I lazed around in my pajamas all morning, which is when I took this selfie. Because heck it.

Today, I’ve been up to nothing but processing the fact that my ex-husband listens to Joe Rogan. He’s voting for Kennedy. He’s a Covid denier. I’m worried that he’s going down the alt-right pipeline. Jay is worried about him and came to me with all this.

Twin Bro said I have a lot of anxiety. He’s totally right. I have some valid stress and some irrational fears (not important). Now I just have to figure out what to do with that. Probably time to tighten the belt even more and go back to therapy.

I was tagged by @cerriddwenluna and I'm adding @forabeatofadrum for honours for consistently tagging me in things all year. Thank you, my loves!

It's wonderful to be part of a fandom that is still thriving after all this time. We've still got stories and art and a whole heap of silliness and it's been a great place to be a part of and I'm wrapping you all in a big hug unless you're not into that, in which case have an approving nod.

I'm taking the opportunity to write six sentences for a fic that has sort of been revolving in my brain like a rotisserie chicken. Kurt is a very work focused head of his own fashion brand and Blaine works for him. Undecided as to whether this is as an assistant or as an actual paid PR boyfriend for the optics (adding fake dating to the mix.).

Either way they both like each other but the power imbalance in their relationship makes it hard to act on. Especially for Kurt who won't do anything to damage his brand but also doesn't want to pressure Blaine ofc. Semi forbidden romance is so delicious to me. Especially with slightly older Kurt.

"You're probably my best friend and you're paid to spend time with me," Kurt admits. He buries his face in his hands so his next words come out muffled. "Fuck. Sorry. That's really... I mean. It's not your problem."

Blaine untangles him gently, moving Kurt's hands from his face so he can look at him. He waits until Kurt's eyes uncertainly meet his before he speaks. "No one is paying me to be here right now."

@socalledmixtapelife , who I don’t follow (yet? maybe I should see if we vibe?) asked everyone who “likes drinking slushies but doesn’t like living in one” for a selfie. That’s hilarious, so I selfied.

I just got back from taking Husband’s car to the dealership (it was towed, actually, I just did the talking with the service guy). Poor service guy was buried in cars and doing about 20 things at once.

Today’s task is cleaning the bedroom and changing the sheets. I have about an hour to finish that before I pick up Jay from school.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Always - though admittedly it takes me some time now. I deeply appreciate anyone taking time to make a comment on a story, so I think it's important to always say thank you, at the least.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Without question, it has to be The Unbearable Weight of Things Unsaid

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I don't know the answer to this...I think a majority of the time I try to write happy endings, with few exceptions, so I honestly have no idea how to answer. Everything but maybe three stories???

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I have, yes.

9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?

I do. What are the kinds of smut!?!? The smutty kind.

LOL. Yes, The Fall and Californication.

YES. The absolute worst feeling. And then to be asked to participate in a narrative that I pass myself off as the other person so they would not get caught. Horrible.

Yes. The best feeling!

Many years ago I used to participate in round robins for another fandom.

Mulder and Scully.

The WIP I'm working on right now has been testing my patience, but I'm determined that it will get finished, even if it takes me another two years. Aside fro that, I have no other WIPs.

Dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Description. The difference between lay, lie, laid, lied, lying and laying. I don't care how many times I have to look it up, which is every time I try to use one of those words, it doesn't make sense to me.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I appreciate it when it's authentic and there's a reason for it. I've done it before and sought out a native speaker to help me on it.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Lois & Clark

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Broken Things - I would really love to get myself back to that little world and write more for it. I always had an idea for a prequel of sorts, and it would be great if I could actually feel like I can write again.

hello! thank you for tagging me @forabeatofadrum! why did I think today was actually Wednesday, and not Thursday?? time isn't real. anyway, I am 94k words deep into Breaking Stereotypes, and I still have approximately 6 more chapters left to write. so here's a little snippet to tide you all over until I'm done.

Once Kurt was in the kitchen, Candice approached him. “I wanted to apologize to you,” she said, softly, as to not disturb the others. “For what?” “I think… I think I may have come off as a little aggressive earlier,” she said. “These guys…they’re not just my clients, they’re my family. I have been their manager since before they were signed; and I have known them even longer – since before I was hired at the management agency that I currently work for. And as a result, I get a little protective of them. I’m wary of anyone that they take an interest in. I’m not just looking out for the band – making sure this person isn’t trying to sabotage their careers somehow – but I’m looking out for them individually, as people – making sure they aren’t being used for money, fame, or career advancement. “I know Blaine is really taken with you – he is completely smitten – so I don’t want to see him get hurt. But after watching you with him and the others for the past few hours… I think I may have judged you too harshly. You appear to be as genuine as he says you are. I mean, if you’re already established at Vogue, and your best friend is a Tony Nominated Broadway Actress, chances are you aren’t trying to use his fame to help boost your design career.”
