I'm dealing with Mighty Nein nostalgia and I just want to say:

I don't think Caleb Widogast would ever willingly choose to conceive and raise a child; I could totally see him as someone who accidentally adopts a kid. A lab-grown test subject they find in Ikithon's tower. A student disowned by their parents after they start anamnesis. A sleeping child preserved in a glass casket in Aeorian ruins. He'd take them in ostensibly out of academic interest and only until someone more qualified can take care of them until it turns out that the person most qualified is. Him. Verdammt.

Forever feeling soft about the fact that Molly found love and joy after feeling so broken and empty. The way he can't help but reach out to other lost, lonely souls. Caleb's quiet, despondent, "I broke a bit." Molly telling Lucien,"We love broken things the most." The way Caleb feels like, "softness and light" to him.
