something about how when a guy sonic character has nothing going for him in canon or is from a game people dont like people will flesh him out and write 500 page fanfictions about him detailing their au backstory for him anyway. if he does something really really bad whether it was a mistake or fully intentional people are willing to think about and understand why he did what he did. or theyll just ignore it entirely or blame it on bad writing. but when a girl sonic character does any of those same things shes treated like the spawn of satan

If Kipperlilly DOES end up betraying Porter/Jace as part of a secret other scheme she has (whether good or evil) and it has to do with saving Lucy, I just know she’s going to be a bitch about it and pull a ‘sorry, I only save High Five Heroes’ before leaving her other friends to die or some shit. And then she will take her final form: Magic Betty from Adventure Time, betraying her allies and saving her frost gf at the expense of the world. It would also parallel what Ankarna is going through (‘your girlfriend’s out of town, it sucks’, becoming a little imperialist rage machine under the influence of Porter/Sunstone but not being able to fully turn on Lucy despite going against her values and turning into a violent weirdo). This is my wish. My dream. I am manifesting it. Magic Betty Kipperlilly I believe in you.

alright, since the Remedy brainworms got me I've been replaying Control, got to the AWE expansion last night and picking up on all the echoes/foreshadowing for Alan Wake 2 is making me go utterly bonkers, but like. has anyone picked up on or talked about how in all of Alan's Hotline messages to Jesse, when he's writing about her POV, he exclusively calls her 'Faden'
like, maybe it didn't poke my brain the first time I played it since he does the same thing when talking about Hartman, but coming from AW2 it's pretty jarring as a stylistic oddity...almost like there's a reason (in-universe and/or out-of-universe) that he doesn't call her 'Jesse'...almost like there's only one Faden in his story...
and given how in AW2 we also get some (quasi-) clarification regarding the limits of Alan's ability to "make stuff up" vs alter and rewrite "real-world" events that he sees in clairvoyant flashes...given the Night Springs screenplay pages you can find in AWE that parallels the FBC and the events of Control (i.e. a Director and a Scientist opening a portal to another dimension, finding an eldritch Entity, the Director trying to take its power for himself and then getting taken over before shooting himself)...given how literally all of the "dreams" Dylan tells Jesse about are descriptions/viewings of stuff that takes place on one level of reality or another ("I was the director and you were an intern"; "we were in a game, and it was a fucking boring game but you couldn't stop playing it"; Mister Door, and "a world with a writer writing about a cop, and another world where the writer was real"; a "musical" about Jesse), except, seemingly, the dream about "Jesse Dylan Faden"...
guys. are you picking up what I'm putting down here. guys. GUYS

👁️👁️ INTERESTING...............
Idk if I feel like hunting for it but I do think it's VERY interesting that Ginnungagap's map is the World of Steel (thinking of that one scene where you get a glimpse of it in Book 4, once the Kiran kinning Alfonse twist is revealed) ALSO is interesting that it's in ruins, if I remember right the people in the World of Steel don't dream in exchange for a life of comfort and luxury (which! I personally like to retcon for my own purposes LMFAO but canonically speaking! HM......... the being of nothingness residing in a realm that can't dream......)

People are leaving some very kind words on that post I made on the depth chart and the significance of tpwbyt ending at the depth it does (tysm!!) so while I do not have a concrete answer on the other depth numbers beyond a basic assumption, I will add two more things
1. The depth chart starts at 914m, with Atlantic.
Dozens of different factors contribute to how deep light can penetrate in water, but by definition the Mesopelagic Zone is specifically the transition between where ~1% of sunlight can still reach the water and where it can no longer be seen at all. It begins at a depth of 200m and ends at 1000m.
In other words, with Atlantic, 914m below the surface of the ocean, Vessel's starting the album already in the absolute last vestiges of where any light from above could possibly reach him.
2. The underwater speed of sound reaches a minimum around that depth as well.
This also varies greatly by composition and conditions but between about 600 and 1200m, with an axis usually depicted at around 1000m, various oceanic conditions align to allow sounds to travel up to several thousands of kilometers with little change before dissipating.
So, if he was singing loud enough, at similar depths you would theoretically still be able to hear Vessel's voice from halfway across the ocean. As could any other creature occupying the same range, provided it has the means to hear it!
