She gravitates toward idealist and funny sims, but more than anything her favorite kind of sims are family-motivated sims. It was really just her and her dad growing up, so she wants to have a family of her own and is looking for a partner who wants a big, beautiful, fun family, as well! Her hobbies include robotics, research and debate, handiness, programming, wellness, baking, and knitting. She also enjoys acting and singing, even though she does both of those things quite poorly (that doesn't stop her, lol).

-> Her dislikes include: The "color" grey - she would argue that grey is definitely not a color, and she sees waaaay too much of it in the math and science field. She likes most genres of music, but Metal music is an absolute no-go and she is kind of a scaredy-cat who prefers the "cute" side of Halloween, so spooky music is also out. She doesn't tend to run in the same spaces as high-energy sims: she was not gifted in the athletics department and hates fitness activities, skiing, rock climbing, and snowboarding. However, she dislikes egotistical and argumentative sims the most! As a cheerful, optimistic sim she doesn't like conversations focused on complaints, pranks, arguments, potty humor, or malicious interactions.

-> Some fun facts include: Ciara was a happy infant and toddler, an only child who grew up in the spice market area of San Myshuno and was raised by a loving, generous single dad who she's still extremely close to. Her dad worked in nonprofits and charity work, always encouraging her to advocate for others, give back to their community, and be compassionate. Her mom passed away when she was only a year old, but her dad has done a solid job at keeping her memory alive. Ciara is half Japanese (her mother's side) and half Trinidadian/Tobagonian (on her father's side).

As soon as she could hold a hammer and power up a computer, she put her natural ingenuity to the test time and time again. Even though her unquenchable curiosity did lead to some small apartment fires, a few broken appliances, and a beaker explosion from time to time, she ultimately completed the Creative Genius aspiration and gained the "Idea Person" trait. That being said, she has always had a strong sense of purpose, wanting to put that perfect combination of smarts and creativity to work: that's why she decided she would dedicate her life to inventing and ultimately helping better the environment when she was around 12 years old.

High School came with a plethora of social challenges for Ciara: even though she was (and still is) extremely bubbly and bafflingly smart, she sometimes had trouble relating to people her age and understanding social expectations. Some kids picked on her for being too nerdy or too involved in class, others found her too talkative and "annoying," assuming her curious nature and positive attitude must be "fake." (Honestly, she was just neuro-divergent and didn't know it yet! She, in my opinion, didn't get evaluated by a profession until she was out of highschool and would ultimately be diagnosed as a combo of autism - toward the "high functioning" end - and ADHD). She found herself hanging out in teacher's classrooms more than not, usually not invited to big parties and doing her best to avoid social events like Prom as much as possible. However, she did have a small group of good friends, fortunately... so it definitely wasn't all bad! (She even went to the same college and was roommates with one of them!) Because she poured most of her free time into extracurriculars and schoolwork, she graduated at the top of her class and was given the honor of valedictorian!

Although she grew up in the city, she's 100% not attached to city living! She would love living somewhere with fresh air and lots of sunshine, especially if that meant she would have extra space to tinker and brainstorm! Plus, as an environmental enthusiast and "Civil Designer," she cares about inventing and finding affordable, healthy, safe innovations that work for all kinds of communities: that's a job she can do from anywhere!

Ciara never backs down from a challenge, but potentially competing for love might be the scariest one she's faced yet. She has never had a serious relationship and has never actually been in love, even though she eagerly puts her heart on her sleeve and has come close before. Could Ofelia be her soulmate? Ciara has crunched the numbers, and the stats say there's a slim chance: a 20% chance of success and an 80% chance at heartbreak, to be exact...

but that's a risk she's just might be willing to take. ❤️

✨🎄santa here!🎄✨I am living for all your chitty chitty bang bang reblogs, it was my favorite movie as a kid and the first musical I ever saw live (on the West End with Michael Ball no less). Are there any other musicals you like? Any you’ve seen live?

Aaaaa yes, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang solidarity! ♥️ It was one of my childhood faves as well. When I was rewatching it last night, I mused to my housemate that it would slap as a stage show, and while going through the tag today I discovered that that's already a thing! I'm so jealous that you got to see Michael Ball in that, omg.

I wish I'd gotten this ask before I answered the other one, lol. I've seen a fair number of musicals live thanks to student productions and growing up within driving distance of the St. Louis Muny, which has a free seating section for every show. I think some of my favorites were the Missouri-Baptist Les Mis (featuring Czech operatic-bass/baritone-turned-pastor Michael Šust as the best Javert I've ever seen), the Muny Les Mis (featuring Norm Lewis as Javert), the Muny A Funny Thing Happened... (whoever they'd cast as Pseudolus got super sick, so at the literal last minute they flew out John Tartaglia, who played it PERFECTLY with the script in his hand), the St. Louis Fox Hamilton tour stop, the Truman State production of Falsettos, and the Columbia University production of Brief Encounter (retitled Bona Varda and played as a nonbinary lesbian love story).

