that they have only one more left, so the chance that we're gonna get it after cooking crush ends is pretty high!!!!!! being able to have sea on my screen so soon after last twilight ends would probably be the only thing that could keep me going tbh. THAT AND 23.5 WHICH THEY BETTER GIVE US SOON OR IM GONNA START MAIMING BITING KILLING (my best guess is that it's gonna start on february 9 with the trailer dropping next monday but i've been known to clown in my time)
aside from the trainee, i know we are has been filming for some time now but pretty discontinuously (anyone please correct me if I'm wrong!!), while i think wandee goodday, only boo, and my love mix-up have only just started, so i don't know if any of them will be ready to take the saturday slot after cherry magic. they could push for my love mix-up if they wanted to continue with the japanese series remakes, but it's still too early to tell
so yeah, a vice versa rerun would be the dream but if that can't happen IM KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSES FOR 23.5 AND THE TRAINEE TO COME SAVE US!!!!!!!!!

GMMTV 2023 bl/gl rating (based off trailer/preferences)

8. Our Skyy 2
To be fair it’s the only new ohmnanon thing so I’ll take it but did we really need a season 2. What’s more insightful about this is how many couples have been produced over the last year or so.
7. A Boss and a Babe
The first thing that strikes me is the name (uhhhh). Like I love forcebook but I don’t have much faith in gmmtv office bls. Also, In the trailer it felt like, suddenly their together so hopefully it will make more sense once it’s out.
6. Hidden Agenda
Cute little storyline, joongdunk doing a university set bl makes a lot of sense. I do feel like joong continuously plays the same character, like this cold dude that speaks only one line at a time and can be furiously flirty kinda. Also, whenever dunk cries I can’t take him seriously cause of his deep ass voice.
5. Cooking crush
Definitely will be watching, it’s offgun so it gonna be good. Looks great and this comedic, romance has similarities to puppy love. We love Neo as well.
4. 23.5
MILKLOVE finally, I think gmmtv are going to regret not doing a gl sooner. And it also has a bl side storyline. I really hope it does well!!! The plot looks really cute, how sun doesn’t know who earth is and yeh looks GREAT
3. Dangerous Romance
This one particularly gives me the vibe that gmmtv has prepared this to be the bigger series of 2023/24. Love the whole enemy to lovers, rich, poor thing but I feel like the trailer was a bit messy but maybe that’s a good thing as I want to watch it. I am excited to see chimon in a series even though since safe house not as much :)
2. Last Twilight
Now, looking at the poster I really wouldn’t of thought this was going to be that good, as it was giving titanic vampire kinda. However, y’all the doctor telling Seas character he has 180 days left, nearly made be cry. Wasn’t the biggest vice versa enjoyer but this has truly blown me away. Especially with Seas acting!!!! It looks really good and the plot and what can I say it’s p’aof again.
1. Only Friends
Wouldn’t of thought gmmtv would be pulling a series showcasing a group of friends who are tangled in gay messes and sex but here we are. Also, has some great pairings and FIRSTKHAO. Gotta give a shout out to Neo as well like that was not on my bingo card but slay I guess. I just hope we don’t have to wait for long…
CHERRY MAGIC RANT:
NOW, let’s talk about the Cherry Magic adaption. It doesn’t have a trailer yet so I didn’t put it up their but I would say it’s giving top 5 material. Personally, don’t really care that they are doing an adaption too. Obviously cherry magic (Japanese Vers) is AMAZING, was waiting for every ep every week when it was airing and now there’s a movie so for taynew there will defo be comparisons. However, they’re adapting from the novel. I’m just glad we will get taynew after like 4 years. I will say this will probably be out in 2024 though.

