More Lore for everyone's current favorite doctor of
@ayviedoesthings 's Dragon HRT Series. Where did he get access to all the transformation HRT? Well, the research had to come from somewhere. Iris' response to
Fun fact of Iris' transformations: Her usual spells and the HRT are 2 different kinds of transformation. With the HRT overriding base, making it permanent. Where her quick transformation spells essentially are like a magical suit she can lock you into. But Someone can undo the lock if they are skilled enough in magic, and return you to base form. Like an advanced version of the watch which uses a digital projection over the physical form.

I love your dragon hrt comic although I am curious, where the the idea of "The crossroad" come from and, within reason of what you want to reveal (don't want to draw out unwanted spoilers) what is the goal with the latter part of the process?
The idea was to "simply" give a lore reason for both anthro and feral forms to be stable and valid forms in-universe, because anything inbetween is just pain and mental anguish
You could read it as the first half mirroring hormonal transition, and the second half being my take on bottom surgery

Hehe- it occurs to me I was thinking Alek when I said Dani, so ofc the Alek lore would be lovely too! Really just adore all these folks, you have a good cast of OCs!
aaa thank you!!
Alek, the original girl of my cast.
Tumblr media
Alek is probably the most fleshed out character in my roster, or at least has the most idle world building thrown in around her. Much like my dragon Vera, Alek is another former human within her setting, though this time it was more intentional.
As part of her astronaut training she chose to become a post-human in order to be better suited to her life being predominantly off-planet. This is mostly hand-waived in setting as making them better adjusted to living in micro gravity, genetic makeup being more resistant to radiation, general animal traits that might make them better at different tasks (like being a limber leopard when working in and around equipment). This is usually a bit drawn out, the changes occurring over the course of a few weeks as candidates complete their final courses, having selected a specialization. I came to coining this as "Space Animal HRT" in the time since I started my own transition. That being said, it is very common to see furry post-human folks around both planetside and off world, space program or otherwise.
Alek started off as "Aleksey" for the first year or two of them actually solidifying as a fursona. I ended up keeping this part of em in canon and had Alek go back and transition as well, becoming the Aleksandra of today.
Tumblr media
(still one of my favorite Aleksey pics, done by t0ddnet over on twitter!)
Born on the moon and went back to work on the surface post-graduation in a settlement around Mare Nubium (because I couldn't help having a clouded leopard in the Sea of Clouds). Later transferred up to an orbiting station where she works as engineering/maintenance staff, keeping the place up and running.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Work gets busy, rations are plentiful, and all that floating around does a number on your figure even with a compression bodysuit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bringing us to probably my favorite shape I've drawn her in myself up until this point. Marshmallow Moon Cat. Soft, round, but still surprisingly limber. Maybe she ought to turn down jobs that involve tight spaces nowadays.

So, um, it's time for Nehs to go off again on One Piece bc my gears are turning thanks to Lore Piece being solid as per usual. Spoilers for chapter 1097 are under the cut, as well as talk of some of the basis of Crocomom, a fanon theory I do not ascribe to but don't necessarily dismiss, so if you do dismiss it then don't read I guess.
Okay, um... so I've been kind of thinking that Bonney isn't really twenty-four years old for a while and something more like a middle schooler (10-14), but this chapter to me sort of soft-confirmed it, as well as set things up for this other crazy-ass fucking thing I didn't think was even possible.
