curious about 31, 40, and 42 for marina and caryalind!!
Ooooo thank you! The two elf derps it is! <3
Tumblr media
Oooo interesting!
Marina is very fond of calling Caryalind "her prince". She thinks it's cute, and separates him from the Thalmor and everything he ran away from. She still thinks he's a little snooty, and she pokes fun in a light-hearted way by calling him that. She'd describe him as charming, funny, mildly annoying at times, and a sweetheart.
Caryalind... I'm not sure. His in game lines would say that he views her as strong, brave, kind, all traits that Marina has, but on a more personal level, I think he'd see her a sweet, innocent, and bubbly as well.
Tumblr media
I honestly do not have one lol. I have a couple songs for a couple other OC relationships I have, but none have caught my ear and made me think of these two, honestly.
Tumblr media
Kind of like I said earlier, Marina, being the forester who's used to roughing it, really like to tease Cary about how stuffed up and snootful he can be at times. Marina definitely teases Caryalind more than he teases her. If he does though, usually it's just him tugging on her antlers a bit when she gets on his nerves, mostly because he knows they're ticklish.
Ehehe thank you so much for the ask! I wish I had longer answers lol, I'm sorry. <333

Idk if any other followers have them but Remi and Xel both have the option to let them bunk with you if you own a place. What if we could on the same with Secunda? Just an idea!! The "My Home is Your Home" mod exists for that reason :D
Also I saw that ask about other followers, what about Lucien, Inigo, Gore and Caryalind? (Sorry if that's a lot :/ I'm most curious Abt Cary tho)
Definitely gonna add it for the next update!
As for the other followers…
Lucien: Study buddies! I could see them napping at the dinner table after a long study sesh about magic and debating topics of history and magical theory. Secunda isn’t formally studied in anything but she does enjoy a good conversation!
Inigo: She would be understandably cautious of him at first I think. Wanting to be as careful as possible because to her, he sounds absolutely insane. Once you find out he’s not a crazy cat I’d say they would be good friends! Pranking and making jokes with each other. Inigo would squash spiders for Secunda.
Gore: although they are far from similar in terms of background. I could see them almost leaning on the other. They are in a kind of similar scenario. Being away from what you have known all your life, not knowing what to do or how to proceed. There is comfort in knowing you are not alone in your struggles.
Caryalind: A prince and Princess! They would lavish over how much they miss their palaces. They would sip wine together and pout about missing a feather pillow. Similar but also different to Gore, they relate. In the struggle of a family life that is hectic, a father figure that is rampant, and the difficult decision to take your own life by the reins. They would be there for each other the most I’d say. I could see the pair staying particularly close to one another.

As I build up my NPC party on Skyrim, I'm beginning to realize that I have maybe subconsciously attempted to re-create Quenthel's party from War of the Spider Queen but with less reckless murder and like 3 different altmer boys who could easily be considered Pharaun.

Cons of redeeming miraak:
-hard, requires effort and thought
-uncomfy
-don’t know enough about him to get specific- see con 1
-he’s kind of a dick
-he’s an actual threat
-Perlas has enough to deal with managing two factions and five kids
Pros:
-It gives me the idea juice

what would a talk between Tally boy and Carylind look like?
The reason I haven't answered this right away because you've unleashed some crazy ideas. On paper, these two are complete opposites of each other, but are cut from the same cloth. And that's why I love the idea; two sides of the same coin. Inexperienced vs Experienced. Day and Night.
I can see them not hitting it off well, or even fighting a few times with words.
Caryalind: Are you here to take me back to the Thalmor then? Did father send you?
Taliesin: Trust me, if that were the case, we'd be halfway back to the embassy with you slung over my shoulder and a gag stuffed in your mouth.
Caryalind: (nervous laugh) Oh, I see...lucky me then.
Taliesin: Relax, your highness. You're safe with me. I don't bite. Much.
Taliesin won't hesitate being a jerk, especially when it comes to Caryalind's inexperience.
Caryalind: You know, Taliesin, I'm very proficient with daggers myself. Self-taught, of course-
Taliesin: (bluntly) I know, it shows.
Politics would get in the way. Especially with their views on the Thalmor.
Caryalind: If you think I'm an idiot, then feel free to say so.
Taliesin: You're an idiot.
Caryalind: ...you didn't even hesitate there.
But I can also see Caryalind bringing out some old habits from Taliesin, mostly when he was charged with the duty of protecting his Justiciar. Especially when it comes to battle or walking through Nord dominated cities.
Taliesin: Get behind me, your highness!
Caryalind: And miss out on the fun? Not a chance!
Caryalind is the future for the Altmeri Dominion and Taliesin loves his country and his people, he will take an arrow for Caryalind.

I think my current team of followers in Skyrim is probably the strangest one I've had yet because I decided to just commit fully to the idea of downloading all or at least most of the newer Altmer follower mods, so currently we're sitting at 5 Altmer dudes, 1 Dunmer lady (my character), and a leopard we rescued from the jackass Jarl in Falkreath.

I have nearly achieved my goal of creating my own version of the WotSQ party in this game, with the realization -- which came to me only after mowing down all of the Markarth guards -- that my character is both the Quenthel and Jeggred of the party.

in love with the idea of the db's followers being as remembered in history as the db themself. imagine:
engineers, for generations, mumbling the formula called 'Remiel's Constant' under their breaths as they develop machinery, because it's such a foundational discovery on Remiel's part for a new age of engineering
in contrast, future alchemists agonizing over Xelzaz' thousands of alchemical discoveries a night before their finals, bemoaning why he was so diligent in cranking out formula after formula because now they have so much to memorize
historians and casual history buffs alike locked in discourse on whether or not the last prince of the Thalmor actually colluded with the Dragonborn in the Second Great War to help bring down the Dominion, with vaguely-worded correspondence for evidence
adaptations of the tale where every single follower is at least someone's 'blorbo'
the ballad of Inigo the Brave being a cultural touchstone for Khajiit rep and spawning Tamriel's version of the rogue, underdog hero archetype. even when it's a totally fictional work, if the protagonist (or charming side character) is weirdly charismatic, roguishly handsome, and with a heart of gold, chances are the creator was inspired by Inigo's legacy.
the massive misunderstandings of the dragonborn's original history. Thanks to anti-Thalmor sentiments long after the Second Great War, Nebarra was deemed as a traitor figure to the Dragonborn, but this sentiment was overturned centuries after uncovering contemporaries' journal entries on their friendship
when you ask someone who they think Sir Kaidan was to the dragonborn, there's an equal chance of them firmly believing he was their lover, platonic best friend, or loyal but professional lieutenant. they will have reams of evidence to back it up, no matter which stance they take.
many who have felt that they never perfectly fit into the demands of their faith or community, not just bosmer, resonating with Auri's story. realizing that while they may be an outlier in their own eyes, they can still do a lot of good in the world, and that has to count for something.
common sayings based on (real or not) stories of the followers. if a place is crowded, it's common to joke, "guess the dragonborn's in town."
just. yeah.
