A Slay the Spire Story, Part 5

After a few minutes meditating on my battle—managing to put aside my victory long enough to decide on new tactics—a small rustling disturbed me from my concentration.

From out behind some rocks in the corner of the room, a mouse emerged. It was rather large for a mouse, large enough that it didn’t seem strange to see it carrying several mouse-sized packs on its side. It stood atop the rubble, and twitched its whiskers.

Then it scampered over. Weaving between the chunks of crystal, it stopped in front of me and rose onto its front legs.

“Hello, friend.” I said.

It’s whiskers twitched again.

Perhaps it had been trapped back there? Stuck in the room with these sentries, unable to leave the hiding place without risking those deadly beams.

Abruptly, it twisted its upper body and used its paws to rummage about in one of the bags. It produced a small, cubic glass vial, filled with a pink liquid. It set this down in between us.

And then it raced off, bounding across the room and into a crack in the wall.

I picked up the gift, turning it over. On one side of the bottle was inscribed: Potion of Weakness. Presumably, it was supposed to be thrown at something you wanted to be weakened.

Interesting. I hoped it stayed out of trouble.

It was time to go. I’d mostly finished my analysis of the fight, and I had no time to waste. I stood up—

And felt sudden exhaustion wash through me. A dozen small aches, burns and bruises sent complaints from all over my body, and the wound in my side was most insistent of all. I’d spent hours walking, recovered from several fights, spent a few sleepless, hungry nights in a box.

I was tired. It was time to rest, not go. I was tempted, briefly, to forego it and simply continue onward. But that sort of impatience was something I’d worked hard to train out of myself.

It might seem like a waste of time to stop and get a good nights sleep, but rest was essential to the body, even for Divinities. It would be time well spent to stop and tend to my injuries, if it enabled me to be strong and efficient in the future.

Here seemed good enough. There was unlikely to be any intruders, since this room had been occupied by the powerful Sentries until I arrived. And there was plenty of good wood to make a fire.

Decision made, I set my belongings down, and let a weight drop off my shoulders.

I took my time finding firewood. There was dry, brittle wood among the brick and stone on the floor, but it wasn’t always easy to retrieve. I had the time, so I picked up enough to last me for about a day.

I piled it up in a corner of the room and lit it with a flint and steel from my pouch. The dry wood took easily, and soon I had a small blaze. I used it to heat a small steel bowl of water, and another bowl of my dried rations.

While my food warmed and softened, I used the heated water and a few fresh bandages to finally take the time to clean my side wound. It was bad, and because I had taken so long to properly care for it I was expecting to see a ragged, half-scarred over mess. But it appeared that Cleric had given me a head start. The wound was not wholly healed, but it was well on its way, and the skin was a healthy color around the edges. His magic must have cleared it from infection too, because I could clearly remember how dirty and rusted the curved blades had been.

I doubted I would ever see him again, but if I did I would have to thank him.

I finished cleaning and dressing the wound, and then I was able to eat. My rations were still plain, but more comforting in this softened, bread-and-meat pudding style. Comfort was important too. No need to go without if I could help it.

With all my chores done, I was able to just sit and enjoy the fire.

I hadn’t realized how cold it was down here in the lower levels of the spire. But with warm food in my belly and a fire crackling, I felt the chill seeping out of my bones, and started to relax.

I wondered what the order was doing. Had the Divinities taken on another apprentice to replace me yet, or were they waiting to see if I returned?

Had they sent other apprentices here before? Did they have more that I wasn’t aware of? I couldn’t imagine how Cleric had seen more people of my order climbing the spire in recent memory, not unless he was far older than he seemed. I’d been in service to the Divinities for all my life, and I had been under the assumption they only took one apprentice at a time.

While I was thinking, I absentmindedly tossed a few more sticks on the fire. One of the pieces of wood felt oddly smooth in my hand, and I stopped to look at it.

It was covered in small decorations, whorls and carved feathers. One end was broken off, but there were a few jutting parts that seemed like it may have connected to something else.

Curious, I glanced into the pile of wood, and spotted a few more, similar pieces.

