Thank you @atomitron for the tag, happy holidays. You are good at something I have a hard time with, which is shading and rendering something past a messy sketch, something I still don't quite understand with digital art - This one I might post a little later tonight or tomorrow when I feel done with it. The maple leaf on the Canadian flag is deceptively difficult to draw on the first pass. 2/10 do not recommend :P Trying to learn shading using the folds on the gi here. I feel like I see it but I don't know how to put the shadow down or something? Who knows
Chapter 10 of Long Time Running was released on December 3rd. I think it's one of my best yet, and it shows off where I forge my own path as a writer. There's backstory for Jack involving fragments of Nora and a chance to show Olivia his life as a boxer in one of the last great boxing matches their world had before the bombs fell, certainly one of the best of his career. OIivia explains her judo belt and mastery. I MADE VIDEO GAME NERDS READ RJ AND DEACON WATCHING A BOXING MATCH Curie written the way I wanted as a bilingual person with French thoughts in the opening theatre in my war on writing Curie and Cait as "Character With Accent" caricatures which involved thinking and researching and reading and.. I've used the Bescherelle for the fanfic. I had to draw upon people like ma grande mere Thérèse et ma tante Jaqueline and so the fic has 100% of me in it now because Curie is my Acadian auntie and she's gonna make me croquettes de poisson ignoring that Curie is based on a girl from France
We work as hard as we research, but we also listen too - Chapter 11 has a new playlist incoming. This will be a difficult chapter to write, but there's another side. We'll see what the future holds for the kids - I'm excited as hell! :) tagging @edaworks and @vault-heck @incognito-insomniac @pchberrytea @electricshoebox

This will also be the penultimate chapter, after that it’s just the Grande Finale of Sailor Pluto’s stories (and we finally get to know where that trauma comes from).

WIP Wednesday!
Iiiit's that time again! I was tagged by @just-another-wasteland-merc and I'll tag in turn @just-another-ghoul-lover @adventuresofmeghatron and@sendhelporcaffeine if y'all wanna join!
Y'all got lucky, I was taking a few day break from writing and hopped back on last night. Here's a sample of what's to come in UTSS.
The bathroom of the house had been cleared for the x-ray setup, a sturdy door stood, warning others of what lay inside. Deacon went to follow the pair in, but Curie stopped him as she donned a heavy looking apron – lead and rubber to shield herself from the radiation.
“I am sorry, but you must wait outside for this. It will only be a few moments.”
Deacon wandered back into the living turned triage room, trying to resist the urge to fiddle with the strange, high-tech equipment. Nothing like this outside of maybe Vault 81 nowadays, he thought. He was surprised there weren't wastelanders from all over flocking for care, though with only one doctor they’d be in for a long wait. There were tanks of… something funneling off to rubber hosing and masks, a machine with a pair of paddles on cords, and whatever the hell an oximeter was. All of shiny in proper vault blue and white, tidy and organized. Asher would probably know what all of this did, but to him it was a bunch of flashy gizmos he couldn’t make heads nor tails of. Interesting nonetheless. Glass vials and bottled medication stood neatly on the shelves, a bin filled with scattered dirty needles. He wondered how this would compare to a pre-war doctor’s office, what else could they have had that had long been lost?
Temptation gave way and he was just about to pick up one of the paddles on a thing labeled an AED when he was interrupted by the pair reentering the room, Asher hopping back onto the gurney.
“Please do not touch that, you may risk electrocuting yourself!”
“I’d say your hair would stand on end, but…” Asher flashed him a mischievous grin. “I heard you suffer from a ‘chronic case of bald’.” So they did remember.

Unspeakable Granger wakes up with missing memories in Hogwarts...in 1942. Hermione might not remember much, but she knew that even post-Voldemort, there were many wannabe dark lords she and her friends had to fight against. The world wasn't automatically sunshine and roses just because they've defeated Voldemort.
Also, go back? What go back? If she doesn't even know how she got here with all the wounds she had, then there's really no guarantee that a safe way to jump forward exists!
Yet the possibilities that are open to her...
if she could change the wizarding world half a century earlier, maybe they'd be more prepared against dark lords in the future. Perhaps a better world for the friends she'd left. With this in mind, Hermione Curie (Granger) sets out to use her field healer and master arithmancer abilities to the fullest (if she had to invent a couple of things earlier than they actually happened in her old future, so be it). Not to mention that in her very-biased-opinion, the wizarding world needs to be dragged out of its old prejudices, kicking and screaming if necessary. But who is that particular prefect? Her mind itches at seeing him…

in this AU, Narrator and Stanley are thieves with superpowers who steal things for Curator, an old colleague of Narrator's who runs a museum and art gallery and thus has the lead on objects of value or power that are better left out of private galleries or public circulation. They work together well... enough.