'Cause the end of the chapter puts things fourteen years ago, right? No mention so far of a kid despite Ginny's enthusiasm to get into Kuma's pants. Oda would have mentioned a kid, especially if it was already ten years old. Kuma is too cute to have been a dad and NOT gotten a moment with his baby. (LORD ALMIGHTY why is Kuma so adorable in this edition of Lore Piece I just wanna smush his cheeks and tell him he's doing a fantastic job at caring for his flock and being a rebel.) This means that Bonney is one of a few things:
Kuma and Ginny's daughter they had after rescuing her, giving her a different family name to distance her from the Buccaneer race, ala Ace going by Portgas
Ginny's rescued relative we don't know exists yet
Kuma's adoptive daughter that he takes in bc she looks hauntingly like Ginny
Ginny's daughter from things happening while she was kidnapped
Ginny's clone in the Clone Trooper sense, taken and prematurely aged
Ginny's clone in the Boba Fett sense, taken w/o being aged
No matter how you shake it, unless Bonney is some until-now-unknown child waiting to be rescued, all of these options point to her actually being somewhere around tween/young teen in actuality but presenting like an adult in order to get taken seriously. The anti-eyebrow piercing would even play into that, being a potential way for a kid to prove they're so big and tough and able to run with the big kids take me with you Shanks I'm no anchor. So, we're getting to her true origins soon, also where Vegapunk comes into play, whether he is a cause or a secret-keeper or whatever.
Now, remember how I said something about Crocomom? As it turns out, I feel like if we get any confirmation for the trans!Crocodile fan theory, it's gonna be within the next two or three chapters. Why? I think Croc is potentially connected to whomever captured Ginny. Iva, being their fabulous self, is not above using their power to disorient opponents. While this could mean that Crocodile is a cis man but got temporarily femme'd and turned back after humiliation, it also leaves open the possibility for Iva putting Croc through permanent HRT for either punishment purposes (so unwitting ftm not changing you back candy you've been bad now go learn a lesson) or for negotiation purposes (already afab ftm but give us our Ginny back and I can make you grow a dick and lose your tit fat). While I don't think that Crocodile was necessarily designed to be transgender from the beginning, I also feel like Oda has to know about the Crocomom/trans!Croc fanon and he is specifically the kind of author who just shrugs and goes with shit fans make up. That's how he got almost all, if not every single, birthday for the cast, so why not this twist? Like, I wasn't sold on it the first time I encountered this theory, but like I said: I never discounted it because we never know what's going on in Oda's brain. He really gave us a good potential set up here, so it'd be weird if he didn't use it.
(I still think that Crocomom specifically is a long shot since Luffy's five at this point, so unless Dragon is going to potentially wage war on his ex/babymama and neither of them mention Luffy, it leaves even more parts of the puzzle that don't quite fit (and Croc wouldn't already be ftm bc that's a lost chance at a new character design, which we all know Oda is shit at resisting). There's a lot of them that already don't fit to me, but that's neither here nor there. I'm just concerned that even if we do have ftm!Crocodile thanks to Iva's Devil Fruit, that a lack of Crocomom would mean that One Piece has its own version of the Blaise Zabini Debacle in the works (apologies for bringing HP into it but it's true) and we as a fandom are better than that.)
OR I COULD BE WRONG ABOUT ALL OF THIS AND GINNY WAS CAPTURED BY MARINES, GIVING HER TO VEGAPUNK FOR EXPERIMENTS, WHICH WOULD LEAD INTO OTHER STUFF but yeah
None of this theorizing I think could have been possible, like, ten/fifteen years ago, because part of me feels like Oda has been putting his foot down a lot based on what it is we've been getting. Some stuff could have, yeah, been sort of meddled with by the editors/SJ at this point, but it feels like he's been able to get away with a lot more than he did before. Being such an important asset can do that.
...but yeah, if none of this happens (or is at least more firmly kickstarted) by chapter 1100, chances are that we're not getting it.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hades (green tun, he/him trans man) is some variety of petty criminal, hiding out in the orchard to get the law off his tail. only leaves the woods to pick up tools/ sell extra game/ pick up treats from that cute little bakery on the edge of town.
truffle (pink tun, she/her trans woman) runs that little bakery. she's pretty and sweet and giving and also a vampire. she makes sweets for all sorts of diets, including blood-based ones, but her goods are a treasure even for "normal" folks.
cicada (blue sd, they/it/he) is also hiding out in the orchard. theyre also a vampire! just a.. different variety. bigger, tougher. they're from somewhere Far and they don't really know how they got here, but they haven't had a proper meal in a long time.
