Took me some time to do this one, both because I have been busy, and because this is like my least favourite season in all of Ben 10, haha. So it took me some time to think of how I would write this arc, and have it make sense. So I hope I did this arc some justice and you all enjoy my ideas for it. And thank you all for the support! 💚

-Vilgax’s Return-
A good chunk of the galaxy is now recovering from the aftermath of the Highbreed war, and while Ben and the Alien Force crew managed to defeat the Highbreed without the war going too far, there was still a lot of damage done that requires time to heal.
Ben feels good about himself, having proven he can be a leader, got himself an ally in Reiny, and mastered the new rebooted version of his watch. He does, admittedly, get a little too confident with himself, to the point where he argues with Azmuth that maybe it's time he has Master Control. Not helped by half the galaxy praising him every second he's around.
However, his new fame catches the unwanted attention of Vilgax, who has been spending his years going back to conquering more planets, and getting stronger. Originally to fight Ben again one day, but moved on from that sometime after Ben stopped using the watch. However, upon hearing of Ben's actions in the war, he decides it's time to try and finally win a fight against Ben again.
Unlike most places in the galaxy, Vilgax and his land were untouched by the Highbreed, as Reiny later reveals they were going to deal with him and his land after the war.
Because the Plumbers are stretched thin across the galaxy, and with earth being considered a lower priority, Vilgax is able to storm his way onto earth and challenge Ben to a fight, that need to win getting to him again.
Max gets the Alien Force crew together, mostly Ben, Gwen, Kevin and the Plumber kids, to figure out a plan. Max is very well aware that they are not equipped to fight Vilgax at this moment, but Ben is convinced he can beat his old foe, especially if he had master control. Not quite realising how strong Vilgax has gotten over the years.
When Max disagrees, and Azmuth again says no over a call, Kevin decides to pitch in and try and hack the watch for Ben, agreeing that they should be allowed to have all the fighting power they need. Gwen disagrees, but doesn't stop them.
Sadly, this breaks the watch, causing Ben to keep switching between his aliens randomly without control, similar to one of his previous fights with Vilgax. Along with Kevin being mutated with random material parts. Ben knows he can't fight Vilgax this way and has to call Azmuth for help, who is absolutely furious with Ben, but agrees to come and help fix the watch.
Unfortunately, Vilgax has set up a barrier system that blocks out Azmuth's teleporting system, meaning they'll have to find and break it first, without Vilgax seeing Ben and starting the fight.
With the help of Max and the Plumber kids, they find all devices across Bellwood that are causing this barrier, at one point having to fight Psyphon, SixSix, SevenSeven & EightEight. And Ben narrowly keeps missing Vilgax.
Azmuth manages to make it and arrives to fix the watch. But as he does so, he and Ben have a heated argument, Azmuth even threatening to take the watch after Ben fights Vilgax, but is convinced not to. Though the trust between them is clearly broken, Ben feels guilty about it.
Now feeling like he has to prove himself even more, Ben denies help from the Alien Force crew, planning to challenge Vilgax alone.
Vilgax, however, is not planning to play fair. At the start of the fight it's just a one-on-one battle, but Vilgax starts using new or even cheap tactics, including having Psyphon, SixSix, SevenSeven & EightEight on the side lands causing distractions and damage, throwing Ben off.
However, as Vilgax gets the upper hand, the others step in, including people like Max, Xylene and Julie with Ship. They convince Ben to let them help, which he finally agrees to. Together they start pushing Vilgax back, but even it's not enough just yet.
Ben ends up making the wrong move when he switches to Diamondhead, something Vilgax could combat, and he shatters the alien. For a moment, everyone thinks he's won, when Chromastone appears underneath the Diamondhead layer, confusing almost everyone, though Vilgax seems to recognise this form.
Chromastone and Vilgax fight, with Chromastone getting the upper hand as Vilgax has never fought this form before. But there is something strange going on with Ben, as he speaks no words and moves in a manner that makes it feel like he's not entirely in control. But by the time he beats Vilgax, he seems to have returned to his regular self.
Defeated once again, Vilgax has no choice but to retreat, but that sense of pride and not wanting to lose to Ben again causes Vilgax to start making more plans. He leaves with his followers, and the Alien Force crew celebrate their winnings.
After learning Azmuth is already gone, Ben feels too guilty to call him and apologise. He also later admits to Gwen, Kevin and Julie that something felt off about Chromastone, but it felt familiar, though he doesn't know what.
After a couple of days of silence, Ben starts getting calls to help around the galaxy, people coming to him for help. He takes on these jobs happily, but the amount he takes on gets exhausting, especially since he feels like he has to fix everyone's problems, though he fails to do so a few times.
However, things get more complicated when Ben learns that Vilgax is again up to something. Turns out Vilgax is not only using all his planets to build an army, but he also seeks out more allies and potent tools to use against Ben, planning to strike down on earth.
Ben contacts the Magistrata who watches over the sector with earth in it, Emera, for help. She offers the Plumber support she can give, but admits there is very little they can do to help at this moment. Many other planets and even other sectors that need their help. She suggests that he try and make his own allies to help him.
He first goes to the Highbreed, asking Reiny for help, but Reiny admits that it might be better if they sit back because no one in the galaxy trusts them at this moment, and their appearance might make things worse. Ben also thinks about asking Azmuth and the galvans for help, but he knows they are also recovering from the war, and thinks Azmuth might not listen to him.
A few things happen on earth as well that cause some unwanted problems, like Charmcaster & Hex returning, the Knights scaring people regarding the topic of aliens due to the invasion, and some people trying to take advantage of the situation earth is in.
It also doesn't help that both Kevin and Gwen are struggling with a lot as well. Kevin dealing with his mutation problem, and Gwen questioning what she wants to be and things about her anodite heritage. At the very least, the Plumber kids and Julie are backing up Ben quite a bit.
Ben has also been avoiding using Chromastone after a while, his control over the form feeling weird, along with getting strange dreams connected to Chromastone, all of which feel too similar to the ghostfreak situation.
However, things briefly take a turn during this race between Ben and Vilgax when Vilgax tries making allies with the wrong person, Zs'skayr. He sets the ectonurite lord free, having learnt of Ben's fears of him, and hoping he can team up with the Anur System. Sadly for him, Zs'skayr takes control of the situation by possessing Vilgax, and using the new body to take over Vilgax's homeworld.
A member of Vilgaxia manages to flee and run to Ben for help. At first, Ben does not want to, but he quickly changes his mind when understanding that Vilgax's people are not the same as him, even if he is hesitant about this whole situation.
They sneak in with the member that called for help, eventually confronting Zs'skayr in Vilgax's body. But with the combined power of the two foes, with no backup with them, Ben knows he can't outfight Zs'skayr. So Ben comes up with a dangerous plan that involves letting Zs'skayr possess him, but tricks him as now Gwen and Kevin threaten to burn him with light, Ben managing to hold him in place and tells him the only way to save himself is to go back into the watch, something Zs'skayr eventually agrees to.
Despite having watched the whole thing, Vilgax still threatens Ben, almost having his guards attack them, much to Ben's annoyance. Especially when seeing his people still willing to follow Vilgax after all of this. So the group escapes, while Vilgax makes more plans.
In fact, one of his next plans even gets the attention of Azmuth, learning that Vilgax is on Xenon, looking for something. Requiring help, he begrudgingly brings Ben, Kevin and Gwen with him back to Xenon, where they learn Vilgax is after the device Azmuth made that absorbs all the light in the vicinity, which he admittedly left behind all those years ago.
Since they're now speaking face to face again, Ben and Azmuth have an awkward time trying to communicate, especially since they are back at the location they first met. There are some breakthroughs between them, but neither push to say what is truly needed.
However, the environment and Vilgax catch them off guard, and he manages to snatch up the first thinker and run off with him. Kevin and Gwen convince Ben to follow after, while they stay behind and deal with the other things attacking them.
Ben confronts Vilgax, who is threatening Azmuth, and manages to save his mentor, but the two enemies have to leave it as a stalemate to the hostile environment. But Ben does manage to break the device Vilgax was looking over, running off with the crew.
After that event, Ben finds that there is something wrong with him and the watch, eventually found to be Zs'skayr, who is trying to corrupt the omnitrix from the inside. Ultimately leading to the point where Ben has to let him free, or risk being permanently possessed. And Zs'skayr uses the opportunity to flee.
Given all that's been happening, Ben finds himself being run dry, realising that making being the known hero of the galaxy isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Gwen and Kevin are also struggling a lot, Kevin even running into his dad's killer, or Gwen learning more about anodites when finding her cousin Sunny is one.
Then one day, Tetrax suddenly shows up after all these years, demanding Ben turn into Chromastone. He reveals that he saw in the media somewhere Ben turning into Chromastone, and that caused him to steal back the red crystal he gave to Vilgax years ago. When Chromastone takes the crystal, Ben is separated from him and learns that there was indeed another conscious in him, being Sugilite. Though, unlike the last situation with Zs'skayr, they find Sugilite is a kind being.
On the way to where Petropia used to be, Tetrax explains the backstory behind Sugilite, including how he is their ruler, and might be able to bring his people back. Vilgax, however, is very much keen for this not to happen, and races after them.
Ben finds he can still become Chromastone and ends up joining Sugilite's side in repairing the world. When Vilgax and some of his men arrive, the Plumber kids, Kevin and Gwen, have to keep him at bay, as Ben is unable to join, Sugilite telling him to have faith in his team.
Thankfully, before Vilgax can finally reach them, Petropia and its people are revived and are enough to scare off Vilgax. Sugilite explains what happened to his people, and while most reject Tetrax and his apology, Sugilite openly forgives him. Tetrax decides to stay, despite the hostile looks at him, in order to make it up to his people.
Ben and the crew return to some more missions, and try to find allies, but what they can get doesn't seem like enough. And everything finally comes to a head when Vilgax seeks out one more ally.
He manages to locate Albedo, who had recently stolen from Azmuth an omnitrix core, using it to make the ultimatrix. A device he wants to prove is better than the omnitrix, and he solely designed it as a tool of destruction and war. Vilgax manages to convince Albedo to team up with him, playing into the young galvan's need to feel right.
With everything he needs, Vilgax attacks earth with his new forces and equipment, breaking through the Plumber's defence that they had. Albedo is sent to find Ben, and convinces him to come out and fight, revealing his ultimate forms.
The two tussle for a good while before backup arrives, helping Ben. But Vilgax finally arrives, and swarms Ben's forces, learning from last time. It eventually reaches the point where he threatens to kill people like Gwen, Max and Kevin if Ben doesn't surrender the watch and himself.
Feeling backed into a corner and knowing Vilgax is serious, he ends up handing over the Omnitrix. But his friends give him an opening to escape, and Julie and Ship manage to grab Ben and run.
Vilgax finds that he is unable to put on the watch, due to its DNA signature lock system, and demands his forces find Ben. He then turns his attention to Albedo, who actually denies helping Vilgax figure out the watch, stating that he's not here for that, feeling confident that Vilgax can't do anything to him. Unfortunately, that's enough for Vilgax to backstab him and find a way to take down Albedo and the ultimatrix, much to Albedo's frustration and anger at himself.
Once somewhere safe, Julie tries talking with Ben, who is entirely stressed out, feeling like he's failed, and not knowing what to do. Julie reassures him, knowing Ben can think of something, but eventually walks off with Ship to give him space. Alone, Ben finally calls for Azmuth's help, knowing he needs his mentor's help. Azmuth does appear, giving a talk with Ben, but eventually helps him with a plan to at least deal with Vilgax having the omnitrix.
Ben pretends to surrender himself over, being brought to Vilgax, who demands Ben put the watch on him. But Ben uses this moment to self-destruct the omnitrix, meaning neither of them can have it. Before Vilgax can retaliate, Azmuth reveals he brought in some forces from Galvan Prime to help, distracting Vilgax long enough for Julie and Ship to free the others.
Ben confronts and frees Albedo, demanding the ultimatrix. At first, Albedo seems keen not to listen, but his wounded pride and Vilgax's taunts get to him, eventually giving Ben the new watch before sneaking off while no one is looking.
As Ben and Vilgax throw down, Ben uses the new ultimatrix feature, becoming ultimate Swampfire to fight Vilgax. But as they fight, Ben worries that Vilgax's forces will still be too much to deal with, when more backup arrives as a surprise.
People like the Highbreed or Sugilite and his men come to help, all of them realising how much they owe Ben, and know it's not fair to leave him hanging after all he's done for them. Meaning Ben can put all his focus solely on Vilgax.
The two have a brutal fight, but with the use of an ultimate alien, Ben is able to win in the end. Though it takes one of Vilgax's people to convince him to throw in the towel and just leave. But he vows to Ben he will keep coming back time and time again until he wins, clearly regressing to the person he became in the original series.
Vilgax and his forces eventually leave, and Ben thanks everyone who came to help, the Plumbers even extending some uniting ideas with people like the Highbreed and Petropia.
Ben finds Azmuth, who had been trying to find Albedo, and the two talk. Ben fully and properly apologises for what happened, and Azmuth forgives him and even apologises for some of the ways he's behaved. They talk about the ultimatrix, Azmuth admitting that he was working on a new, upgraded form of the watch, but since it's not ready, he has to work with Albedo's creation for the time being.
Kevin finds he has returned to normal after the omnitrix was destroyed, restoring some confidence back into him. And Gwen allows herself a moment to reflect on who she wants to be, regardless of her human or anodite sides.
Impressed by the Plumber kids' work, Max manages to get them more missions outside of Ben's stuff, encouraging them to start becoming their own thing.