LORE QUESTION LORE QUESTION
If Haste was able to hunt well enough to feed Blitz and Lookman throughout the famine, is there any reason as to why the three (especially Haste) didn't offer some of their food to the rest of hotel? Was everyone unaware of their existence at the time, so the three didn't even know that there was a famine, or was it for other reasons?
Still working on that but
1. Haste (especially) and Blitz are not nice and would not share except for with eachother (reluctantly) and with Lookman (Generously) during a famine. My boy was gaining weight during that event not losing it. /Pos.
2. They likely were hidden somehow-???? The separation/how they weren’t aware of eachother’s existence…bit- uhhhhh.. sorry but (wip) I think Curi had something to do with it though. Maybe it fed them the whole time.
Blitz thought Rush was long dead, though.
Or maybe they were vaguely aware but in like the close neighborhood kind of way, but never intruded on their privacy. That’d be funnier.
That’s what I got on In my brain. I need to write this shit down I have semi-coherent timeline in my head. Thank you for reminding me lol.

I'm sooooo tempted to ask about the Pleasure Dom Leon wip, but I have to stay loyal to Daddy Death and ask about "Curie Gets in Trouble" 😊💙
Haha! The pleasure dom Leon one has pretty much turned to hard dom Leon at this point, to be completely honest but I haven’t changed the file name yet. 😂
As for our sweet Daddy Death, here's a tinny tiny snippet of what's been in the works for ages now (😭). Currently, the placeholder title for this fic is Louder Than Mercy but we shall see if it'll stick.

Your eyes narrowed into a cold stare. A minute change of expressions which didn’t go unnoticed by him. If anything, that splinter in your blithe façade only served to kindle a glimmer in the depth of his icy blue eyes. To him, you were just another book to spread at the spine.
And well, spreading you wasn’t anything he was a stranger to.
“Maybe I should remind you how serious this is,” you said in a harsh whisper, tone cutting. “Now’s not the time to be a wiseass.”
A languid airy chuckle burst from the Curator’s lips in response, his eye briefly roving your sweet face. His fingers began creeping across the desktop through the clutter towards your thigh, stopping just a touch shy of the slippery fabric swathing the curve of your hip.
“Why, I certainly find it hard to be serious at the moment – or with you, for that matter.”
Soft shadows cast by the candelabrum danced like a bevy of wispy ghosts across your face as you tilted your head to the side. If his comment struck a chord within you, it was difficult to pinpoint through the hard look set deep in your eyes.
“Is it because you don’t see me as a threat,” you started slowly, your voice a careful whisper, low and smooth. “Or is it because you always find a way to convince me?”
His fingers slithered on top of your thigh, the sensation of his touch luxuriant like the very silk on your body. It was gentle and tempting, making heat flutter deep in your belly.
“Perhaps both.”
It was a simple response, afforded by all your previous visits, birthed from the past experiences you shared with him. A vicious pull and denial which had roped you in this situation in the first place. You were both pawns in the other’s play.
“Perhaps you are that easy to sway, little Havoc.”

