I want to try you house out of the sheer curiosity of seeing it on so many people’s art fight bios and I want to SEE!!!! but I think u gotta get codes from real human beings (who pay to use the site I think?? Headcannon that with Watcher powers, Grian is able to make anyone think he is staring unnervingly at them when he’s actually looking somewhere else, which he uses in business meetings to play Pesky Bird on his phone while making his boss uncomfortable

#Winter’s Orbit #aroaessidhe 2023 reads #i enjoyed this a lot!#it’s not 100% for me and I think maybe it relied a little too much fanfic romance tropes at points but like. that’s not inherently bad #there were some things that i wanted more of like. jainan’s relationship with his sister?#we see them about to talk for the first time in 2 years but then don’t actually….see that talk?#or anything else between them til the end of the book. i was like hold on I get not seeing That scene but surely she's gonna come up again #asfkadjfh theres a survival bit in the middle which im like. survival 101 stay where you are!!!!! oh my god unfamiliar snowy landscape coul #be SO dangerous. if there’s a storm. whiteout!! also dangerous wildlife apparently???#the book does raise this and have valid counter arguments as far as the worldbuilding goes #(they’re in a blank spot of cell service which is rare so hard to find them) but akjdhsgkjsf i can’t help but be like. noo.....#but also space opera setting that’s on a very wintery planet - i feel like is not that common! i like that #definitely has a hefty amount of miscommunication but like….it’s the kind that’s because the characters come from such different #emotional contexts rather than silly reasons. i don’t mind that tbh. though they maybe could have talked about things a bit earlier

It’s inherently funny to me that Crosshair and Delana elope (random thought I know, I’ve talked about it briefly before but I have more thoughts. Sorry, it’s not Soft Sniper Sunday but I’m always thinking about these two).

There’s literally no epic fanfare or dramatic climax (lol), it’s merely suggested in passing.

Of course there’s deep-rooted feelings to back it up; he’s in love with her and she’s in love with him, there’s a mutual, unspoken desire to spend the remainder of life with each other, but Crosshair is the one to suggest it, one quiet morning over breakfast.

Yes, Crosshair is the one who initiates.

Delana hides her surprise behind the rim of her mug. She takes a measured sip and lets the morning caf bring some clarity to his sudden advance. Not unanticipated. Just sudden.

Delana gives Crosshair a measured look. He’s dead serious, his caf totally abandoned in favor of eyeing her intently as he awaits her response. No doubt his fragile ego banking heavily on her assent.

The corner of her lip twitches. “Are you proposing?”

“I’m saying. Let’s get married.”

“Today?”

Crosshair shrugs. “Why not.”
