#Donald is the best Uncle

Just listen (read), I can’t help but think that when Donald told that he was going on a trip with Daisy, we could only see Della’s reluctance to let him go.
Because I’d like to see the triplets not want to let him go too. He’s been their guardian for a decade, their whole life. They got a mom and Scrooge now, they have someone to take care of them. However especially with Della, triplets still have a long way to go to acceptance and harmony. I mean when something happened their first thought would be find Uncle Donald not mom.
Donald is their Uncle Donald. I don’t believe they could let him go that easily. Even realizing that he deserved rest because they obviously saw the amount of effort he put in. Huey even made Donald breakfast in the first episode to lighten his day a bit and support him before the interview. It would be hard for them to let go of someone they love so much and who loves them so much. Moreover, in the end it turns out that now they have to let him go not just with Daisy, but with other kids. Children are terribly jealous, it’s just a fact. Triplets would be jealous because, again, it’s their Uncle Donald.
I’m not saying Donald should be forever attached to them. But they are children, and the process of separation from parents is exactly the process, not one day.
Yeah, before that triplets sent Donald to a resort on the moon. But this vacation does not last too long. Besides, back then, they were swallowed by their mother’s acquaintance, this meeting took their minds.
This time it is a really long adventure, which can take a weeks, months, or even a year. And Donald will do it with the other kids.
I know triplets trust Uncle Donald and love him. But didn’t they just have a jealous thought in their mind for a second?
I really needed the triplets to react to Donald leaving.

A Logan Sargeant Primer: Part I (2000 - 2015)
Tumblr media
Logan grows up in a ritzy suburb of Fort Lauderdale called Lighthouse Point with his parents and his older brother, Dalton.
Tumblr media
The Sargeants don't have a deep motorsport history. Dalton and Logan get their first go-karts for Christmas in 2006, a gift from their father after their mother refuses to let her children ride dirt bikes anymore. Logan tells the NYT that:
“No one in the family was really even that much into racing. We just picked it up as a hobby, something to do on the weekend.”
The two brothers get more serious as the years go by-- within a few years, they're racing competitively. They both do well. Logan finishes in third place in only his first year of racing, and wins two titles in his second.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, they figure out fairly quickly that there isn’t much more room to advance in American karting:
My older brother, Dalton, and I had been racing for a few years, and it had gotten to the point where we were asking around about where the next best level of competition was, and everybody was saying the same thing…. It was always Europe, Europe, Europe, Europe. To the point where my parents really started to think about it. At first it was just this idea, like Maybe we’ll move to Europe, who knows. I was just a kid overhearing stuff, so I didn’t know how serious the conversation must have been until this day I’ll never forget.
The conversation gets serious in 2012, when Logan’s dad, Daniel, asks the two if they want to move to Switzerland:
It was summer, and we were out to lunch. It was me, my dad, and Dalton. [...] So we’re at this restaurant, right? Chowing down on burgers (my favorite), and my dad gets to asking us about racing. Finally, he’s like, “What do you guys think? Do you really want to race in Europe? Are you 100% sure about this?” Me being 11 and naive, I was like, “Yeah sure.”  Looking back on it, I think I was lucky I was that young and that I didn’t really know what I was signing up for. All the different ways it could change my life, the level of sacrifice it would require from my whole family. Because if I had known, I don’t know if I would’ve made the same decision so easily. It all happened fast, like in the movies. One minute, it’s Christmas, I’m six, and me and Dalton are yelling at the top of our lungs, excited about the two karts sitting in the driveway, pointed diagonally at each other like in a magazine. Next minute, I’m 11 and Dalton’s 14. We’re sitting at the table eating lunch with my dad, and it’s decided — our family’s moving to Europe.
When Logan tells the same story in GQ in 2023, he says:
I was always just going with the flow. For me it was just: sure.
The Sergeant family leaves for Switzerland just as Logan finishes up fifth grade. While Logan always talks about the family move to Switzerland in the context of his parents making sacrifices for his career, it's a little more complicated than that.
GQ’s profile steps around the subject, briefly mentioning that “in addition to the racing opportunities, [Logan’s] Dad had business there.” Unfortunately, business would be an understatement.
At the time, Logan’s dad, Daniel, worked for the family business– an asphalt trading and shipping company named Sergeant Marine. One of the driving forces behind Sergeant Marine’s success would be Daniel’s older brother, Harry.
When Logan’s detractors mention his family’s connections to Trump, they’re usually referencing Harry. The NYT describes his billionaire uncle as “a former [Top Gun] fighter pilot and onetime finance chair of Florida’s Republican Party who has been sued by the brother-in-law of King Abdullah II of Jordan and whose name turned up, tangentially, in the 2020 impeachment of former President Donald J. Trump. (Harry was not accused of any wrongdoing.)”
Harry would leave the company around the time Daniel moved his family to Switzerland. According to The Florida Phoenix, “The entire family was embroiled in a long-running bitter series of lawsuits that ended with a 2015 bankruptcy settlement. Harry III walked away with a cool $56-million. In return he gave up any claim to ownership of Sargeant Marine and other family companies. There were 14 different lawsuits in several states in addition to the bankruptcy. The lawsuits produced salacious testimony that could only arise in a vicious dispute between millionaires. Harry III accused his brother Daniel of spending millions on his sons’ pursuits of race car driving and other ventures. Meanwhile, Daniel accused Sargeant III of being a spendthrift on things such as a $7.5-million mansion, private jets and exotic cars.”