anyway taking a break from other aus because i've been thinking about my fallout au a lot lately! i'm currently building Eventer in fallout 4 to get pic refs but that'll take me quite some time. for now, an updated version of the au framework!
i wrote this: "since we have joe, bk, and ky now i have to add them! i think bk and ky were traveling together for awhile, both of them being from a recently opened vault. joe i think is someone from a different settlement that takes a shine to michael and follows him to Eventer." in a different post but i already want to change that so *scribbles over it* REDO god this au has so many retcons already
i had to read more this bc i started fucking RAMBLING
gavin is not a vault dweller, he is a mr. handy who was put into a synth body (like curie) this explains his british accent and also i think it just fits. i have a wip of a fanfic of them doing the procedure to transfer him into the synth body that maybe one day i'll finish and post here, who knows.
YOU KNOW I GOTTA ADD THE NEWBIES <33 it will be very hard for me to not make joe "guy who gets inexplicably attached to michael and follows him everywhere" in every single au i make but for this i think joe might be a vault dweller (for reference, jeremy and previously gavin before i retconned him were the only vault dwellers) i just think being a vault dweller can give you that kind of new baby but quickly learning the ropes feel that joe has for me still
bk is definitely a shop owner or caravaner that eventually just moved in because she made so many friends. she has such a big and friendly personality i really see her making a lot of social connections and being on good terms with most people who caravan or have stores. i think in eventer she runs a weapons store!
ky i can see as almost like, the unofficial mayor of eventer. she brings everyone together and makes the community closer! she's great at organizing events (heh) remembering important things about what the community needs or wants, ect. she isnt "in charge" as no one really has all the power, but i think her jack and trevor are the ones most respected and who people go to when they need a town wide decision made.
speaking of, i decided i wanted to have trevor and alfredo sort be what valentine is and make them detectives! i want to incorporate more red web vibes in my aus and fallout is a perfect place for that as there are canonically aliens and cryptids in the fallout universe, as well as. you know. murder and such.
as far as who lives together and their roles in the community the updated version would be:
michael and lindsay live together and run a general goods store and as such are involved in trade with other towns and farms nearby. lindsay is a ghoul in this au btw. because i couldn't not make someone a ghoul and i think ghouls are fucking badass so its them, as the most badass person in ah.
gavin lives alone but has several cats. he is the doctor and runs a small clinic out of his home.
jack lives alone and is the radio dj! mostly playing music but also settlement wide announcements when necessary and covering the news ect, like most fallout radio djs do.
trevor and alfredo live together and run a detective agency. when they don't have any cases, trevor builds stuff to help the community and alfredo picks up guard duty rounds as he is one of their most competent with a gun.
matt and jeremy live together! matt works with their livestock (which is just a handful of brahmin and also a radstaag they cant get to leave) while jeremy is more of the "main character" since i made this au because of him, so he goes off an adventures the most. of course he comes back at least every 2 days because of his cats! who if you'll remember, are an eye bot (zipper), a tiny securiton (booker), and 3 real cats.
bk and ky live together - bk runs a weapons story which i am electing right now to call Friendly Fire because thats their team name but also it FITS SO WELL OMG - anyway ky helps with this sometimes when she's not busy planning a cookout, or helping matt set up something for the animals, or giving jack news updates to talk about ect.
EDIT I FORGOT TO ADD JOE: joe lives alone and i think is the head guard like he patrols and keeps the town safe bc its very open. he also delegates patrolling schedules ect. cannot stress enough how he is not a cop tho. he is guarding the town from mole rats and raiders not arresting ppl for crimes.

Hey, so I heard you’re French-Canadian. I have a French character in my WIP, and I was wondering, could you (Canadian) talk to a person from France easily or would the dialects make it hard?
Quite frankly, French from France is as hard to understand for a Quebecer as it is in English
They have their indecipherable accent, and we end up getting used, a little like with Curie, but there is a gap

Little more of a retrospective and art wip because Chapter 11 is under strict NDA. However: I really said omoe wa moe shinderu to the Fallout IP and started writing with vengeance on one December 3rd, 2021, a year writing my one and only fic, and things are finally paying off <3
I just released Chapter 10 after months of setting up the chess board of Long Time Running, and I love this writing so much. My biggest fic structure influence is James Joyce Ulysses: Make the reader go through a big round of learning the world and language, then there's a point where it all comes together, and that point almost makes you want to go back and reread now that the foundation is in place. Chapters 8, 9 and especially 10 are payoff for living with RJ processing and trying to move past one of his worst moments imaginable.
And in this chapter: I am so happy to introduce my fighters and their backgrounds. The gang sits in Sanctuary and watches a legendary prewar boxing match Jack won. I have been waiting to get them there in that living room together for so long, and I am so happy we are here. It's a high water mark chapter for my research and quality of writing and a testament to forging my own path in the universe.
I rarely saw myself in a lot of media as a kid, so RJ got to live in one beautiful painting for a few weeks while I picked at ADHD, hiking therapy and addressed a decade+ long grudge about that Annexation headline in the Fallout 3 loading screen. I wondered why I had never read (or played with) Curie written as a bilingual, culturally French person, (gritted teeth: toddfuckinghoward), et j'ai accompli ça aussi.
Of course. None of that boring shit touches writing Dogmeat as a Disney sidekick only the audience can hear :)
