Hi, my name is Emilia and I’m just your average kind of girl. Curvy, brown curly hair.. what else? Oh right. I love books even though I have barely any time to read them,  I like music and going to concerts or the theater every now and then.. I love to be out in nature, especially in the woods or on the water. And honestly? I think that’s all you need to know about me. Exciting isn’t it? You don’t think so? Well I agree. Honestly right now I’m not exactly loving life. I mean I have a job that I like and sure I have a roof above my head and I’ve got some lovely friends so I guess it could be worse. But I can’t help but feel like I’m..stuck? My friends are getting their own places, getting into relationships, some are even getting married or starting families.. and then there’s me. Single. No experience whatsoever and no possible partner insight.. I want to get my own place but simply can’t afford that yet and..
-Tumblr wouldn't allow me to put the full story in here so click this ^ link to continue reading.. Enjoy! <3 -

Life in the Fastfood Lane - Charlie Gillespie: Ch 2
- Ch 1, Ch 2
As the story continues, Charlie's weight gain becomes more pronounced. He has gained a significant amount of weight, both fat and muscle, and his appearance has changed dramatically. Others on set begin to take notice, including his close castmate Owen...
Tumblr media
Charlie's body continued to change, growing bulkier as he tried to build muscle in addition to the extra fat he was carrying. He found himself in a constant battle between his desires and the expectations of his acting career. His physique continued to evolve, with a combination of muscle and fat that made for an imposing and unique appearance.
His once-flat stomach now sported a prominent, jiggly belly, while his muscular arms and pecs had grown even more massive due to his new workout routine. Charlie had gained a significant amount of weight, and his once chiseled abs had been replaced by a rounder belly.
As he took off his shirt during a scene on set, his belly jiggled, catching everyone's attention, including his castmate Owen. It was a dramatic difference from when they originally had practiced the scene during the pilot a month ago.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Charlie's appearance overall had evolved dramatically. His once rock-hard abs faded, replaced by a round, jiggly belly. The ex-jock had transformed into a handsome, fuller version of himself, and both he and Owen found the change to be incredibly appealing.
Owen approached Charlie, curiosity and amusement dancing in his eyes. "What happened to you, man?" he asked, not unkindly.
Charlie laughed and replied, "I discovered In-N-Out, and it's been a game-changer."
Owen, feeling adventurous and attracted to Charlie's new look, suggests they have some fun with it. Owen couldn't help but flirt a little, "Well, I think this new look suits you."
Intrigued, Charlie asked if Owen would like to help him with his new "project." Owen agreed, and they made plans to meet at Charlie's trailer after the scene wrapped up.
When Owen arrives, he finds Charlie indulging in a box of a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, chocolate smeared all over his face. Owen can't help but feel turned on at the sight of Charlie eating so enthusiastically, his face flushed with excitement. Charlie notices Owen's reaction and playfully offers him a donut, teasing him that if Owen won't feed him, he'll just have to do it himself.
Owen spots Charlie's workout bag and asks him what's inside, considering he doesn't seem to work out as much anymore. Charlie, pretending to be insulted, lifts his tank top to reveal his round belly and asks if Owen thinks he doesn't work out or have abs anymore. Charlie then jiggles his belly, revealing the truth about his current physical state.
Feigning offense, Charlie lifted his tank top, revealing his round belly. "What do you mean? Don't you think I still work out? Can't you see my abs?" he joked, jiggling his belly for emphasis.
Owen smirks and retrieves a pair of gym shorts and a tank top from Charlie's workout bag. These clothes would have fit Charlie 30 pounds ago, but now they are much too small. The clothing was clearly too small for Charlie now, but he held them up anyway, playfully daring him to try them on. He then took out a jar of weight gain powder and asked, "What's this for? Gaining muscle or fat?"
Tumblr media
Charlie grinned, a twinkle in his eye, and replied flirtatiously, "Both."
Feeling a mix of excitement and curiosity, Owen challenges Charlie to try on his old workout clothes. Charlie obliges, squeezing himself into the skin-tight shorts and struggling to pull the tank top over his now-massive frame. When he emerges from the bathroom, his fat, muscular ass is accentuated by the tight shorts, and his tank top rides up his belly, unable to contain his newfound girth.
Tumblr media
His muscular arms bulge out from the sides of the tank top, and his pecs jut out above his round belly. Charlie looks absolutely enormous in the overly tight clothes, and Owen can barely contain himself. He feels an intense desire to touch Charlie, to feel the contrast between his soft rolls, overgrown muscles, and ample ass.
Charlie grabbed Owen's hand and asked him to massage and rub his softening belly. Owen, always up for an adventure, agreed to help Charlie indulge in his desires.
Owen prepared a weight gain shake using the powder and two tubs of ice cream. The concoction was thick and rich, perfect for Charlie's quest to add more weight to his already changed body. Owen found a beer funnel and began pouring the shake into Charlie's eager mouth. They both felt a sense of excitement and anticipation as Charlie guzzled down the shake.
As Charlie consumed the shake, his belly grew more bloated, straining against the waistband of his too-tight shorts. Owen, intrigued by the contrast between Charlie's belly and his own toned abs, removed his shirt to compare their physiques. The sight of Owen's muscular body next to Charlie's softer, rounder figure heightened the intensity of the moment.
Unable to resist the attraction between them, Charlie and Owen shared a passionate kiss, their hands exploring each other's bodies. Owen found himself drawn to Charlie's belly, gently caressing and admiring the soft roundness he had helped create.
Tumblr media
A month later, Owen and Charlie could be seen at the beach making their debut as a couple, as well as Charlie's debut showing off his new beach bod. Headlines were sure to make a fuss over the heart throb's sudden and rapid weight gain.

Down For the Count ✧ After a hard fall resulting in a bad injury, your boyfriend Charlie comes to the rescue to be your care taker at the same time as he has a Live with Owen.
Lucky Charm ✧ Meeting Charlie at the rink after hockey practice for date night leads him to take you to his favorite pizza spot, and gifts you an honor you can’t refuse.

Tough Competition ✧ Savannah simulates a dance competition for you after learning you’ve never been in one, and your secret relationship with Charlie slowly surfaces to your cast mates.
Betrothed ✧ Evading love for so long has its consequences, but the resistance just might have paid off when you meet a certain prince who’s searching for his princess.
✮ Winners and Losers ✧ Charlie’s day off consists of spending time with his favorite girl, and making bets that he’s seemingly destined to lose.
Charlie Gillespie - nsfw
A Helping Hand ✧ Your best friend Charlie is shocked to hear you’ve been deprived of a certain sexual experience, and is more than willing to help fix that. (18+)