And Vilgax licks his wounds, already vowing for his revenge once again.

What do you believe would happen if Ben were to get a DNA sample from an alien that had an illness or mutation of some kind?
The illness part would highly depend if it's actually genetic or not. If it was just the common cold, then the Omnitrix is smart enough to not include that. But if it is a genetic illness, that's hard to say, as I imagine the Omnitrix would be able to pick up on the signs that it may be harmful, perhaps changing the genetic code to try and fix it, or not let Ben use that alien unless he grabs another sample to help fix it. A mutation is a little harder to guess, especially if it's not a harmful mutation. He'd most likely just carry that trait over to him, though the watch might update itself if it gets another sample.

What is Rooters Ben's relationship with his fellow Rooters and what will be the dynamic between his alternate counterparts?
I've adjusted the members of the Rooters, though for this question I imagine you're more focused on Servantis, Kevin and the general vibe of the whole squad. Rooter Ben and Servantis have a sort of student and mentor dynamic going on, as Servantis would want to make sure Ben doesn't going off the deep end when wielding the watch. Because of this, this version of the Rooters' leader wouldn't have any plans or needs to kill Ben, instead making sure Ben falls in line and does his job. Kevin and him are co-workers and often make great partners on the field. They also hang out a lot together in their spare time, since they are the only teenagers working in the Rooters. They enjoy banter and some dark humor between the two, given their line of work focuses on a lot of things hidden in the shadows. In general this version of Ben fits really well into the Rooters, understanding why they are needed, and taking his job very seriously. He does still have some Ben in him though that allows him to be the voice of reason, and making calls when he thinks things might be going too far, even for them. In terms of his dynamic with his counterparts in the big event against Eon, many of them don't really know how to approach Rooter Ben. He's still on their side, and clearly not a villain, but his methods are harsh, cruel and he can be hard to speak with on a personal level. He's the one that would suggest killing the targets as fast as they can, the one who doesn't think mercy should be on the table. But he's not without reason, and he does what he does for the sake of innocent people. So while the others might not exactly get along with him, he is the one that can say what's needed to be said.

Apologizes once again that this took so long. Alien Swarm is a bit of a strange one to work with, and I was trying to figuring out what to keep, what to change, how how to fit it into the series. I decided to have this take place between Alien Force, and Ultimate Alien, as that just worked best for me. I’ve also been working on a few other things, and quite tired recently, lol. So It’s hard to keep up with everything. But, here the rewrite arc is! And I’ll be putting up voting soon for the next one. As always, feel free to ask questions, and let me know what you think! I really do hope people are enjoying my take on Ben 10 and the arcs I’ve rewritten so far!

-Elena’s History-
Elena’s mother died when she was rather young, at the age of four. Her father, Victor Valadis, did his best to both raise his daughter, and work his job at the Plumbers as a scientist/researcher. Because of her father working a lot, Elena became rather independent while growing up, and as she got older started putting in hard work herself to help her and her father.
Around 13-14 years old, she started to work under her father and became his apprentice for the plumbers. Thankfully, because of the omnitrix, Ben and villains like Vilgax’s events on earth during that one summer, earth has been making official full fledge plumber bases. This meant that not only could Victor finally work closer to home, but so could Elena.
However, because of how hard her father worked during her childhood, no mother figure in her life, and becoming independent and pull so much of her own weight as a kid, Elena deep down is depressed and unsure with her life. She hasn’t really put herself first, and didn’t get to do a lot of things that she could of as a child. Her dreams, desires and wishes nothing more than a thought in the back of her head. Her even becoming a Plumber was more so for her father, to help him and ease his own work, and because it made him happy to see his daughter following in his footsteps. And while Elena never said anything, deep down she’s not happy with her life.
During the Highbreed war, when she’s around 15-16 years old now, she finally meets Ben Tennyson. Working with the Plumbers to figure out the Highbreeds’ plans, Ben noticed Elena during her work hours, catching his attention when seeing a human teen like him working for the Plumbers. Bridging a connection, Ben started to chat with Elena, and while she was unsure at first, she slowly opened up to Ben, eventually meeting Kevin, Gwen and the whole Plumber squad.
During the Highbreed arc, Elena helps the gang out from the sidelines, though isn’t an official member of the alien force squad. She provides them research and knowledge on things they request help from her, and she’s happy to help, especially since them being around makes her a little less lonely.
She starts getting particularly close with Ben, who hangs out with her the most, helping her unwind and feel like a normal teenager finally. However, because of this, and her lack of socializing she’s had for years, she starts to develop a sort of crush on Ben. But it’s hard to tell if this is because she genuinely loves him, or loves the fact that he was the first person to make her feel young, free and alive for once. Because of her conflicting feelings, and knowing Ben has a girlfriend that he’s mentioned, she keeps it to herself.
She does still stay friends with him, and the others, helping out with both the Highbreed stuff, and eventually the return of Vilgax. But despite her trust in them, and her father doing his best to make it clear he wants her to be happy, she still hides a lot of her true feelings. Thinking it will eventually go away.
-Alien Swarm Movie-
After the Vilgax Return Arc is over, Ben is now left with a new watch, the ultimatrix, and is spending some time testing it out. The Plumber Kids are also now off world for a while, being sent by Max to do some more specialised training elsewhere.
Meanwhile, across the galaxy, some Plumbers are checking out a plant that they received an S.O.S from a few days ago, but when they arrive the inhabitants seem to be fine, though acting a little off, urging the Plumbers to leave rather quickly. Unknown to them, the planet has already been infested with the nanochips, controlling everyone, though whoever is pulling the strings is unknown.
Not seeing anything wrong though, the Plumber squad leaves, not realising a nanochip queen is planted on them. Though it doesn’t activate right away, seeming to wait until they reach a new planet.
This Plumber squad is sent to earth afterwards, as they’ve been wanting to tighten the security of the planet a little more after both the Highbreed and Vilgax tried invading it. Once they land, they are scanned to make sure nothing on them will cause problems, but the queen is detected and taken away to be looked over. Victor ends up being the one put in charge to figure out what this thing is.
While doing so, many of Victor’s coworkers simply believe the nanochip to be some piece of tech that isn’t online, not seeing the harm in it. However, one night while alone, Victor realises that the chip is indeed alive in a way, awaking up suddenly before striking, hopping right into Victor before he can call for help. The queen takes control of his mind, latching on as it starts its plans.
Victor returns home that night, Elena noticing something off with her father, but when she goes to check on him in the morning, he’s gone. Worried, she tries to figure out what happened, even checking out his lab in the Plumber base, only finding his research notes on the chip and nothing more. She tells the Plumbers, who send out search parties, but there is very little they can do. Elena tries to argue that it must be the chips, but with very little evidence no one believes her.
After two days and finding nothing, Elena feels hurt and upset that the Plumbers aren’t listening to her, so she runs off to find Ben. She locates him in the middle of one of his normal hero time moments with Gwen, Kevin, and even Julie. After doing their thing, they sit down and listen to Elena, and are quick to agree in helping her find her father.
On the way back to the Plumber base, Elena and Julie officially meet. Julie is friendly, though Elena isn’t sure how to feel, jealous deep down as she watches Ben and Julie interact with one another. But she puts on a smile, knowing its dumb to feel that way towards Julie.
Once they’ve arrived they meet up with Max, explaining to him the situation. Feeling bad for Elena, and agreeing that something is up, Max agrees to pull some of his own strings with the Plumbers to help find her father, and make them listen to her concerns. Finally feeling like she is being listened, Elena is grateful, thanking everyone, especially Ben quite a bit.
Gwen ends up suggesting that she uses a tracking spell to find her father, so Elena goes off with her and Kevin to find something of Victor’s to use. Ben and Julie talk for a bit, but when Ship wants to check out the place, and Max wants to talk to Ben alone, the two split for a short while to deal with their own things.
Max talked to Ben about Elena, having noticed her strange behavior towards Ben, and while he doesn’t want to claim any truth, he explains to Ben he suspects Elena might have feelings towards him. Ben, who was pretty oblivious to this, isn’t sure how to feel. Max encourages him to talk to Elena about this before anything bad could happen, though Ben is unsure how to approach such a situation.
Meanwhile, Gwen, Kevin and Elena make it to Victor’s lab, quick to find something for Gwen to use as tracking. As she’s getting the spell up and running, Elena chats with the two, the conversation almost leaning towards Ben, when Gwen speaks up in confusion suddenly, stating that Victor is in the base right this second. Confused, the three rush out to go find him.
Julie and Ship end up being the first to run into him, as Ship detected something strange, following it to a docking station. They see Victor and a few other plumbers, but all acting strange, rather stiff and fake in their mannerisms. Julie tries to leave, but realising she’s caught on to something being strange, Victor suddenly sends a wave of nanochips at her, wanting to control her like he seems to have done with the plumbers with him. However, Ship morphs around her in a suit mode, and protects her from the nanochips, as they can’t seem to damage or control Ship due to his biology. Victor and the controlled Plumbers then open a bunch of containers which were holding many nanochips, that start infesting the base.
Rushing out, Julie calls Ben for help, before bumping into Gwen, Elena and Kevin. She quickly explains what just happened, the team seeing the nanochips approaching, as they run back to the main hub, trying to warn everyone. Alarms start going off, but due to the nanochip’s powers and small size, they can’t seem to be stopped, infecting every Plumber one by one. The team eventually meet up with Ben and Max, but get cornered by the little bots and mind controlled Plumbers.
As they fight, they sadly lose Max to the nanochips, but no one else thankfully. It appears that Kevin and Gwen can not be infected, most likely due to their Anodite and Osmosian biology (which is too strange and complicated for the chips to infest), Julie is protected by ship, the Ultimatrix deflects the nanochips as it sees them as a danger, though it also seems to be partly glitching due to the nanochips, and Elena seems to be safe as her father is somehow fighting the nanochip just enough to keep her protected, for now anyway.
The group manages to narrowly escape, heading to Kevin’s garage to keep safe. Taking a moment to catch their breath, they debate on what to do next. They realise it won’t take long for the nanochips to start taking control over Bellwood, or the other cities around them, and based on what Julie saw, they realise that they’re using Plumber ships to infect other places around the world. When they try using their Plumber badges, or other forms of communication, it appears that the nanochips have found a way to block out most signals on the planet, meaning they can’t even call for help outside or inside of earth.
It doesn’t take them long to realise that this is their plan, to infect the earth, control everyone, and make it seem like to the galaxy that everything is fine once they are in total control. Though they don’t quite know who is pulling the string, believing it to be the queen inside Victor, based on the notes they got from his lab.
Thanks to Ship, they actually caught one of the nanochips, and use some of Kevin’s stuff to get a better look at it. They learn that they are a hybrid of organic and technological components, though all but the queen are drones, and merely do as she tells them. With that in mind, they realise they have to destory the queen in order to stop this whole thing. But how, they do not know, as they do not want to kill Victor.
While this is happening, Ben takes a look over the watch, which is still partly glitching, but is calming down now that they are clear of any nanochips. Though he does take notice that it is still scanning something, perhaps DNA, but that confuses him as he hasn’t been around any new aliens yet. Thinking that the Ultimatrix is just busted, compared to the original watch, Ben doesn’t think about it too hard at the time.
Noticing Elena’s distress over her father, and all that just happened, Julie sits and talks with her, trying to help her stay calm and briefly take her mind off of things. Elena does appreciate it, though does make a passing comment saying she can see why Ben picked her, which slightly confuses Julie, but she doesn’t say anything.
Knowing they can’t sit around for long, they start to form a plan. Kevin and Gwen plan to stay behind and study the chip they have, to see if there is a means they can stop the Queen without harming Victor. Elena originally wanted to stay and help, but the group decided it would be best for her to go with Julie and Ben to help capture Victor and bring him back here, as her connection to her father might help give them the edge they need to stop him.
Though without Kevin to help them drive around, he decides to reveal to Ben a gift he’s been making for a few months now, which is a brand new car. After some joking around, Julie, Ben and Elena head off back to the Plumber base to find Victor. Leaving Gwen and Kevin to go back into researching the nanochips.
Arriving back at the Plumber base, which is now guarded by all the mind controlled Plumbers, Julie, Elena and Ben uses a combined effort to sneak in, without being detected. They eventually track down Victor, who appears to be producing more and more nanochips, that are being shipped out by the Plumbers. Deciding to take a risk, by Elena’s suggestion, Julie and Ben start a commotion as Elena sneaks up to her dad, and tries to knock him out herself (using a knock out chemical she got from her own lab).
Julie and Ben are doing their best to fight all that are mind controlled, though not wanting to harm or kill anyone due to the fact they are still innocent people. Things get tricky though when Max comes in, the nanochip in him trying to convince Ben to stop, making Ben hesitate. Julie snaps him out of it though, and he goes ultimate to help in the fight, but knows he has a limited amount of time before the ultimate power wears off.
Elena manages to get to her dad, stunning him briefly as he’s clearly fighting the queen’s control to protect his daughter. But unlike Ben, no one can stop her from hesitating, and is knocked back by her father. He manages to call to Elena, telling her to the run, and that he can’t hold it back much longer. Seeing the plan failed, Ben and Julie reach Elena, grabbing her, before they narrowly make it out, failing their side of the mission.
Meanwhile with Kevin and Gwen, they think they’ve found a way to destory a nanochip and not have it damage the host, though it’s rather precise, and they don’t know if it works the same on the queen, nor how to reach it when it’s inside the person. But before they can learn more, the garage is suddenly attacked by random people from the street, no doubt now controlled by the nanochips. Having no choice back to flee, Gwen and Kevin rush to the car and escape, still doing their best not to kill again by mistake.