Tumblr media
Logan with his dad.
It would, somehow, get worse:
Oil and asphalt mogul Harry Sargeant III claims that industrial design plans along with recordings of "private consensual relations" were purloined from his private email account and traded off to a corporate intelligence agent as part of a years-long smear campaign against him spearheaded by his brother. Reigniting a long-running saga of brother-against-brother litigation, Harry Sargeant III claims that hundreds of pages of business records, personal discussions and "extremely sensitive videos and photographs" were illegally obtained from his email account. The material was used as currency for information-bartering between his brother Daniel Sargeant and a corporate intelligence chief at the nonparty legal service firm Burford, the lawsuit alleges. Harry is demanding damages for alleged invasion of privacy on the part of Daniel. The brothers had in years past worked together on managing the Sargeant family's global oil and asphalt empire, before intra-family disputes began to tear them apart. [...] The lawsuit claims the Burford investigator, a former corporate attorney, knows Harry well. According to the court documents, the investigator for years worked as an enforcement agent on a $28 million judgment secured against Harry by the king of Jordan's brother-in-law Mohammad Al-Saleh, who accused Harry of cutting him out of a deal to distribute oil to troops in the Iraq War. [...] Harry claims brother Daniel gave the corporate intelligence agent the treasure trove of Harry's emails  in exchange for inside information that would help the Sargeant family's asphalt company Latin American Investments in a separate multimillion-dollar legal dispute. Harry's underlying email account ran on a server of the family company Sargeant Marine. When he was ousted from the Sargeant empire, Harry had been told that the account was cut off at the root and all information in it had been destroyed, the lawsuit says. The lifted emails were instead provided to an "untold number of people" inside and outside of the family businesses in 2016, the lawsuit claims.
The information that Daniel traded his brother’s sex tape for would end up being useless. Daniel is currently out a $5 million bond and awaiting sentencing for the foreign bribery and money laundering charges he pled guilty to back in 2019. After bribing officials in three South American countries to secure asphalt contracts, the Department of Justice ended up making an example of the company– and Daniel– for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
While Logan cites his career as a big reason for the family move, it appears that Sargeant Marine had conveniently made shell companies in Switzerland to aid in their illegal business dealings that same year.
Logan, blissfully unaware of any drama, tries to make the most of the big move. They move to Lugano, Switzerland– Dalton and Logan go to the American School on weekdays and race on the weekends in the European junior circuit, bouncing them between Italy, Switzerland and Britain. In GQ, Logan says:
“I definitely felt like school was a lot more challenging than in Florida,” he recalled. “And we were missing a lot of school, for sure, but that’s part of it with racing. It is what it is.”
Tumblr media
Logan loves Switzerland. In his Players’ Tribune article, he says:
We moved into a three-bedroom apartment. It was me, my parents, Dalton, and our dog Roxy, the world traveler. Big difference from Florida. We had a whole new life. I loved Switzerland. I had a lot of good friends at my school there. I can’t explain it, but I just felt more a part of things. Me and my friends were big Chelsea fans, and we’d be hanging out, playing soccer all the time. We played Call of Duty like every other kid in the world.
However… Logan is the only one. Daniel is out doing shady asphalt deals around the world and suing his brother. Dalton moves back to Florida after a year-and-a-half. Their mother follows soon after that. Logan ends up living alone at the school:
Dalton was my older brother, so for as far back as I can remember, I was chasing him. Man, we fought all the time. Every race, we were up against all these other kids, but he was always the one I was really trying to beat. But the thing is, when you’re a kid you miss things. You just can’t see everything so clearly. Like, for instance, being a bit older than me, I think he felt the shift more strongly when we moved, but I didn’t know it. He stayed in Switzerland for a year and a half, did some European karting, and started testing Formula cars. Then one day he just decided he wanted to go home and race in America. I won’t lie, that was a shock at the time. But I get it more now. Making that big life change was hard on my mom, too. Just think, you’re living in this brand new place, don’t have many friends. Me and Dalton were at school all day. My dad was traveling all over the place with work, so he was hardly there. The reality is, she was on her own a lot. So she ended up going back to Florida, too. For about a year and a half after that, it was just me. I was living at the school during that time.
When talking about how his mom moved back to Florida while Logan was living alone in Europe as a teenager, he told the Players’ Tribune that:
Looking back on everything, I just see all the sacrifices they made, and it means so much. No matter what they were going through, my family always pushed me to keep going. I feel like that was probably the hardest for my mom, especially. She means the world to me. She’s a bit of a worrier too, and overthinks. I think I get that from her. She’s always been the person I could go to when I was doubting myself. So I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for her to encourage me to keep going, when I know she probably wanted our family to be together. I’m really grateful, not only that they believed in me that much, to move our entire family, but that they took my passion for driving seriously enough not to let me give it all up.