It took me about an hour to dig them out, search the rubble for any more, and piece it all together. I didn’t need to, but it felt right. I was traveling through this spire and destroying as I went. A little restoration seemed appropriate.

In the end, I found myself with a small table. It wouldn’t hold anything, not as piecemeal as it was, still missing several chunks and more balanced than it was standing strong. But it was beautiful.

Carved feathers ran up and down the legs, and each of the feet ended in small bird claws. There was a bowl built into the top, carved in the shape of a nest with wings encompassing it. Black burns marked the inside of the bowl, coloring it and making it smooth. Some sort of ritual table? Made for burning incense, or some other herbs?

It struck me as being homey, in a way. Something a family would use to celebrate a holiday, or to bless a birth. The markings and carvings were soft, wrapped around themselves like embracings.

I sat and stared at it for a while.

What had these floors been? It was hard to tell now, with empty stone walls and floors. Rubble was the dominating decoration. But perhaps people had once lived here? I could hardly imagine it, living in the center of a windowless spire. But perhaps for these people, it had been normal.

If I looked about, I could almost imagine it. The doorways, leading from room to room. The bigger hallways, that might give space between homes. How many people would this have housed?

I let that thought occupy my mind as I laid down to sleep. It was hard to doze off at first, but the warm crackle of the fire soon made my eyes droop.

And yet I couldn’t stop thinking, long into the night.

Where had they all gone?

“Not for long! Not with my trap card! Cubic Ascension summons another Vijam that you’re forced to attack! Now both your dragons are out of commission.” “You’re wrong!”

Dragon’s Hoard

Summary:  For a break, Diva approaches Seto for a casual duel, no fancy holograms this time. Unfortunately for him, Seto's bearded dragon wants all of Seto's attention for himself. Clearly, this should be considered unlawful interference. Still, neither of them is willing to just hand over a win.

There was an audible snap of a book closing to Kaiba’s left as he read over some reports on his laptop.

“Well? Did you like it?” he questioned.

But instead of responding, Diva simply took a moment to remain silent in the spot of sunlight he was lounging in on the couch in the office.

Kaiba returned his attention to the documents.

“It was an interesting tale. But I felt the explanations behind all the technology and science was a bit unnecessary.”

“Take that back, that’s one of the best things about it.”

With a roll of his eyes, Diva sets the book on the table and gets up to walk over to Seto’s desk. But before he could ask what the CEO was doing, his eyes caught something more dangerous.

Seto’s lizard, perched on its owner’s shoulder. Like a little watchdog.

Diva wasn’t going near that thing. Not after last time.

“I was going to ask you if you wanted to take a break and have a quick duel.”

A slow smirk spread across Seto’s face as he refocuses his attention on the ex-Plana.

“Something stopping you?” he asked with a raised brow.

Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the bearded dragon puffing up his throat.

Golden eyes fixed him with a stare before dragging a chair over to sit across the desk.

“No,” he said reaching into his coat and taking out his cards.

With a snort, Kaiba pushed his computer to the side and tapped a button on his Duel Disk that was laying on the edge of the desk. The lights flared to life and the digital deck appeared on the table a moment later, already shuffled.

“How random can the shuffling of a binary machine be, Seto Kaiba?”

Five blue holographic cards are taken off the top and Seto glances at them. Not a bad start.

“That machine is doing math that would take you and me hours. It is sufficiently random.”

Diva finishes shuffling his cards the old fashion way and sets them on the desk. Kaiba taps it without cutting it.

“Card type on the bottom of your deck?”

“Trap, Cubic Ascension.”

“Monster,” Kaiba grumbles.

Trap beats monster. Diva got to decide who goes first.

“Oh? Do tell?” Diva asks as he just sets a few cards for his first turn.

“Blue Eyes.”

“Really now? Maybe your machine is more fair than I thought.”

Kaiba draws and summons Assault Wyvern. “Won’t matter, it’ll be in my hand or on the field soon enough.”

The turns slowly pass, all while the lizard on Seto’s shoulder just stares at Diva like he has a vendetta. As if Diva was an intruding thief in the dragon’s hoard of gold.