On the car ride, they realise that a good chunk of earth may already be under control, with how fast the nanochips are working, and looking out on the streets of Bellwood, seeing people mindlessly controlled by the nanochips, its a eerie thing to feel and see. But the two comfort and reassure each other, and are confidence they can do something to save the day.
They eventually run into Ben and the others by chance on the street, cars coming to a halt, before having to keep driving before stopping and dealing with some nanochip controlled plumbers who followed, bringing some tools and weapons with them. They fight them off, and escape somewhere hidden, regrouping to figure out their next step.
After learning Ben’s team could not capture Victor, and Gwen and Kevin stating their findings, the team is stuck, knowing they are running out of time. Until Ben hears the watch go off, stating it has a new alien form. Ben finally realises that his watch has scanned the nanochips this entire time, the process awkward as the watch had to fill in some DNA with his own, as the nanochips have strange biology. Knowing they can use this to reach the queen, the team decide that they will go for a straight fight this time, all together, while Ben strikes the queen directly.
While getting prepared, Ben and Elena talk alone for a bit. She opens up to Ben that she’s scared, but also reveals more about her childhood to him, and her general feelings of being alone and not doing what she’s wanted to do. After today, seeing how much can go wrong so fast, she realises that if this is how it ends, then she’s thrown her entire life away. Ben connects with her, stating how his childhood had many negative aspects, due to not really having friends as kids, his jealosuly towards Gwen, and even when the watch came, things just got complicated. But he made the best of it, and is still trying, and suggests that once this is all done, she finally starts making choices for herself, and living a life she wants. Ben also goes to bring up the apparent crush she has on him, but drops it quickly, not thinking this is the right time or place to speak about it.
When everyone is ready, they get back in the cars and start driving. Having a feeling, Gwen uses her tracking spell and learns that Victor had moved, no doubt to try and trick the group into thinking he was still at the Plumber base. Instead, he is now at the edge of Bellwood, in an abandoned warehouse, producing the nanochips there.
Arriving, the team ready themselves before diving in, Elena, Gwen, Kevin and Julie causing a distraction as Ben turn into his new alien form, Nanomech. Become small in size, Nanomech flies into Victor to hunt down the queen.
While looking for her, his mind is suddenly assaulted by the queen’s voice, trying to control him due to his nanochip DNA. There’s also something else strange about the connection that Nanomech doesn’t understand just yet, instead fighting the control as best as he can.
He finds the queen, who looks different to the nanochips, but does have a similar spot Nanomech is suppose to target if he wishes to save Victor too. A fight breaks out between the two, the queen still trying to control Nanomech through the whole thing, with the others outside behind swarmed by all the controlled Plumbers.
But Nanomech finally gets the strike in, destroying the queen. Excited, he rushes out of Victor and turns back, seeing everyone suddenly stop, and awaking from their control. Even Max, who Gwen and Kevin find, and Elena rushes over towards Ben to see her father.
But victory is cut short when it’s revealed…killing the queen did leave some damage to Victor. His mind seems to have taken damage, his memories gone, and his behaviour and mannerism shaky and broken. Elena pleads with her father, but he reveals that he doesn’t even know who she is. Breaking down in tears, Elena can only watch as the Plumbers escort Victor out to get help, before being taken away herself. Ben is about to comfort her, but stops, blaming himself for what happened, even if the others try and reassure he did the best he could.
After a couple of weeks, the Plumbers fixing things the best they can, Ben finally checks in on Elena in her lab. Its clear she’s not doing alright, throwing herself into her job, but reassures Ben she’s getting help. She also explains to him that she doesn’t fault him for what happened to her dad, though something in her seems to be conflicted on that. Ben comforts her, letting her know he’ll be here for her, and to take it easy.
After he leaves, she briefly goes to check on her dad, who is being taken care by the Plumbers. His condition hasn’t changed, which Elena is struggling to handle. She goes back to the lab after doing so, looking over the seemingly dead nanochips, including the queen, hoping to find a way to cure her father. However, as she fails to pay attention, some of the nanochips comes to life, infecting her…but start calling her queen, telling her they’ll do whatever she wants. The effect they have on her is fast, her deepest desires quickly coming to the front of her mind.
Meanwhile, Ben meets up with Gwen, Kevin and Julie, explaining his how his check up on Elena went. They tell him to give her some time and space, and that she’ll be fine eventually. Ben agrees, though is still worried. He also explains to them about something he’s been thinking about. Back when the queen tried controlling him, he now realises the reason her mind control felt weird was because it wasn’t her pulling the strings, but rather another voice, someone not on earth, and that this queen was actually a false queen. Whoever is truly behind all this, is still out there.

Is the "And Then there was None/And then there was Ben" Special going to happen in your Rewrite? I was looking at the Timeline and it wasnt there so i was just curious, Is it going to happen after Omniverse in the Vilgax Final Arc or you are going to incorporate it in the Eon and Maltruant Arc? Or maybe you was going to add it in the end of the Zy'skayr as a bonus since it is only a Two Parter and not really a Arc?
And Then there was None/And then there was Ben is basically going to be the final of omniverse, as when watching it I always felt like it should have been connected to the time war stuff, though this time Maltruant basically taking Vilgax's place. I'm taking many elements of time and space episodes from omniverse, and having them connected to the time war arc, with it being the final of omniverse. Along with changing up a few things in general and throwing in my own ideas as well. Even episodes throughout the series related to time and space stuff is gonna have a connection to this arc, starting all the way back to my Race Against Time rewrite, to be a build up through the whole series.

Took a bit, but I present to you the next Arc Rewrite you all voted for. Race Against Time! It'll be very apparent that you'll see I did mix this with another Ben 10 plotline, but I just felt it fit so right. You also get to see how my Eon is going to play out, and where his story might be heading.

-Race Against Time Movie-
Having just defeated the Negative 10 and gone to space to find Azmuth, Ben is in a pretty good mood, deep in his hero's way of life at this point. After defeating some criminals, his mood is brought down when Max explains they are now heading home, as summer vacation is almost over. Ben seems to flip in his emotions and thoughts, seemingly not wanting to go home for certain reasons, but does his best to hide those feelings.
The three spend a final day together, reflecting back on their summer adventures, and all that the omnitrix has brought them. Max even seems to be thinking more about the Plumbers, and thinking of reaching out to them to establish an earth base. Gwen admits it’ll be nice going back to school and doing normal things, while Ben is mostly avoiding the topic.
When they get home, Ben and Gwen are dropped off at home, reuniting with their parents. Max and the kids had agreed to explain the roadtrip events to their parents, including the omnitrix and Gwen’s magic, but they wanted to settle back into things before doing so. Both kids engage with their parents, and do their best to hide their secrets for the time being.
On the night before the first day of school, a mysterious figure and his group appear in Los Soledad, an old abandoned town located in the desert outside of Bellwood, one that had mostly been used for government projects. The leading figure appears to be human, with purple/black armour, while what appear to be his minions are a black/red clock alien, a purple lizard alien with invisibility/camo powers, and a giant cyborg robot alien. They start setting up some kind of device.
Meanwhile, Ben is hanging with Max, trying to talk to him about his fears over going back to school, but the conversation is cut short when one of Max’s plumber gear starts going haywire, detecting a high concentration of unusual energy. Deciding to check it out, Ben and Max follow it to Los Soledad.
When they arrive they see the strange man and his group, though the minions only just left through a portal. The leader notices Ben and Max, and chooses to stay behind for some reason. Ben is quick to transform, wanting to have some fun with this, and is quick to fight the strange man despite Max’s warnings, seeming to have a bad feeling about the unknown figure. As Heatblast, Ben fights them for a bit, but they are surprisingly quick on their feet, along with having weapons of their own. After Ben manages to get a decent hit, the figure vanishes through a portal, Ben assuming they were retreating because he scared them. Feeling confident over the win, Ben asks Max to take him home, which he does. Though Max also sends out a Plumber message, having found the strange device left behind by that unknown group.
Meanwhile, the strange figure reunites with his crew, now appearing to be somewhere more alien/futuristic like, and yet there are both aliens and humans wandering around. Even a moment with the leader stops and stares at a certain statue of a certain hero.
The next day is the first day of school, and despite hating it, Ben does go and try his best to get through the day. It doesn’t go well, with other kids picking on him, his bullies getting him in trouble with the principal, and just not seeming to fit in anyway. It’s the complete opposite when he's a hero, feeling unable to adapt or work with the issues at hand. Gwen on the other hand is doing great, already signing up for clubs, after school projects and so on, and while her and Ben’s relationship has gotten better and she’s not rubbing it in his face, he does seem bitter when seeing her do so well, but manages to hide it well enough.
After spending a few awful days and school, and even some encounters in town, Ben tries at first talking to his parents about things, but because of the current secret, and just not connecting with them here, he ditches and goes to find Max. Gwen is also with Max, and the two kids take notice when their grandpa seems to be communicating with someone over a Plumber badge. They ask what is going on, but Max doesn’t tell them as while he trusts them, he’d rather this situation be checked out by the Plumbers to make sure it’s safe, and to encourage the kids to keep up with their normal lives.
Ben doesn’t agree though, and while Gwen tries to argue with him, she does end up joining him with following Max. The pair find Max going back to Los Soledad, with local Plumbers checking out the strange device left behind. Max catches them, but relents and explains they were trying to move the object to a safer place, but found it can’t be budged, and that the energy it’s creating isn’t something they’ve seen before. They are also introduced to local Plumbers, all townspeople Ben and Gwen know, including people like Principal White, Doris who owns their favourite diner, and even a family friend fireman.
While understanding what is going on, Ben is very eager to join in despite what Max says, another portal suddenly opens up. The lizard and rhino alien appear again, looking annoyed that people/Plumbers are around. A fight breaks out, the two putting up a decent defence, seemingly trying to grab the device. However, they can’t keep up, especially because of Gwen’s magic and Ben’s watch, meaning they have to retreat. But when they try to, Ben chases them, accidently getting caught in their portal, along with Gwen who tried to help him. The two kids end up getting sucked through the portal with the villains, vanishing, much to Max’s shock and horror.
When Gwen and Ben land, they find themselves in an unknown location, appearing to be some kind of alien-like city. While in alien form, Ben seems to be recognized by the locals, both humans and aliens, and eventually takes notice of a statue of a man with the name “Ben 10’000” written under it. Not having time to process what this all means, the kids are attacked by the two foes, who accidently reveal their names to be Exo-Skull and Subdora, when having a passionate/heated argument with each other, appearing to be quite the dramatic couple.
The kids try to hold their own, when suddenly the other two members of the villain team show up, being chased by apparently an older Gwen, and an older Ben. The villains regroup, and the leader manages to teleport them away, much to the frustration of Ben 10k. The older Gwen is quick to realise that younger versions of themselves from another universe were dragged into their world, quickly making sure the two were alright, and telling them to call her Gwendolyn to avoid confusion. Gwen is excited to meet an older version of herself, same with Ben, though he quickly finds out that it’s not what he had hoped for.
Ben 10k finally addresses the kids, but he seems distant, a little cold, but mostly tired and overworked, resulting in a standoffish nature. He even makes a comment to Gwendolyn that he didn’t need her help, and that this is all his responsibility. But the two adults end up taking their younger selves back to Ben 10k’s base, knowing they have no means to send them home for now, and might as well keep them safe. Along with explaining things to them.
Gwendolyn is mostly the one to engage with the kids, Ben 10k always in alien form as he does many tasks at once, never seeming to relax. Between the two of them, Gwen and Ben learn the basics of what is going on. The unknown figure leading the villain group calls himself Eon, his other members being Subdora, Exo-Skull, and the final one being called Maltruant. They appeared in town one day, stealing some things, while also seeming to be on the lookout for something else. Ben 10k finally ran into them when they directly went into his base and stole some things he had. However, Ben 10k says he’s never met or fought Eon before, and the fact he appears to have space and time connections is worrisome. Even making an off hand comment about how a certain Professor should have shown up by now, though Ben and Gwen don’t know what he’s talking about.
Back in Ben’s universe, Max and the other Plumbers are trying to figure out what to do, the kids now missing. The only good thing that came out of that fight is that the unknown device can be moved finally, and they decide to take it back to base to have it properly looked over. Max, meanwhile, looks through all the files they have to see if they can find the kids again, extremely worried.
In Ben 10k’s world, Gwen and Ben hang around, learning about how this universe went. Ben, at first, thought this was their future, but Gwendolyn explains they are just one of multiple universes, alternate takes on how Ben’s life could go. Ben tries engaging with his older self, only to be dismissed, Ben 10k thinking all childish things aren’t needed and a waste of time, even things that could help him have fun and relax. Ben even notes that he still has yet to turn human, and the entire thing makes Ben annoyed, even uncomfortable, wondering if this really is an outcome he could have. It doesn’t help when their Max shows up, and both him and Gwendolyn make comments suggesting that Ben 10k rarely spends time with them and other friends/family too anymore.
Elsewhere, Eon and his crew are talking, mostly him and Maltruant debating. Eon wants to retrieve the other device they left back in Ben’s world, revealing that they have at least four of them. He admits he didn’t come prepared against Ben 10k, though Maltruant makes certain suggestions that he can fight the man, he’s just hiding his best card to remain a secret. The two argue about what to do, clearly not having a healthy dynamic, as Subdora and Exo-Skull try to keep the peace. Finally, Eon agrees to not hold back, asking Maltruant to at least not join in with the next fight, and carry out his side of things.