While Logan’s personal life may be troubled, his karting career is doing exceptionally well. In 2014, he wins the prestigious SuperNats18 in Vegas:
Infinity Sports Management, Facebook - SARGEANT DOMINATES IN LAS VEGAS. Logan Sargeant produced a stunning display last weekend in the TAG Junior category at the Supernationals race in Las Vegas. After finishing runner up in the race in 2013 Logan was eager to go one better this year and bring home the winners trophy. Although Logan got pipped in qualifying he still managed to win every heat ensuring he would start from pole position for the final on Sunday. From there he kept the lead and came home 5.6 seconds clear of the second driver. With this win in TAG Junior Logan become the first driver ever to win the TAG Cadet and TAG Junior categories at the Supernationals race.
Tumblr media
2015 manages to be even more exceptional. Logan starts the season by being the first North American driver to win a WSK event by winning the WSK Champions Cup in La Conca, Italy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Logan with his mother after winning the WSK Champions Cup.
The season reaches its peak with Logan becomes the first American to win an FIA Karting World Championship, the top junior series, since Lake Speed in 1978.
He gets to go to the FIA Awards:
Tumblr media
Logan: And I couldn’t thank my mechanic enough. And also my parents, uh, they really helped me to be able to win the world championship and it’s just an amazing feeling. Interviewer: I mean, did you, did you, what did you do when you found out you won? Did you call your friends at home? Did you phone your grandpa? What did you get up to? Logan: Uh, no, I just gave my mom and dad a really big hug. Interviewer: Is it still sinking in now? Logan: Yeah, it’s, it’s a really emotional thing. [...] Interviewer: Tell me about when you were a little bit younger than you are now. You’re only 14 now. But why racing, why, why is this so important to you? Logan: Um, well, my dad bought me a, a racing kart when I was five years old and we started from there. We thought it would just be like a little hobby and, uh, it ended up becoming like a professional thing we did. So. Interviewer: So, so was there a moment when you, when you or your dad just thought ‘Wow, I’m quick. I can do this’? Logan: Um, well, not really. We just kept progressing and then, um, when we, when we decided to come to Europe to race, um, we moved to Switzerland and from then on we were just, uh, going to school, I started going to school in Switzerland. And, yeah, and then we just kept going and then ended up like this. Interviewer: Do you have any other hobbies? Can you fit anything else in? Logan: Um, well, other than school it’s really hard. But when I get my breaks and I go back to Florida for, um, I like to go fishing a lot and, yeah, that’s what I do. Mostly.
Tumblr media
When interviewed after his win, Logan tells kart360 that:
Moving away from home is a very hard thing in your own personal life. You lose all of your best friends. You don’t have your "home" and you have to adapt to a different culture. It is hard to move to a country that speaks a different language than what you know, but racing is so important to me that I stuck through it and kept on going.
Logan clearly struggles on a personal level. He discusses his feelings in his Players’ Tribune article, saying:
Coming up racing as a kid isn’t easy. That’s the most honest way I can put it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said to myself, I’m done. I’m ready to come home. I’m glad I didn’t, but there were plenty of times when I wanted to. I remember one big time was the summer right after Dalton went back. We took this trip to the Bahamas with some of our extended family and friends. We were on the water, and everything was feeling like old times. And I think I just had this pit in the bottom of my stomach, like dreading going back. There was a night when I went to my mom, and I was like, “I’m just ready to come home.” I remember her asking me more questions about what I was feeling. I don’t even remember what I said, to be honest. I just remember that she didn’t tell me what to do. She left it completely up to me. My dad used to always say, “If you put in the work now, it’ll pay off eventually — it’ll be worth it.” And he kind of reminded me of that on that trip too. It’ll be worth it. Those four little words … that’s what kept me going. After that I sucked it up, went back to Switzerland, put my head down, and I went for it."
When Logan makes the jump to single seaters the next year, his parents rent him an apartment to live in by himself in London. The only time he’ll spend more than a few weeks in the US since he was a 12-year old would be during COVID.
But Logan’s time in single seaters will be for the next installment.
tumblr
Logan through the years.

Duck Comic Reading Club
Hi! Welcome to the blog. You are cordially invited to join us and tens of other tumblr users worldwide in exploring Duckverse comics!
To preemptively answer some potential questions:
"What are you reading?" We will start with the Paperinik New Adventures series, which stars Donald Duck as the Duck Avenger vigilante. Soon, we will also begin exploring the Don Rosa library of Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck comics alongside PK.
"How can I participate?" Other than reading the comics with us, you can post using the hashtags #dcrc (Duck Comic Reading Club), #dcrc week 1, #dcrc paperinik, etc. This blog will try to reblog and share content posted by readers here. Feel free to @ me or send asks or post submissions with your comments and reactions! Also, invite your friends to read along with you. The goal of this blog is to explore new media or return to old favorites together, and have fun doing it.
"I don't have physical copies or translations of this comic. Can I still participate?" Yes! (As always when it comes to free websites such as these, be careful and proceed with caution. Their content does not always have your wellbeing in their best interests.)