But eventually, as time passes the turns slow to a crawl. The Cubic counters have done their work and locked Kaiba out of a lot of his options, nullifying his monster's effects and paralyzing them from attacking. As Diva examines his opponent’s field, it’s hard to see anything workable. But he didn’t know what Seto had in his hand. Or what Kaiba could search his deck for and retrieve something that could throw everything off—

There’s a sudden rough weight on his hand that was resting on the desk while he waited and observed. And looking over, it was just what Diva dreaded.

The little bearded dragon perched proudly on his hand, looking a bit too intently at his golden bracelet. At least, Diva hoped it was his bracelet and not one of his fingers.

“Your dragon lives up to his name, a greedy little thing. Seto, I swear—”

“What? I don’t see the problem. Let Fáfnir relax,” Kaiba says as he activates Bingo Machine, Go!!! and takes a leisurable moment to search through all of his digital cards even though he could have easily had his duel disk spit out the cards that fit the criteria of the spell’s effect.

“Sure, he certainly looks so relaxed while staring at my hand like it’s a tasty bug,” Diva says with a nod at the reptile.

“He has to learn to warm up to you eventually. And trying to feed him didn’t go over so well, but look—I think this is progress.”

“It’s progress until he decides he’s gotten bored. Middle one,” Diva says out of the three cards Seto picked. The CEO adds it to his hand and returns the other two to his deck.

“Now get him off me.” Diva doesn’t dare to move his hand, but despite that Fáfnir climbs around and clamps his jaws down on Diva’s thumb.

“Ow—Seto!”

Laughing at the other’s misery like a true villain, Seto puts his cards aside to ease the little dragon into releasing the vice grip on Diva. No real damage was done of course, but he figured that was enough havoc to cause for the day and carried the lizard back to his terrarium. Despite the ex-Plana’s suffering, this was quite a good bit of progress. For a bit the reptile did seem almost content.

“Don’t laugh, you did that on purpose because you’re losing, aren’t you?”

“Me, losing? I think you’re misreading the field, Diva.”

“If you’re determined to use underhanded tactics at least own up to it.”

Kaiba walks back around the desk and picks up two of his cards, revealing his turnabout strategy. A Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon and a regular Blue Eyes to special summon it with.

“You so sure I was losing? You’ve used all your Vijams already. Unless you have something to retrieve them from the graveyard all I have to do is use Alternative’s effect to clear that absurdly powered up Duza off your field.”

Diva smirks.

“Fine then. Let’s see if you can make a comeback.”

Notes: I just wanted some fluff. Fáfnir is the name of a dragon from the Icelandic Saga of the Volsungs. Also, bearded dragons are normally very friendly if you socialize and care for them properly. Fáfnir is just an attention hog.

One of the ways people can determine who goes first in a duel is to use the card on the bottom of the deck. Trap beats monster, monster beats spell, and spell beats trap. Whoever wins can either decide if they want to go first or perhaps whoever wins goes first. There are multiple variations. After your opponent shuffles their deck at the start you can cut it to ensure it's even more random and fair. Though in a non-competitive scenario, if you trust that the person isn't stacking their deck somehow and did a good job shuffling you can also just tap the cards and move onto the duel.

The Laconia Incident

On September 12th, 1942, the RMS Laconia was carrying around 2,300 personnel including 1,792 POWs off the coast of Western Africa. German U-Boat U-156 was on patrol around 10 PM of that night, they spotted and engaged the Laconia. Around 10:2 the Laconia transmitted the following message on the 600-metre band: “SSS SSS 0434 South / 1125 West Laconia torpedoed” SSS meaning “under attack by submarine."

Due to being over populated because of the large amount of POWs there was not enough life boats available to save everyone, Chaos engulfed the ship as British Sailors tried to keep the POWs in their cells while the ship sank. A large number of them escaped which resulted in the shooting and bayoneting of numerous personnel which were mostly POWs. 