Reveal Your Watch and Rewatch Lists
I was tagged by @gilly-bean. I recently did one here, but here are some new thoughts and updates.
RECENTLY FINISHED:
Triage (AIS Play Paid YouTube?) - @kyr-kun-chan got me to watch this finally, and I am glad she did. Not surprised this seems to come from the same folks who worked on Manner of Death. I liked putting a gay romance in a time loop story. I’m not always a fan of Tae, but he’s used well here. Feel like the side couple shifted in the final loop unexpectedly, but I’m choosing not to complain. Really stellar project, and I’m glad (not) BL is continuing to experiment with other genres.
Stranger Things 4 (Netflix) - Look, I don’t like the long episodes. If you’re going to do movie-length episodes of TV, I want them to be structured like movies. We basically had the run time of 13 hour-ish episodes. It may seem like I’m splitting hairs, but I suspect the short episode number has to do with restricting how many writing credits screenwriters can earn so that they lose their guild membership. For those following, the writers strikes of the last 15 years have been devastating for TV, so I suspect the producers want to weaken the power of the guild.
That being said, I think this was a good season that benefited from extra time to work on some of the writing. The new characters landed quickly and effectively, and I’m exciting for the final arc now that we’re deep in the spiral.
CURRENTLY WATCHING:
Gameboys 2 (Gaga outside of US currently) - There is something intensely vital about Gameboys. I know a lot of folks struggled with it as a screen-life show about and set during the pandemic, but I don’t think any show has tackled the insanity of being trapped inside the way the Philippines has. Maybe it’s because they’re one of the most online nations in the world, but they just get how people are using social media and digital communication tools these days.
I also know that a lot of folks come to BL to take a break from the realities of existing as queer, but I often tend to enjoy the shows about queer family and love in spite of all the BS we face. The queer friendships in this show feel real to me in a way that they almost never do in Thai BL (or even J-BL). It’s the most important show for me that I’m watching right now.
Minato’s Laundromat (Gaga) - Like with Gameboys, I continue to be enamored with this show for how honestly it’s tackling an age gap one-sided romance between a high schooler and an almost-30 laundromat owners. I like the meditation in the show about whether we should treat the first big infatuation of someone’s life as a serious and long-term-viable romance. I like how honest Akira is with Shin about what’s going on, and I appreciate that he doesn’t lie to Shin that he finds him attractive. It’s very important to me that we honor the feelings of young people, even if we know they’re a bit misguided. I have worries about where this may go, but as a gay man who knows how often people’s first experiences are with guys (sometimes much) older than them, I’m looking forward to the rest of this.
Senpai, This Can’t Be Love! (Viki or Gaga) -
I am enjoying how quickly this feels like it’s moving, especially after Mr. Unlucky. I’m also enjoying Kaneda’s forthright nature. Love rooting against a Canadian as a romantic complication. How fun!
Vice Versa (GMMTV YouTube) - I liked the first episode. I like the visual language being used around color and when we see Sea/Ohm and Jimmy/Nanon. I legitimately laughed at the first joke of the show (that never happens with GMMTV). I’m glad we have a whole show about using color effectively, because we’ve all given GMMTV a lot of grief about washing out the image to make the actors look as pale as possible. Sincerely, GMMTV Management, you have a beautiful country full of beautiful people. Please stop trying to make them look like they’re from higher latitudes.
Love Mechanics (WeTV) - I am so exhausted by this show. No one has done anything wrong, but I’m just not a huge fan of messy relationships. Yin is charming, but Vee reminds me of too many guys I knew. I did enjoy the recent Mark Siwat cameo. The production on this show is solid, and I think the entire cast that returned has improved. Love Mechanics isn’t bad, but I don’t think it’s really for me.
Coffee Melody (Viki) - It’s fun seeing Pavel again! I don’t like his hair. I don’t like the pink hair either. I am deeply thankful that this show is not set in a school for once, and for that I will stick with it. I’m more demisexual than I am just gay, so I don’t always empathize with the characters who see someone attractive and immediately begin hitting on them. For that reason, I’m struggling a bit with Duen Yi, but I do love a confident character that knows what they want. I also appreciate that we get a budding romance where it seems like both parties recognize the mutual attraction and are both interested in exploring it. That is deeply refreshing for me in the genre.
Star and Sky: Sky in Your Heart (GMMTV YouTube) - I am going to be so relieved when this show is over. I have not enjoyed it. I don’t like Fah, I think Mek and Mark aren’t really in sync (or just can’t display affection with each other well). I don’t like the way women are used in this show. Worst of all: IT’S BORING. Unless you feel a sense of loyalty to the cast or the network, you can skip this one.
STARTING SOON
Nothing currently that I know of, though @iguessitsjustme has me wanting to finally watch My Day.
REWATCHING:
What Did You Eat Yesterday? The Movie -I’m showing it to my friend tonight! After that I’ll show her To My Star 2, and then probably 3 Will Be Free.

I’m sure there are others, but we usually have so much to watch that I just cannot remember much beyond the GMMTV offerings.