"Is there a schedule?" Yes. Your "assignments" begin each Saturday, with the first week being June 1-7, the second being June 8-14, and so on. The day before each "assignment" begins, I will make a post detailing the title, date, origins, I.N.D.U.C.K.S. link, summary, and so on of what we will spend the next week reading and discussing.
"What if I fall behind?" That's okay! Some of the issues are pretty long, while others are shorter; some stories require continuity, but others don't. (Some weeks, I have chosen only one story, such as the 26-pager The Son of the Sun by Don Rosa, because it is longer. Other weeks, I have chosen more than one, such as Mythological Menagerie and Nobody's Business, as they are 10 pages each.) Feel free to skip around as you like, but be aware that some comics may be a little confusing if you haven't read the ones before them (such as in PKNA).
See you on June 1!

Donald and Louie, never forget this man was 25 when he lost his sister, his uncle, his home and had to look after baby triplets all by himself in the span of a week. If anyone has the right to be depressed it's this character. Donald Duck 🦆💙 best uncle/dad in the fiction world.
Also my personal head cannon is for the first years of raising the triplets Donald wore comfy jumpers and didn't have time to get a haircut. Hence why I drew him like this.

It's been a while, but happy birthday again to one of my favorite comic book writers and artists, especially Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comics. And that is certainly Don Rosa. Happy 72nd birthday Don Rosa and thank you for the best comics!
And yes, his comics are not Ducktales and that should be clearly separated.

Another random worldbuilding linguistic thing: What about a language with a bizarrely massive vocabulary for relatives?
The finnish language has a separate word for "uncle" whether that's your mother's brother or your father's brother - and the latter one is used for General Unrelated Uncles like for the old-fashioned custom of teaching small children to refer to unfamiliar adults as "aunts" and "uncles". The Donald Duck -comics actually use the wrong one when referring to Donald in relation to his nephews, as they are his sister's children, though the otherwise spectacular finnish translation can get a pass since the first comics were translated and published before such background lore reached Finland, or was written at all.
Swedish has separate words for paternal and maternal grandparents, your mother's mother is "mormor" and father's mother is "farmor", and "farmor" and "farfar" for your father's parents. While finnish isn't as efficient with these, both languages have specific words for whether a grandchild is your son's or your daughter's offspring, or simply "child's child" (barnbarn) if you don't know the genders of either or - I presume - to remain gender-neutral.
So what about a people whose language has different and exact names for any kind of relatives, or can-be-regarded-as such people? Like there's a separate word for "aunt" if that's your mother's sister, one for your father's sister, and a specific "auntie" preserved for your mom's best friend who's not actually related to you in any way but they've been best friends ever since they were your age so that's your auntie now. And there's a specific word for your mother's sister's bestie, and so on.
So people who speak the language can go "yeah I've got fuck-all to do with this specific person but he's my father's sister's best friend's son", while trying to explain the relation in a language that doesn't have the same terminology. And someone else goes "damn, how the hell do you people always seem to manage to keep track of this kind of shit, I barely remember my second cousins' names."
And the person explaining just shrugs and goes "nah no I don't actually even know him, I've just heard someone refer to him as my paternal-honorary-cousin-once-removed in a sentence one time. I literally don't even know his name."

Happy 90th Birthday Scottish actor David McCallum.
Born as David Keith McCallum, Jr on this day 19933 in Maryhill, Glasgow, the second of two sons of Dorothy Dorman, a cellist, and orchestral violinist David McCallum Sr. When he was three, his family moved to London for his father to play as concertmaster in the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Early in the Second World War, he was evacuated back to Scotland, where he lived with his mother at Gartocharn by Loch Lomond.
McCallum won a scholarship to University College School, a boys' independent school in Hampstead, London, where, encouraged by his parents to prepare for a career in music, he played the oboe.In 1946 he began doing boy voices for the BBC radio repertory company. Also involved in local amateur drama, at age 17, he appeared as Oberon in an open-air production of A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Play and Pageant Union. He left school at age 18 and was conscripted, joining the 3rd Battalion the Middlesex Regiment, which was seconded to the Royal West African Frontier Force. In March 1954 he was promoted to Lieutenant. After leaving the army he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (also in London), where Joan Collins was a classmate.
David McCallum’s acting career has spanned six decades; however, these days he is best known for his starring role on the police procedural NCIS as medical examiner as Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard. I first really remember McCallum for his role in another US show, The Invisible Man which ran for 13 episodes in the 70's. McCallum by then was a veteran of many TV and Film roles, starting in the 50's including Our Mutual Friend and The Eustace Diamonds, in the 60's he was in several ITV Playhouse shows before moving across the Atlantic to take roles in The Outer Limits and his big break as Illya Kuryakin in several incantations of The Man from Uncle.
His most notable films were The Greatest Story Ever Told as
Judas Iscariot and of course Ashley-Pitt 'Dispersal' in The Great Escape.
As well as the aforementioned Invisible Man in the 70's he took time to pop back over to our shores to star in two quality series, as Flt. Lt. Simon Carter in Colditz and Alan Breck Stewart in an adaption of Robert Louis Stevenson's, Kidnapped.
The 80's saw him team up with the lovely Joanna Lumley in Sapphire & Steel and several guest roles in the likes of The A Team, Hart to Hart and Murder, She Wrote as well as a one off reprise of Illya in the TV movie The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E.: The Fifteen Years Later Affair.