The blood spilled caused Sharks to encircle and eat many survivors who had jumped in the water, reports also state that a number of POWs were shot or stabbed while trying to climb aboard lifeboats after the ship had sank. Corporal Dino Monte (who was a POW) recalls that: “Sharks darted among us. Grabbing an arm, biting a leg. Other larger beasts swallowed entire bodies.“

While the ship was sinking the U-156 surfaced to find more than two thousand people struggling to survive against the waves and sharks. Rescue options were commenced as U-156 realized the ship was carrying mostly civilians and POWs. 

Korvettenkapitän Werner Hartenstein who was in command of U-156 sent a coded radio message to Befehlshaber der U-Boote (Commander-in-Chief for Submarines) alerting them to the situation. It read:

Versenkt von Hartenstein Brite "Laconia". Marinequadrat FF 7721 310 Grad. Leider mit 1500 italienischen Kriegsgefangenen. Bisher 90 gefischt. 157 cbm. 19 Aale, Passat 3, erbitte Befehle.

English:  Sunk by Hartenstein British "Laconia". Grid FF 7721 310 degrees. Unfortunately with 1500 Italian prisoners of war. So far 90 fished. 157 cubic meters [of oil]. 19 eels [torpedoes], trade wind 3, request orders. 

Admiral Dönitz immediately ordered seven U-boats which had been gathering to take part in a planned surprise attack on Cape Town to divert to the scene to pick up survivors. However Admiral Raeder ordered Dönitz to retract that order after Hitler had heard the news and wasn’t a fan of the rescue order. 

Raeder instead ordered U-506, U-507 and the Italian submarine Comandante Cappellini to intercept and take over rescue operations as the U-156 had been ordered to join the attack on capetown. Raeder also requested the Vichy French to send warships from Dakar and/or Côte d'Ivoire to collect the Italian survivors from the three submarines. The Vichy French, in response, sent the 7,500-long-ton (7,600 t) cruiser Gloire from Dakar, and two sloops, the fast 650-long-ton (660 t) Annamite and the slower 2,000-long-ton (2,000 t) Dumont-d'Urville, from Conakry, French Guinea, and Cotonou, Dahomey, respectively.

Soon U-156 was filled with over 200 Survivors which forced Hartenstein to broadcast to all shipping in the area the following message: “ If any ship will assist the ship-wrecked Laconia crew, I will not attack providing I am not being attacked by ship or air forces. I picked up 193 men. 4, 53 South, 11, 26 West. ― German submarine. “

After broadcasting their humanitarian intentions over all nets the U-156 stayed in the Area for two days before being joined by U-506, U-507 and the Italian Submarine. 

During the night the submarines became separated. On 16 September at 11:25am, U-156 was spotted by an American B-24 Liberator bomber flying from a secret airbase on Ascension Island. The submarine was travelling with a Red Cross flag draped across her gun deck. Hartenstein signalled to the pilot in both Morse code and English requesting assistance. A British officer also messaged the aircraft: “RAF officer speaking from German submarine, Laconia survivors on board, soldiers, civilians, women, children.”

Lieutenant James D. Harden of the United States Army Air Forces did not respond to the messages, and turned away and notified his base of the situation. The senior officer on duty that day, Captain Robert C. Richardson III, who claimed that he did not know that this was a Red Cross-sanctioned German rescue operation, ordered the B-24 to "sink the sub". He later claimed that:

He believed that the rules of war, at the time, did not permit a combat ship to fly Red Cross flags. He feared that the German submarine would attack the two Allied freighters diverted by the British to the site. He assumed that the German submarine was rescuing only the Italian POWs. In his tactical assessment, he believed that the submarine might discover and shell the secret Ascension airfield and fuel tanks, thus cutting off a critical Allied resupply air route to British forces in Egypt and Soviet forces in Russia.