Owen Patrick Joyner - sfw
Dating Owen Joyner Would Include… ✧  Bullet points of boyfriend!Owen headcanons.
✮ Hey Princess ✧ Dating a Netflix star can be tough in the way of getting recognized in public, but being a Disney Princess just may give Owen a run for his money.
Party Hard ✧ Going from tipsy to full on drunk is a terrible idea, but especially when you’ve got a secret to hide that could mean the difference between preserving and ruining your relationship with your best friend.
Reading My Boyfriend’s Fanfiction?? ✧ Being an influencer meant this day was a long time coming: it was time to put Owen on your channel.
A Pretty Good Bad Idea ✧ Touring with the Julie and The Phantoms cast as a dancer has been the best time of your life, and the only thing that could make it better is the reciprocated affections of a cute, blond drummer.
They’re Not You ✧ You’ve been successful in avoiding and ignoring your romantic feelings for your best friend… so far.
Doomsayers ✧ Owen had to practically harass you to get you to relax on your mutual day off, but the quality time together takes an unexpected turn when you exhibit a small sense of self-doubt.
New Neighbors ✧ Whilst your two best friends are helping you move into your new place, you find out that your next door neighbor is a major cutie who is totally into you, too.
✮ Baby Fever ✧ You and Owen spend a day at the zoo babysitting Baby Shada, and her presence sparks conversation about adding a new presence of your very own.
✮ City Slicker, Cowboyfriend ✧ You’re starting to have doubts about moving all the way to Norman until a shopping trip to Ikea turns into the meet-cute you’ve been waiting for.
Mesmerizing ✧ Crashing at your best friend’s place after a shitty date for the third time causes some sexual tension to bubble to the surface.
Chocolate Cake ✧ Owen’s new place is finally mold free, and he’s invited you over to stay the night. Being petite has more disadvantages than advantages, two of which are a teasing boyfriend and large dog breeds.
Only Need Five ✧ Breaking up with your boyfriend proves difficult when he follows you to your after-breakup plans. Owen puts you at ease and performs a less than innocent song he wrote about your chemistry together. (Indirect sequel to Tell Me Your Favorite Song.)
Wrap Party ✧ Unconvinced Owen is crushing on you, you show up to the cast party ready to let loose with the girls. The night takes an unexpected turn the Owen claims to be the expert on date-nights.
✮ Lazy Day, Stupid Question ✧ You and Owen take a well-deserved lazy day nap together, before movie night in the Joyner-Gillespie household. After recalling a certain reddit post, you make a discovery about the ways of men.
Owen Patrick Joyner - nsfw
Pity Prom? ✧ After learning you’ve never attended a prom, Owen takes it upon himself to recreate the most magical dance you’ve ever had. (18+)
Tell Me Your Favorite Song ✧ Your inattentive boyfriend is falling inferior to a certain drummer from your AP Lit class, who gets to know you better inside and out. (18+)
Say No to This + Unbiased Source ✧ Being cast as Mariah Reynolds means you’ve got your work cut out for you, and to add to the pressure, Owen, your Alexander is exuding a sexual tension you’ve never seen before. Hopefully, no one notices.
✵ - ✵ - ✵ - ✵ - ✵ - ✵
Platonic!Cast
✮ Sculpin and White Claws ✧ Your ‘not-quite girlfriend’ has come over to yours, Charlie’s, and Owen’s shared apartment; your evening is disrupted by the energetic antics of two idiot boys in the other room.
The Best-Worst Day ✧ Bad days are manageable when Charlie and Owen are the best roommates a girl could ask for.