The 90's saw David in Cluedo and Trainer on our TV screens over here and American science-fiction series VR-5 in the states..
During the last 20 years or so he has been in the kids TV show, Ben 10: Omniverse as the voice of Professor Paradox and of course Donald Horatio "Ducky" Mallard in over 350 episodes of the popular NCIS.
David has been married twice. He married his first wife Jill Ireland in 1957. They met on the set of the movie Hell Drivers. Together, they had two sons and a daughter, Paul, Jason and Valentine, with Jason being the only one who was adopted. In 1963, David introduced Jill to his co-star on The Great Escape, Charles Bronson, and she left David and married Charles in 1968. In 1967, David married Katherine Carpenter and they have two children together, a son Peter and a daughter, Sophie. He and Katherine currently live in New York.
In NCIS since 2018, Ducky, played by McCallum, has appeared in fewer episodes. avid McCallum explained that appearing in fewer episodes will allow him to see more of his family, which includes his wife, children, six grandsons, and their cat, Nickie. According to IMDB he has chalked up an amazing 457 appearances in the show, morethan anyother character in the series.

Okay but the thing about DT is that they’re related, but it’s still a found family. No one fills a traditional role, there is no nuclear family, and thats what makes it all so much more powerful, is that everyone had to chose and fight to have that role.
“Donald is the triplets’ dad,” no, he’s not. That’s the point. He’s their uncle, and was always gonna be their uncle, even when everything was all sunshine and roses they were all going to be growing up in the mansion together. But he’s not their dad, he’s their clumsy, lame-ass, too-loud, long suffering uncle, and that doesn’t make that role any less influential and important, because he had a choice, and gave up everything to raise them safely.
Della should have been a given, but they didn’t get that chance, so what would have been a no-brainer became an uphill war to get home to the only traditional family spot, one they left open for her. She wanted it and fought for it in a way that bio-parents traditionally don’t have to. And the kids fought for her, too. She wasn’t taken for granted, and they fought to have a relationship with her memory before they even knew she was still alive. Once she came back, they had to start fresh, and you have to want it to make it work, and they did.
And I know I’ve got kind of a brand with my writing, but Scrooge isn’t, and was never, the twins’ father. He’s, again, their uncle. We didn’t seem much of Donald, (he was caught up in his own grunge thing,) but he had his rich uncle back and forth thing with Scrooge, and Della made him up as some god-king that she had to unlearn later, but they had a relationship offscreen pre-series. We’ll never know in canon what happened to their household, but he was an influence outside of their nuclear family, and he chose to take them in when they couldn’t be with their mother and father anymore. He went out of his way to raise them, and was he the best parent? No, of course not. But he brought them in. They were just his kids, and he let that be a complete sentence.
I could talk endlessly about Webby’s found role in the family. Bentina’s not Webby’s mom, she’s her Granny. (I’m not looking at the finale, I don’t know her.) She took her in. Webby’s not the triplets’ sister, they took her in. Donald grouped her in immediately. Della never knew any different, and how different is 4 from 3 anyway? You literally watch Scrooge decide to be her uncle onscreen.  (fine I’m looking at the finale-Choice is endlessly more significant than sharing DNA. “He’s her dad,” girl he already chose her, you’re undermining everything, he didn’t chose to have a daughter, he loved a little girl enough to make her his niece, it’s enough.)
LP was at their first Christmas together. They loved him enough to call him family. They loved Lena enough to call her family. Dude, even Goldie, she’s not Louie’s mother figure, shes a mentor. She’s some cranky old bitch from Canada who accidentally let slip she has a heart, and who she is was enough for them to keep dragging her back until it stuck.
No one was taken for granted. They literally made their own family. It’s enough. Send tweet.