I also saw my first Broadway shows this year, a mere 4 days before it all went dark due to COVID. @emcads and I saw The Phantom of the Opera (I'd seen it once before at the St. Louis Fox in 2009, but I just couldn't stop smiling once the overture began) and Frozen with Ciara Renée as Elsa. I'd love to see something on the West End one day!

Remember Leila’s sister Ciara? I started playing with her a bit and a lot has happened since I last shared her on her. Here’s some of the things that have happened since she last appeared in The Humphries Legacy.

She started working for a fashion design company after much nudging from Leila, who pulled some strings for her in the design industry. Ciara’s always loved fashion, but never felt good enough to go into the industry for it. After landing the job, she transitioned into doing some styling for local celebrities - which is how she met her now husband, Ravi.

Ravi Baptiste is not only now her husband, but he’s technically a prince. Born as an heir to the Baptiste family throne, he is third in line to become the prince. As Leila jokingly told her on the way of her wedding, “you secured the bag, sis!” 

Her and Leila’s mother, Joyce passed away, unfortunately before she got to see her youngest daughter finally get married, but she did give her seal of approval before she passed.

Fast forward to today, Ciara isn’t working anymore and is loving her rich auntie lifestyle while Ravi goes back and forth between his royal duties and his time at home. Ravi wants kids, so he’s been bringing up the conversation a lot more with Ciara, who’s still trying to get used to being a wife.

WHAT? Yes. This story is alive! Well, it’s been alive and kickin’ on Wattpad for the past few weeks but I decided to update the story here since y’all the day ones. Plus I’m building a MASTERLIST of my stuffs so I wanted to have everything together. 

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

"Ci! Girl, the trunk ain't that big..." Ashley steps outside to see Ciara's face showing a joyful kind of surprise as Winston struggles to wipe the smile off of his face. She interrupts their romance-movie gazes at each other, slamming the hard-oak door to the AirBnB behind her causing them both to break their gaze. "Ci, you good...?"

Ciara reluctantly exits her love story. "Ash, yeah ... I'm good. This is Winston. We go to Penn together. We just ran into each other." Winston walks up to shake Ashley's hand, his good boy manners getting the best of him. Ashley wasn't ready for all that politeness but she appreciates Winston's respectful nature.

"Nice to meet you, Ashley, I presume?"

"Good call ... the bottles are in the trunk, right?" Ashley presses Ciara on with a heavy look inside of the trunk. As much as she would love to meet new friends, she relishes her first weekend off in months and doesn't want to stop her fun to be friendly. She grabs the bottles of Hennessey and some cheap box wine and proceeds to walk back into the house, waving bye to Winston with her elbow. He goes back in for more conversation with Ciara.

"You guys are in for some fun, huh?"

"Yep, girl's weekend. I needed a break from my thesis."

"Ah, man. Me too, me too. I didn't want to come up for this planning meeting for my church..."

Winston jumped onto so many committees, he lost count. The more commitments, the more he doesn't have time to toll away at his papers.

"Where do you go?"

"Flower Street Baptist..."

Ciara knows Flower Street to be Y'lan's church and begins to understand how Winston and Y'lan got to know each other. It's another painful reminder that Trevante still doesn't know about her and Y'lan's past. She figures that Y'lan will be with Trevante this weekend and fears the moment Trevante tells all and Y'lan feels pushed to let the cat out of the bag about he and Ciara's last conversation together. It was only days ago that Y'lan confronted Ciara about her relationship with Trevante all the while somewhat confessing to her that he still carried feelings for her. Ciara's chest tenses up at the conversation she must have with Trevante once she gets home but she desires an escape from her emotions and Winston can provide that.

"FSB, yeah. Solid church. Reverend J.B. Jones, yeah ...so what brought you down the road here?"

"There's a trailway up ahead that the lodge owner recommended. I, uh, just needed to clear my head for a minute." Winston wants to escape as well. Boggled down in meetings and planning groups all day, he wants to take his mind off of everything from Flower Street to his thesis. Ciara's been in the recesses of his mind since she messaged him back about the playlist. Ciara didn't know that certain songs on the playlist were for her in mind, soundtracks to the what-ifs only if the Universe got everybody out of the way. But if "Can We Talk?" by Tevin Campbell could be acted out in this moment, why stop it? "I'm actually about to take a walk around real quick if you want me to show you where it is?"

"Oh, man. Yes! Let me just let my girls know. " Ciara jumps ahead of the curve. Winston's heart just jumps. He watches her walk inside of the house, emotions growing from bewildered into excitement. He texts Y'lan the good news.

Hey, man. Guess who I ran into up here?