“That’s the fastest you can go, my mother can skate better than that!” Coach Johnson shouted at his team. Who were huffing and puffing deeply due to the amount of laps they had to do. You were never quite sure why you agreed to meet up with your best friend at the hockey rink across the other side of school. There was never much to look forward to…well that is if you counted the big sweaty jocks that wore padded gear and shoulder pads. Although you weren’t really all about that.
Alisa liked to gawk at them as they practiced their drills and skated across the ice. Correction: she liked to gawk and stare at her boyfriend. Alex McGee, a wholesome of six feet, brunette and the team’s best defense they had. You may not have liked to stare at the attractive specimens that walked the earth before your eyes, but you did have an appreciation for the sport. Hockey was no joke, the guys’ hard work always showed off during each game. Practice was a whole different story though.
Whereas Alice stared and drooled, you on the other hand. You liked to think that you were there for moral support. Yet you mostly just joined her to keep her company as you read your book that lay on your lap.
“Woo go Alex!” Alice cheered him on as he made a goal. The team was split up into two groups, one on defense and the other on offense. Alex was working on the offensive side. His coach wanted to see some improvement on his offense lineup, so his coach switched it up today.
You flinched at how loud she was being. You were hunched over on the bleachers freezing your butt off. Not to mention you were getting tired. Your head rested in the palm of your left hand as you read about areo-dynamics and quantum gravity.
-
“Showing off now cause your girl is here eh?” Charlie teased skating circles around Alex. “Does she know that you occasionally suck at practice?” He laughed.
“Oh fuck off, Gillespie.” Alex rolled his eyes and jerked his shoulder into Charlie's, knocking him slightly off balance.
“Oh come on you know I’m just messing with ya, eh?” Charlie caught up to him.
“Yeah, yeah, although you know…Y/n’s with Alisa today.” Alex smirked, nudging the smaller boy. Charlie immediately let his gaze fall to you. He could see you talking to Alisa through the clear screen that divided the ice from the bleachers. Then he looked away as if he wasn’t phased by you being here today.
“And?” He shrugged.
“And? Dude, come on.” Alex scoffed. “Don’t play dumb, you have a major crush on her.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m with Sage, remember.” Charlie brushed him off as he looked over to his on and off girlfriend, who sat alongside with her group of friends. He got into his position. His stick met the ice and his eyes grew determined. Alex in front of him copying his movements. The coach stood in the middle of them with a puck in his hands. He had said something but Charlie tuned him out.
“And how’s that working out for ya?” Alex countered back as he shoved his shoulder pad into Charlie, knocking the poor boy on his ass. Then stole the puck as soon as the coach blew the whistle. Whisking past Charlie to end up making a goal, again. Charlie groaned as he lay on the ice. “Not so great...” He muttered.
-
“Yeah! That was so good babe!” Alice exclaimed, hollering from her seat next to you. Alex smiled at her and pointed at her, letting her know that he scored for her.
You slowly lifted your head to look at her with raised eyebrows. Her smile didn’t die down. You had to laugh.
“You do know this is just practice right?” You giggled. You shook your head at your best friend who felt the need to go all out on a Friday nights practice.
“I know…” she shrugged. You raised an eyebrow at her. She turned her eyes to look at you.
“Shut up.” She pouted then laughed along with you.
“Hey I’m not judging…” You put your hands up to show her you meant well. “It’s sweet that you come to cheer him on during practice too.” You playfully nudged her.
“Almost as sweet as your crush on a certain someone.” She threw a smirk your way.
“What are you talking about?” You began avoiding the topic of the matter.
“You know what I’m talking about. Sexy five foot eight, Charlie. Every girl’s biggest crush at school, Charlie. Oh please oh please be my lab partner, Charlie!” She emphasized.
“Charlie? Captain of the hockey team, Charlie. The most likable and most popular guy at our school, Charlie.” When you got nervous you babbled a little…okay a lot.
“Yes!” She laughed.
“Yeah no, you’re crazy. Completely insane. I don’t have a crush on Charlie. What makes you think I like him? I don’t have uh...a crush on Charlie. Charlie doesn’t even know I exist. He doesn’t even know my name. Once I accidentally bumped into him in the hallways!” You pointed out. “I fell.” You nodded. “He didn’t really help me up, but he did acknowledge me.” You then made a face at the fact of how that sounded. “Oh wait…okay look whatever. He’s a jock, he’s popular, he’s cute…and I’m-” You took a deep breath in from talking too quickly.
“About to pass out!” Alisa looked at you with wide eyes as she handed you a water bottle to drink. You opened it hastily and took big sips. “One more mention of him and you’re sure to black out.” She teased. “Fan the girl!” Alisa grabbed a notebook and fanned you with it.
You swallowed the water down and put the cap back on. Your breath slowly calms down.
“When are you gonna get the guts to tell him?” She shook her head.
“Um…never.” You made a face. Alisa scoffed. “Lis come on, you know there’s no way on this earth that I’d even have a chance with him.” You nervously laugh. Alisa just sat there and gave you a knowing look. You avoided her gaze then looked out onto the ice where you saw his jersey number rush past his other teammates. “It’s not gonna happen. Besides he has a girlfriend, remember..” You muttered. You looked away from him then looked down at your book that was now closed. “I-I can’t talk to anyone. Let alone a guy.” Alisa sighed as she scooted closer to you. She wrapped her arm around you and let you lay your head on her shoulder.
“Well from what I’ve heard. Charlie’s thinking of breaking up with her, for good this time.” She shoved you to try and get you to lighten up. “And you can talk to guys…you’re just shy. Plus you get that cute little stutter when you get nervous. Not to mention how much of a clutz you are when you do talk to a cute boy. Oh not to mention the way you start going off about random facts about areo-dynamics of physics. It’s brilliant.” She laughed. “It’s all a work in progress baby!” She said sarcastically.
“Gee thanks Lis, I feel…so much better.” You lifted your head and squinted your eyes at her.
“That’s what I’m here for!” She smiled. “But hey, no seriously you’ll figure it out. You always do.” She pulled you into her side again and hugged you tightly.
“I don’t know about this Lis.” You played with your gloves. “It seems out of my capability.”
“Hey this is coming from the girl who created a physics project about figure skating, not to mention you figured out that there was an exact areo-dynamic formula. If you can do that, you can talk to a boy, and honestly, if Charlie can’t see how amazing you are. Then that’s his loss.” You slowly smiled at her words of encouragement. She always had the right thing to say. Whether it was in the form of sarcasm or straight up bluntness, or the whole truth, she made her point and she made you feel better.
“Lis you know the computer didn’t make the jumps for them, it was all-”
“-all them yeah, yeah I know. Still pretty impressive though…Oh, practice is over!” She beamed as she shot up from her seat. You turned to look out onto the rink and noticed that the team was gone. Probably back in the locker rooms changing out of their gear for the night.
“How long have we been talking?” You furrowed your brows as you reached for your book.
“Who cares! I’ll be right back okay. Don’t go anywhere.” Alisa stood up then walked.
“Where else would I go?” You questioned.
With that Alisa walked down the bleachers and made her way to the locker rooms to wait outside for Alex like she always did.
You sighed pulling your jacket closer to your body. You enjoyed being at the rink, but the cold was not your favorite. Yet the view was nice.
Heat rushed to your cheeks as you noticed Charlie talking to someone through the clear glass a few feet away from where you were sitting. You could barely make out their voices but you were able to tell that they had been arguing.
You looked down at your lap trying not to eavesdrop.
“Can I go?” Charlie tried moving past Sage, but was shoved back. She pushed him back by his shoulder.
“No, we need to talk about this.” Sage tried getting him to stop, but Charlie wasn’t having it.
“There’s nothing to talk about Sage.” Charlie laughed, shaking his head. “I don’t want to be with you anymore, what don’t you get about that?” He furrowed his brows. “I can’t keep doing this okay, it’s not…I can’t anymore Sage.” Charlie trailed off letting his arms fall to his sides. He looked worn out and tired. Sweat prominent on his face caused his dark brown hair to stick to his forehead. He looked off to the side trying to avoid Sage’s gaze and in the process of doing so he caught your gaze. As soon as she realized he was no longer staring at her. She turned around and noticed you staring at them.
“Ever heard of a privacy freak?” She replied nastily. You froze, eyes widening as she started talking to you. “Earth to dumbass, can you hear me?” You looked away from her as you started clumsily packing your book into your bag.
“Sorry. I uh. Sorry.” You grew so nervous and anxious, you ended up tripping over your feet as you rushed down the bleachers. Your shoe laces being untied causing you to hit the floor. Sage couldn’t help but laugh at you, catching the attention of her friends who sat not far from the three of you. You wanted nothing more than the floor to swallow you whole. You quickly got up feeling a sudden ache on your left leg. You hurriedly rushed past them and exited the ice rink.
“Y/n-” Charlie tried reaching out for you but you had run off so quickly, you didn’t hear him. His eyes fell to the floor where he saw your book. It must have fallen out when you fell. He picked it up then closed his eyes trying to control himself. He opened them back up and faced Sage who was smiling.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Charlie scowled. He turned around and started making his way to the locker rooms, no longer wanting to be in the presence of Sage.
“Charlie, we’re not done here.” Sage called after him, stepping down from the first step. ”I’m not done talking to you, we can fix this Charlie.”
“Yeah well I’m done talking to you Sage…It was nice knowing ya.” He nodded to her and turned around to continue walking.
“Fine then…” Sage crossed her arms. “It...It wasn’t working anyway!” Sage countered but Charlie was long gone by that point.
-
You didn’t know how long you had been waiting at the front steps of the school. Forty minutes closing in to almost an hour. Alisa was nowhere to be found and your leg was starting to hurt more than ever. Not to mention your jacket was doing little to almost nothing to provide you warmth.
Where are you, Lis?
You looked out into the parking lot. Only a few cars remained. You breathed out through your mouth causing a puff of air to come out. You sighed pulling out your phone, checking the time which now read ten fifty. You knew that she had her moments with Alex after his practices, but this time it felt like she wasn’t coming. You crossed your arms over your chest to try and get warm. It was too late to call your parents for a ride, and you knew walking would take forever, but you knew you had no other choice. You sighed again and picked up your shoulder bag. You flinched as you felt the pain shoot up your left leg. Some serious bruising was sure to be there by morning. You slowly stepped down the steps and started your trek home.
You found it to be a lot harder to walk, especially with the cold, but mostly due to the ache in your ankle. You were limping with each step you took forward. You didn’t know if you could actually make the walk home, but you knew that no one else was around so you chose to suffer.
“Hey Y/n, wait up!” You heard a voice call over your shoulder. You tensed up not thinking anyone would still be at school. You slowly turned around and felt your shoulders relax once you realized it had only been Charlie, which now made your heart rate pick up.
“Charlie?” You furrowed your brows as he jogged up to you. He was now clad in dark jeans, a light blue Henley with an orange flannel over it and his fur jean coat on top. No longer sporting the sweat he had during practice.
“Hey.” He gave you that perfect smile that made you all flustered and nervous. “Glad I caught you, Y/n.” He nervously laughed as he scratched the back of his neck.
“He knows my name.” You thought.
“Of course I know your name.” He chuckled.
“Did...Did I say that out loud?” Your eyes widened in fear.
“Afraid so.” He nodded.
“Oh…” That was all you could muster the courage to say.
Charlie on the other hand found your nervous state adorable, which caused him to smile again. “Anyway I just wanted to catch you and tell you that um…that I’m sorry about what Sage said.” He nervously smiled. “That wasn’t cool of her and it wasn’t funny. She shouldn’t have laughed at you.” He looked down then up at your eyes. He then reached around to open his backpack to get something out. “Also I-” He started but you cut him off.
“-Oh that! You...You don’t have to apologize Charlie, that wasn’t your fault it was my fault!” Charlie furrowed his brows in confusion at your words. “I’m such a clutz I don’t even know where…where my head is most of the time.” You started babbling again. “See I get nervous around people, mostly cute guys, but who doesn’t, amiright.” You laugh nervously. “You’re cute...a cute guy, and it doesn’t help my thought process at all! See Lisa thinks I have this problem talking to guys that I like, which I don’t think is true at all.” You quickly shook your head.
“You like-” Charlie smiled then was cut off again.
“-she also says I start babbling about areo-dynamics, but I don’t understand why she thinks I do that? Though I think she does have a point about me talking too much, once I start it’s kind of hard to shut me up. I-I could talk your ear off if you wanted me too, not that you’d probably want me to. I mean who wants to hear about areo-dynamics right? Although it is a very interesting topic to talk about.” Charlie just smiled and nodded as you kept talking. “Did you know that Physics actually plays a large role in both large and small aspects of figure skating. On a minimal level when a skater jumps into the air, it’s the force of gravity that pulls them back down onto the ice. Forces and energy are big components that factor into the success of a skaters routine and abilities. That’s why they’re able to do all these crazy tricks and turns. Half of the preparation for their jumps begins with gliding on the ice and picking up speed. Momentum...is always conserved, meaning that unless some outside force enters a system, its total momentum must stay constant, which means that the skater will continue to build and hold on to that speed they’re picking up while skating. I-It’s a form of kinetic energy, it’s used to propel the skater into the air so that they’re able to execute a flawless jump…it’s-” You got cut off by a pair of lips. Charlie had quickly cupped your face and kissed you roughly. You stood still then kissed him back. Your hands slowly land on his shoulders bringing him closer. Charlie’s hands now at your waist. When you pulled away you had to gasp for air slightly. Charlie took your breath away. You slowly opened your eyes and stared at him, your mouth agape.
“Did you just…you kissed me.” You muttered.
“Yeah I did.” He breathed out smiling.
“Charlie Gillespie just kissed me.” You couldn’t believe what just happened. “You just…you kissed me, kissed, we kissed.” You gulped. Heat quickly rushed to your face as you avoided his gaze. Charlie surely shut you up because you were rambling and talking too much. He must’ve thought you were a complete geek by now. “Was that your nice way of telling me to shut up?” Your eyes glowed with innocence in them. Charlie laughed a little at your question.
“Maybe I just really wanted to kiss you.” He shrugged and played coy. “Or maybe I did want to shut you up.” He teased you.
“Sorry.” You nervously chuckle.
“Don’t be sorry.” Charlie stepped closer and lifted your chin slightly to look at him. “It was cute.” He admitted. “But back to what I was trying to say.” He chuckled, teasing you causing you to smile. “I wanted to give this back to you.” He then pulled out your book and handed it over to you.
“My book?” You questioned.
“You dropped it by accident when you…you fell. I just wanted to make sure it got back to you.” Charlie pocketed his hands into his jeans slightly rocking on his heels.
“Thank you, Charlie.” You smiled gratefully at him. “I-I should probably get going now, it’s pretty late.” You gestured over your shoulder. You ended up stepping wrongly causing you to hiss out in pain. “Ow!” You grabbed your leg. Charlie rushed forward.
“You okay?”
“I’m fine, it's just my leg. I think I sprained it.” You scrunch your face in pain.
“Y/n you can barely stand on it.” Charlie frowned letting you lean on him for support. “Let me drive you home, okay.”
“No...” You held your hands out. “It’s okay Charlie I-”
“-You’re crazy if you think I’m letting you walk this late with a possibly sprained ankle.” Charlie shook his head. “Alisa would kill me.” He mumbled under his breath but you heard him.
“Why would she kill you?”
Charlie then stiffened up.
“Charlie?”
“Because...she asked if I could give you a ride home.” He looked down.
“She asked you?” You pulled away from him. Charlie grew hurt that you pulled away so quickly. “So she put you up this…did you really want to give me my book back, or?” You grew hurt at the thought that he might’ve only wanted to talk to you because of Alisa.
“Y/n it’s not like that okay. Alisa has nothing to do with this okay. I did want to talk to you. I do want to talk to you. I have for a while now.” Charlie nodded. He reached forward to grab a hold of your hands. “I wouldn’t do that to someone I like.”
“You like me?” You gaped at him.
“Was that kiss not obvious?” Charlie squinted his eyes and tilted his head. You ended up laughing.
“I don’t know...I think you were just trying to get me to stop talking, since you know, I do tend to talk way more than I shou-” Charlie chuckled, reaching forward to cup your face and kiss you again. You were more than happy to stop talking and let your lips mold together perfectly. You didn’t think someone’s lips could be so soft, feel so good, and taste so sweet. You smiled into the kiss as Charlie tugged you closer by the waist. You pulled back. “Okay I think I’m convinced now.” You nodded, feeling blissful and happy.
“You sure?” Charlie teased. “I can try and make it more obvious. I have other methods.” Charlie suggested. He smirked as he leaned forward to brush his lips against your ear causing a shiver to run up your back.
“Oh.” Your eyes widened. “Maybe I can just talk your ear off again.” You bit your lip. “I have enough knowledge to share that will last you a lifetime. Did you know that stars die every-”
“Nope shhh.” Charlie cut you off placing his lips on yours again.
“But I-” You began.
“No.” Charlie pecked you sweetly. “No.” He shook his head.
“Fine, but one day you’re gonna need to know about how stars die, and you’re gonna end up regretting not letting me tell you.”
Charlie pondered the idea for a second then brushed it off. “No, I don’t think I will.” He smiled. “Come on, let's get you home now.” He let you lean on him as you walked forward with your good leg.
“Oh!” You exclaimed half way to his jeep. “I know about hockey!”
“No, Y/n no!” Charlie protested.
“Did you know that the first organized hockey game played indoors, which just so happened to occur in eighteen seventy-five, in Montreal, Canada.” You smiled at Charlie who looked just about ready to let you walk home.
“Did not know that…”
“Also the first puck used during outdoor hockey in the eighteen hundreds was made of frozen cow dung. Way to go Charlie, that’s an innocent cow you’re hitting around.” You said sarcastically.
“Alright that’s it!” Charlie chuckled as he picked you up bridal style and carried you the rest of the way to his car.
“I kind of like this.” You approved as you patted his chest with your glove.
“I will drop you.” Charlie warned, eyeing you.
“Ooh I know, we can discuss ways to efficiently improve your speed while on the ice. I’m thinking…Longer skating strides which will widen your strides. For acceleration, nothing compares to short off-ice sprints, you could use the improvement, so can Alex…Let’s see, are you using the right equipment? Less equipment use will mean for you to be faster during practices. Your workouts should incorporate explosive movement of your body. It’s about building strength, not slowing down the process.” You squint your eyes trying to think about what else you knew. “Are you eating alright?” You looked up at Charlie who was staring at you with his mouth agape and disbelief.
“Did you just call me slow?” He gaped at you with furrowed brows.
“No...” You looked away.
“Uh huh.” Charlie rolled his eyes.
“Oh I know!”
“No!” Charlie finally got to his car and gently set you down. Just as you were about to speak again he pulled you into a rough slow kiss. This one lasting longer. “Shut up…” Charlie gasped for air before taking your lower lip and biting into it.
“I’ll shut up now...” You breathed out, closing your eyes, feeling dizzy.