Harden flew back to the scene of the rescue effort, and at 12:32 attacked with bombs and depth charges. One landed among the lifeboats in tow behind U-156, killing dozens of survivors, while others straddled the submarine itself causing minor damage. Hartenstein cast adrift those lifeboats still afloat and ordered the survivors on his deck into the water. The submarine submerged slowly to give those still on the deck a chance to get into the water and escape. According to Harden's report, he made four runs at the submarine. On the first three the depth charges and bombs failed to release, on the fourth he dropped two bombs: “ The sub rolled over and was last seen bottom up. Crew had abandoned ship and taken to surrounding lifeboats.” — Lieutenant James D. Harden

The U-165 was forced to submerge and leave the rest of survivors stranded. Later on Admiral Dönitz ordered the Triton Null which later became known as the Laconia Order, the order prohibited the rescue of survivors by Uboats. Even so many Uboats would still save survivors.

During the incident 1,619 people died while only 1,113 were rescued.

20TH-JPC18 Houkai Engi (Cubic Omen) Normal Trap Card You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effects of this card’s name each once per turn each. (1) Place a number of Cubic Counters up to the number of “Cubic” monsters you control on face-up monsters your opponent controls. A monster with a Cubic Counter on it it cannot attack and its effects are negated. (2) You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 “Cubic” monster you control; for the rest of this turn, each time that monster you control destroys a monster that has a Cubic Counter on it by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the original ATK of the destroyed monster.

Of the Qualities of the Vessel and Furnace in alchemy

The means and manner of working we have already determined. Now we will speak of the Vessel and Furnace, of what sort, and of what materials they must be made. Whereas Nature by a natural fire decocts the metals in the mines and she denies the like decoction to be made without a vessel fit for it. If it is our purpose to imitate Nature in concocting, why do we reject her vessel?

      Nature, through the natural sub-consious process, “meditates” the chakras on the surface of the glass vessel. She does not “decoct” the “completed” vessel itself, except in a crude sense. The Glass Vessel is the human aura, which has been present since birth, but it, too, must be refined through meditation, and imagination. The 'image' of a perfect vessel in meditation is required. The “ragged edged” of the natural aura must be refined to bring the entire vessel to its perfect proportions of five units wide by eight units high (5/8ths, the Golden Mean). This is a perfect egg-shaped body of light substance. At a certain point in our evolution self-consciousness takes up the intention to cooperate with nature to perfect the aura. Other authors of the Qabalah name this light body, כלי, klee, 'vase, or vessel.' Technically, and Qabalistically speaking, any desire can form aklee, a vessel or body of sorts, for the purpose of receiving light. At the level of the Magnum Opus, and the True Alchemy, however, the klee is a much larger body of imagined light-substance forming a very real egg-shaped body of Light surrounding the physical body. The human physical body is actually the 'yolk' of the Phoenix within this egg-shaped vase, the Glass Vessel. The gematria of כלי is 60, which equals the Latin, balneum, the 'bath.' The yolk is 'bathed' within the vessel, where the King and His Bride are conjoined.

Let us first of all see in what place the metals are made. It does appear evidently in the places of Minerals, that in the bottom of the mountain there is heat continually alike, the nature of which is always to ascend, and in the ascension it always dries up, and coagulates the thicker and grosser water hidden in the belly, or veins of the earth, or mountain, into ARGENT-VIVE. And if the mineral fatness of the same place arising out of the earth be gathered warm together in the veins of the earth, it runs through the mountain and becomes SULPHUR. And as a man may see in the foresaid veins of the place, that SULPHUR engendered of the fatness of the earth (as is before touched) meets with ARGENT-VIVE (as it is also written) in the veins of the earth, begetting the thickness of mineral water. There, through the continual equal heat in the mountain, in long process of time diverse metals are engendered, according to the diversity of the place.

      The metals, like everything, are made of the universal mineral substance, AIN SUPh AUR, the Limitless Light. It is referred to as a mineral, but no mineral, and as a “mountain” (of spirit). It is simply indescribable (a stone, but no stone...a water that wets not the hands, and so on). In the previous chapter it was explained how Argent Vive and Sulphur are engendered by the co-mixture of prana (becoming Argent Vive) with chylus (becoming sulphur). “The continual, equal heat in the mountain” is the steady, sensible process of moderation in study, prayer, meditation, moral life, and sensible foodstuffs, by which “in a long process of time diverse metals are engendered.” Eventually, the energy flowing through all the chakras becomes balanced, transmuted, and sublimated.