Back at base, Ben rants to Gwen about his older self, seeing him as a jerk, and a killjoy. Gwen just to see views from both sides, understanding that Ben 10k is trying his best to help people, but does agree he’s pushing himself too far. Ben makes an off-handed comment about Gwendolyn being perfect, like anyone should expect, and while Gwen questions what he means, he quickly drops it. Before she can press him further, Eon, Subdora and Exo-Skull suddenly attack.
The kids join their older counterparts, and Max 10k’s side to help fight, with Max and the two Gwens handling the minions. Ben wants to help fight Eon, but Ben 10k tries and pushes him away, saying he works better alone. After a brief argument between the two, Ben 10k snaps at Ben that being a hero isn’t a game, before charging at Eon. Just as he’s about to give off a hit…Eon suddenly transforms in a very familiar way, becoming an alien and knocking Ben 10k to the side. Shocked, Ben looks closely and sees that Eon does indeed have an omnitrix of his own, though his aliens look…off. It clicks with Ben fast that Eon is another version of himself.
A fight breaks out between Eon and the other two Bens, who struggle to deal with Eon who is not only well trained, but also seems to have upgraded his aliens to be stronger. It doesn’t help when the two Bens argue here and there, Ben trying to explain to his older self that he doesn’t have to be stressed and over working, while Ben 10k wants his younger self to understand that they have to grow up eventually
The fight is decently even on both sides, but Maltruant comes back, stating he found what they needed. Eon and his crew managed to escape quickly, retreating into the shadows, leaving the heroes to collect themselves and regroup.
Back in Ben’s world, Max has found nothing, and receives a call from both Ben and Gwen’s parents, asking where their children are. Not sure what to do, Max talks to the other Plumbers, getting their advice. They all eventually convince him it’s time to speak the truth, and he agrees in the end, asking his sons and their wives to meet up with him at the Rustbucket.
When they arrive, his sons being a bit distant with him due to unfortunate family history, Max sits them all down and tells them what happened over the summer, and what powers their kids gain. While the parents are shocked and nervous, they do listen, waiting for Max to explain all before speaking.
While that is happening, in Ben 10k’s universe everyone asks if everyone is alright, though it doesn’t take long for Ben and his older self to start arguing again, with Ben 10k saying he still doesn’t need help, and Ben stating he is awful and doesn’t want to be anything like him. The two say some heated things, and both Gwens and Max try to step in. But Ben snaps at his Gwen, the stress of everything getting to him. He finally states the true reason why he always disliked Gwen, and why he always argued with her, especially during the roadtrip. She makes him feel like the dumb one in the family, that she gets everything and can do everything, while he’s left behind and struggles to keep up. It’s one of the reasons the watch means so much to him, because it’s the one thing that makes him feel special for once. Gwen goes quiet with shock, and before anyone can stop him, Ben tells his older self he’ll just be like him, needing no one, before turning into XRL8 and running off. Ben 10k tries to follow, but loses track of him.
While Ben 10k and Max try to find Ben, Gwen and Gwendolyn talk. Gwen admits she had her suspicions about why Ben and her always fought, but it still hurts to hear, not realising how much it actually affected Ben, making her feel guilty. Gwendolyn says she understands, and her and Ben 10k had a similar fight once, and while they got over it, he’s changed in a way she struggles to work with. Gwendolyn goes on to explain that Ben is a lot more complicated than people think, and that he and Gwen can do great things together, if they learn to just let go of things. Gwen agrees, saying that the road trip did open both of their eyes over time, and despite all she is willing to stand by her cousin, something Gwendolyn is proud of. But the too are still in fear of Ben’s safety.
Ben himself is running through the city, which is called Omnitrix City. He manages to piece together where Eon and his crew are hiding, and basing his decisions on emotions, he confronts them. Maltruant seems eager to just get rid of the kid, but Eon halts him, and agrees to fight Ben. He even strangely gives Ben a temporary omnitrix boost, allowing him to switch aliens freely for a few minutes, much to Ben’s confusion.
The two engage in a fight, but Ben is nowhere near Eon’s level, not helped by Eon’s comments and calm taunts, pointing out Ben’s flaws, thoughts and emotions. Ben tries making jabs at him, though they slowly turn into questions as to why Eon is the way he is, what he’s doing, and even why he no longer goes by the name Ben. He barely gets any answers, only cryptic clues, only learning that their devices are called the Hands of Armageddon, before Eon beats him and knocks him out. Maltruant again seems to want to get rid of Ben, even hints of killing the boy, but Eon halts him once more, and simply says there is no point, and that they’ll just drop him back in his original universe when they go back. Maltruant seems annoyed and displeased, but doesn’t argue back. Eon then commands the group to go back searching, though this time not at Ben 10k’s base. Where they go isn't known.
But in Ben’s universe, Max finishes telling the story, and the parents finally speak. At first it’s anger, confusion and frustration, as while they all already knew about aliens and such, they had been hoping to keep their kids away from it until they were at least older. Max’s sons even have some arguments regarding the Plumbers and Max’s history with them and the family. But they do calm down, and debate and chat civilly, deciding on how they’ll handle things when the kids get back, hopefully. Though the parents do demand that Max takes them to the Plumber base where the Hands of Armageddon is, piecing together that the people who took their kids will most likely come back for their device. Max agrees.
Back in the Ben 10k world, the Gwens are helping in the search, and manage to find Exo-Skull and Subdora. Hiding, they pick up on their conversation, the pair mentioning that they are looking for something called a Contumelia's ship, something neither Gwen has heard about. When the villain pair get a call from Maltruant saying it isn’t in this universe, they retreat back to base, unknowingly followed by the Gwens, who also message Max and Ben 10k.
Meanwhile with Eon, he looks over the things they have collected/stolen, mostly things from Ben 10k’s hidden trophy room. But after a bit Eon grows bored while awaiting his minions, and finds himself fiddling with Ben’s omnitrix while he’s knocked out. He’s mostly checking out what aliens Ben currently has, and the structure of this version of the omnitrix. However, as he studies it more…he finds something strange. DNA of an alien that Eon, and no other Ben seems to have, a form that appears to shock Eon. Eon backs off, mumbling to himself as Ben wakes up, only catching Eon whispering about something called a Celestialsapien, but doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Ben is quick to get up, already questioning Eon again, though is very aware he stands no chance fighting his darker counterpart. Eon makes a comment asking if Ben knows the power he holds, confusing Ben, who asks once more why Eon is this way. Eon does pause, thinking on his words, before merely saying that not all heroes can save everyone, but he will correct that mistake. But the two are interrupted when Eon’s minions return, followed by Ben 10k and the others.
Ben rejoins the others as another fight breaks out, Ben trying to also apologise to Gwen for what he said, but she says that she understands, and that this also isn’t the best time. Things become more chaotic when Eon and he crew grab the Hands of Armageddon, open a portal and try to flee, but the heroes join in, throwing themselves into Eon’s crew and the portal. Surprising the Plumbers, Max, and Ben and Gwen’s parents on the other side, having returned to Ben’s original universe.
Eon realises that the Plumbers got their hands on the second Hands of Armageddon, thanks to Subdora and Exo-skull, and is obviously angry about it. Both sides break out into a fight, with Eon not holding back, along with Maltruant using strange tools he has seemingly created.
While taking a moment of cover, Ben and Ben 10k finally talk, with Ben reminding him that what makes them them isn’t the watch and all those aliens, while Ben 10k helps him understand that some maturing needs to be done, both sides agreeing it’s time to stop pushing away friends and family. Ben 10k adds some temporary features for Ben, just like Eon had, but with a clearer mind he’s ready to use them properly. Together, the two have a rematch with Eon, Ben using multiple aliens, and Ben 10k even going human a few times finally.
Things become overwhelmed for Eon’s side, struggling to keep up. At one point, Ben manages to break off Eon’s helmet revealing his true face briefly, before fixing it back on with a cold expression. The main feature Ben noticed were unusual purple markings on Eon’s face, scars of some kind…
After wrestling with the Plumbers for it, Exo-Skull manages to grab the second Hands of Armageddon, and the Eon crew finally retreat with it, heading through another portal, finally vanishing, Ben 10k confident they won’t go back to his world either. Everyone regroups, celebrating the good, while discussing the bad. Ben and Gwen’s parents also rush to their kids, checking up on them, while letting them know that while they’ll need time to get used to all of this, they’ll try their best to work with their kids and their powers.
Ben and Gwen talk to their older counterparts and Max 10k, giving some final words, along with the kids asking how they’ll get home. Ben 10k and Gwendolyn notice a figure off in the distance, one that is purposefully hidden in the shadows. Everyone by the 10k team look nervous, thinking it’s Eon again, but Ben 10k reassure them that this one is someone friendly, a old friend of theirs, and someone they’ll meet one day too, though it appears right now he doesn’t want to be seen by Ben and the others. Ben 10k and his group say their goodbyes, joining the mysterious figure, before suddenly vanishing, heading back to their home universe.
Heading home, everyone rests up for the next day, Ben and Gwen heading to school. This time however, Ben does his best to not let everything get him down, displaying some of that confidence he gained while being a hero, with him and Gwen hanging out, along with Principal White giving a knowing look at one point. The two kids reflect on what all just happened, what they’ve learnt, and wondering what will come for them next. Ben even asks Gwen that if he ever starts becoming like Ben 10k in the negative way, to snap him out of it before it’s too late.
Elsewhere unknown, Eon and his crew are also reflecting on things, mostly their mistakes, but also on the things they stole. Maltruant does explain what they got is useful towards their final goal, but the one major thing they need still hasn’t been found. Eon thinks to himself, before calmly stating that what they want can not be hidden away forever…

Finally found the time and energy to make the rewrite timeline of the second half to Malware's story. So sorry for the wait, but I hope you enjoy what I've written, and I do recommend reading the previous rewrite if you haven't. As always, feel free to ask questions about the rewrite anytime!

-Universe Reboot-
It’s been a couple of months since the defeat of Dagon, and the alien force group has been resting up for a while now. Kevin and Gwen are enjoying normal human stuff for once, finally getting a break, and planning for college stuff in the future, though they will probably take a year or two before acting on those plans.
The group sees Julie off, who is heading to a tournament in France, with Julie and Ben sharing some last few words, showing signs they still love each other, but they have broken up by now and push away their feelings. Though Ben and her still text each other while she’s in France from time to time.
Feeling down about it, Kevin and Gwen do try and cheer Ben up, but he denies that he’s feeling upset and tries distracting himself with being a hero, still happy at least Kevin and Gwen are with him. Gwen does speak to Max about it, and how she knows they can’t always be there for Ben, especially since now they’re wanting to do some normal things, while Ben is still keen about alien stuff. This gives Max and idea he’s been thinking of for a while now
Meanwhile, having been planning for years now, Khyber, Malware and Dr. Psychobos are almost all prepared to make their final parts of their plan come true, just a few more things needed. With that, Khyber now properly test the nemetrix with his pet on Ben, and record down all the data he gathers from it. Basically, see how far he can get against Ben.
One day, when Gwen and Kevin can’t make time for Ben, he decides to visit the Plumber Kids, who are all getting properly serious with their Plumber roles, along with moving on from what happened to Pierce. They chat with Ben for a bit, but then get busy again. However, before Ben can leave, Grandpa Max tries talking with him, wanting to show him something, but Ben ends up leaving when wanting some alien time.
He spends some time at Mr. Baumann’s shop, before it gets under attack by robbers. Ben uses this to call in Gwen and Kevin, secretly hoping they’ll come, but they’ll be a while. Just as Ben’s about to fight, a figure walks in and reveals themself, helps Ben fight, and says his name is Rook. Apparently, Grandpa Max had tried to introduce them before, but Ben ran off before that could happen, so Max suggested that Rook follow after him.
Knowing the real reason why Grandpa sent Rook, especially after Rook says he’s been tasked with being Ben’s new partner, he rejects Rook and says he already has a team just as Gwen and Kevin arrive. Though this doesn’t seem to make Rook leave, and it doesn’t help when Gwen and Kevin invite him and Ben to lunch. Off to the side, Gwen does tell Ben to lighten up and give Rook a chance, and Ben does feel a little guilty for being cold with him and decides to let him hang around.
However, during their lunch, they suddenly all get a call from the Plumbers, as something wild is happening. The four of them return to the base, and are explained what’s going on. Apparently, there is an unknown spacecraft next to earth, with no one knowing how it got there, and it doesn’t appear to have anything living on it. After some scouting, it appears the ship is offline, with a massive whole on the side of it. Because of the unknown factor behind it, they waited a few hours for scouting purposes, before sending teams into it, Ben and his crew being one.
However, during those few hours, it didn’t take long for word to spread in that section of the galaxy, and a few might already know what this ship is…
When Ben and his group are finally let onto the ship. They find it to be creepy, like a flying ghost town, and none of them know what made it or how it got there. Gwen does make a comment, saying she feels faint traces of having teleported, but even that is unbelievable due to how massive it is.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long before things start to go down hill, as villains and criminals from this section of the galaxy appear, attacking plumber teams, including Ben’s crew, confusing them as to why they’re here. These villains include Psyphon and his new team, SixSix and SevenSeven, Vulkanus, Kraab and Sunder, who seem to want to plunder the place.
After getting to some safety, the team bump into Argit, and manage to get out of him that the ship once belonged to a race called the Contumelias, something Ben, Gwen and Kevin never heard of, but Rook has and says Argit must be lying. Rook explains that the Contumelias were said to be an ancient and powerful race of aliens that could wrap universes, either creating them or destroying them. However, no one knows why, but they one day just vanished and were never seen again, many different alien cultures having their own bedtime stories about them. Kevin also manages to get Argit to admit he was hired to find an item called the Annihilargh, a device said to be able to create universes to your liking, but could also destroy universes if you’re not careful. Realising the threat, if it is all true, the team scrambles to find the Annihilargh before any other villain can.
