King Candy's Trans Coding (hear me out)
The fact Turbo could've coded any look for himself, and yet he went with King Candy, an identity that embraces aspects of femininity. Gender nonconformity probably wasn't the intention- his design has more of a focus on being royal. Aka. "I'm superior to everyone." But even those outfits are more feminine-leaning, with the tights and frilly-lace fabric y'know. Not to mention his mannerisms. Being a silly clown guy is Not in fact a part of the gender binary
Also Turbo never seemed uncomfortable with his new identity as King Candy, and not only did he embrace it- He was OBSESSED with it. He put his FACE on EVERYTHING.
like what the fuck even is this.
But one thing for sure is that King Candy doesn't resemble anything like his old self. That might've been out of necessity to stay hidden, but the "hiding old self and presenting in a new way" theme is Still There. And that new presentation happens to incorporate aspects of gender expression his previous identity did Not have. (am i looking too deep into this? perhaps.)
OH BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART.
I find it interesting King Candy was never appalled by his new Cybug form. Cuz when encountering Ralph it was never: LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME...
It was: LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME :)
it was EUPHORIC for him. Because he IS a monster. "BECAUSE OF YOU RALPH, I'M NOW THE MOST POWERUL VIRUS IN THE ARCADE!!" This form finally reflects his true self and what brings him the most joy. and that just so happens to mean being parasitic, powerful, and sadistic. which. well he should work on that
But what matters is he's in a drastically different body now and he LOVES IT. this is literally the HAPPIEST he's been ALL MOVIE.
Is That Not a form of Identity/Gender Euphoria.... ? ??

right so first I heard that the orbs on King Candy’s crown are ferrero rochers and then I proposed the possibility that his collar and wristcuffs are based off dessert doilies
and now according to someone’s twitter reply (a fan btw, not someone from the actual wir staff), his Cybug form’s wings are apparently made of sugar glass 😳