TOTALLY KILLER (2023)
Starring Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen, Randall Park, Lochlyn Munro, Charlie Gillespie, Liana Liberato, Kelcey Mawema, Stephi Chin-Salvo, Anna Diaz, Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson, Ella Choi, Nathaniel Appiah, Jonathan Potts, Kelcey Mawema, Stephi Chin-Salvo, Ella Choi, Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar and Nathaniel Appiah.
Screenplay by David Matalon & Sasha Perl-Raver and Jen D'Angelo.
Directed by Nahnatchka Khan.
Distributed by Amazon Studios. 106 minutes. Rated R.
It’s funny to imagine the pitch meeting for Totally Killer. “Well, it’s a slasher horror film about a masked killer targeting high school mean girls… And did we mention that it’s also a post-modern comedy? Oh, and also, it’s about time travel.”
Totally Killer has so many balls in the air at once that it is kind of shocking that it is as good it turns out to be.
With a relatively unknown young cast – lead Kiernan Shipka has a following for playing Sabrina the teenaged witch in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale and her mom is played by Modern Family’s Julie Bowen – Totally Killer is a near complete surprise. And it’s a good surprise.
Now to be completely honest, Totally Killer works better as a comedy than as a horror – the killer sections in fact tend to be the soft spots here – but it’s a smart and funny film. And, let’s face it, most horror films since the original Scream work comic beats into their scripts.
It is all smartly and snappily directed by television scribe Nahnatchka Khan – best known for creating the quirky TV series Don’t Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 and Fresh off the Boat. (Her Fresh off the Boat star Randall Park has a funny supporting part as an ineffectual sheriff.)
It’s a terribly high concept idea. Jamie (Shipka) is a teenager who is in complete revolt from her overprotective do-good mother Pam (Bowen). It seems that back in the 1980s when mom was 16 (Jamie’s age now…), three of her friends were stabbed to death by “The Sweet Sixteen Killer” – and Pam has been expecting him to return ever since.
The killer has become something of a local celebrity – inspiring “Sweet Sixteen Killer” tours and Halloween costumes – but he has not been heard of since the original killings 35 years earlier.
And of course when Pam’s daughter turns 16, the killer returns, with filled with violent intents. Naturally he targets Jamie. Jamie’s best friend has been trying unsuccessfully to build a time machine from an old photo booth for the local science fair, based upon her mother’s long-ago notes, because of course she is. As the killer tries to get Jamie, she hides in the time machine. As the killer stabs at her in the booth, his violent stabbing inadvertently causes the machine to work.
Jamie arrives in 1987, on the day that the killings are about to start. (This is not as random as that may sound, she and her friend programmed in the date while the time machine was not operational. Now Jamie has to find the victims and save them, to figure out who the killer was, and to figure out how to get back to her own time. That last part is particularly tricky, as the time machine runs on Wi-Fi, which does not exist in 1987.
Also, it turns out, she has to keep her teen parents – who are much wilder than their future selves would suggest – from hooking up yet, because they are not supposed to get together until after they finish college.
Of course she quickly finds that telling the truth to alert the police and the potential victims of the danger, is not going to work. Even she recognizes that comparing herself to Marty McFly in Back to the Future to try to explain what happened makes her sound nuts. So she decides to act like a new student – recently moved there from Prince Edwards Island, Canada, of all places – and befriend her mother and the victims, who turn to be the local mean girl clique called the Mollys. (They idolize Molly Ringwald and tend to dress in outfits that match her different film wardrobes.)
With many fits and starts and roadblocks, she finally befriends teen Pam (Olivia Holt) and goes about trying to save everyone. But the more she tries, the more she slightly changes history, and she fails at stopping the killings.
The fish out of water aspects of a modern teen in the 1980s never fails to connect. Shipka frustratedly scolding her 1980s counterpoints with things like “unwanted touch” or “you can’t call her that” make for comic gold. Dealing with things like keggers and dodgeball and nude hot tubbing make for some wonderfully awkward humor.
Totally Killer also gets bonus points for having a major sequence in one of my favorite forgotten carnival rides, the Gravitron (redubbed the Quantum Drop here). As Wikipedia explains: “The ride is completely enclosed, with 48 padded panels lining the inside wall. Riders lean against these panels, which are angled back. As the ride rotates, the rider experiences a centrifugal force pointing outward from the ride's center. This force, along with the slant in the walls, allows riders to be completely supported by the walls, without their feet touching the ground. The ride can rotate at a maximum frequency of 24 rpm. It reaches that frequency in less than 20 seconds…. At this point, the riders are experiencing centrifugal force equivalent to three times the force of gravity.”
If Totally Killer somehow becomes responsible for the resurrection of the Gravitron regaining popularity in carnivals, then it will not just be a terrifically fun film, but it will have done a great service for humanity.