Full Name and Family Headcanons
For the extended 141 family plus the fruity bastard betrayer (derogatory (affectionate)), some more complete than others. If any of this is directly contradicted by canon, I don't care, that's why they're headcanons
Soap
John Steven Donald MacTavish
Two loving parents, the youngest with at least 3 older siblings, all sisters. Closely enough related to the Chief of the Name and Arms of MacTavish to a) be considered low upper class and b) know his exact place in the line of hereditary succession. Also the kilt he wears on special occasions is always the modern MacTavish tartan, do your research. Grew up in Bonnyrigg outside Edinburgh and is emotionally attached to Sir Salter Scott
Ghost
Simon Lorcán Riley
Same family and circumstances as '09 Ghost (extremely poor, abusive dad, oldest of two boys), but give him loving maternal grandparents and three cousins. He's Irish by ethnicity and heritage, which a few family members kept alive and passed down to him, but British by nationality. His great-great-(great-?)grandparents migrated to Manchester during the Great Hunger, but his aunt moved back to Ballylongford where some of the family originally lived. His cousins and maternal grandmother are all alive but think he's dead and he keeps it that way for their safety. His middle name is after his maternal grandfather who died when he was young and was given to him by his grandma. I do also hc he's trans and have a deadname headcanon for him but I don't share those. The specific neighborhood he grew up in inside Manchester was Beswick
Gaz
Kyle Adam Garrick
Grew up in Brixton in London, relatively poor with two loving but working parents, but also with an enormous tight-knit community and more neighborhood aunties and uncles and cousins than he knew what to do with. Has one baby sister but she's 20 years younger than him so she's a baby baby and he was already enlisted and moved out when she was born
Price
John Matthew Price
Grew up in Anfield in Liverpool, near the football stadium. Avid fan, ropes Ghost into Liverpool vs Man United debates every season. Ghost doesn't even like football. Middle class, working dad and stay at home mom, older sister, younger sister
Roach
Gary Parker Sanderson
Working poor, older sister, younger brother
Laswell
Katherine Emma Laswell
Middle class child of divorce, no step-siblings or step-parents, lesbian wine aunt who's basically Kate Kane (coincidentally Kate's favorite superhero)
Nikolai
Nikolai Antonovich Pokrovsky
Absent parents, one younger sister
Farah
Farah Leyla Karim
Canon family - two loving parents killed by AQ, one older brother. Her middle name is the Georgian spelling of the Arabic name Layla (see my post about Urzikstan and Abkhazia for why this spelling)
Alex
Alexander Jeremiah Keller
Two older sisters, two triplet sisters (one an hour older, one three hours younger), two younger sisters, single mom, also raised by aunt and grandmother
Alejandro
Alejandro Ernesto Vargas Leon
Grew up working poor, dad died when he was three, mom had to work, older brother 4ys older took jobs for the cartel starting at 12-ish to make ends meet and left Ale as the "man of the house" at 8. Also has one 4ys younger sister (same dad, mom was pregnant) and 12ys younger twin baby brothers (different dad who chose not to be in the picture, oopsie babies). He loves the twins but wants to hang them upside down by their shoelaces more often than not, his sister is just as mischievous but more mature and subtle about it which made her easier to raise
Rudy
Rodolfo Ildefonso Parra Rosales
Born into a poor family, cartel killed his parents when he was three, adopted by a single mom after that. His new family is unrelated to the Cartel but his bisabuela is just as feared and respected as El Sin Nombre and La Araña before her, if not more in some parts of the city. Learned his best chancla skills from her. Only child but grew up in a massive multigenerational multifamily home with at least 20 older cousins - was the baby until he was 7 and now he's the second youngest
Graves
Phillip Windsor Graves
Upper class, born to parents who had an heir to the company because it was expected of them but who didn't actually want or like kids. Essentially raised by a rotating cast of nannies

Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck as superheroes - T-Squad - Regular T-Squad vs My version of T-Squad - Quack Pack Week - Supeheroes - Quack Pack, Quack Pack AU and Duckverse
On April 15, 1938, the famous trio appeared in the classic Donald Duck short, called “Donald’s Nephews”, which will change the history of the Duckverse in part.
I know it's been a while, but on the theme of Quack Pack Week on the theme of superheroes, I draw Huey, Dewey and Louie as superheroes, and also to draw them for their birthday, since I can't forget the underrated version of Donald's nephews, one of my favorites and that is the Quack Pack version. Yes, the teenagers Huey, Dewey and Louie like to read a lot of comics about superheroes and they also wanted to be superheroes and in the first episode of Quack Pack "The Really Mighty Ducks" they became superheroes with the help of a machine by Professor Ludwig von Drake and that like T-Squad. T-Squad actually stands for the Tremendously Talented Trio of Truly Trusted Trouble-Shooters and is made up of Donald's nephews. Huey is The Really Incredibly Fast Guy (like Flash), Dewey is Brain Boy (a bit like Megamind, and like Big Brain from Marvel) and Louie is Captain Muscle (like Hulk). And they became superheroes just to disobey their uncle who ordered them to clean their room. This reminds me of something, doesn't it?
However, there is also Huey, Dewey and Louie from the Quack Pack as my version of the T-Squad, i.e. my superhero imitation for the triplets. They too like to read comics and love superheroes, but they became superheroes in a different way through their connections with their role models, such as Darkwing Duck, Gizmoduck and Duck Avenger (Paperinik), the patrons of Duckburg and St. Canard. If you know from my older drawings Huey is Red Shadow (the inspiration is taken from Shadow and Darkwing Duck), Dewey is Blue Cyclops or Techno Duck (the inspiration is taken from Cyclops from X-men, Ironman and Gizmoduck) and Louie is Green Avenger or Paperinik Junior (inspiration certainly taken from Duck Avenger, but partly from Spiderman, Batman and Green Lantern). Granted, I haven't made special versions for them yet, but I'm definitely working on it, and they'll be in my fanfictions in the future since that's how I envision them, and it's part of my Quack Pack AU.
