ok, so i didn't know about the newsletter that came out for Wallaru, but believe me when i say that i am. not too fond of the phrasing
i am fully on the side of "the young wizard is Far From Okay." (indeed influenced from @/stormbreaker101)
so to see that the writers went down the path of "the player is happy about being the hero, despite their actions" doesn't. sit right with me. it's prolly just to keep the ESRB rating to be like E10+ or whatever, but it jus. doesn't make sense to me

i know megalovania was overplayed and remixed all over for the longest time and sans became one of the most infamous characters ever overnight but if you were there playing undertale before being spoiled, there is no denying that sans is a badass, however flawed he may be
megalovania is fucking sick and fitting for a climactic final battle between a demon hell-bent on destroying the world and Just Some Guy who's almost lost the ability to care anymore but even still manages to stand up against you when it really matters the most, because he does still care underneath all his nihilism and depression, he does want to save the world even if it doesnt matter since you can just reset all his hard work away...
but he still isn't so resigned to this fate that he'd simply let you past without a fight, it would be so easy for sans to just let you go through, but he doesn't, he beats your ass into the ground until you figure out how to surpass him, and every step of the way he's telling you that you're making the wrong choice, knowing he's going to die no matter what he does but fighting and trying to teach you (just like his brother tried) anyway
#sans is a sad hero because he knew he could never win#undyne is a sad heroine because she didnt know she could never win#i could go on and on about undynes genocide fight too#ik a lot of people in-fandom judge people for playing genocide route but its the only way to see some characters' truest selves#seeing how papyrus dies believing he can save you never once trying to fight you#even a morally-neutral guy like mettaton uses a hidden secret form he never uses in neutral routes to try and stop you#the same exact type of thing happens with berdly in deltarune too#he drops every last inch of his farcical dudebro personality instantly when he realizes noelle is in real trouble#which gave me much more respect for him than the paci route did#flowey who encourages you to kill throughout the entire geno route eventually caves and becomes childlike in fear when he realizes#just what chara really is (with your help)

I think Spamton was so compelling as a secret boss compared to Jevil due to how unsecret yet unexplained his entire story is.
You don’t have to go out of your way to find Spamton unlike Jevil, you literally cannot miss his initial encounter. His faded presence is all over the city, posters, the highway, even the castle with the unmarked bowties, implied to be his old merch. He is a ghost on the conscious of many in this world despite being right there. With Jevil you more so encounter him where as Spamton encounters you and forces you to help him finish his story. I mean, the alternate route literally has him as the final boss. He is so pervasive and we get so much but also we truly learn nothing about him.
He was the email guy and was a failure at it. Why? No one knows. He got a mysterious call that somehow shot him to stardom. How? Not even he knew and he had the voice whispering in his ears. He was deluded with visions of heaven and grandeur and warped. When did it happen and what did it? Quintessential parts of his story are left out, not even him being able to tell it, yet, it doesn’t feel unfinished or barren. It is a puzzle with all the pieces and an incomprehensible order, a picture we cannot place.
Spamton is intriguing cause just like those after his bygone era, to us he is a face without a name. We know about him but not of him, sorta like a infamous legend.

Will never get over the time I was trying to beat Sans and was 3 attacks away from doing so

you should 100% play deltarune!! it’s free and the first chapter is a lil slow but the second chapter is soooooo good there’s so many secrets and the world building is very good 10/10 play it if u have time :D

concepts for Wing Gaster as a shitpost secret boss in deltarune
Wing himself is the dark world form of a rotten egg that was left sitting out on the counter, above a trash can. after the fight he falls into the "CORE", and when you return to the light world the egg has fallen into the trash
the fight would be a huge fakeout because it's hyped up like it's actually the real gaster, but it's just this guy
also his song would be a remix of Wing's actual battle theme from Battle Mode but with a bunch of fanservicey motifs shoved into it (freedom, pianpian, penumbra phantasm, etc)

some details about my mcsm fangame !! :
☆ the game engine used to make it will be GAMEMAKER (some other games made using this engine are undertale, deltarune, hotline miami, and more)
☆ the game will be 2d, however it will be made with 3d mineimator renders (if you need an example of what i mean, think of fnaf)
☆ you will play as jesse, but you only have 3 choices: male jesse, female jesse, or an enby/nonbinary jesse which i will model myself (the jesse variants will be the green suspenders / red (?) hair clip ones). your gender will not change the date-able options or the story!
☆ the date-able characters will be lukas, petra, olivia, and axel
☆ depending on which route you choose, there will be fights with other characters! the fighting style would be most like omori i think
☆ there will be TONS of easter eggs, such as ocs, secret items, and even a secret date-able
☆ voice actors will not be hired. the dialogue would appear in a text box, along with undertale-like dialogue sounds taken from their official va's voice
☆ i am doing this entire project by myself at the moment. this includes creating the renders, modeling background characters, modeling BACKGROUNDS, making music, programming, etc. please know that this will NOT come out anytime soon, and being rushed isnt my vibe. im still thinking how i could get volunteers to help, but im kinda braindead atm. if you guys have any ideas lemme know! :)

ALRIGHT, over the last week I've been binge-reading this entire series from start to finish, and I've gotta say you've got me hooked. Love where it's going so far! With that in mind, I've got a couple questions I'm curious about. No worries if they're in spoiler-territory and can't be shared, though!
1: so, since Kris and Frisk can see UI elements like their inventory, does this mean they could see the save menu and its save data, too? And if so, did Kris learn anything of interest from it?
And 2: I stumbled across a past ask that mentioned Kris's player has a similarly playful gremlin disposition... Does this mean Kris basically had a mutual prank war going with them? Were there any particularly funny moments where they messed with each other for a joke? Because ngl the idea of Kris deciding to fight God and win via prank war is probably a lot funnier to me than it should be.
Hey, thank you so much! Super happy you're enjoying the comic so much!! As for your questions...
The two of them are definitely aware of their save files. At the start of Deltarune when you encounter your first save point you can actually see that Kris already has a save file that they created on their own. But you end up overwriting it with your name that you typed in during the vessel creation section. As for the menu interface thing, they probably see the whole layout in a kind of a daydream like setting. For when the Player turns of the game and does something else. It would be just a second for them, while in reality it is much longer.
Kris sees their Player as a (so far) benevolent bully. The Player hasn't made them do anything bad per se, but Kris is clearly reacting much stronger to having someone take control of their body. This is most likely due to actually having experienced a normal life before being possessed (unlike Frisk, who doesn't remember it). In the game you see them manipulating the Player's choices either by the tone of their voice, or how they sometimes look away or close their eyes when the Player wants to look at something that relates to their family. Kris has their own way with dealing with bullies. This is more apparent when you read through Noelle's secret blog posts that go deeper into how Susie used to try and bully them.