No offense to Sea but I feel like Jimmy and Drake would have gone places. Maybe I’m just a WaiKorn apologist (even though Wai deserves nothing) or maybe I’m in desperate need of Drake getting a lead role for once but I feel like Gmmtv dropped the ball with them and the popularity of their (ghost) ship. Anyway. Drake, Sing (and the rest of the so-called “best friend” actors) and all the actresses deserve more instead of getting crumbs. While other people reflect on their year in December, I reflect on all the shows I watched lmao
yeah jimmydrake were cute in bad buddy, though honestly my issue with jimmysea has to do with jimmy & not sea hcdsuicdhuisyhuc, I find sea really cute! also now drake has said he wants to focus on breaking in the american market in 2023 so it does make sense that he has only one upcoming role has kinda been shelved as an actor. personally I think drake would do great with anyone, that's why I'm kinda upset about him potentially stopping thai dramas, bc that's literally all I watch lmaooooo. but I do hope he achieves his dream, and I also hope all the people who have gotten crumbs get justice at some point, ESPECIALLY mond bc his treatment by gmmtv has truly been despicable. he's supposedly a fave of theirs & gave them their biggest straight romcom in recent years with boy for rent yet they've shelved him since then smh, I'm so fucking mad. hiii nonnies! i’m just compiling both of these asks because they’re asking about the same thing and were also two of the more... nicer formulated asks about this topic in my inbox honestly. i understand where you two are coming from (or the first person at least) because all of this has been really disappointing and seeing fans with substantial platforms (mine is more based on anons but you get the gist) not mention anything that’s been going on with their faves has been disheartening. so i’m just going to give y’all the benefit of the doubt here!
i did, in fact, talk about bright’s fatphobia. it’s a quick search on my blog, search “bright” or “fatphobia” or just go through my #gmmtv bullshit tag. here is one post where i talked about it. many people have gone into more detail about it as have i and i don’t want to be mean -- but i honestly think that y’all saying that because i like bright or because i have sarawat in my icon means that i would look past his fatphobia and a problematic comment is a little bit... rude? in the same way that i liked singto and new before this, i called them out as well for their comments as i did bright. i don’t know if y’all have noticed but i haven’t been talking about or rb’ing things to do with brightwin (as well as gmmtv men rn as well) because it felt in bad faith right now. but this isn’t about me, this is about what he’s said and the fact that an apology would be good from him.
something that must be taken into account, however, is cultural difference. this doesn’t excuse everything, obviously, and what he said is still problematic. i went into a little bit more detail on cultural difference and the inherent fatphobia rampant in SA and SEA communities and how it’s ingrained into the very fabric of our culture. i have been victim of the same remarks bright has said, in the exact same expression. i truly do think he needs to be careful with what he says and needs to educate himself on what he says considering the fact that he has a very large international platform as well. but fatphobia of this kind especially is something that needs to be addressed in asian communities at large.
i hope this cleared it up for y’all. i apologise if this came off as rude and will be more mindful in the future.

please never shut up about vice versa and puentalay and jimmysea. I'm curious how do you think if they will try to make their chemistry to look more.. idk passionate? to try some new dynamic (enemies to lovers for example or rivals to lovers) will they succeed?
sfjkshfksg looking at the state of my blog rn i'd say you don't need to worry about me shutting up about them any time soon anon (unless someone decides to put me out of my misery which at this point is probably only a matter of time)
i’d LOVE to see jimmy and sea play an enemies to lovers kind of storyline, and while i do think it would be a bit more challenging for them, i also believe that in the end they’d be able to pull it off brilliantly. i feel like when it comes to enemies to lovers a lot of people tend to focus on the physical tension between the characters more, but a big part of what makes this type of dynamic so appealing is actually the emotional intensity behind it, and if there’s one thing jimmy and sea have an abundance of that’s emotional chemistry
one of my favorite scenes in vice versa is actually the argument between puen and talay in episode 9 where they fight over puen wanting to stay in the alternate universe, because as painful as it is, it perfectly showcases just how well jimmy and sea feed off each other’s emotions while acting, which helps making the internal conflict the characters are experiencing feel that much more believable
that’s not to say they don’t have things to work on when it comes to emotions: in my opinion they’re way better at love and adoration than anger and disdain, so for an enemies to lovers story they would need to improve on that, but at the same time it doesn’t particularly worry me because they are so attuned to each other’s feelings that im sure they’d be able to draw out the right ones if it calls for it
as for more passionate and charged scenes, i was honestly very surprised at how good they turned out to be at kissing. not that i expected a dead fish kiss from them (it seems those days are ALMOST behind us, thankfully), but i sure as hell also wasn’t expecting OPEN MOUTHED MAKE UP SESSIONS WITH A SLIP OF TONGUE THEY WERE INSANE FOR THAT. so once again i think that they have a strong base to build on, though i’d say that in this particular case sea does need to become a little bit more comfortable with physical intimacy. if you watch their kisses in vice versa, it’s pretty obvious that jimmy has no problem with grabbing and touching sea during them, while sea tends to keep to himself a lot. it’s not really an issue with puen and talay because it fits with talay being shyer, but for future roles (especially if they’re part of an enemies to lovers story) i’d tell sea not to be afraid to grab jimmy back and push him around a little, because that helps a lot to make things more passionate and realistic
so yeah, they do need to work on some things, but honestly i think they have great potential for pretty much anything and im submitting my very own specific idea for a jimmysea enemies to lovers series to GMMTV as we speak