Y'lan doesn't have much time to respond to Winston once Trevante, Stephan and the rest of Trevante's fraternity brothers barge their way throughout the multi-level rental just outside of Center City. They wanted to be close to Old City -- all the bars and hangout spots -- plus a short Uber ride to the strip club.

As the crowd grows larger, Y'lan's face grows more nervous. Y'lan, unlike his older brothers, didn't do the fraternity thing in college because he was scared by all of the stories he heard. Tre and Michael's fraternity brothers are living up to the hype.

"I can't believe you married her, bruh." Stephan says to Malik, one of the older fraternity brothers. "She was a damn slide..." He's on his third glass of Crown and letting himself get all the way loose. Trevante watches Malik's nostrils flare up and knows it's time to cut this out. "Yo, Stephan. Watch your mouth."

"Whatever, Tre. He knows I'm just playing. Tracee is a sweeeeeeetheart." The laughs and snickers carry throughout the room and Trevante's laugh is a mixture between embarrassment and wince. "Plus, who are you to say shit? You run through bitches like a track meet, Tre!"

Trevante waivers on whether to tell his friends about his new normal; about this girl named Ciara who came into his life after a moment of tragedy and became the woman that he saw himself building a future with. This woman who Y'lan is starting to fall back in love with and who he just learned is up in the Poconos with Winston.

Trevante decides to wait.

If his parents were rich AU, how different do you think Ephram would be? How do you think his relationships would differ with those he's closest with?

OOC: Ephram would likely have grown up in a family coven, which would have made him less vulnerable to Anaxis -- he probably would have told the elder witches about what was happening, and they could intervene before it got too far. He also would have a deeper sense of self-confidence because he wouldn’t have grown up impoverished, he’d have gotten more of an education and probably become a teacher or something.

With Bellamy he might be more fractious about her behaviour, since he’d have his own ideas of what responsibilities wealth brings with it. But he’d also be more comfortable going with her to certain places where rich people hang out, and occasionally doing a full-on blowout of profligate spending then feel guilty about it the next day (#Baptist) and insist that they do something charitable to make up for it. They would fight a lot, but about really frivolous things, and they’d enjoy the fights b/c they’d be sluts for the dramz.

With Ruby he wouldn’t feel the class division as sorely as he does now; he mostly feels it with Ruby because she’s Southern like him but their experiences were very different and he gets prickly when they’re equated as similar. He’d probably be less prickly with Ruby overall, although he might also love her less. Rich Ephram isn’t quite as intense and passionate as poor Ephram.

With Freddie oh my god. He wouldn’t have needed Freddie’s encouragement and boosting quite as desperately as poor Ephram does, and he could match Freddie’s wealth, so it would be a whole new dynamic. I’m not really sure what that would look like, to be honest; part of the reason they work so well is that they’re opposites and they each bring something entirely foreign to the other to their relationship. If Ephram were rich and had that sort of confidence already, their relationship might not have taken strong enough root. Or they might decide to be wealthy roues and travel around the world being trampy and magnificent, who knows  XD

With Faye it would be a constant balancing act of how much he could get away with spending on her/giving her, and he’d probably just funnel it all through Eowyn. He’d be annoying to Faye though because he’d be one of those well-intentioned but wishy-washy types when it comes to certain subjects, and she’d be pissed every time he refused to take a side or commit to an opinion.

Ciara he would’ve given wide berth to, probably even turned her in to the cops/whoever if he found out she was a blood witch.

With Cassie he would have basically been her somewhat fey pansexual roomie, because rich Ephram wouldn’t have done any manual labour or time in prison so he’d present as much more genderfluid than poor Ephram does. He would have slept with Cassie still, but he also would’ve been more domestic with her and more bookish.

(I feel I’m forgetting people? Send an ask if you want to know what rich Ephram would be like with your character lol)

(Let everyone sit where they wanted and talk to who they wanted for their very first dinner together, just wanted them all to meet and form some initial feelings with each other! As you can see Amara is still very uncomfortable around all these strangers, she had some beer but never really settled in one spot for too long - everyone else had a nice time)

Enzo, il a toujours fait partie de ma vie, depuis qu’on était tout petit, je me souviens de lui, avec ses Stabilos noires avec des flammes dessus. Ce sont des images qui sont gravées en moi. Et si avec les années on n’était proches, proches, il a toujours fait partie de ma vie, de ma famille.

Une énorme pensée pour Jenny, Greg, et ses frère/sœur.

La seule chose que nous on peut faire, c’est de lui rendre hommage. La grande famille du squash français vient de perdre l’un des leurs, et c’est un moment terrible pour nous. Aujourd’hui, je suis fier d’avoir joué pour lui. Il aurait adoré jouer dans un tournoi comme celui-ci. Avec tout ce qui se passe en ce moment, l’année de .. qu’on vient de vivre, il ne nous manquait que de perdre quelqu’un d’aussi précieux. Cela nous permet de nous souvenir que ce n’est qu’un jeu, un jeu de squash, qu’il faut savoir s’amuser, prendre du plaisir, et aussi faire attention les uns aux autres, avoir de l’empathie les uns pour les autres. Et nous sommes vivant, il faut savoir l’apprécier.