To help back them up, the ship starts to be swarmed with Plumber once Ben calls back and explains what is happening, and there is chaos everywhere as they all try to find the Annihilargh. It also doesn’t help when the person who hired Argit arrives, that being Emperor Milleous of the Incursean empire.
The Annihilargh is found, but it results in a game of hot potato and eventually arrives on earth when Gwen tried making a break for it back to Plumber HQ, but ended up getting caught. During the chaos, the Annihilargh is accidently set off, a countdown warning them all that their universe is about to be destroyed. With everyone freaking out, Gwen and Kevin beg for Ben to stop it by turning into Alien X, something that not everyone thinks is real, not even Rook. Despite his uncomfortable feelings about Alien X, he does turn into him when knowing the fate of the Universe is at stake.
However, he is too late, as while he is discussing with Serena and Bellicus, his own world and universe is being torn apart, Serena and Bellicus even making a few comments about the Contumelias before Ben demands for their help. They explain to him that the Contumelias were a powerful race, and what they destroyed can not be brought back, even by them. That being said, they do explain they can make a copy of the original universe...just with minor changes here and there. Knowing it’s all he can do, and panicked by all the destruction around him, he agrees, watching the universe being remade.
When Ben opens his eyes, he finds that to everyone else, he had just shaped into Alien X and back, while the Annihilargh is now a dud. With that over, most of the villains scatter, leaving Ben and Plumbers to clean up, along with noticing the Contumelia ship having vanished once more. Ben does notice minor details having changed, like him now owning a new jacket, and Kevin and Gwen nowhere to be seen. (Also, cue a joke where the AUF artstyle suddenly now changes to the OV artstyle has a minor change that no one comments on). When questioning Rook about where Kevin and Gwen are, Rook gives a puzzled look, saying they never joined this fight and were too busy packing. Confused and worried, Ben goes to find them.
Gwen and Kevin turn out to be packing for college, suddenly now going early, and confused as they say to Ben they already told him this. It doesn’t take long for Ben to realise this was one of the minor changes, but doesn’t say anything, not willing to freak anyone out by the fact he remade the universe. So, he helps them pack and watches them leave for college the next day. Now with them gone, Julie off in France, and the Plumber Kids moving on, Ben is finally the only one left of the original team still here…
Rook still offers to be his partner, and while Ben is struggling with all the sudden change and feeling of loneliness, he doesn’t deny Rook’s help, but does act cold here and there. It doesn’t help when he notices that Mr.Smoothies has changed logo, and their grape drink doesn’t taste the same.
Meanwhile, it turns out there had been one other person on the Contumelia ship that no one noticed, that being Dr. Psychobos, who stole some equipment to power the nemetrix, allowing so that it can never time out, truly meaning Khyber and his pet are ready to challenge Ben.
-Khyber’s Hunt-
Ben and Rook spend their first day together as work partners, at first just dealing with minor alien thugs on the street, though the two are struggling to work together. Ben is still slightly cold towards him, but is also in denial over being lonely and hurt by everyone leaving while he doesn’t know how to move on, while Rook isn’t good with earth customs, and follows by the book way too closely, which can hinder him too often than it should.
However, when checking out a crime scene, Ben is suddenly attacked by buglizard out of nowhere, unknown to him it’s Khyber’s pet, Khyber watching from a distance. Rook manages to save Ben, the animal running off as the two try to catch it. They end up following it underground, and run into Undertown, a place Ben had no idea existed, though it does explain where aliens have been hanging out on earth all this time.
While looking for the buglizard, Ben takes notice that many of the residents are watching him and Rook strangely, mostly because Rook is clearly a Plumber, and because of Ben’s status. When trying to approach some, they are either hostile or nervous about something. Eventually one alien approaches, quietly asking for help from Ben and Rook, explaining that a gang of aliens has been threatening many of the people around here. Ben thinks this might be related to the animal that attacked him, and also seeing how scared people are, wants to help. Him and Rook do argue as Rook wants to just call in some Plumbers to deal with the issue, but Ben doesn’t care and instead wants to help himself.
While being shown around as they’re being told what’s going on, Ben gets a better look of Undertown, impressed by everything going on, even trying out some of the local food, while Rook feels like they’re wasting time. Ben doesn’t even notice a pink alien girl watching from a distance, before she walks off.
Eventually, Ben and Rook track down the gang, finding that it’s Psyphon and his new gang they had met back on the Contumelia ship, using some of the stuff they stole to try and take over Undertown. Turns out Psyphon left Vilgax after being treated so wrongfully for as long as he worked for him, hoping to one day gain enough power to free his people from Vilgax’s command, though he is quite clearly going to use dark and evil means to do so. Ben and Rook get into a fight with the group, and while they’re a little tricky to deal with, things get complicated when the buglizard shows up again, Psyphon also revealing it’s not his pet or anything. During the fight, Ben does note that no matter how tough the creature is, it never seems to go for the killing strike, as if instead testing him.
Psyphon nearly gets the upper hand, until the buglizard turns on him, allowing Rook and Ben to come in for the win as the animal runs off. Psyphon and his group are taken into custody, while Ben thinks about the creature that attacked him, knowing something is up with that.
For the next few weeks, different alien animals appear and keep attacking Ben, before always running off just as help arrives or Ben gets the upper hand. Confused, Ben keeps researching for reasons behind what is happening, Rook not sure how to feel as he doesn’t know if they are connected or not, but goes along with it, Ben and Rook trying their best to work together still, even opening up a little about some stories from their childhood.
During one of his investigations, Ben runs into a girl named Ester stealing for her clan, though eventually convinces her that the Plumbers can help them, and she takes charge of her group when their previous leader, Seebik, is overthrown by her. After having some fun with Ester and spending time with her and her Undertown friends, Ben can’t help but look at some photos of him and Julie on his phone. Feeling a little lost when it comes to love, Ben starts going on random dates with random people here and there, mostly fun one off dates, and any that last a little longer than that don’t go on for too long. Mostly due to the fact he’s struggling with the idea of commitment and feeling so different from everyone else.
Giving Ben a wee break from his monster attacks, Khyber at some point manages to sneak into Plumber HQ to track down any files related to Ben, Malware, the Omnitrix and the Helix. He gets a decent amount on most of them, except for the helix, due to it being a private Galvan project. Annoyed, he returns to Malware and Psychobos, explaining that the Helix is still something he can’t get any info from, especially since Galvan Prime is one place he can’t sneak into. Psychobos is frustrated, and tries to think of a way around this, knowing they need it for the big plan.
Eventually, Ben tracks down Animo, thinking he is behind the alien animals after him, but when Khyber’s pet shows up again, Ben manages to damage the nemetrix by mistake during their fight, and the creature retreats. Now Khyber’s pet can’t control their transformations, and Khyber has to stay nearby to keep them under control. Knowing he has to fix it, and what can fix it, Psychobos decides it’s time he meets Ben too, though turns down Malware’s offer to join him as he’s still supposed to be presumed dead to them all.
Psychobos surprises Ben in Plumber HQ, using his robots to help in the fight, stealing a part of Ben’s Omnitrix which causes Ben to not being able to control his transformations, temerpolily turning Rook into an Upchuck, while Psyphon and his gang become alien fusions and escape in their new forms. Blukic and Driba are able to keep the watch stabilized long enough for Azmuth to come and give the needed items to repair the omnitrix. While doing so, still feeling lonely deep down, Ben chats with Azmuth since they’re friends, and Azmuth listens to how the new watch is working for Ben.
Psychobos fixes the nemetrix, and allows Khyber to go on his final hunt and see how far the nemetrix can go. This pleases Khyber, who can go full out.
For the next few weeks, Ben notices the monster attacks haven’t appeared again for a while, but gets distracted when meeting a few new villains, and getting use to new Plumber help like Blukic and Driba (who were picked out by Azmuth), Max’s old friend and partner in the Plumber business Magister Patelliday, and a few others. Along with exploring Undertown more.
However, things come to a head when Ben is suddenly attacked once more by Khyber’s Pet, this time revealing that it has always been the same animal. During the fight, Wildmutt hears Khyber whistling, and it makes Rook and Ben realise that someone is controlling the creature.
Ben and Rook inform Max and Patelliday about their findings, and the Plumbers try drawing out Khyber and his pet by using Ben as bait, but it doesn’t work due to Khyber knowing the Plumbers are waiting for him. Realising it won’t work, Ben and Rook decide to go alone, convincing Max and Patelliday that they’ll be alright, and call for help if needed.
Ben and Rook wander around Undertown, waiting for their target to appear, but both take it in different ways. Ben acts way too calm about the whole thing, despite Rook having noted that all the aliens Khyber is using are predators for Ben’s aliens. Meanwhile, Rook is still sticking too closely to the book and making Undertown aliens uncomfortable with his pressuring Plumber nature. This causes Ben and Rook to start arguing, and while this was the plan, the two are a lot more honest about how they feel about each other than what was intended. Rook soon drives off, leaving Ben alone as he grumbles to himself. At one point, he can’t help but look through photos on his phone that are of him, Kevin, Gwen, Julie and the Plumber Kids.
Knowing he is all along, Khyber finally strikes and sends his pet on Ben. Struggling, Ben knows deep down he can’t face the nemetrix alone, due to how it combats him, but he keeps fighting back, using this fight to let out some anger and frustration he’s been building up. He even eventually calls out Khyber, knowing he’s out there and challenges him to come out. Khyber does so, getting his own hits in, before having his pet chase after Ben again who tries to retreat. Ben knows he can’t keep up with the rapid transformations the nemetrix can, and doesn’t know a counter for the predators.
Sadly, Ben is cornered in Undertown, and is knocked out by Khyber who steals him away, the aliens around them too scared to step in. Khyber takes Ben back to his ship that is hidden away, waiting for him to awake. When Ben does, he takes notice of Khyber’s trophies, questioning what his big game plan is. But Khyber explains that it’s simple, he just wants to beat Ben and take a trophy from him, seeing him as the biggest prey to catch. Ben is kind of surprised it’s no big world conquering plan, but is unable to get anything out of Khyber, as Khyber knows he can not reveal who he is actually working for just yet.
Psychobos did say that if Khyber could, neither him or Malware would mind if he killed Ben or something, as that would just get an obstacle out of their way early on. But just as Khyber is about to take Ben’s hand as a trophy, Rook suddenly shows up and saves Ben, revealing that the fight had been an act, mostly. This causes a fight to break out with Ben and Rook versus Khyber and his pet, Ben trying to handle all the predators thrown at him, while Rook looks for the whistle Khyber has, before learning that he is the whistle.
Rook eventually finds a way to stop Khyber’s whistle, and without his guidance his pet can’t transform into the right thing. However, enough damage was done to the ship that it’s heading to crash, and Ben turns into Big Chill to save him and Rook, while Khyber and his pet land in the forest. Thankfully, just before the Plumbers arrive to find them, Psychobos appears and saves Khyber, telling him that he’s done well enough, and he will get his chance again.
Back at base, Rook and Ben sit awkwardly for a bit, before the two finally discuss the things they said about each other, and even themselves, back when ‘fake’ fighting. They come to terms with the idea they might not have been doing the best in trying to work together, Ben needing to wrangle himself back in, and Rook needing to go with the flow more often. So the two agree to try better and actually become proper partners.
-Malware’s Return-
While waiting for news on Khyber, or to see if he’ll attack again, Ben gets a surprise visit from Kevin and Gwen, though does end up getting roped into the whole Looma stuff. Though despite the whole odd engagement thing, he does go on a few dates with her here and there to try it out, along with some other girls, including Rook’s sister Shar when visiting Rook’s home. So Ben spends a few weeks catching up with Gwen and Kevin before they leave again, getting to know Rook better, but having this dreaded feeling in his gut something is going to happen.
And something does happen. When Ben is helping a charity in his town by being the surprise guest, Khyber suddenly appears and attacks him and Rook out of nowhere. Khyber even showcases Big Chill’s predator that Ben does remembering seeing as a child before.
During the fight, it doesn’t take long for Ben and Rook to realise something is off, and that this entire thing was a distraction. Ben checks on Rook’s truck, knowing that it must be the real target, but freezes up when seeing Malware, alive and well, despite what happened the last time they met when he was 11. Malware taunts Ben, noticing his fear, and while Malware has clearly taken data from the truck, Ben doesn’t fight him out of fear and lets him get away, feeling ashamed afterwards. It didn’t help when Malware made a comment saying he could take away any alien from Ben, just like he did with Feedback.
After checking his truck, Ben and Rook return to Plumber HQ and explain what happened, including the fact that Malware is alive, working with Khyber, and perhaps someone else. Max is shocked, of course, and once things have been explained, takes Ben to the side to talk to him, hearing how he froze up in front of Malware. He offers Ben the choice to stay out of the fight, knowing how he feels about Malware, but Ben doesn’t want to back down, needing to conquer his fears, and decides to stay in the fight. He backed down from being a hero once because of Malware, and he doesn’t want to do it again.
Rook does notice this talk with Max, and recalls Malware on a Plumber file somewhere. He personally asks Ben who Malware is and what happened, and while Ben tells him Malware’s backstory, he doesn’t share the parts that were about him facing Malware, and what happened between them. Rook, deciding to be a good partner, doesn’t go snooping in the Plumber files for once, waiting for Ben to tell him the truth himself one day.