However, I drew both versions of the T-Squad to show some comparisons and similarities, and admittedly there are differences between them. Both versions of Huey don't really get along, and both versions of Dewey marvel at each other, while both versions of Louie like to show off their muscles. Well Louie as the Green Avenger doesn't have very strong muscles, but he tries to be. At the end there will be a poll as to which version of T-Squad is better, the official one from Quack Pack or mine or both. And yes, I drew as a background behind them the Money Bin, since they are the Duckburg defenders, even though I know Scrooge's vault was not a Quack Pack, it still is in my version of a Quack Pack. By the way, I kind of prefer my version, and let's not forget the song about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE7U0RqRLD4
I just wonder where they would join, the Justice Ducks (the group led by Darkwing Duck) or the Ultraheroes (led by Duck Avenger (Paperinik)) or if they have their own group like the Teen Titans? Also this drawing is intended since this drawing is dedicated to the given topic. @quackpackweek
I hope you like this drawing and this idea of Donald's nephews as superheroes (besides the Quack Pack, Donald's nephews were the only superheroes in a few comics) and feel free to like and reblog this if you're a fan of Donald's nephews and superheroes! I just ask that you don't use these same ideas of mine without mentioning me and without my permission, in terms of my version of a superhero for triplets. And happy belated birthday to the best trio!

(For context, Discord recently added the polls feature, and upon getting it yesterday, I tested it out by asking the above question in the server. Soon, I realized I never used Tumblr's poll feature and decided to bring that question here for all of Duckblr to answer. Happy voting!)

Scrooge: Everyone, I have terrible news, as it turns out my trusted colleague, Bradford Buzzard, has been secretly working for FOWL this entire time
Della: {raises hands in the air} CALLED IT!
Donald: You did not…
Della: Yes I did! Ever since we were kids, Donnie, I did not trust him! I always said he was evil!
Donald: No, all you ever said was that he was a stick in the mud with a stick up his butt
Della: Well I’m wasn’t wrong there! Freaking bald bastard
Scrooge: Della! Please…
Della: What?! He’s officially a bad guy now! I’m just insulting him with straight up facts about him
Scrooge: Well some of us here are still processing the fact that a close colleague of ours would do something like this
Louie: {sudden realization} …He tried to kill me.
Della, Donald, & Scrooge: WHAT!?!
Louie: When I was the richest duck, he suggested that I turned off the magical defense system that was holding the Bombie as a way to save money! There’s no way he didn’t know about the Bombie, right? So yeah, I’m waaaay past the whole “processing” part. I’m ready to start making fun of the bald bastard
Donald: Louie!
Della: Wait. Bambi tried to kill you?
Scrooge: Getting back on track, all of us need to stay alert! We cannae trust anyone anymore, so be aware of anyone suspicious
Louie: Like Uncle Donald’s new girlfriend?
Della & Huey: WHAT!?!
Dewey: Yeah, you guys didn’t hear?! When Louie and I executed our brilliant plan to help get The Three Caballeros on Ms. Glamour’s It List, Uncle Donald fell in looooooooooovvvvve!
Della & Huey: OooOOooooo!
Louie: {shows the two a pic of Daisy} She’s like a 9 while he’s a 5 at best
Della: {looks at the phone} Hmmm…Oh yeah that is suspicious…
Donald: Oh gee, thanks everybody
Louie: Okay, sorry. High 5
Dewey: {slaps his hand against Louie’s}
Huey: Uncle Donald, we’re all just surprised AND happy that you found someone!
Della: Yeah. Wish you told us sooner, that’s like major news there! That’s like if you never told the boys about me when you and Uncle Scrooge were raising them Webby: Well actually- Scrooge: {jumps in before Webby can say anything while Donald silently mouths the words "Not now!" as he shakes his head at Webby} We all need to be extra careful these days. Gyro, how is security at the Bin? Gyro: Better than ever, Mr. McDuck! Nobody will be able to break into the bin without my knowledge Huey: What about Mark Beaks? Gyro: No! That was a fluke... Dewey: Glomgold? Gyro: He had the stopwatch! That doesn't count! Louie: Gee, I wonder how he got his hands on that... Gyro: Oh I don't wanna hear it, Green Nephew Della & Donald: Louie... Webby: ...Oooh! What about Agent Dee? We haven't heard from her in awhile and she might break in! Fenton: Ha-ha, whaaaaaat? Gyro: Like I said, security is better than ever and it is impossible for anyone to break in. Right, Dr. Intern?! Fenton: Yeah, right...{phone buzzes} So is this meeting over, I gotta go... Della: OooOoo. Got a hot date? Fenton: YES! I MEAN NO! I MEAN...I gotta go! {walks out of the room} Della: {whispers to Donald & Gyro} Oh he's seeing someone. And they're totally doing it Donald & Gyro: {exasperated sigh}

Duckverse June Week 1: Happy Birthday to the Duck Twins and Daisy
Round 2 of Duckverse June is now under way! (@duckversejune2024) Once again, I promise that @secret-tester, @queer-in-a-cornfield, and I will do the best we can as your hosts. That, of course, doesn’t mean we’re not gonna do the prompts ourselves, though.
So to that end, for Week 1, I give you…
The Perfect Cake
“No. No. No. Oh, gosh, that’s extravagant. No. No. Definitely not.”
Donald was feeling anxious. His, Della’s, and Daisy’s birthdays were all coming up. And within two days of each other, no less.
He and Della were planning a day out for their birthday, just the two of them, before celebrating with their family. As for Daisy, he wanted to take her out to dinner. Beyond that, he wanted to make her a cake. But even looking through the cookbooks at the mansion, he still didn’t think he’d found what he was looking for.