✗ CONFIDENTIAL TRIBUTE FACILITY SIGN UP SHEET records the attendance of SMITH BRICK, a TRIBUTE from DISTRICT TWO. The applicable authorities may note, that the 19 year old MALE (HE/HIS) is PROUD, SOCIABLE, ENERGETIC, but has also been known to be ANTAGONISTIC, IMPULSIVE, AGGRESSIVE. Similarities in appearance can be seen with CHARLIE GILLESPIE. According to previous reports, they’re often associated with THE EARLY DAWN FOLLOWING A BAD NIGHT OUT AND BLOODY, BRUISED KNUCKLES AFTER ONE TOO MANY DRINKS.
BIO
Smith Brick–blink and you’ll miss it. As the resident shit-stain on the family name, it’s hard to believe that he stands alongside his brothers, Miller and Mason. While his parents had worked hard to bring up the Bricks as the institution it is today, Smith’s very existence seems to be contrary to the name altogether. His father may have stressed how important their legacy is, but the troublesome middle child had other plans. Not that Smith cared to listen to the guy who treated his children like trophies. No, he’d sooner follow his brothers into war than hear what his parents had to say. Despite their differences, Smith couldn’t imagine not having both Mason and Miller by his side through it all.
Hot-headed and temperamental, Smith always thought that he got the short end of the stick. They might have been hard on Miller with all the responsibilities they put on the poor guy and they got on Mason’s case cause the kid was too soft, but Clayton and Paloma looked at Smith as if he were nothing more than dirt on their all-too expensive shoes. Then again, he wasn’t one to argue if they were funding his lifestyle. So what if he set a fire or two and became a regular in the Peacekeeper’s holding cells? The two never expected much from him anyway.
Everyone said the Hunger Games used to be scary–bad, even. That kids from Two worried about hearing their names called to the stage. Smith, on the other hand, didn’t give a shit. What did he care about people from his district volunteering for their deaths? With so many kids offering themselves as tributes, it wasn’t as if he’d seen it as a threat. Those idiots could chase the glory if they wanted–Smith Brick had better things to do.
Maybe that’s why it made being at the Career Academy all the more a pain in Smith’s ass. Well, not that he had much of a choice. Smith struggled during his time there, constantly getting into fist-fights with other students and landing himself in detention more often than he attended class. He might have been a gifted fighter but Smith lacked the focus and discipline as a Career. The training was pointless when violence seemed inherent in the Brick bloodline.
After pulling Miller out of the Career Academy, Smith was naturally next in line as a potential volunteer. As fucking if. Clayton Brick being on his deathbed was not his problem. All he had to do was coast by like he always had at his family’s expense until he could collect his inheritance. Shocking just about everybody, the old man got better and his parents returned to their old ways. Miller, heir apparent, was moved up the ladder in the family company while Smith remained an afterthought.
When the 25th Hunger Games came around, Smith was dealt a crushing blow–Mason would be leaving for the Capitol as District Two’s new escort. A cause for celebration for the newly announced Quarter Quell but, to Smith, it meant being left alone with his parents. Even though he wasn’t jumping at the chance to join them, the thought of being the only kid to deal with his father’s harsh criticisms made it that much worse. As his older brother was already implanted among those rich snobs and his younger onto bigger and better things, it was clear that Smith wasn’t deemed worthy enough to stand alongside them after all.
Or, so he thought. He learned that his father planned to send him to the Capitol when his brother called his name during the reaping. Smith Brick would be a tribute for the first Quarter Quell, voted in by his neighbours. It was a miracle that his father managed to wrangle up the votes and keep it under wraps, but Smith wouldn’t put anything past him. With two sons involved in the Hunger Games for the first time, it was inevitable that they would throw the disposable child into the fold. And, of course, Smith wasn’t going to volunteer. No, his father would just have to do it for him. Clayton would get his victor one way or another.
As a Career, he understands the importance of strategy and technique but isn’t afraid to hit below the belt if he has to. As skilled as he is in a bare-knuckle brawl, Smith’s at his best with a mace or club in hand. Known as “Smit-head” in Two, his need for attention (as the typical middle child) comes at the cost of looking like an asshole. Though, you might catch his sentimental side at the mention of his brothers. It would explain why he brought a ring from Two, stolen from his brother’s desk, to remind him what he’s fighting for. None of that shit his father wants him from him. ‘Cause if Smith has to play the game, fuck it, he’s going to play it his own way.