Je te garderai toujours dans mon cœur, Enzo, tu es de ma famille, j’espère que tu es en paix, que tu nous regardes, et que tu aimes ce que tu vois.

Je l'avais vu l'été dernier, il était venu à Aix, il avait l'air heureux d'être aux USA, le squash lui offrait la possibilité de faire de hautes études, même si c'est quelqu'un qui n'a jamais eu confiance en lui. Virginia attorney general silent on potential Liberty University probe

Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring's office will not say whether he will investigate Liberty University in light of a recent bombshell Politico article detailing alleged self-dealing and other controversial actions by school president Jerry Falwell Jr. at the non-profit school. A spokesman for Herring told WSM, when asked whether the attorney general was probing Liberty's practices, "We generally do not comment on pending investigations, even to confirm whether or not one is ongoing." A senior Liberty University official said that the school has "absolutely not" been notified that it is the subject of an investigation from Herring's office, the FBI, or any other government authority. An Internal Revenue Service spokesman declined to comment whether it will investigate Liberty University, citing department policy. Virginia's Department of Education did not respond to a request for comment. Experts in nonprofit law who were interviewed for the Politico article told WSM this week that the allegations involving Falwell, a prominent supporter of President Donald Trump, were more than than enough to warrant a probe by Herring and his office into Liberty University's business practices. "The allegations in the Politco exposé of Liberty University and its management are serious and likely merit investigation from state and federal regulators," said Ciara Torres-Spelliscy, a professor at Stetson University College of Law. Ellen Aprill, a professor of tax law at Loyola Law School, said, "I think the self-dealing transactions are violations of tax law and probably the state nonprofit law." "I do think they merit both AG and IRS investigation," Aprill said. Virginia's attorney general has not been shy about taking action against charities and nonprofits that have violated state law. Herring's office has filed lawsuits against sham cancer charities, deceptive veterans' charities and a service dog nonprofit between 2016 and 2018. Falwell Jr., whose late father, the Southern Baptist preacher Jerry Falwell Sr., founded Liberty University, has repeatedly used his office as school president to give favorable contracts and loans from the university to family and friends, according to Politico. The article detailed "a culture of fear and self-dealing" at the school under the leadership of Falwell Jr. Falwell spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention that nominated Trump for the White House. Trump's first commencement speech as president was at Liberty University. Politico's report detailed how, when Trump visited the university in 2017, Liberty University printed and sold Trump-branded T-shirts and hats, emblazoned with the University logo and Trump's signature campaign bslogan, "Make America Great Again. Federal law and Virginia state law prohibit nonprofits from using their resources to support, donate to, or endorse political candidates or campaigns. "Nonprofits like Liberty University are not allowed to intervene in U.S. elections, full stop," Torres-Spelliscy said. The Wall Street Journal reported in January that Trump's then-personal lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, hired a technology company operated by Liberty University's chief information officer to "try to rig online polls in" Trump's favor in 2014 and 2015. One such poll, conducted by WSM, ranked the nation's top business leaders, while the other, a Drudge Report poll, ranked potential Republican candidates for president. Politico's recent article added to that account, citing a half-dozen Liberty University sources who said when the information officer, John Gauger, went to New York to collect payment from Cohen, "he was joined by Trey Falwell," who is both a vice president at Liberty and the son of Falwell Jr. "During that trip, Trey posted a now-deleted photo to Instagram of around $12,000 in cash spread on a hotel bed, raising questions about his knowledge of Gauger's poll-rigging work," Politico reported. One tax expert said Herring might be reluctant to launch an investigation into Falwell Jr.'s conduct at Liberty because of of a lack of manpower — or fear by a Democratic attorney general that he will be accused of acting for partisan reasons against the backer of a Republican president. "State attorney generals normally don't have the type of resources to deal with those sort of things, and they can get generally political, which might make them very hesitant to step in," said Philip Hackney, an associate professor of law at the University of Pittsburgh. But Hackney said that if Herring does not probe Falwell's actions, "The more immediate answer is the board needs to look into these things." "I think individuals taking advantage of a non-profit to their benefit raises real questions that should be answered ideally by the board, and, if not them, then by the government," Hackney said. On the heels of Poltico's report, Falwell Jr. claimed Tuesday he is the target of a "criminal conspiracy" by former board members and current employees seeking to oust him. Falwell told The Hill.com news site that he is sharing information with the FBI and expects agents from the bureau to visit Liberty University to review documents in connection with his claims that former colleague at the school have stolen university emails and shared them with reporters to smear him.
