The video of my presentation!
< A Video.
Raihan stands on a stage, facing the audience. He isn't wearing his ordinary uniform, instead in a simple white tank top and shorts. His hands are on his hips, and he seems rather confident.
"Hello everyone. This presentation, as I'm sure you're all aware, is on the specifics of handling aggressive or aggravated Dragon Types."
He tosses and catches a Pokeball as he talks, slowly pacing the length of the stage.
"Dragons are generally considered to be more aggressive Pokémon, and while this is true in many cases, it's not something you should immediately assume. Be cautious, yeah, but don't act like every dragon is going to maul you. A lot of the time, that's half the reason that attacks happen," He says, and tosses the ball in front of him. A Haxorus takes form, stretching itself and looking into the audience.
Raihan steps to the Dragon, stroking it's head. "This fellow was ready to kill me himself when we got him, but I knew how to deal with that aggression, and he's proven to be quite a nice little guy, after all."
"When you assume that a Dragon is aggressive, and immediately treat them like they are," Raihan takes a couple steps back, crouching slightly and pulling his arms up in front of his face, as though he were scared, "They're going to assume that they can take advantage of you."
As if on cue, the Haxorus lowered itself, stalking forward and hissing menacingly. Raihan takes more steps back, continuing to cower, before standing straight. The Haxorus lunges for him, but he steps to the side, and grins at the audience. The Haxorus shakes itself off, returning to his side.
"One way to combat this, is by literally combatting them. Dragons are territorial, but they understand strength well, and if you show them that you're boss, they'll most likely respect that."
He slaps his forearms, and runs a hand along the flat of the Haxorus' blades. "That's how I befriended this one."
Once more, he takes a step back, but this time he doesn't lower himself. Instead Raihan stretches to his full height, spreading his arms and adopting an offensive stance. The Haxorus mimics him, entering an aggressive stance and hissing loudly. As it growls, its tail lashes, and it swings its head upwards to display the large blades.
Raihan takes a step towards it, and they begin to grapple. Though, unlike their first encounter, it's clear that the Haxorus avoids cutting his arms. This is an example, for display, rather than a true fight.
They continue to shove and grab at one another, until Raihan eventually lowers the Haxorus to the ground. It stares up at him, tail waving back and forth slowly.
"It's probably the most effective way to calm an angry dragon, even if it may be dangerous. If you are going to do this, I'd recommend taking a class on self defense, or practicing with a calm Dragon that knows you, to reduce the risk of injury."
He grins again. "Obviously, jumping straight into fighting a wild Dragon when you have no experience with that sort of thing isn't a very good idea."
Raihan continues to talk, pointing out signs of aggression, and different warning that different species of Dragons use. He copies different sounds, and goes over other ways to tell if a Dragon is being aggressive, or simply frightened.
When he finishes, he gives a small bow before returning the Haxorus to its ball, and stepping off the stage.

Good morning, guess who found out their hotel is across the street from @official-raihan 's in the middle of the night? Awful, I'm old, I need my beauty sleep and the Dreepy were all alternating between scared and imitating the sirens. My revenge will be glorious.
Anyway, @pokemoncenter I'll be hanging out around the vendors before your lecture if you want to meet the Dreepy (their names are Morgan, Casper, and Ezra, they are so excited to meet you) before you go up, or I can show up to the stage right before if that's easier for you, just let me know! Also, please do not be surprised about my southern accent. I have been accused of faking it before, it's natural, I grew up in a small southern town.

Dragon con?
Dragon Con is the Dragon Convention!
It's an annual event and this year (this week!!!) is in Unova - Opelucid to be specific - from what I read, and I would have loved to go there.
While I'm not a Dragon-type specialist, I'd like to learn more about them! And the Dragon Convention is always a great place for lectures on the topic.
Also, Goobert - the mascot/poké-ambassador of a protected area in my region - usually attends such Conventions and similar events! And which event would fit best our dear Goodra if not a Dragon Convention? :D

I've been in contact with one of the presenters this year for Dragoncon and got a sneak peak at some of the research they are going to present. I can't say much since it still needs peer-review. But needless to say, there may be some exciting potential upgrades to fossil regeneration in the world. With their permission, I thought I would share a sketch I made based on their findings.

my husband usually attends dragon🐉Con but hes had afewnasty falls recently and doesn ' t think he' ll be able to attend this year... i am lookin g into Going in his stead...
I Haven't visited Unova in a long while so it will be nice to go again... I wonder if drayden will remember me I'm not the look er I was Back Then 😂😂😂haha x
Im getting my trainerCard redone soon so hopefully no Hiccups... though it will be a hassle getting the additional Pokemon cards filled out for the Cyclizar... arc bless xx

Overall I had a fun time today at Dragon Con, for a convention of dragon trainers it was surprisingly chill
Also got to talk with a bunch if cool trainers, I love getting different perspectives on pokemon training from different types of trainers

OOC- ON THE DRAGON CONFERENCE!
Hello all! I just wanted to make a bit of masterpost type thing.
I'm so happy that people seem to like my idea of a large-scale (Get it?) gathering of Dragon experts, and I wanted to have a way to organize-ish the happenings, make sure I'm following everyone who's planning to do something with it, that sort of thing! I would greatly appreciate it if you'd reblog this if you're planning to join in on this silly little event!
A bit of a side note, I know a lot of folks are diving in on the high-stakes stuff, which is fine by me, but I'd appreciate it if this could be kept more lighthearted. Thank you!
This event will take place in about a month as of posting this, and will last for about a week after starting. I'm going to replace my pinned post with this for the time being. Again, thanks for reading!

I talked with Mayor Drayden about my planned lectures at the Dragon Conference.
What I was originally planning on being one lecture with an unrelated note at the end has been expanded to be two full lectures.
First: Non-Specialists and Bonding with Dragons, where I discuss the ways non-specialists can use to earn a Dragon-type's trust. It will delve somewhat into the various ways people around the world have found ways to bond with Dragon-types, and standout methods.
@spirituallyghostly offered a Dreepy to help with this one, which should help immensely as a living example of my methods.
Second: The History and Typing of Unova's Legendary Dragons, where I will present my recent hypothesis on the Original Dragon's life cycle, its splitting, and posit a new typing classification for Kyurem.
@touya-san offered to be there with Reshiram to help, as the presence of one of the Legendary Dragons in question should lend credence to my hypothesis, especially if someone there can help think if ways to ethically test my hypotheses.
These lectures will at least be a couple days apart...
Side note, Mayor Drayden said that he thinks I would have made an excellent Pokémon Professor instead of merely a veterinarian... I don't know how to feel about that.