Small side story fr: king candy and eixe.
I’m only writing this to explain how they meant for my fic over on AO3, plus I doubt I’ll put it in the story.
In the last nights of the dark web, rumors spread of a wild beast rampage small business. Efforts in catching whatever it is were fruitless. Some describe it as a large bug others say it was a colorful shapeshifting cat. No one at the time truly knew what this thing was. All they knew was to catch it and kill it before it started to go after bigger lots. Raining and cold, turbo was laying in a pile of wanted and newspapers in a dark alleyway, trying to stay under a awning as the rain continued to fall. Only his upper torso was dry while the rest was cold and wet. “Stupid internet rain.” He mumbled under his voice still trying to keep himself warm and not die of a cold. “How does rain even work here?! It’s stupid!” He leaned against the wall and grabbing more papers to cover himself in. Yet the rain gotten to them before him. Cold, tired, and alone turbo was starting to regret even coming here. A place far from different from where he originated from, and was throwing himself in to something way out of his prime. He admits his old for this, but struggling to even survive here was ridiculous. So much for him to try and become the most powerful virus for the internet.
The rain eventually stop, letting the clouds part and reveal the already night sky. Now resting his head in he arms he felt a sudden calming aura, hugging himself just to keep this feeling. Looking down at his hand, see the purple and pink fade into which other, realizing he’ll never go back to his once normal human like body after everything his been through. That was until he hear someone coming nearby. quickly hid behind a dumpster as best he could, he had heard that some of the people here were planning to killing him. So the most logical thing to do was to hide from them as best he could, if the cy-bug part didn’t come out every time he was hungry or frustrated. Regardless he attention was back on what or who was coming near to where he was. CRASH! A metal pipe fall on the ground as the sounds of someone running, they soon turned a corner and jumped in the dumpster. A few seconds later two others ran passed were they are and continued to run away, completely missing them.
This person soon climbed out. Relief that they were no longer being chased, “finally I got them off.” They said wiping the sweat off and turn around to walk out of the alley. That’s wend they came face to face with the beast. Long neck, giant bug like body, and a glitchy head. “GAH!” They yelled falling back as they looked at it, ready to scream more be form it covered their mouth. “Shhh! Are you trying to get us killed here?!” He whisper before feeling their tongue on his hand, “Ew! Why you do that?!” Turbo yelled out and saw them trying to run away, “HEY!” Turbo quickly grabbed them by the ankles and lifted them upside down.
“Ah! Please don’t kill me!” They screamed, “What? I’m not gonna kill you.” Turbo said back, slowly placing them down. moving back to were he was, resting in the pile of now wet paper like some dog. “Now leave me alone.” He snapped at them, now resting his head in his arms. Eixe, still confused at his actions due to hearing all about him and all of his destruction. look at the beast’s living conditions, cold wet dirty old alleyway and alone.It was sad to be honest. “So… you’re the beast everyone’s talking about?” They asked. “Yeah, that’s me. Now go away.” He once again barked at them, starting to get a bit pissed off that he was know as “the beast.”
Still could he blame them for calling him that. After all he couldn’t really control the cy-bug part of him. Once a beloved racer was now reduced to… this. “What exactly are you?” Eixe asked slowly inching closer just to get a better look at him. As for turbo gave a side eye, want them to go away, but given they haven’t run away at this point. He might as well introduce himself. “I’m a man fused with a cy-bug.” He answered, not bothering to look back until he felt them on his back. “So what’s with a colorful candy colors?” They asked again, toying with his wings and his candy neck. “Hey what are you-?” At this point eixe was climbing all over him, getting a better understanding of his body. “Its from my previous body, now get OFF!” He wiped his tail to hold them upside down and roughly dropping them on the ground.
After a hour long explanation of his life’s story. (Only revealing he was turbo and was swallowed by a cy-bug, and not mentioning he took over a child’s game) turbo let out a sigh and went back on the wet paper pile. “There, now go away.” Saying with annoyance as he was just tired by all this. Eixe on the other hand was still intrigued, and saw a opportunity with it. “Hey, why are you just sitting here in the cold rain anyways? Shouldn’t you be out trying to- oh I don’t know, take over this part of the internet?” They ask, turbo sigh and explain once more, “I tried, but when you’re a old arcade character like me, and missed so much. You can’t really be a threat when you don’t even know what you’re doing.” He answered with a bet of sadness to his voice, finally saying the obvious (to him) aloud make him realize that there was no point.
“What if I help you?” This alone raise a brow. help him? Where they seriously asking to help him, with out a second thought? “Why would you want to help me?” Turbo natural asked, already getting suspicious on this one person. A person who he knew nothing about, they were as shrouded in mysterious as their face. Cover up with a mask. A mask that would change expression and color. “Well, with my knowledge of the webs and you’re undisputed terrifying appears and abilities. You and I could be a pretty good team.” Eixe continued “think about it, you already gave half of dark webbers scared already, with your frantic attacks. With me by your side. We’ve be unstoppable.” They finished and were awaiting turbo’s response.
He was in deep thought. Yes it would be nice to have someone helping him navigate this lands but at the same time… how could he trust them? But how could he not trust them? His gut told him to take the deal but his brain was screaming not too. With mush though put into it, he came up with his final decision. “Alright,” he said “I’ll take your offer, but. What’s in it for you in all this?” He asked getting up from his sad nest, fully revealing how huge he was compared to exie. “Oh nothing really, it just feels right. You know?” With that exie and turbo became partners. As turbo was walking out of the ally, exie walked over to the pile of old newspapers and wanted posters. One in particular they pick up and placed it in their pocket.
From that day, the day turbo showed his face, truly revealing his person was a day that would go down in history in the dark web. And add with his uncontrollable cy-bug side only made it all the more better to prove that point. For everyone,to the avatars, users, and all who work within the space. King turbo and exie appeared out of no where. Scaring even the darkness of users and avatars in the darkness reaches of the web. Yet over time, not only where they feared but beloved by all.
This took long then expected, I might just put in in the fic but who knows, also please tell me if I wrote something wrong. That would be a big help. Thanks for putting time in reading this and enjoying it? Maybe? Idk. :P

i was rechecking the sugar rush race storyboard and it turns out jeff diffenderfer updated the wreck it ralph page, now it has more concepts and a small explanation of how the actual track was designed and all that thingamajin. i couldn't not post a few of the things i thought were interesting!
vanellope with racing clothes instead of her hoodie, also king candy giving a death glare at poor ol vanny for the crime of being fast and cooler than him
in one of the alternate storyboards, king candy is using a game genie cartridge what
love it when small 8bit characeters. that's not a guy who destroyed two games and took over another letting a child be bullied and ostracized for fifteen years, that's a fuckimg crecher with no thoughts in head. literally 🟥👍

i cant believe we missed sugar rush rainbow road 😭😭 like its understandable not all ideas can fit without dragging the story but i can and will cry over the fact that there where so many concepts for tracks and obstacles and yet disney is never gonna use them for anything (and by anything i mean a real and true and good sugar rush game)
