"London (England) - Calcutta (India) - London (England)"
This bus service from London to Calcutta (Kolkata) is considered to have been the longest bus route in the world.
The service, which was started in 1957 and operated by Albert Travel, was routed to India continuing after the UK, to Belgium, through Europe via (then) Yugoslavia, Türkiye, Iran, Afghanistan, and West Pakistan.
After entering India, it eventually reached Calcutta via New Delhi, Agra, Allahabad (Prayagraj) and Banaras (Varanasi).
This route became known as the 'Hippie Route.'
It took about 50 days for the bus to reach Calcutta from London.
The voyage was 32,669 km long and was in service until 1976.
By then, the cost of the trip was £145, including food, travel and accommodation.
The bus was equipped with reading facilities, separate sleeping bunks for everyone, and fan-operated heaters.
There was a kitchen with all equipment and amenities.
There was a forward observation lounge on the upper deck of the later version of the bus.
The bus provided radio and music system for parties. It had time to spend at major tourist destinations along the way, including Banaras and the Taj Mahal on the banks of the Ganges.
Shopping breaks were organized in Salzburg, Vienna, Istanbul, Kabul and Tehran.

so the thing about my schedule in the morning to get to school is that i thought the bus ride was fourth minutes when it’s only like 20-30 depending on traffic which hasn’t been that bad so far. this means that although i sat around for ten minutes waiting for my phone to charge more i am still 15 minutes early to when i want to be at school.
i’m moving my alarms forward at least ten minutes

so sometimes on public transport people will come on and say “prove u paid bitch” and you have to show the card and they scan it and they scold you for not paying (unless you paid) HOWEVER. as a minor, i ride free. so whenever this happens i just really want them to assume that i am in fact a minor so i don’t have to explain “uhm actually minors ride free and im a minor sooooo” and this time i didnt have to explain myself.

Post-RCM Kim (steals but no one is there to tell him No) keeps the kineema and runs a taxi service out of it. Feedback is mixed. You will always get where you want to go To The Second but will be subjected to the craziest Italian-on-crack-style roadrage driving imaginable. You will see god whether you’re religious or not. Kim is always polite and is basically silent the entire time. Some love him, swear by his skill, and rely on him when they’re running late. Some will vomit in the provided vomit-bag Kim keeps in the back seats and never call for his service again. Joyriding incidents decrease bc the local teens just get this one taxi guy to take them home from their party as fast as possible. And believe me when I say. As. Fast. As. Possible.