When Miles Davis named the five geniuses of American music
Tumblr media
(Credits: Far Out / Tom Palumbo)
Dale Maplethorpe (Far Out Magazine):
Miles Davis will go down as arguably one of the most honest musicians who ever became famous, perfectly personified by his attendance at an awards ceremony at the White House. When asked by someone he described as a “politician’s wife” why America is so keen on neglecting jazz, he answered, “Jazz is ignored here because the white man likes to win everything.”
The woman asked in retaliation, “What have you done that’s so important in your life?”, to which he responded, “Well, I’ve changed music five or six times.”
He’s not wrong, either. The release of specific Miles Davis albums, from Birth of the Cool to Kind of Blue to Bitches Brew, are viewed less as good moments in musical history and instead as defining moments in American culture. He is the most influential trumpeter and one of the most influential musicians to ever take to the stage, with a sound and style that would shape how America – and subsequently the world – viewed the production of sound.
His honest attitude towards himself and his music contributed to his success. He could critique himself to the extent that he could bring out the best in his music. He could also look at the music surrounding him to see what was missing and pick out what was wrong with the current musical landscape. That often led to him getting in trouble with some artists, but it also meant when we see the names of those he refers to as geniuses, we can take it at face value.
Davis had previously rubbed American composer Leonard Bernstein the wrong way when he refused to play anything from West Side Story, saying he thought it was “corny shit”. However, when he wrote to Bernstein on his 70th birthday, with decades to reflect on the music and see its impact on the world, he was willing to admit that Berstein was a genius. In doing so, he listed the five people who shaped American music, changing it for the better forever.
Davis dismissed his previous comments in his letter, confessing West Side Story “turned out to be a classic.” He also noted that Bernstein is one of the great geniuses of American Music. “You are one of America’s true geniuses, along with Monk, Gillespie, Mingus and Parker,” he said.
There is no doubt, looking back, that Davis’s comments on Bernstein are correct. He was one of the first composers whose music expanded outside of America, leading to him cementing himself as one of the greats with a plethora of accolades attached to his name. The same can be said about Thelonious Monk, who worked with Davis previously and had a unique improvisational style that broke barriers and showed musicians how limitless their sounds could be.
The other musicians Davis refers to are Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus and Charlie Parker. All of them were musicians who had worked well with Davis in the past and helped contribute towards the musical landscape that eventually enveloped American culture. There is no doubt that Miles Davis changed music about five or six times, as he professed during that White House dinner, and Bernstein, Monk, Gillespie, Mingus and Parker are four or five musicians who helped him change it.

6.03 you left a mark (alex/willie, rated t, 5.5k)
Alex doesn't believe in soulmates and he's terrified of losing his boyfriend Willie once he turns 21 and his soul mark appears. But when Willie's doesn't show up on his 21st birthday, Alex still isn't convinced that they'll be soulmates when he turns 21.
6.15 coping (alex/willie, luke/reggie, rated t,  82.3k)
When the boys disappear from the Orpheum stage, they don’t reappear in the garage. They think they’re crossing over, but then they wake up in the hospital back in 1995, alive.
6.20 we could be so good (carrie/luke, rated t, 4.3k)
Girl meets boy. What's the worst that could happen?
7.21 underneath (some calm exterior) (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 18.7k)
Chrissy’s been having dreams that are making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. She might be getting desperate in more ways than one.
7.31 met you at the right time (this is what it feels like) (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 13.3k)
The end of spring break means going back to the real world, but Eddie's gonna try and keep Chrissy all to himself for a little while longer.
8.09 both alike in dignity (chrissy/eddie, rated m, 24.3k)
The entire classroom erupts in groans and muttered curses as soon as the words leave the teacher's mouth: assigned pairs.
8.12 grwm: chrissy goes goth (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 4.7k)
Chrissy knows Eddie likes seeing her in his clothes, but she didn't think he'd like her makeover this much.
8.20 wish i were (eddie/steve, rated m, 25.4k)
They were alive, they'd made it. Eddie wouldn't have called them friends before that, not really, but the way Steve clung to him that night made Eddie rethink a lot of things he thought he knew about Steve Harrington.
8.24 that look in your eyes (you know i believe it) (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 11.7k)
Chrissy's dreams have always been vivid, good and bad, but her latest one is like nothing she's ever had before.
9.05 i can't always just forget her (but she could try) (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 21.8k)
Fate has a funny way of working things out.

9.16 you could have my heart (and i would break it for you) (bobby/luke, rated m, 5.3k)
In this dream, he could kiss Luke whenever he wanted. He would let Luke push him up against the wall wherever they were and make out like they did when they were just a couple of horny teenagers who didn't know any better. Bobby could let himself be loved by Luke. He could love Luke back wholeheartedly, unapologetically. But it's just a dream.
9.29 between comfort and chaos (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 16.1k)
As well as she thinks her first day teaching went, when Chrissy goes home to her studio apartment she finds herself wondering less about what her students thought of her and more about who the hell this Mr. Munson is that all the kids couldn't stop talking about.
10.16 just try your best (not to get hurt) (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 26.4k)
The problem with working with profilers is that nothing stays a secret for long. Not that Chrissy is keeping a secret in the first place, because she’s not. There’s nothing going on between her and Eddie Munson, no matter what anyone in the BAU says. They’re coworkers and friends. That’s it. Sure, they might flirt a little, but it’s all in good fun. or … a HellCheer Criminal Minds AU.
10.23 straight for the castle (chrissy/eddie, rated m, 2.1k)

10.31 for reasons wretched & divine (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 46.9k)
A collection of one shots set in the Between Comfort & Chaos universe for Kinktober.
11.03 a glimpse of us (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 3.7k)
Nobody knows what's going on between Eddie and Chrissy. It's supposed to be a secret and they both want it to stay that way, right?
11.06 throw me in the deep end (i'm ready now to swim) (chrissy/eddie), rated e, 4.5k)
"There's something you need to know," Chrissy says.
11.06 when i least expect it (chrissy/eddie, rated t, 2.9k)
Chrissy didn't really know what to expect when Max Mayfield marched up to her on Friday afternoon and invited her to sleep over the following night; she'd been so surprised that she stuttered out an okay before the offer had even really sunk in.
11.12 you set the bar above the moon (chrissy/eddie, rated g, 2.7k)
Now that the future doesn't feel so far / It doesn't seem as wrong to want what's ours / And after everything that's happened / I wanna put it in the past tense
11.16 breaking every rule (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 3.6k)
Eddie's trying very, very hard not to make a move on his student but Chrissy is not making it easy whatsoever.
11.23 the only thing i want (when one drop hits my mouth) (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 12.1k)
Over the years of their relationship, Eddie Munson has come to learn that Chrissy Cunningham has four, very distinct types of drunk. or, four times chrissy got drunk + one time eddie did.
11.26 stolen moments (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 4.7k)
There's only a few more weeks until graduation but neither Chrissy nor Eddie are particularly fond of waiting.
11.27 stick & poke (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 2.1k)
Chrissy wants a tattoo.
12.06 when will my life begin (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 20.3k)
Eddie's heart races with the excitement of the unknown; what could possibly be lurking behind these close knit trees? What secrets are just waiting to be uncovered? Maybe there's a whole world inside this forest that no outsider has seen in a hundred years or more.
12.12 head over heels in the moment (chrissy/eddie, rated g, 1.4k)
Mainstream media totally lied; a guy with a guitar in his hands isn't automatically some heartthrob that makes girls weak in their knees.
12.15 gimme what i want (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 6.4k)
Chrissy's done with finals, but there's still a few more days until graduation.
12.24 a man under cover (but you tore him apart) (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 3.8k)
It's Christmas at the BAU.
wips
10.30 i roll 'til i change my luck (eddie/steve, rated m, 25.9k)
It's not like Steve had plans for spring break - since he graduated it's not even spring break for him technically - but if he had, they definitely wouldn't have included getting roped into playing D&D at all, let alone with Eddie Munson.
12.09 i think you have a type (and it's not me) (chrissy/eddie, rated m, 9.4k)
Eddie tries to help Steve woo Chrissy, even though he's been in love with her since they were kids. or ... a HellCheer Cyrano de Bergerac AU.
12.18 hold me like you'll never let me go (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 7k)
Having the middle seat on a long flight is never easy, but having a handsome stranger next to you certainly makes it better.
12.20 if we don't leave this town (we might never make it out) (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 35.2k)
Chrissy finally finds the strength to leave a terrible situation, only for her getaway car to break down just over the Illinois border. Now she's stranded, as well as broke, and has to rely on the kindness of strangers. The mysterious mechanic who takes pity on her may look mean and scary with his wild hair, calloused hands, and grease stains, but Chrissy quickly discovers that underneath all of that, he may as well be a teddy bear.
12.22 love is just a currency (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 54.1k)
When she graduated high school, Chrissy Cunningham thought she knew how her life was going to turn out: college, marriage, the whole nine yards. But now it's five years later and nothing in her life went according to plan. Least of all running into Eddie Munson in a way she definitely never saw coming. or ... a HellCheer OnlyFans AU.
12.25 if the fates allow (chrissy/eddie, nancy/steve, rated e, 6.7k)
The best way to spend Christmas is 3000 miles away from home, right?
12.27 lost boys like me are free (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 5.5k)
Chrissy stows away on a pirate ship to reclaim the family heirlooms that Captain Eddie Munson stole from her, but she soon discovers that maybe going back home isn't what she wants at all.
12.29 gentlemen don't ask questions (chrissy/eddie, rated e, 6k)
The first time Eddie runs into Chrissy at a metal show, he thinks he must be seeing things.
total fics: 46
total number of words: 597,692 (posted on AO3, not counting the 23,429 words in this prompt fic)

