Yall ever spend too much time thinking about a mutual's oc x canon ship

So, about that one AU that's been marinating in my mind for years

A considerable amount of makeup was used to cover Deeva's freckles and face marks, and Cater also had to use magic to make her clothes his size. They did this as a joke, but they sure were committed to it! 💪

AJDFKJFDJFGK I'll do my best to sum up the relationship between these two *cracks knuckles*

♦️ what relationship does your oc have with Cater?

They first met on their first day of class at NRC. Cater recognised Deeva from the Entrance Ceremony and decided to talk to her just because you never get to see a student like her every day… and ngl, also because he found her cute, but you know him, he said the same thing about Epel in his Robes PS hsghsds. They stuck together in class ever since because 1- after seeing Deeva was an A-student, he thought it would be convenient to have a reliable partner that could help him whenever he didn’t understand something; and 2- Deeva back then didn’t really talk to anyone, and guessed that was better than having nothing at all.

Eventually they became a little closer. Cater thought she was almost impossible to read (not in a bad way, it added to the fun) and really quiet, which sometimes left him with the impression that she was silently analysing him. Despite that, he learned that her stoic exterior hid a really gentle girl. As for Deeva, she indeed was silently analysing him and realized more than once that he was hiding something behind his words. To her, he was a very friendly human, and even though she didn’t understand half the things he was saying, she listened anyway cause she’s curious (<- sucked with technology and Cater had to give her Magicam 101 lessons lmao-).

Now, the fun begins midway through their 2nd year. What happens when 2 persons that never let people get too close to them realize they’ve fallen in love with someone? Exactly: ✨ Panic! ✨ At some point of the previous year Cater set to himself the goal to make Deeva smile, and when he successfully achieved that, the realization of his feelings hit him like a truck. Before that, he had his suspicions about him starting to like Deeva, but the fact of being unable to stop thinking about her smiling face was a solid confirmation. Deeva took longer to realize her own feelings for him, mainly because she didn’t feel something like that before, so she was super confused whenever she saw him and felt a warm sensation in her chest. Besides, neither of them had a clue that the other felt the exact same way. Cater because she never seemed to react to any of his flirty comments, and Deeva because she’s an absolute disaster at taking hints. Plus, this guy literally throws slightly flirty comments at everyone, how could she know?

Both of them felt that the best solution was to hide those feelings, act like they didn’t exist, and, unconsciously, to put a bit of distance between the two of them, hoping that by doing this those feelings would end up fading away. But they didn’t :) Let’s say they kinda gave up on that plan because it made them realize it hurt them to let the other one go, which eventually led to a confession.

They started going out a few months before the Halloween event. They act normal in front of others due to them being friends before becoming a couple, but some things don’t go unnoticed. Deeva is the discreet one as she prefers to be affectionate in private, but still her eyes show a special shine whenever she’s talking to Cater. And him….. listen, he’s too in love but he tries. He doesn’t want to make Deeva uncomfortable so he also tends to be more affectionate in private, but sometimes it looks like he’s trying to find any excuse to touch her hand, and if they are sitting close in public, it’s quite probable they have their pinkies interlocked.

In short, they are just two lonely people learning to let themselves to be loved („˘ ⌣ ˘„)
