We had an exercise in my Digital Art class to "draw ourselves as a specific anthropomorphic animal and depict them from the front, the side, moving, and performing an action", and I thought I might share my piece here as well since I think it came out really cute!

I went with a bald eagle bc I think birds can be really expressive and I like the idea that I'd be like, the chicken of eagles, if that makes sense lol

#art #digital #kirby #kirby gijinka #magolor #for further context see my previous post #also sorry I had to explode him a little bit I didn't feel like adding another column just for the legs without plating #and I didn't feel like drawing the legs from the back either so I comporomised #the traitor magolor/EX piece is almost done just gotta color the legs and tweak some things #I tried to design the legs myself at first but they were not very good and then I remembered I have a friend who does mech commissions #and I've been on the lookout for a solid excuse to commission a friend for a while anyways #very happy with the results #I love how the hips are so cool but literally nobody is ever going to see them #this is like wearing heart-print boxers. To him #oh and the plating is also held on with magn- I mean magic so that during the Epilogue some pieces can either be lost #or he just doesn't have enough magic to spare to keep all of them on #I like how the legs look at a glance like they could be fully mechanical but they barely are at all. It's all about facades with Maggie #although in Deluxe it's not really much of a secret that he's a wizard #that's also why they're made to look like cat legs #because I decided the Ancients are actual catboys LOL #I don't know why he lost his legs btw I just though prosthetics would be nice for all the logistical and character and aesthetic reasons #he can still fly/levitate without them btw it's just less taxing this way and he doesn't have to have his wings out. I (finally) finished concepting the siblings!!! This is Goldrake, who uses He/Him pronouns! This design for REAL gave me so much trouble. Like, the sketching and lineart process went as smooth as butter, but the coloring just HAD to give me issues. Thankfully all of that mess is over now lol

As I mentioned in the notes of an old post, Goldrake is the second youngest of his siblings and is a Decepticon troublemaker. He's snarky, and often makes jabs at authority figures even if it ends up biting him in the ass later on. He couldn't really give any less fucks if they hear him or not. In fact, he's counting on it!

Even though he's a Decepticon, he still has a soft spot for his siblings and makes exceptions for them at their requests. Especially Silverfall, whom he's always had the deepest affections and care for. If he met Karma and learned about what happened to his brother....let's just say that things would get violent frighteningly quickly. Goldrake would probably drag it out, too

He's a part of a sabotage squadron, and is frighteningly good at what he does. What can he say? Charisma can take you a long way if you use it right. Let's just say that Goldrake has had plenty of time to practice and get the skill under his belt. He could probably gaslight someone into thinking something was their fault even if there was literally no way for them to be involved.

Oh, and he's a mnemosurgeon, as a treat.

I hear that soldiers often crumble under the weight of their own blade, bearing witness firsthand to the aftermath of decisions of the rulers above them.

You hold your blade high, Soldier, and lie in wait. For what, I do not know, but you wait still, muscles tense and heart thundering. Rival the storms, old soldier, make kings quake in their boots for daring to cross you.

The idea of Narry holding the title of soldier was inspired by this post from braisedhoney (his creator). It got me thinking, since little series is about turning these titles on their heads a little, why not put him in this role? He always seemed like the the puppet master type, a silver tongue befitting a poet, and the gleaming shine of a crown clear across his temple, but to put such a strategist on the battleground.

l can only imagine what fate would befall all parties involved.

They say speak softly and carry a big stick,

but i venture to say,

perhaps we aught to speak firmly

while carrying a shining blade at our hips

I just wanted to show you people this amazing podfic podfic_mcgee made and which I made the cover art for. Ey did an amazing job (go listen!) on this nice small moment between Robin and Max right after Starcourt.

I also just kinda wanna brag a bit about this coverart tbh ^^ I'm really proud of how it turned out, it took ages to get their silhouettes looking right and I learned so many things about photopea in the process. But I'm just really proud of it and I love the story and the podfic so I wanted to share <3

#voiceteam is bringing me life at the moment #my team is so lovely #I spent a long time on another piece of coverart in photopea today as well #which presented whole other struggles #but it is really fun #and well it might be a nice transition to actually trying out drawing digitally sometime #the other times I tried that I got so overwhelmed by the settings i stopped quite quickly #but maybe this more directed approach will help me acclimatise #here's to hoping anyway #kirokiro