“Uncle Donald? What are you doing?”
Donald whirled around to find Huey standing behind him.
“Oh. Hi, Huey,” Donald greeted his oldest nephew. “I want to make a cake for Daisy’s birthday, but it’s so hard to choose what kind to make.”
“Hmmm…” Huey pondered, tapping his chin. “Does Aunt Daisy have a particular kind of cake she’d like?”
“Not really, no,” Donald lamented. “She has her favorites, but when I asked her what kind she wanted, she told me to surprise her. So it could be anything! What am I going to do, Huey?”
“Okay,” Huey answered. “First thing, Uncle Donald. Take a deep breath.”
Donald breathed gradually, calming himself down.
“Good,” Huey continued. “Second, you’ve totally got this! You could make Aunt Daisy literally any cake in the world, and she would love it because you made it for her. You’re a very romantic guy; no matter how you make the cake, the most important ingredient is heart.”
“Heart,” Donald repeated.
Wait. Heart. Donald suddenly thought back to that one time he brought Daisy over for a date on the houseboat (the one that Storkules third wheeled on). He had made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the shape of hearts. That was brilliant, actually.
“Heart! Huey, you just gave me a great idea!” Donald gave the boy a quick hug, and rushed back into the kitchen.
Huey was surprised. What could he have said that got the gears in Uncle Donald’s head turning so quickly?
“I did?” he called out, confused.
Donald hadn’t found anything in any of the books for a peanut butter and jelly cake, but he could look on his phone. He saved the link, just to be safe, looked for the ingredients, and then got to work.
He made the cake, and while each of the layers were baking, he set to work on the frosting and ganache.
Della soon wandered into the kitchen. “Hey, bro, what smells so good? Ooh, peanut butter,” she remarked, swiping a finger through the frosting.
“Hey!” Donald exclaimed.
“I’m surprised you didn’t anticipate for me, Donald,” laughed Della.
“Old habits die hard, I guess,” groaned Donald. “Anyway, if you must know, this cake is for Daisy’s birthday.”
“Oh,” Della replied. “Ohhh. Like your first date on the houseboat.”
“Precisely,” Donald answered.
Della put her hands to her heart. “That’s really thoughtful, Donald. I’m sure she’s gonna love it.”
“Thanks,” Donald replied. “I’m glad to see it has your seal of approval,” he added while noticing a bit of frosting still at the corner of Della’s bill.
“Also,” Della continued, “I wanted to confirm if you booked us for laser tag already.”
“Don’t worry,” reassured Donald. “I’ve got it all taken care of. Sunday is all about you and me. The itinerary is good to go.”
“Great,” Della answered back. “Ooh, I can’t wait! Okay, you’ve got Daisy’s cake to knock out, so I’ll leave you to it.” And she gave Donald finger guns as she reversed back out of the kitchen.
Donald shook his head and laughed. Della was a pain in the tail feathers, but he could always count on her as his biggest supporter when it came to Daisy.
It was Friday. Daisy’s birthday. She had to work for most of the day, but Donald took her out to dinner at a nice restaurant, while May and June were sleeping over with Webby.
Donald was anxious. He hoped that Daisy would like the cake. Daisy, on the other hand, was rather excited. She couldn’t wait to see what Donald had come up with for her birthday!
When they got back home, they made their way to the kitchen, where Daisy sat down at the table, while Donald took the cake out of the fridge. Daisy was practically on the edge of her seat.
“Alright,” Donald announced, removing the cover from the plate. “And…voilà!”
Daisy gasped. It was a very lovely cake, decorated with a rich peanut butter frosting, and garnished with two strawberries, with the words “Happy Birthday Daisy” written on it in pink writer’s icing.
“Do you like it?” Donald asked.
“Like it? I…I love it,” Daisy proclaimed. “The piping work you did is impeccable. What exactly is it?”
“Peanut butter cake, peanut butter frosting, and strawberry jam ganache,” listed off Donald.
“Why, I-like our first date,” Daisy gasped.
Donald nodded, a proud grin on his face.
Tears welled up in Daisy’s eyes. “How exactly did you come up with it?”
“Well, it wasn’t all me,” admitted Donald. “It was Huey that gave me the brain spark, and I just went from there.”
Daisy grabbed Donald’s face and kissed him appreciatively. “Oh, Donald,” she whispered. “It’s lovely. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, my love,” Donald replied. “Now, why don’t I get some candles, and then we can eat?”
Daisy nodded. And so, after Donald got a good picture of the cake, as well as of Daisy blowing out her candles, he cut into it, and then he gave a piece to Daisy.
Now Daisy could get a good look at the inside of the cake. Of the three layers, the two on the inside were frosted directly on top, and then had the strawberry ganache added on.
She took a bite. Perfect. The cake was nice and moist, and the frosting wasn’t too overly sweet.
“Delicious,” she said to Donald.
“I’m glad you like it,” Donald beamed.
“Now go on, try it,” Daisy urged. “The master chef needs to sample his handiwork.”
Donald blushed, and carved out a slice for himself.
‘Ooh, yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum,’ he thought. Now that was some good cake.