      What is a chakra? And how are they formed? Follow nature. Observe a caterpillar’s cocoon. Such a cocoon is formed of a single strand of silk, continually wrapped about the caterpillar. The single strand is barely visible by itself. We can see it mostly when sunshine reflects off it, it is that fine. However, repeated rounds of this single fiber, continually crossing itself, eventually wraps the caterpillar in a soft, tight, silk cocoon.

      So, too, a single fiber-strand of invisible light energy, continually wrapped around the human body, forms an egg-shaped body of light. This is created and performed at profoundly deep levels of the sub-conscious, bordering the super-conscious, and prior to any physical incarnation. Alchemists name this depth of consciousness regio lucis, the 'region of light.' Some may refer to it as the astral plane or level. It is the region where spirits descending to matter are incorporated. This single strand of light fiber, criss-crossing itself repeatedly, forms hubs of light energy at the intersections. There are hundreds of these intersections. But there are seven major intersections through which human consciousness perceives the physical phenomenon of this world. The 'hub' intersections appear on the surface of the Glass Vessel as blurs of light with strands of radiation 'appearing' as spokes of a wheel. The Hindu sages, therefore, called them chakras which means 'wheels.' Native Meso-American shamans labeled these intersections 'assemblage points' in that a considerable amount of light power is concentrated or assembled about these intersections. Generic humanity is unaware of this phenomenon, but more are becoming aware. The raw light energy flowing through these 'wheels' in people not concerned with the alchemical process is considered 'base' by genuine alchemists, shamans, Qabalists, magicians and wizards. Meditation heals and hones the light energy flowing through them from the sub-conscious, involution qualities, to super-conscious, evolution qualities.

And in these Mineral places, you will find a continual heat. For this cause we are of right to note that the external mineral mountain is everywhere shut up within itself, and stony, for if this heat should escape, there should never be engendered any metal. Therefore, if we intend to imitate Nature, we must have such a furnace like unto the Mountains, not in greatness, but in continual heat, so that the fire put in, when it ascends, may find no vent, but that the heat may beat upon the vessel being close shut, containing in it the matter of the Stone. This vessel must be round and with a small neck and must be made of glass or some earth, representing the nature or close knitting together of glass; the mouth whereof must be signed or sealed with a covering of the same matter, or with lute. And as in the mines, the heat does not immediately touch the matter of SULPHUR and ARGENT-VIVE, because the earth of the mountain comes everywhere between. So this fire must not immediately touch the vessel, containing the matter of the foresaid things in it, but it must be put into another vessel, shut close in the like manner, so the temperate heat may touch the matter above and beneath, indeed wherever it may be, more aptly and fitly. Whereupon Aristotle says, in the light of lights, that Mercury is to be concocted in a three-fold vessel and that the vessel must be of most hard Glass, or (which is better) of earth possessing the nature of Glass.

      The re-channeled reproductive energy heats the inside of the glass vessel. “Our glass” is the human aura – three-fold since it is composed of mercury, sulphur, and salt that co-mix and play within its limits. The space or area between the physical body (yolk) and the vessel’s shell philosophers compare with the white of an egg, the albumin. Alchemist Sir George Ripley exhorts us concerning the white water or liquor:

"...keep this water by itself in a glass well stopped...this liquor is called our blessed liquor, to be kept in a Glass Vessel very close stopped...keep pure by itself, it being called the basis and foundation of the work, Mars, our white fixed earth, or philosophers' Iron."

      Within the hermetically sealed (through sexual continence) limits of the glass vessel, re-channeled reproductive force from purified iron, the Mars center, directs heat into the white liquor. The liquor slowly turns from the “watery state” into a humid, white, smoke-like humor or vapor called “humidity.” This is the alchemical bath wherein the virgin seed of sulphur maturates the yolk. It actually appears like this from a fourth dimensional viewpoint. It is sometimes seen in the three dimensional world by those sufficiently clairvoyant. The humid bath creates a moist heat, a sweat, on the inside surface of the aura. Alchemical writers describe the glittery effect from corpuscular droplets of light on the inside surface of the glass vessel as “fishes’ eyes.” Of this, alchemist Nicholas Delphinas wrote and illustrated in The Book Of Lambspring. “Here the Father sweats profusely, while oil and the true tincture of the sages flow forth from him.”

