My first post here! I'm using this space for any and all interests. above are my three horses. First is Waterford Blu, who is bred from my previous FEI schoolmistress, Raphaela. The next dark bay is Casanova ( We call him Novi). He competes Intermediaire I with my trainer. Bottom photo is my new mare Joylena, barn name Joie. That’s me on all three. More to come!

Got them back!
Featuring: Erin Murphy, Lana Marino, BOE Ronan and BOE Izak.
Years ago we were breeding Friesians and Baroque Pintos, but because we needed to downsize (haha, we never did) we had to sell out of them. We kept Fito as the only friesian, but sold all the others.
But now they are back! Or well, some of them are.
Yesterday we saw two of our offsprings for sale on some site, and decided that we needed them back.
So give a warm welcome to Ronan(Baroque Pinto) and Izak (Friesian)! The stallions has been living at different stables, but recognized each other, as soon as they saw each other! The boys who grew up together had clearly missed each other.
So Erin, our dressage rider/instructor, and Lana, our general horsetrainer, was out seeing what they could do. They moved like heaven, and are ready for the higher classes in dressage with the double bridle they had been trained with at the old owners' places.
Lana isn't exactly a dressage rider for higher classes, but Erin, being the lovely woman she is and also an instructor, helped Lana and they looked great together!

Nobody really cares about an appaloosa looking like it's got male pattern baldness as long as it's got a sufficient number of spots to distract from that. But then you see a solid colored appaloosa and that's all you can see. It's absolutely brilliant. It looks like a quarter horse tried to balayage its hair at home and fried all of it off with bleach. It looks like a 2000s celebrity having a public breakdown. It looks like its wife took the kids.

what if I posted an incredibly niche ethubs plot idea every day this week? what then?
well here is historical horse boy extravaganza:
the year is 1897. etho, a wealthy new york merchant's son, is returning home after a year abroad spent studying classical dressage at the spanish riding school. etho has always been obsessed with the classics, finding beauty in simplicity, form clearly echoing function. aboard the first class of the hypermodern ship lucania, surrounded by victorian sumptuousness, he feels trapped.
one other man in the first class cabin stands out. he has a drawling accent, wears a hat to dinner, and is usually surrounded by a gaggle of well-heeled men who treat him more like a zoo exhibit than a human being. etho learns that his name is bdubs, and that he's one of the last cowboys-- or at least that's how he was billed while headlining a european rodeo tour. bdubs is also on his way home, to an uncertain future. in this rapidly developing world, his skills as a cowboy are now only useful as a novelty.
etho is immediately drawn to him, and despite their class differences they quickly realize that they both long for the same thing-- freedom. oh and they both loooOOOVE horsies.

So I'm really not the biggest fan of tbs, considering they're really not what Im wanting for my next horse but oof - my coach has the sweetest and chillest (with me at least lmao) 3yro filly by lucky street (AUS) currently racing and depending on when she's retired from the track, I might actually consider buying her. She's such an angel with me and is super switched on and inquisitive about everything.

Another online dressage show under our belts🤝 We got a 1st in Intro B out of 7 with a score of 70.9% and then a 2nd in Intro C out of 3 with a score of 69%! The 70.9% score gave Honey high point Thoroughbred for the show! This show comes with all kinds of goodies and the high point ribbon came with a big can of hoof oil.

Brielle cannot be bothered. By anything.
A couple of other boarders wanted to see what the horses thought of a giant ball, so Brielle and I had to get in on that. I am so impressed by her reaction. She hasn’t been worked in weeks, she’s never seen a ball before, and she’s FIVE YEARS OLD. She’s such a cool horse.
And don’t worry... the run around the arena was for the fun of it. It started with her being startled, but then she just wanted to play. She came back to snuffle at the ball about thirty seconds after she was done running. She’s a happy pony.

Cruising through Training Level Test 2. Definitely some bobbles, but overall the quality of his gaits have come a long, long way. Especially that canter!

NSW State Championships 2022
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So on Saturday, Sky and I went to the NSW State Dressage championships. We were INCREDIBLY unprepared. Between breaking my hand in June, two months straight of solid rain and flooding and me being in Singapore the week before the comp. So she got ridden on wednesday and then had a week and a half off, had a lesson friday, and then we were competing saturday. Even despite that, and the fact that it was absolutely freezing, windy, and rainy, she was so good.
We had the 1B first. I am SO bored of that test haha. I've ridden it SO many times, first on Bob and now on Sky. But anyway, we warmed up fairly nicely, except that it was raining and we were both soaked to the skin. She was a little tense and didn't really want to bend to the left, but we went in and did a pretty nice test and got 64.6% which was a very fair mark. I was working pretty hard to keep her together, but she was obedient and did everything I asked. That put us into 7th place out of 13, and as they were awarding ribbons to 8th, that meant we got a ribbon! Which, given the circumstances, I was *not* expecting, so I was totally stoked!
We then had a big break before our next test, so I untacked and gave her some hay and went to the trade stalls where I bought a new jacket because I had VASTLY underestimated how cold it was going to be and was soaked to the skin.
Then it was time for the 1C, so we went and warmed up again. She felt a bit better this time, a little steadier on the contact. It was once more raining sideways for our test, delightful! But she did quite a nice test, it got better as it went. Our first serpentine was a bit wonky and she anticipated the canter a bit, but she was smooth and forward and rhythmical, and we ended up getting a 67! Initially this put us in 3rd place, and after tense wait, we finished 4th! I was so happy with her, with how willing and odedient she was. To go to our first ever championship, with basically no prep, and have her bring home two ribbons with such solid scores was just incredible.
I'm so lucky to have a horse I can pull out of the paddock with no prep, take to a huge comp, and still place. Can't wait to see what we can do when we actually prepare!

Still want drawing suggestions? How about the turtles as Olympic athletes? But like ones that go against their style. Raph as a figure skater?
That’d be hilarious! I can’t say I’ll be great at drawing this specific prompt but I’m definitely going to try it out.

starting over on a new blog sucks, but there's no better horse to christen my Tumblr than Ari, my lump-headed, target-stick-loving, racetrack failure.