Faithie’s Tag You’re It Corner:
Share the last line of your work in progress, then tag as many people as there are words in it.
Thanks for the tag: @nurse-buckley
Lord knows I don’t get tagged very often in anything. Anyway I currently have like 4 or 5 I’m working on so I’ve decided to share them all. 😂 sorry not sorry. And not all of them are done, but I’ll do the last line I have out of what I’ve worked on so far.
The first one is the last line of my Charlie Gillespie work that I’m working on called “Lightsabers and Guitars,” this one isn’t finished yet though:
“I think your guitar may be outta tune again. Good time to practice tuning it then,” he notes and I nod as I pull out the little turner I bought
The second one is the last line of my Peter Pevensie series called “Forever Yours,” that I am working on and this is the last line that I’ve added. Again it’s not finished yet, I’m still in the process of writing these:
Peter comes up next to me and takes my hand as Edmund runs to be just in front of us. Once he’s maybe a few feet in front of us he turns around and gives me a sweet smile before giving Peter a funny face. He turns back around before fully running into the tent and I giggle as Peter shakes his head.
The third one is from my Jason Scott series that I’m working on called “It’s Me and You Forever,” and again like all the others it’s not done yet…:
“Well are you coming or not?” She shouts and I shake my head before taking my running leap as well.
Then as a small bonus here’s one from the Joe Keery fic I am working on as well. It won’t be out for a while, but I got so excited to write this one that I started on it earlier then expected:

Charlie Gillespie, bisexual, male + he/him ― hey look, it’s William Leland! they’re 22 years old, they’ve lived in shrike heights for their whole life, and they’re currently working at Claire's. i heard they’re pretty childish, but i think they’re so kind hearted at the same time. can they make it out alive? || haley, 26, she/her, est + n/a.
William Leland is twenty-two years old and the manager at Claire’s. He is the “younger” twin of Harper Leland, entering the world about 35 minutes after his sister. He went to college and graduated with his associates but dropped out soon after as he wasn’t sure where else to go in his school career. He was still like a child wondering what he wanted to be when he got ‘older’. And, besides that, he was quite happy with his job as manager and working with his sister, it really couldn’t get much better than that. Although, working at Clarie’s would’ve been his last choice. Will is very into music and can play almost every instrument effortlessly. He had always wanted to work at Key of Reason, but since his sister wanted to work at Claire’s he decided to apply also, keeping instruments and making music something he does in his little spare time.

"Kenny has influenced us so much that we wanted to write something that pays homage to him." - Madison Reyes, on her and Charlie Gillespie writing Perfect Harmony. Link
I'm so sad because not only are we missing out on what JATP could've evolved into with more seasons, and getting more content and representation from such an amazing show, we're ALSO missing out on all that these talented young cast members could've become with more years to learn from and be mentored by Kenny Ortega.
Like, Madison and Charlie were so inspired by their FIRST year working with him, they literally WROTE a whole ass song. Imagine what they could've done with more years of working together. Almost all of the actors were at the starts of their careers. Madison was (is still) a TEENAGER. And they all pulled off amazing performances. They should've gotten so many more years to develop their skills and grow with the show.
Netflix robbed not only us, but them as well.