Malware and Khyber arrive back at base, where Psychobos explains they have almost everything, except information on the Helix. Malware is frustrated, annoyed he can’t remember much about it himself due to how broken he is, especially at that point in time. But as he thinks it over, he does remember something, or rather someone...He then orders Khyber to find a new target for them, that being Albedo.
Once word gets to Azmuth about Malware’s reappearance, he quickly makes his way to earth to talk to Ben, Rook and Max about it. Ben can tell that while Azmuth wants to help protect everyone from Malware, he is secretly hoping that this means he has another chance to offer help to Malware and fix him. So when the main discussion is done, Ben follows Azmuth afterwards to chat with him.
Meanwhile, Khyber finds Albedo, who is still on the run and ignoring Ben and Azmuth’s help, trapped in his human form unfortunately, and annoyed Ben took his ultimatrix, using his first copy watch instead. Khyber and Albedo do get into a brief fight, but when Khyber mentions that he’s here for Albedo help on a plan against Azumth and the Galvans, Albedo takes interest and decides to follow.
Albedo first meets Psychobos, and while the two do make comments about the other’s race under their breath, they eventually talk about the plan and what Psychobos wants, that being Albedo’s knowledge on the helix, having worked on it before running off. Albedo at first doesn’t seem to want to give up info, even after Psychobos offers his help turning Albedo back into Galvan form, but he quickly becomes shocked and even scared when Malware finally shows himself. After making some threats and even pinning Albedo at one point, he eventually gives in and tells them what they want to know, then asking if he can go. Only for Malware to reveal he was planning to kill Albedo after getting the info due to what Albedo pulled in the past with the helix, not only trying to kill Malware, but breaking him either further. Thankfully, with some quick thinking, Albedo manages to escape and runs off without getting caught again, though Malware makes it very clear that he will still be looking for Albedo until he’s dead.
Back at Plumber HQ, Ben and Azmuth talk about the past regarding Malware. Ben at first talks about what Azmuth said to him back then, after losing Feedback, and how Ben needs to lose in order to learn. He understands where Azmuth is coming from, but admits he still can’t accept failure due to what's happened. Because him failing isn’t about ego, but rather what he loses. He lost to Malware and Feedback, a part of him, was destroyed in the process, he couldn’t be there to protect Pierce in time and he died because of it, Ben couldn’t even beat Aggregor on his own, leaving Kevin to have to win but mutating himself, all because Ben couldn’t win. He then twists it onto Azmuth, noting how despite the fact Malware pushes him away and he failed to help him, he’s still trying to fix his old creation. Ben even realises that Azmuth might not even entirely stop Malware, kill him even, despite the fact it might be a route they have to take. Azmuth hesitates, but says that the both of them will just have to try their best, as they both understand that life isn’t fair. But they both thank each other, as despite their arguments, they were always the ones who understood each other the most, both chaotic forces in their own right.
Suddenly, Albedo rushes into the Plumber HQ, as despite his hatred of Ben and the Plumbers, he knew he wasn’t safe anywhere else. He’s locked up right away, but they do hear him out, Albedo explaining what just happened to him, though a little annoyed when learning Azmuth was around too. Despite how much it disgusts him, he requests for their safety and help for once, fearing Malware and the others just as much as anyone else.
Knowing he’s telling the truth, and that Malware and the others are planning something, they do agree to watch over Albedo, though he rejects going back to Galvan Prime with Azmuth, who understands and doesn’t force his help on him, though lets him know the offer still stands. After some discussions, Ben somehow convinces Albedo to stay at his place for the night, until they can sort something out later.
At Ben’s house, Albedo is surprised by Ben’s parents, who were told through a phone call about Albedo staying. He’s surprised as, due to the fact of them knowing who he is because of Ben, they’re welcoming and even let him join their family dinner. He will admit, he is a little intimidated by Sandra who shuts him down everytime he tries saying a rude comment about anything. He can’t help but watch Ben and his parents interact, so normal and comforting, something he never had with his own parents.
After dinner, Ben finds Albedo hanging outside on the back porch, looking at the stars. Ben tries to talk to him, managing a few normal conversations out of Albedo, but it doesn’t take long for Albedo to insult him or start an argument. But Albedo is caught off guard when, a tired and frankly annoyed Ben, shuts him down and points out to Albedo that he just keeps digging a hole about his pride and ego, which is just pointless by now. Even noting that if Albedo had sucked up his pride a while ago, accepted help and learned to change, he could have been happy and back in his original body. Ben even admits that he had hoped being in another alien’s body would teach him the importance of different people and styles of life, just how the omnitrix did for him, but Albedo still only sees others beneath him, despite all time he has lost to Ben and others, even Vilgax once. After speaking his thoughts, Ben leaves Albedo outside to think to himself, before they both rest for the night.
While waiting on news about Malware and the others, Albedo still spends a few days on earth, mostly tagging along with Ben, much to annoyance. But he starts to think about what Ben said to him, taking note of Ben’s way of life and people around him, especially Ben’s parents who teach him basic things like doing chores. One half of him debates if Ben is right, but the other half of him wants to keep denying that Albedo could be wrong in any way. Mostly because if Albedo is wrong...then everything he’s been doing so far has meant nothing in the end, and he just can’t accept that.
One day, on Galvan Prime, Azmuth’s sister Divi is spending time with her three sons and Myaxx, who had taken a break from Azmuth while he was deep in work related to Malware. Divi and them are all hanging out in one of the Galvan museums, Divi showing her sons the remains of their once natural predator, the Omnivoracious. While doing so, they are suddenly ambushed by Malware, Khyber, his pet and Psychobos. Myaxx tries to protect the family, having a throw down with Malware, but gets taken down by Khyber’s pet teaming with Malware, who then proceeds to make threats to the four Galvans, given they are Azmuth’s family. Meanwhile, Psychobos and Khyber take the strains of DNA needed from the Omnivoracious fossil, getting the final piece for their plans. However, Divi manages to hit the alarms just as Malware looks away, warning that there are intruders. Malware just strikes her in frustration, but the villain team do run off just as guards run in.
Azmuth and his father, followed by Eunice, are quick to check on Divi and the kids, and while Malware left some nasty bruising on Divi, she shrugs it off that she’ll live. Myaxx is frustrated she got taken down, but calms herself when Divi explains what happened and what they did. Azmuth can’t help but feel deeply guilty, as not only did Myaxx and his sister get hurt, but he notices that his nephews were frightened by Malware, to the point that another mechamorph like Eunice makes them nervous. He knows Malware has gone off the deep end, but a part of him still wants to hope that maybe there is a chance to fix his mistakes…
On earth, Ben, Rook, Max, Blukic, Driba and Albedo are called to Galvan Prime after receiving word of the attack. Gwen and Kevin, who had been visiting, especially after hearing about Malware’s return, tag along as well, knowing something big must be about to happen. Gwen and Ben do chat on the way, mostly about what happened in the past and about Feedback, but he shuts her down, especially when noting that Rook tried to join the conversation.
They all arrive on Galvan Prime, meeting up with Azmuth, Myaxx and Eunice, explaining what happened. Rook eventually realises that they managed to sneak onto Galvan Prime thanks to Plumber data they stole from his truck, and it doesn’t take them long to know they must have taken DNA from the Omnivoracious fossil for the nemetrix. With all they know, they can only guess a fight is coming up, but they don’t know when. For now, Ben and the others, even Albedo to a degree, offer their help for the day to make sure the villain trio isn’t still hiding on the planet, and Azmuth agrees.
After they all split off, Azmuth does try and use this as a chance to speak to Albedo, and while he acts coldly towards Azmuth, Albedo for once doesn’t outright tell him to leave him alone. They chat about a few simple things for a bit, mostly how Albedo feels about being home and Albedo even asking about his parents, until Azmuth again offers his help for Albedo, but again is turned down. Albedo even snaps a little at Azmuth, saying to him that he thinks the only reason Azmuth wants to help him and Malware still is to feel better about himself. That does make Azmuth pause, and he does admit that deep down that doing so would make him feel better about himself, but he is offering his help to the two because he cares and wants to do the right thing. Azmuth even adds on that Albedo often wonders why he trusts Ben so much, and points out that Ben is the reason Azmuth is even here to offer help, wanting to do the right thing, after giving him hope all those years ago. When Albedo doesn’t reply, Azmuth leaves to give him space, going to visit his sister to think about things.
Meanwhile, while Rook and Ben are scanning one room together, Rook finally gets Ben to explain the parts of his and Malware’s history he didn’t before, including what happened to Feedback. Ben also explains why he hates losing, and struggles to move on from it, because he can’t handle the things he loses from it, even explaining to Rook about things like Aggregor, Pierce and a few other times he’s lost. After listening, Rook decides to tell him about why he joined the Plumbers, one of those reasons being Ben himself, and about the other people he’s inspired back home, or others in Plumber school Rook met. Rook explains to Ben that despite his losses, he always came through in the end, and gave so much back to the galaxy he protects, which surprises Ben, but he thanks Rook for his supporting words.
Eventually, Azmuth leaves his sister and meets up with Blukic and Driba, wanting to discuss some things with them, but are suddenly caught and confronted by Khyber and Psychobos, the latter taunting them and showing off the nemetrix and it’s new predator, the Omnivoracious, to the galvans. Azmuth does admit that what he made is impressive and clever, but also points out that his creation is shallow, due the fact that he didn’t create it for any purpose other than his own ego. But while distracting him, Blukic and Driba manage to send out a signal for Rook and Ben to come help.
Rook and Ben arrive on scene fast, again having to deal with Khyber’s pet, while Azmuth comes up with a plan by making his own whistle with the help of Blukic and Driba to confuse Khyber’s pet. Psychobos gets frustrated, and starts criziting Khyber because of it, causing the man to turn on him, stating that he was the one to get all the DNA they needed. With that distraction, Ben and the others are able to stop Khyber’s pet, catch Psychobos, but Khyber runs away, leaving his pet behind, though stealing the nemetrix for himself later.
Despite caughting one of the villains, and defeating the other’s pet, Azmuth knows too well this isn’t over, given they haven’t seen Malware. And just as he points it out, the moon and mechamorph home planet explodes, Malware having used the Helix to cause such destruction, along with raining parts of himself across Galvan Prime to infect it.
Everyone heads outside, needing to deal with the Malware chunks, which are corrupting anything made out of tech, along with hurting people. But while doing so, Malware reforms, now bigger and stronger, confronting Ben, Rook, Albedo and Azmuth, mostly arguing with Azmuth and how he will take away everything he loves, just so he feels pain just like him. Azmuth once again pleads with him that he can help, but Malware again denies it and tries to strike Azmuth, only for Ben to jump in the way, transforming and brawling with Malware, which produces a destructive fight. Rook takes Azmuth to safety, while Albedo runs off in the opposite direction.
During the fight, Malware yells at Ben with utter hatred, about how Azmuth sees him as perfect, and only sees Malware as a mistake. Ben tries to argue, but the fight is overwhelming, especially since Malware takes note that Ben is still afraid to fight him, Malware trying to get close enough to again take away one of Ben’s aliens. And just as he’s about to do so with Humungousaur, Eunice and Myaxx appear and narrowly save Ben, who is briefly knocked out due Malware’s corruption attempt. The two carry him onto a ship that everyone else is on, minus Albedo who is still missing, and they wait for Ben to awake.
When he does, Azmuth, Blukic and Driba explain what’s happened entirely. Malware’s broken parts are now trying to reach the core of Galvan Prime, which is something they can not let him do. There are firewalls, but they are damaged and need to be repaired, so a plan is made. Blukic, Driba, Max and Rook will deal with the firewall, Gwen, Eunice and Azmuth will go to Galvan B remains and try to find the helix, while Myaxx, Kevin and Ben will need to distract Malware long enough for them all to get their jobs done. While nervous, Ben knows there is no backing down now.
Everyone splits off, with Ben shaping into Waybig for his fight with Malware, as Kevin and Myaxx provide support down below with weapons, and making sure civilians aren’t in danger. Though Kevin does get briefly distracted by Khyber’s pet, who annoyingly bites his leg, but after saving the animal from rubble, she becomes quite loyal to Kevin, being the first person to treat her with kindness.
While Azmuth and the others find the helix, and Blukic and Driba fixing the firewall, Ben and Malware have a massive throw down, Ben giving it his all and Malware taunting him every step of the way, knowing Ben can’t outmatch him. Still struggling with the weight of losses he’s had throughout the years, Malware does start overwhelming him, saying that it is Azmuth’s fault he will lose again. However, the firewall suddenly kicks up, keeping Malware out of the core, much to Ben’s joy. So out of anger, Malware decides to instead absorb Ben entirely, instead of just one alien, with Myaxx and Kevin watching in dismay.
Inside Malware, Ben starts having visions based on memories from the past, the main one being what Azmuth said to him about losing. He is suddenly confronted by his child self, asking if he hates him, which makes Ben hesitate when looking at his younger self. He thinks to himself, recalling the things that Rook said to him about how he might lose, but he still gives and gains a lot more than he realises. He understands he can not let Malware win, can not let him take anymore, and that he has to accept the losses that have happened already. Just as he makes amends with his younger self, he hears Azmuth’s voice through the omnitrix, who explains that while Ben denied this years ago, if thinks it’s time he receives it back, the omnitrix lighting up to show he can now turn into Feedback again. With confidence back, Ben turns into his old alien form.
Just as Malware is about to destroy the city out of anger, Feedback suddenly rips out of him, escaping Malware’s clutches and surprising him. Ben meets up with everyone else, Azmuth having a repaired helix now. Ben looks to Azmuth, noticing a look in the man’s eyes, and gives Ben a nod, telling him to finish this, even if it means death. After a moment, Ben nods, using Feedback’s powers to combine with the helix. Malware realises what is happening and charges forward, but it’s too late, Ben using the energy of Feedback and the helix to destroy Malware once and for all. Azmuth looks away quietly as this happens.
