Namco Pony Citroën, 1972. Namco were the Greek Citroën concessionaire who, in collaboration with the French car maker, manufactuered the Pony utilitarian vehicle at a specially built factory in Thessalonika. The car had been designed by Citroën on a 2CV platform as part of a 'basic world car' project. The last photograph shows the launch of the Pony in Thessalonika. It was sold throughout Europe (the brochure in for the German market) and, as it was one of the lowest priced vehicle in its category, sales were good with over 30,000 being make in all.

Citroën 2CV Pré Série, 1948. The 2CV is 75 years old this week (October 7) having been introduced at the 35th Paris Motor Show (Paris Mondial de l'Automobile). It had literally been designed to traverse a ploughed field carrying a basket full of eggs on the passenger's seat without breaking them. Citroën Vice-President Pierre Boulanger wanted to motorise the large number of French farmers still using horses and carts. It remained in production until 1990