ART BLAKEY AND THE JAZZ MESSENGERS ‘IN MY PRIME’ (1977)
Art Blakey (1919–1990) actually needs little introduction, the American Jazz drummer and bandleader made a name for himself in the 1940s & 1950s playing with contemporaries such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker. He is often considered to have been Thelonious Monk's most empathetic drummer (he played on both Monk’s first recording session in 1947 and his final one in 1971). In the decades that followed Blakey recorded for all THE labels that mattered in the field of jazz (Columbia, Blue Note, Atlantic, RCA, Impulse!, Riverside, Prestige, Verve, etc.). His collaborations were numerous and include working with equally legendary artists such as Sonny Rollins, Max Roach, Chet Baker, John Coltrane….and countless others.
Art Blakey was a major figure and a pioneer for modern jazz, he assumed an aggressive swing drumming style early on in his career and is known as one of the inventors of the modern bebop style of drumming. His signature polyrhythmic style was amazing, exuding power and originality, creating a dark cymbal sound punctuated by frequent loud snare and bass drum accents in triplets or cross-rhythms. A loud and domineering drummer…but Blakey also listened and responded to the others in the band. He was an original, an important drummer you’d hear…and would recognize immediately.
Art Blakey was inducted into the Downbeat Jazz Hall of Fame (1981), the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame (1991), the Grammy Hall of Fame (1998 and 2001) and was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously in 2005. He was sampled and remixed by renowned acts such as Raekwon, Black Eyed Peas, A Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets, Buscemi, KRS-One and Madlib.
In the mid-1950s he and Horace Silver formed ‘The Jazz Messengers’: a group that Blakey would perform and record with for the next 35 years. Originally formed as a collective of contemporaries…but over the years the band became known as an incubator for young talent that included artists such as Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter, Cedar Walton, Chuck Mangione, John Hicks…and MANY others. Art Blakey went on to record dozens of albums with a constantly changing group of Jazz Messengers. Blakey's final performances were in July 1990. He died on October 16 of lung cancer. The legacy of Art Blakey and his band is not only the music they produced, but also the opportunities they provided for several generations of jazz musicians.
On the album we are presenting you today, you’ll find the eight sublime tracks recorded by renowned engineer Elvin Campbell at the CI Recording Studios (New York) in December 1977 that became known as the “In My Prime” sessions. These recordings were originally released on the legendary Dutch jazz label Timeless Records (and produced by its owner Wim Wigt) as two separate albums named Vol.1 & Vol.2.
As the leader of The Jazz Messengers (for over 22 years at the time of these recordings), drummer Art Blakey was still discovering new talent. In addition to altoist Bobby Watson (John Hicks, Charles Mingus), trumpeter Valery Ponomarev (Blue Note), bassist Dennis Irwin (Art Farmer), percussionist Ray Mantilla (Herbie Mann, Max Roach), Curtis Fuller (Quincy Jones, John Coltrane) on trombone and David Schnitter (Freddie Hubbard, Charles Earland) on tenor, this particular session also introduced the great pianist James Williams (Donald Byrd, Dizzy Gillespie) to the fold.
Despite the changes in musical fashions taking place at that particular period, Blakey and his hard-bop institution kept turning out new material and solos in the late 70s that still sound fresh, vibrant and alive today. The album showcases the Messengers’ energetic signature sound with remarkable style, musical knowledge, a dash of good humor and camaraderie you’d expect from a world class band and its leader. Expect supercharged hard bop with striking notes, no-holds-barred musicianship, high swinging solos, screaming choruses and plenty of solid virtuosity to spare. This release is not only a classic but also a bonafide hit and a must have for any self-respecting jazz fan or collector.
Tidal Waves Music now proudly presents the much-needed vinyl reissue of “Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers “In My Prime” which contains the complete NYC sessions recorded at the CI Recording Studios (New York) on December 29, 1977. Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane
Certain combinations of men have been leaving marks on music called jazz since its beginning. Some formed a lifetime association; others were together only for a brief period. Some actively shaped the course of jazz; others affected it more osmotically. All have had one thing in common; they produced music of lasting value.
One historic teaming was that of Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane at New York's Five Spot Cafe, beginning in the summer of 1957. Although the group remained together for only a half-year, those of us who heard it will never forget the experience. There were some weeks when I was at the Five Spot two and three times, staying most of the night even when I intended just to catch a set or two. The music was simultaneously kinetic and hypnotic. J.J. Johnson has compared it to the mid-Forties union of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. "Since Charlie Parker, the most electrifying sound that I've heard in contemporary jazz was Coltrane playing with Monk at the Five Spot... It was incredible, like Diz and Bird," Jay said.
Monk and Coltrane complemented each other perfectly. The results of this successful musical alliance were beneficial to both. In this setting, Monk began to receive the brunt of a long-overdue recognition. On the other hand, Coltrane's talent, set in such fertile environment, bloomed like a hibiscus. 'Trane's comments in a Down Beat article [September 29, 1960] clearly describe how he reveres Monk. "Working with Monk brought me close to a musical architect of the highest order. I felt I learned from him in every way through the senses, theoretically, technically. I would talk to Monk about musical problems and he would sit at the piano and show me the answers by playing them. I could watch him play and find out the things I wanted to know. Also, I could see a lot of things that I didn't know about at all," he stated.
Later in the piece, 'Trane added: "I think Monk is one of the true greats of all time. He's a real musical thinker- -there's not many like him. I feel myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him. If a guy needs a little spark, a boost, he can just be around Monk, and Monk will give it to him." Monk certainly brought 'Trane out beautifully. It was in this period that John began to experiment with what at the time I called "sheets of sound." Actually, he was thinking in groups of notes rather than one note at a time. Monk's practice of "laying out" allowed 'Trane to "stroll" against the pulse of bass and drums and really develop this playing attitude on his own. Pointed examples of this can be heard here in "Trinkle, Tinkle" and "Nutty."
Toward the latter part of '57, Ahmed Abdul-Malik took over Wilbur Ware's bass post. But in the three selections here, the original quartet is intact. Ware and Monk had played together on one of Thelonious's visits to Chicago, and when Wilbur migrated to New York he was Monk's choice for the group. I find no coincidence in Martin William's statement that Ware ... has something of the same basic interest in displacement of accents and rhythmic shiftings and in unusual sequence of harmonics that one hears in Thelonious Monk." Listen to Ware's solo on "Trinkle, Tinkle" for evidence.
Shadow Wilson was about two and a half months short of his 40th birthday when he died on July 11, 1959, and another of jazz's Coltrane (left), Monk tremendous talents had left the scene far too early. A great big-band drummer, Wilson had performed most notably with Count Basie and Woody Herman (the Herman band once voted for him en masse, when a replacement was needed for Dave Tough), but he was equally capable of ministering to the specific needs of a small group. His aware accenting of "Trinkle, Tinkle" shows how well he understood Monk's music and his nourishing beat, here and on "Nutty," is a rare combination of swing and taste. Don Schlittenk and Wilson on the bandstand at the Five Spot.
As we were to regret the passing of Shadow Wilson in 1959, many of us, in a different way, bemoaned the demise of that particular Monk quartet at the end of 1957. The fact that the group had presumably not been recorded was especially distressing. Now we have three gems to hold in our hands and enjoy, facet by facet. All are Monk compositions, and it is interesting to note that they were originally recorded in trio contexts by him: "Ruby, My Dear," which I once described as "sentiment without sentimentality," was first done around 1948, although it was probably written several years before. Coltrane states its tender beauty with a tone that helps transmit the sadness pervading the melody. Monk's half-chorus says more than most pianists do in a whole LP.
"Trinkle, Tinkle" originated in 1952. There is some fascinating interplay between piano and tenor in 'Trane's first improvised chorus. This is followed by some fantastic Coltrane in the "strolling" section. If you close your eyes, it is easy to imagine a cello or viola being bowed by a demonic force of vivid imagination. Thelonious rephrases his own melody in his inimitable manner before Ware's solo.
"Nutty," written in 1954, swings relaxed in an optimistic mood. Coltrane spins out his amazingly long-lined offerings, handing them together with shorter bursts and an overall personal sense of logic. Monk again divides and subdivides his own theme, paraphrasing from one of his earlier speeches, as it were.
To round out the album, three alternate masters from previously released Monk sessions are included. "Off Minor" and "Epistrophy" were heard on Monk's Music (Riverside RLP 242). It is stimulating to compare the different versions and how the solos vary and coincide from take to take. "Off Minor" has solos by Hawkins, Copeland, and Monk, but the bits by Ware and Blakey are not as developed as on the original issue. "Epistrophy," in the original version, featured all the horns of the septet and Monk. Here, only Coltrane and Copeland are heard in solo.
The first "Functional" is on Thelonious Himself (Riverside RLP 235). This version is as different in individual idea and, at the same time, close in spirit to the other, as two takes can be. It almost deserves a title of its own. I only wish I had two turntables. I think the two "Functional’s might make a wild duet for four Monk hands.
But, as intriguing as these alternate masters are, the main attraction here is the unearthing of the quartet tracks. These are milestones in jazz history and important to every serious listener.
Steve Lacy, the soprano saxophonist who worked with Monk for sixteen weeks in 1960, has said of Monk's music: "Monk has got his own poetry and you've got to get the fragrance of it."
It is obvious that in 1957, Coltrane was doing some deep breathing.

WELCOME BACK TO HAWKINS, DREW CAMPBELL (charlie gillespie fc)
good luck and have a bitchin’ summer!
[Charlie Gillespie, male, he/him] who’s that? oh it’s [Andrew ‘Drew’ Campbell]. i hear they’re [20] and are known as [the musician] around [Hawkins]. they’re also a [clerk] at [the record store]. They’re known to be [observant & independent] and [rebellious & reserved]. some people say they remind them of [the lingering smell of nicotine & marijuana ; a personalized mixtape ; leather jackets ; tuning an electric guitar ; & an old pickup truck]. [Brooke, 23, she/her, n/a, pst]
Andrew, who prefers to go by Drew, grew up moving around often. His father works for the military, so he’s lived in many different parts of the world throughout his lifetime. This meant that he never really got to stick around in one place to get fully comfortable and make friends, which led him to being more reserved and seemingly ‘anti-social’. He puts off a rough exterior at first, but he can actually be a real softie once you get him to open up.
Drew’s love for music came from his mother, who died when he was young. She was a beautiful singer and performed for different gigs on the weekends, and he still finds himself playing some of her records for musical inspiration. While he is a good singer too, his true passion is playing guitar. He loves rock music and the classics, but he enjoys almost all types of music. A big hobby of his is making mixtapes in his free time.
Drew and his father have nothing in common, and he hates living with him. He hopes to save up money to get his own place someday, but the question is where? Being freshly new to Hawkins, he hasn’t settled in long enough yet to decide if this is where he’d want to stay — he could go anywhere he wants to, after all. Moving around a lot has shaped Drew to feel open-minded, but also lost, when it comes to future plans.
Tension between him and his father really began when Drew first tried to come out to him. He was tired of hiding the truth, of feeling like he couldn’t be himself, but it didn’t end well. A huge argument broke out between them, and after that they didn’t talk for months. The only reason the silence was broken, Drew believes, is because it was time for them to move again. His dad called it “a fresh start,” and now seemingly pretends the conversation never happened. Drew feels like his dad is just avoiding the truth, and still barely talks to him now that they’ve moved to Hawkins. The conversation about his sexuality hasn’t been brought up since, and Drew has continued being on the down low about it, unsure of what the next step is.
Luckily, he quickly got a job at the record store, which makes it easy to get away from his dad while he works and builds up his savings. College was never for him since he never liked school anyway, and finding a school to stick with for four years sounded impossible. He’s also glad to be doing something related to music.
He initially didn’t have high hopes for Hawkins, but he has a feeling things will be different here. So far, he can tell it’s unlike any other place they’ve lived before.