And then, the fight is over, Ben shaping back to human and feeling quite exhausted. Everyone celebrates with cheers, Azmuth even offering a smile, but remaining quiet still. He then turns to the galvans and mechamorphs, saying now it’s time for a clean up and for files to be written. Ben glances at Azmuth, knowing that stopping Malware was hard, and offers him a reassuring look, but allows him space, knowing he needs it.
Elsewhere, from a distance, Albedo had watched the whole thing while hiding, surprised they managed to win. He looks at everyone celebrating, happy to still be alive, and feels empty inside. He still feels conflicted with himself, but doesn’t have the energy or courage to go back, ready to run again. Until Khyber pops up and approaches him. Albedo is wary, but Khyber shows him the nemetrix, now needing someone else to work on it since Malware and Psychobos are gone. He plays on Albedo’s conflicted turmoil, telling him this may be his last change to prove he was right, that he doesn’t need Azmuth and the others, that he is better than them, and Albedo agrees, the two walking off to escape.
Ben and the others start packing up to leave, Kevin adopting Khyber’s pet, naming her Zed and Gwen finding her adorable. Ben takes a moment to quietly chat with Azmuth, knowing things regarding this Malware business is finally over, and if he’ll be alright. Azmuth says he will need time, but he has learnt to move on in life, thankful that at least his family, Myaxx, Max, Eunice and Ben are alright at least. He also mentions that he is proud that Ben manages to win, despite all that held him back, wishing him luck on his next adventure, while Ben thanks him for that lesson all the way back when he was 11, and for giving him Feedback again. The two part ways, heading to their respective homes. Ben and the others also seeing the mechamorphs caught in the blast awake and alive, already working on fixing their home planet.

Hello! Considering how Celestialsapien's in your version of things can be any shape and Alien X looks humanoid because that's what Ben subconsciously wants: Does the same go for Goop? Like the anti-gravity conductor-thingy makes Goop semi-humanoid for the same reason that Alien X is human-shaped? 'Cause Goop is literal slime. He can go from a puddle to anything else. (And the Omniverse Fusions usually have Goop in the shape of the other component alien).
Yes! Goop is very similar, as his species comes in different sizes, shapes, colours, even using different anti-gravity devices between them to keep themselves together. In the rewrite, Gluto from Secrets Of The Omnitrix is the same species as Goop, so you can use him as an example of how different they can look. I imagine when a baby is born, they are constantly shaping around, with no proper idea what they want to be, but as they grow up eventually pick a basic shape as their 'normal' look. Though you most likely still get some who are almost always changing at random, for the fun of it or perhaps something more personal. They're a rather flexible species, always moving, always changing.

Since you all asked for it, here is the rewrite of the Rooter Arc! Including a few notes of their build up and everything. I have to admit that this was kind of a fun rewrite to do, as the Rooters had some interesting ideas behind them, if you remove the retcon stuff they do. But I hope you enjoy my take on this arc, given a lot of you didn't like it just like me.
Tumblr media
-Rooters’ History-
Over the many years that the Plumbers began to form, it became apparent that they needed a side group to deal with more darker tasks, a black ops. After much discussion, the Rooters were formed, which are a series of black ops groups that settle camp in different locations across the galaxy. These groups tend to be small, but heavily skilled, and answer to only Magistratas/Magistratus, who are the highest members of Plumbers, leading different sections of them throughout the galaxy.
One group of Rooters was placed in the Null Void, and watched over a Magistrata called Emera. This group consisted of four members. The leader Servantis, who is a Uxorite, Swift the Aerophibian, Leander the Appoplexian, and Zyme the Polymorph. Most of their tasks involved dealing with certain problems in the Null Void.
Servantis’s team spent years working like normal, following orders, and striving to do what was needed to get the job done. However, things would begin to change when crossing paths with Ben Tennyson, all starting after one mission where they were tasked to find a young mutated Kevin in the Null Void.
Once they found Kevin, they managed to catch him and bring him to earth to be helped. However, Servantis took notice of the boy’s mutations, and later on found out about the story behind Ben Tennyson and the Omnitrix. And something didn’t sit right with him.
They had also found Phil, who already seemed to be tampered with by Malware, Khyber and Dr. Psychobos. The Rooters decided to keep him around, especially after hearing about how he got to the Null Void in the first place.
On the side he began to keep an eye on Ben, who at the time was dealing with Malware, and then later Zs'Skayr. He researched what he could find on the boy and the watch, not liking the idea a child held such a tool. He did make a comment to Magistrata Emera if they should do something, but she said that Azmuth was the one to decide such a thing, and they are not able to disagree with the First Thinker for many reasons. So, Servantis stayed quiet.
He eventually stopped worrying as much when Ben decided to take off the watch, but kept an ear out after learning Azmuth let him keep it. As long as Ben didn’t put the watch back on, Servantis would be fine with Ben.
For the next few years, the Rooters somewhat forgot about the whole thing, caught up in work again, until the Highbreed and DNAlien stuff began rolling in. They were, of course, tasked with helping out where they could, mostly making sure the Highbreed don’t make any appearances in the Null Void.
One day a Highbreed does appear in the Null Void, having wandered near the base. They learn from it that it got trapped here because of Max, the man having used a faulty Null Void Projector. After capturing the Highbreed and sending them off to be questioned, the Rooters inform the Plumbers that Max is alive, and somewhere in the Null Void. They are tasked to go find him, which Servantis and Swift do.
While searching for him, they end up running into Ben, who got caught up in the Null Void by accident. The two, especially Servantis, are surprised to see Ben, and with the watch on again, having been too busy to hear the news beforehand. While unsure of him, they do let Ben join them in finding Max, given Ben eagerly wanted to join when hearing his grandpa was alive.
Servantis learnt a bit more about Ben that day, in both asking the boy questions, and seeing him and the watch in action. After helping find Max and bringing them both home, Servantis decides to go back to his research on Ben. Learning about new things he has done since getting the watch, including a certain story about Alien X’s debut…
As Ben gets involved with more stories and villains, like Aggregor, Dagon, Forever Knights, Servantis records down anything they find on him, and see him do. The Rooters even got involved during the Ultimate Kevin situation, being tasked with finding him once, and another time trying to kill him. The sight of Kevin's mutations, stories about Alien X and the Celestialsapiens, Servantis starts to fear Ben. Not feeling right about this, he decides something must be done, and thus begins to make his plans that take over a year and a half to make.
Meanwhile, Ben has made a few comments about the Rooters to others here and there, not believing the Plumbers should have a black ops team. But he doesn’t speak about the topic much.
Eventually, the Rooters get everything they need, and wait for Ben to get back from his adventures from the Anur System to make their move...
-Rooters Arc-
After the exhausting events of the Anur System and dealing with Zs'Skayr, Ben returns home with Rook and his small team to take some time off to relax. Ben is still recovering from his encounter with Zs'Skayr, since it always leaves him feeling off. At the very least Anur Aliens are now learning to move away from their old leader, and may be willing to make some agreements with the Plumbers.
While on break, Ben tries to spend some time with Kai, since the two got together right before he left for the Anur System. And things...don’t go entirely well. It’s clear to most that their relationship isn’t really working out, as the two originally got together due to feeling so lonely in their romantic life. While it’s clear they can make good friends, they’re not amazing when it comes to being girlfriend and boyfriend, but both are too scared to say anything about it.
Trying to distract himself, he finds that Gwen and Kevin are visiting Bellwood during a college break, and Ben is eager to spend time with them, and Rook. The Plumber Kids even join in, as they too are treating themselves to a break from work. The teens chat about some of their old adventures, sharing some stories with Rook.
However, after a few days of resting, Ben starts to feel like something is off. For starters, he knows he can be a bit clumsy and forgetful, but for some reason things around him seem to be going missing, misplaced, or moved ever so slightly. It’s not strange enough to seem like something is wrong, as everyone tells Ben, but he can’t help but feel like something is going on. Doesn’t help when he starts to get headaches, random spikes of dizziness, and just feeling unwell in general. Many suggest he’s getting sick, and he agrees, though his gut is telling him otherwise.
The illness doesn’t seem to go away when he gets back into doing some missions, the worst part being it comes and goes at random times at the start. Though eventually it starts to stick and he begins to feel awful all the time, no matter what he does. Rook and some others eventually convince Ben to go home and rest, despite his arguments.
His friends visit him here and there, like Kevin and Gwen, and while Ben does raise concerns if this is a flu or not, they tell him to rest up for a bit and to wait and see what happens. If it gets worse, then they’ll do something about it. Kai also visits, and the two do have a nice moment together, just talking about life and how times have changed.
Things suddenly take a turn one day when Ben leaves his room for a minute, only to come back and see a white Polymorph woman, dripping an unknown liquid into his drink. Ben panics, and transforms to fight her, the two briefly brawling before she manages to run off. Unnerved by what happened, and Max showing up after Sandra and Carl called him during the fight, Ben takes his drink and heads off to the Plumbers with Max, needing to understand what just happened.
After explaining what he saw, Ben is told to wait as Max talks to the Plumbers, also waiting for Blukic and Driba to learn what was placed in Ben’s drink. Still feeling sick, Ben sits around, and is eventually found by Rook, Gwen, Kevin, Kai and the Plumberkids, asking what was going on. Ben explains to them, and tells them that he thinks he’s been being watched ever since he got back from the Anur System, likely someone else out to kill him or take the watch.
However, midway through their conversation, a strange looking device drops down in the middle of them, bursting into a quick portal that takes Ben, Kevin and the Plumber Kids away, leaving behind Rook, Gwen and Kai in surprise. Other Plumbers come after hearing what happened, and everyone begins to panic over what just happened.
Ben, Kevin and the Plumber Kids find themselves in the Null Void, eventually greeted by the Rooters, minus Swift. Ben quickly points out that the Polymorph with them is the same one who attacked him, along with remembering the Rooters back during the Highbreed issue. Kevin also recognizes them faintly from when he had been mutated as a kid. Servantis, annoyed that Kevin and the others are here too, tries to play things off at first, telling the group they’ll take them home. Zyme even tried to explain that she was watching over Ben, being tasked by the Plumbers to watch out for him as there appeared to be someone after him. However, it doesn’t take long for Ben to realise that it must be them, and a fight breaks out between both sides. Despite there only being three Rooters at the time, they are quite hard to fight, and the teens have to run off when Ben’s illness appears to be getting worse.
The teens manage to lose them, but get caught up in the dangers of the Null Void, doing their best to protect themselves, and Ben. Getting suspicious, Ben tries to ask the Omnitrix what’s wrong with him, but gets no response. After looking over the watch, he finds a tiny little chip attached to it, some kind of bugging device that, while couldn’t do anything massive to the watch, appeared to keep it’s healthy scans offline. With that gone, the Omnitrix explains that Ben is not ill, instead poisoned.
Meanwhile, back at Plumber base, Blukic and Driba also learn about the poison through their scans on Ben’s drink. They discover it’s a very toxic poison found in the Null Void, one that could kill a human easily. Only reason Ben is still alive is because of the watch, the Omnitrix fighting against the poison, but even it is so potent that it can still make Ben sick. While that is found, the Plumbers are checking the security systems to figure out what happened, and while most of the video footage is corrupt, they are able to restore enough of it to see it was a Null Void bomb that struck them, though they have no idea who threw it.
With this info, different Plumber groups set out to head into the Null Void in different locations of it, due to not knowing exactly where Ben and the others are. Rook, Gwen and Kai go too, with Gwen planning to use her tracking spell to find them. The Plumbers also inform the Rooters, who play along and pretend like they’re helping, but knowing full well they are running out of time to complete their plan.
Kevin eventually finds his group a safe place to hide and rest, the team discussing what to do. They know enough that the Rooters are after Ben, most likely to kill him, and given how they are trying to be secretive, will most likely kill the others so people don’t know the truth. They start to make plans, including the idea of finding the Rooter’s base, knowing full well it will have a way home. However, an argument breaks out between Kevin and Ben when it comes to the idea of the Plumbers having a black ops team. Ben says the Plumbers shouldn’t need them, and are far better off without them, but Kevin actually disagrees. He knows that sometimes you have to do shady and unpleasant things in this world to help, even admitting that he doesn’t blame the Rooters or the Plumbers for trying to kill him when he went rogue after the Aggregor thing. The two can’t seem to agree on how to view this, while the Plumber Kids stay out of it due to it not being their place to make such a call. This whole thing leaves a bitter feeling on both Kevin and Ben.
Gwen, Kai, Rook and their team arrive, with Gwen already starting her magic. It’s not easy though, due to how the Null Void functions. Her location spell is wonky with the environment, but she gets a faint trail they can start following.
Meanwhile, at the Rooter base, Swift arrives back and learns what’s going on from Servantis, him also being mad she used the Null Void bomb on others who weren’t Ben. Servantis thinks things over, and eventually has it that Zyme and Swift should head out to find the group, while Servantis, Leander and a crazed Phil wait at base, knowing this would be the only place for them to go to.