      In that picture a crowned king lies convalescing or sleeping in a cubical, canopied bed. The canopy suggests “something inner.” This is the stage after Saturn has swallowed his child (the Central Self within the Cube absorbs the separate child personality). Text accompanies the illustration:

"Here the Father sweats on account of the Son, and earnestly beseeches God, Who has everything in His hands, Who creates, and has created all things, to bring forth His Son from His body, and to restore him to his former life. God hearkens to his prayers, and bids the Father lie down and sleep. Then God sends down rain from heaven to the earth from the shining stars. It was a fertilizing, silver rain, which bedewed and softened the Father's Body. Succour us, Lord, at the end, that we may obtain Thy gracious gift."

      The Dew of Heaven (AIN SUPh AUR outside the vessel) is the “fertilizing, silver rain.” The dew comes from the stars,Masloth, the Highway of Stars, Chokmah, and the Virgin Sulphur. When AIN SUPh AUR, the universal First Matter outside the glass vessel, matches or aligns with the threadlike light-fibers inside the aura, perception is achieved. It is so explained in the Yaqui Indian tradition throughout that series of books recorded by Carlo Castaneda (see bibliography). It is, however, in perfect agreement with Western alchemical traditions. In The One Hundred Alchemical Aphorisms, Baro Ubigerus states under Aphorism 41:

"Our mercurial water has such sympathy with the astrums, that, if not kept very close, and hermetically sealed, it will in a very short time, like a winged serpent, fly away in a wonderful manner to its own sphere, carrying along with it all the elements and principles of metals, and not leaving so much as one single drop, or the least remainder, behind."

      The light-fibers within and without the vessel are the same. What the aspirant does through the alchemical process (more accurately, what is done for him and to him by Almighty God) is gather up and close off a portion of the Limitless Light and separate it from the vast, volatile, boundless expanse. The separated portion receives a cleansing inside the vessel because the First Matter, in its original state, is a citrine “gross, vile substance.” The moist heat of the re-channeled reproductive force “bathes” or washes the Subjectum within the vessel. This magnetizes the light-fibers within. The aura changes. When it is sufficiently changed, energy is re-aligned. If the cocoon is not hermetically sealed, there exists no “hard glass” edge to the vessel or klee, and all energies dissipate into the vast unknown. This is described as the “steam, vapors or smoke” escaping from the vessel prematurely. In a relative sense, it is exactly what happens to a person’s most brilliant, creative imagery that conforms to cosmic law, for example. Louisiana to House a USD 4.5 Billion Blue Hydrogen Energy Complex

Louisiana Governor Edwards and the USA’s leading gas and chemicals provider, Air Products, in the latest announcement disclosed their plan to build a blue hydrogen clean energy complex worth USD 4.5 billion in Ascension Parish near Burnside. The mega project will facilitate the production of 750 million standard cubic feet per day of blue hydrogen by permanently sequestering the associated carbon dioxide emissions.

The project, scheduled to reach completion by 2026, will be boasting the world’s largest permanent carbon dioxide sequestration infrastructure that will be capturing and cloistering 95% of the facility’s carbon dioxide emissions amounting to a volume of 5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. STEP 2: 3D WAX PRINTING YOUR JEWELRY

In most modern jewelry production, the manufacturer uses a 3d printing machine to print a wax model made out of resin, which usually doesn’t take more than 48 hours.

The Rubber Mold

The original model is encased in plaster-like investment, which is specially created for jewelry making. After the investment sets, the encased wax model is burned away in an oven, leaving a jewelry-shaped void in the hardened investment. That space is filled with silver, forming a slightly smaller duplicate of the original wax design, which is polished to perfection. The silver master model is then packed into a fat sandwich of special mold rubber and squeezed tight under high heat and pressure until it forms a solid block.