hades is like,, a smug flirty asshole, but aloof and afraid of actual affection. truffle is incredibly patient and kind as long as she's fed recently. cicada is just kind of a big anxiety machine. all three touch starved as Fuck
i think hades gets pretty close with truffle, initially just like. "oh pretty girl maybe i can get lucky before i leave" and then he starts getting attached. visits her shop every day, brings her gifts, freezes when she pats his arm attached.
n he keeps thinking there's something following him in the woods- everyone tells him yeah, there's all kinds of weird shit out there, its probably just fishbone being an idiot tho. but he's getting freaked out. then maybe cicada tries to attack him but they're way too weak, he drags them to his camp and goes to truffle in a panic.
uhh vampire bonding? then gay thoughts etc etc poly
hades has only fairly recently started uhh dragon hrt, so he looks more like a fluffy hyena than a majestic lion
truffle never remembers to clip her mane properly, she usually just ties it back
cicada has a heavy accent no one can positively identify, and they cant clearly remember where theyre from

“elves don’t have facial or body hair” is a super weird facet of dragon age lore but i don’t ignore it simply for trans masc elf purposes. i’m sure it’s easier to pass without fantasy HRT when no other elven men have facial hair

lore release: cultural attitudes!
No silly character introduction here, folks; instead the staff would like to make a world building note. The real world is tough enough, and we wanted to create a fantasy world where the playing field was more fair. Simply put: racism, misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia do not exist in Aarne. Ableism exists to a minor extent solely because of the limits of medicine, magic, and technology, not because disabled people are seen as a curse. POC occupy noble houses & positions of prestige; gender exists on a spectrum & magical potions can be used as Ye Olde HRT; women can slay dragons and men can be seamsters. While there are major stigmas, taboos, and conflicts in Aarne, they will not be based on race, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
Disabilities & Medicine. Disabilities that a person is born with, whether physical or neurological, are not viewed as a curse or a reflection of the parents’ morality. Medicine in Aarne, however, is not advanced enough to treat all disabilities equally. People rely on magic to treat both physical and mental illness, but magic is not foolproof—and despite its transformative properties, it cannot help someone to regrow a lost limb, lost eye, etc. Prosthetics are not terribly advanced either, although watchmakers have been inventive in creating springs and gears to increase functionality. People with disabilities can meet a wide variety of responses: a physical disability as a result of some heroic deed will be looked upon favorably, but a physical disability as a result of a mistake or failure will be scoffed at. Disability is also treated differently between the upper and lower classes; because of their money, nobility are able to afford accessibility, but the fewer social expectations and proprieties of the common folk may be better suited to people with neurological differences.
Hygiene. The poets will write sonnets dedicated to your rotted teeth and smelly feet. Hygiene in Aarne isn’t the best; people don’t bathe regularly and plumbing hasn’t been invented yet. Some characters may be more aware of their own personal hygiene than others, but this is on an individual basis and society isn’t super concerned about it. People don’t understand what causes disease, why disease spreads, or how hygiene impacts this. In Aarne, people still believe in spontaneous generation and that your soul can leave your body when you sneeze.
Education. “what up i’m jared i’m 19 and i never fucking learned how to read” is the mantra of the majority of the population of Aarne. The nobility are the only people who can afford tutors for their children, but common folk may receive informal structures of education from village scribes. Libraries exist on a small scale, and consist mostly of a single person’s personal collection of books.
Work. Among the common folk, finances are so bad that everyone has to work in order to contribute to the household’s monetary resources. Depending on what their parents’ profession is, children may help milk cows, deliver shoes, help thieving parents to pickpocket, and so on. Becoming a merchant, a knight, or a city guard are the highest paying professions for a common person. Advisors to the king, diplomats to other countries, and other government jobs are reserved for nobility.
Names. If you’re looking to change your identity or evade taxes, you’ve come to the right place: record keeping in Aarne is a disaster, due in part to the fact that there is no single system of naming. Among the nobility, fixed surnames—which pass on from generation to generation—are necessary due to the importance of heritage, ancestry, and inheritance. Common folk, however, are less likely to use fixed surnames, and may not utilize surnames at all. Marriage does not require one specific gender to sacrifice their surname to another; noble families decide between themselves who will adopt which last name, and common folk may hyphenate or create a port manteau. Because surnames are so unreliable, people in Aarne are generally known by their first name and a descriptor of some kind, e.g, Jiang the Golden.
Marriage. To borrow lyrics from an Elle King song, “love is for the poor.” And even that isn’t always correct. Across classes, marriage is seen as an arrangement of mutual benefit. For nobility, marriage is a way of cementing an alliance or an agreement, and for common folk, marriage is a way of pooling resources. Lower classes, however, do have the luxury of being more able to marry for love; this is almost unheard of among nobility. It is extremely frowned upon for a noble person to marry a commoner, as there is no clear benefit to such an arrangement. No person can be married before the age of 18 in Aarne, as this is the age when they are legally and culturally considered adults. Marriages between people of the same gender are all equally valid. The law permits only marriages between two adults, but polyamorous marriages are culturally (if not legally) recognized in some villages.
Marriage Practices. Followers of The Under generally marry in the large cathedrals that have been erected in honor of the Under Mother. Followers of The Over generally marry outside, so that the gods of nature can witness the union (and intervene, if they do not approve; a sudden rainstorm on your wedding day or a falling tree near the altar are examples of signs that two people in The Over should not be married). Followers of The All-Around generally marry during transitional times—dawn, dusk, spring, autumn—because they consider marriage itself a transition from life as one soul into life as two souls. Before any wedding occurs, a religious official of The All-Around will attempt to contact the ancestors of the two people involved to see if they approve. Noble weddings are lavish affairs planned far in advance, with no expense considered too great. Obviously because the lower classes have less money, weddings are less grandiose. The exchanging of rings is typically only done among nobility, while the lower classes opt for more symbolic gestures, such as exchanging lockets with locks of hair inside or receiving matching tattoos. All weddings are considered religious, and are overseen by a religious official of some kind.
Divorce. Marriage, in Aarne, is meant to be an “until death do us part” situation, as it is both religiously and legally binding. Divorce on the grounds of unhappiness or irreconcilable differences is only permitted by The All-Around, and even then the marriage cannot be dissolved unless deceased ancestors grant permission. There is a stigma against people who divorce, even when they do so for the single reason all of Aarne accepts: childlessness. There is a stigma against couples who are unable to produce children, to the point where that snazzy genius King Odder has decreed that any marriage that does not produce a child within three months of marriage must be dissolved. (No, he doesn’t realize pregnancy lasts nine months. No, this policy is not clear about whether this means one party must become pregnant within three months of marriage or give birth within three months.) King Odder isn’t the best at following through on his decrees, so the results of this have been haphazard at best—most people are sitting tight and hoping their marriage goes unaffected. Some couples have lied about having children or have presented swaddled turnips and kittens as evidence of progeny, and it works.
Children. Children are viewed as the object that cements the permanence of a marriage. Obtaining divorce after having a child is much more difficult. Because of infant mortality & childhood mortality rates, couples are encouraged to have as many children as they can in the hopes that at least one will survive. Adoption is valid route to parenthood. Becoming pregnant out of wedlock is a huge taboo, and these children are unfortunately the victims of societal scorn. Those who father children out of wedlock are equally as ostracized as the mothers.
Sex & Birth Control. Herbal remedies that prevent pregnancy are available to people of all genders, although they are not foolproof. It is uncommon in Aarne to value virginity. Premarital sex is accepted so long as it does not lead to the conception of a child out of wedlock, which either leads to an illegitimate child or the embarrassment of an unfavorable marriage. Although marriage is rarely for love, having sex or a relationship with someone other than one’s spouse is considered risky; it’s almost worse to be married and have an illegitimate child than to be unmarried and have one. It isn’t outright taboo, but it is something that people may squint at because it can be seen as a betrayal to the allegiance that the marriage was supposed to cement. Unfortunately there is some stigma attached to sex workers because they are (wrongly) associated with murder, fraud, illegitimate children, and extreme poverty. Sex workers are trying to correct this perception and earn more rights by forming a union.