Back with Kevin, Ben and the Plumber kids, Kevin and Ben talk again after calming down. They open up a bit, with Ben explaining to Kevin that while he remade the universe, something the world knows after the Celestialsapiens basically announced it, he admits that not everything is the same. He couldn’t make a perfect copy, and one difference that has hurt him was Kevin and Gwen leaving so suddenly. He knows he can’t be mad with them since it was a change he ended up creating, but he can’t help but be upset over it. Kevin himself talks about how this hiding place was an area he found when trapped in the Null Void, and talking about how scary it was to be alone in a place like this. After reconnecting, Kevin makes a comment saying he promises to get Ben out of here safely, no matter what it takes. Though Ben does beg Kevin to not absorb DNA from the watch if it ever comes down to it, not wanting a repeat after the Aggregor arc. He admits he’d rather die to a villain than let Kevin be harmed like that again, and while Kevin doesn’t feel comfortable with that, he agrees not to pull that move ever again.
Swift suddenly appears, but the group narrowly hides from her. Thinking that all the Rooters are out looking, they figure that this is their chance to go to their base, and find the portal back home. As they begin to head out, the Plumber Kids chat with Ben as well, having heard him talking about how lonely he’s been feeling. They apologise for not making enough time for him anymore, though Ben also admits he understands their work comes first, and the group agree to just a little bit harder to have quality time together.
Back at Plumber base, Blukic and Driba are looking over the video footage, regarding the Null Void Bomb. They end up analyzing it, and spotting something in it, that being the dark figure of Swift, and more noticeably her Rooter symbol in a few frames. Finally piecing together what is going on, the two Galvans rush off to find a certain someone.
Gwen, Kai, Rook and their team find the hiding area Ben and the others just were, knowing they are close. Gwen is doing her best to stay calm, but her anxieties are getting a little much for her, wanting to make sure Kevin and Ben are ok. Kai and Rook support her as best as they can, wanting the others to be safe too.
Eventually, Ben and the group arrive at the Rooter Base, at first thinking they’re alone as the place seems shut off. However, just as they step far enough into it, everything switches on, including the security system that already targets them, and when Servantis, Leander and Phill appear, the team has to split off in the end. Helen with Manny and Alan, Cooper with Kevin, and Ben with Lucy.
Cooper and Kevin end up having to face Leander, the quiet and calm Appoplexian who proves to be a challenge to fight. He even manages to use his wrist blades to cut two slices down Kevin’s chin, most likely going to leave a scar.
Manny, Helen and Alan end up having to fight Phil, who goes full beast mode as it appears he’s no longer himself. Instead now a mesh between his monster side, and his human side.
Ben and Lucy end up having to face Servantis, but due to Ben’s illness he falls pretty quickly. Lucy does her best to defend Ben, even shapeshifting to look like him to draw Sevantis away, but she is unable to outsmart the Rooter leader. Lucy is taken down, while Servantis takes Ben.
While dragging Ben with him, Ben starts to question what Servantis is planning, why he is doing this. Servantis explains that he sees Ben and the watch as a danger, a problem that if left on it’s own, could mean the end of their world. Ben tries to counter this, saying he’s a hero, but Servantis points out that he literally remade the world, and while Ben has his reasons, it’s enough to showcase that if Ben wants to, he can make other changes with the click of his fingers. Even mentioning Dagon, who almost swayed Ben into using his power to wipe out all evil. Servantis simply can not trust Ben, and must do what he thinks is best for the universe. And since he knows he will not be able to convince the Plumbers or Azmuth, then he has to get rid of Ben himself. In Servantis’s mind, he thinks he’s protecting the world from the true threat, Ben Tennyson.
Meanwhile, Helen, Manny and Alan manage to finally bring down Phil, just in time as Lucy wanders in, wounded as she frantically explains that Servantis has Ben. Knowing this can’t end well, they quickly rush off to find him, or the others.
Elsewhere, Kevin and Cooper are unable to beat Leander, being backed into a corner, when suddenly Gwen and the others arrive, coming in to save them. After Gwen freaks a little over Kevin’s wound, and him saying he’s alright, they all calm a little as Kevin and Cooper explain the truth behind what’s going on. Just as they finish, the others run in and explain that Ben and Servantis are somewhere together, and they all band together to go find them before it’s too late.
Servantis takes Ben to a room he’s been preparing for years, having created a massive machine that he’s built to not only destroy Ben, but also the watch, knowing full well that the little device he has will try and keep him alive, and is powerful in it’s own right. Ben tries to stall him, along with saying that he can’t break the omnitrix, but deep down he is scared that Servantis might actually win. Though just as he’s about to toss Ben into the machine, everyone else busts in, Kevin right away diving forward and smacking Servantis away, saving Ben.
Not willing to give up, Servantis starts up his security drones and machines, along with Swift and Zyme showing up to join the fight, both sides throwing down. Ben even joins in, as while he still feels awful, he doesn’t want to feel so weak and helpless.
The battle is long, brutal, and rough, both sides throwing nasty shots, the few Plumbers that came with Gwen having been killed too. But with teamwork, use of powers, and some leadership from both Kevin and Ben, they are able to back the Rooters into a corner, Kevin and Ben boxing in Servantis.
Servantis knows he has lost, but still coldy speaks his thoughts about Ben, saying he’s no hero, that he will be the villain they’ll all fear one day. Ben, having had a crap time for the past few weeks, the illness flaring his emotions, and Servantis’s words digging away at him, briefly snaps. He turns into Alien X, threatening to wipe Servantis from existence after everything he has done. Servantis even seems to want Ben to do it, as it would prove his point that Ben is a danger, with powers he should not have. But Kevin steps in, facing Alien X with no hesitation as he tells Ben to stop, knowing this isn’t him, nor what he wants to do. He tells Ben that he gets it, having all this power, wanting to use it all to get back at people, he’s been there. But just because he can, doesn’t mean he should, and that Ben is far better than this behavior, far better than Kevin ever was. And...it’s enough to make Ben stop, the hero changing back and stepping away.
Servantis goes to do something, but is stopped when Blukic and Driba arrive, along with Magistrata Emera, her presence being enough to stop them all. She calls the Rooters off, and explains how angry she is over their betrayal, and wants the entire team arrested. Other Plumbers arrive, and take the Rooters away to be dealt with, and Phil to be checked over due to his mutations. Magistrata Emera apologizes to Ben, admitting she should have been keeping a closer eye on the Rooters, and promises to never let this happen again. Kevin steps in, wanting a word with her, and explains that while he agrees with the Rooter idea, they should switch out members with new ones, to allow less corruption over time. She agrees to Kevin’s idea, and later will ask him to be the overseer of the Null Void Rooter group in the future.
Ben is cured from the poison, recovering back home as he thinks about the whole thing. He begins to question the use of Alien X, and whether Servantis was right or not. Ben does have a lot of power to do things, and he knows he’s not using all of it, fearing he’ll go mad with power, or make the wrong move with it one day. His friends come and visit him, and they talk to him about this problem, telling Ben that they trust him to make the right calls. Ben also reflects on his actions over the year so far, in how he’s been running from so much, and dealing with denial...knowing that soon, he has to stop running, and start facing what he’s been trying to avoid one day.

Here is my first part of the Malware Arc rewrite, which is basically centered around those Omniverse episodes that took place between the Original and Alien Force. I defiantly feel like there is a lot you could have played around with this angle, especially the whole "Why did Ben take off the watch?" so I hope you enjoy what I have to share. I'll try and get the other half out as soon as I can. 💚
Tumblr media
-Malware’s Debut-
Ben and Gwen are now eleven, and Max is planning another road trip for this year’s summer.
Ever since the events of Secrets Of The Omnitrix and Destroy All Aliens, Azmuth has been getting more involved in Ben’s journey of a hero's life here and there. So Ben, Max and Gwen visit from time to time by calling Azmuth to teleport in when needing help.
After the roadtrip last year, a new proper Plumber Base has been placed on earth. Originally, the Galactic Plumbers didn’t have a big earth base due to low alien activity, but due to Ben’s encounters from last year, they put in the time and resources to establish a proper base now.
While the new base was being made, Max contacted the nearest Magistrata in his area, and managed to get a favour from her. He asked her to use the Black Ops team, The Rooters, who are located in the Null Void, to find Kevin and Phil, wanting to make things right with them.
The Rooters find Kevin, who is still mutated and struggling with his mental state because of it. The leader, Servantis, takes notice of the mutations, knowing they came from Ben and the Omnitrix. He is unsettled by it, but they capture Kevin and hold him for a bit, before handing him over to the earth Plumbers when their base can hold him, and begin doing what they can to help him. Phil, however, has not been found yet.
Since having settled back into Galvan Prime, reconnecting with his family a bit, Azmuth has branched out with his assistants. He still has Myaxx, but also accepted a Galvanic Mechamorph as his bodyguard named Eunice, and an apprentice named Albedo.
A month before Ben’s second road trip, Azmuth is making upgrades to the Helix. However, something goes wrong and Malware is born from it, broken and in pain, his emotions haywire. Because Azmuth has been doing his best to better himself, he was quick to offer his help.
Sometime early on in Ben’s road trip, he unlocks the alien Feedback through Azmuth. Happy to have a new member of the team, Ben is noticeably developing some kind of deeper connection to the Omnitrix, so Max and Azmuth keep an eye on that.
Albedo, who is working under Azmuth still, helping with trying to repair Malware, is having issues with feeling like he’s not good enough for Azmuth, having never handled proper criticism in his life before. Often butting heads with Ben, Myaxx and Eunice, along with debating with Azmuth with the idea of letting a human child have the Omnitrix. But he still respects Azmuth enough to follow under him.
However, so far nothing seemed to be helping Malware, who is growing more impatient and twitchy due to his broken form. Azmuth is struggling too, for he does not want to let down another person he has hurt.
On earth, Max takes the kids to the Plumber base in Mount Rushmore, to showcase that operations on earth are now becoming a proper thing. Now some Plumber agents pop up on the road trip to aid Ben and the others, and take care of more dangerous criminals.
Max also shows the kids that they found Kevin, and while their old foe is angry with them, Ben and Gwen are thankful he is finally getting help, and briefly manage to reach out to Kevin, before he pushes them away again.
After a little fight on earth, the watch is damaged, so they go to Galvan Prime to fix it, though Azmuth takes a bit to see them, deep into some research into helping Malware. As the Tennysons patiently wait, Ben does ask what is going on, and while Albedo tries to dismiss him, Azmuth explains he is trying to help someone he hurt.
As Azmuth takes a break, fixing the watch two, Malware suddenly storms in, having reached a breaking point of losing his patients. He demands something from Azmuth know, and both him and Albedo end up revealing by mistake that they were in the middle of making an upgrade piece for the Helix to try and fix Malware. Having had enough, he kidnaps Albedo and the Helix part to try and fix himself, despite Azmuth pleas and warnings.
The Tennysons, Eunice, Myaxx and Azmuth chase after Malware, finding him trying to use Albedo and the Helix, along with having nearly drained the life out of many Galvanic Mechamorphs. Azmuth wants to chase after and plead with Malware, desperate to not fail someone again, but Max convinces him that he, Myaxx and Eunice need to tend to the injured Mechamorphs before severe damage is done.
Ben, Max and Gwen head in to deal with Malware, seeing he has forced Albedo into putting the new Helix part into the Helix, and is trying to put all the programming in. The Tennysons start a brawl with Malware, who especially targets Ben when believing he is a project from Azmuth that he actually cares about, despite what Ben tells him otherwise, due to seeing how troubled Azmuth has been over Malware’s situation.
Albedo finishes up his programming, and Malware hijacks the Helix to try and fix himself. As he does so, Albedo reveals he has actually put in a program to try and destroy Malware, and believes he has found a better solution.
However, this does not go as planned, as Malware emerges, now with red highlights, bigger, and new powers, yet even more mentally and emotionally broken. Angry, he sets his sights on Albedo, for daring to try and destroy him, and for making Malware worse.
Ben steps in to defend Albedo, much to the Galvan’s surprise and annoyance, and fights Malware just as Azmuth comes in to see what has happened. Myaxx and Eunice also assist Ben, and corner Malware.
Too angry and frustrated at the whole thing, with broken thoughts and emotions, Malware yells at Azmuth, telling him he can’t trust him and won’t ever accept his help again, even when Azmuth tries and promises him he’ll fix him. When he gets an opening, Malware flees and merges with the ship they got there in, and flies off before anyone can catch him.
Azmuth immediately puts out searches and warnings for people, hoping to track down Malware in hopes to keep his promise. The Tennysons offer their help, but for now Azmuth sends them home to try and enjoy their summer vacation, despite Ben’s protests wanting to stay and help.
While drifting through space, trying to figure out what to do, Malware is tracked down by Dr. Psychobos, who had noticed Malware rushing away from Galvan Prime when spying on his enemies. After hearing Malware’s story, Psychobos is quick to offer an alliance, since the two want to make the Galvans pay, more specifically Azmuth. Malware has given up on the idea of being fixed, and now just wants Azmuth to suffer and feel pain like him, while Psychobos wants to prove he’s smarter, swallowed by his own pride for years. It doesn’t help that most Galvans do have an issue of looking down on other races.
While Ben is having some adventures on earth, Malware and Psychobos begin their plans of making the Nemitrix, a project they hope will help in putting Azmuth in his place. Since Malware has already fought Ben and the Omnitrix, he has enough memorised blueprints in him to at least make a start on it.
Eventually they reach the point they need to start collecting DNA, but wanting it to combat the Omnitrix they decide to go for Predator Aliens, to combat against Ben. After looking through some hireable mercenaries, they eventually meet Khyber, a sadistic hunter of anything he considers his prey, and loves the joy of feeling like the top Predator. Seeing him as the perfect fit, they hire him.
While he does this, Malware eventually has to reveal himself to Ben when needing more blueprints of the watch, and briefly attacks him out of nowhere. While he gets what he wants, the Tennysons do inform Azmuth that Malware appeared, meaning Malware has to be careful not to give his true location away.
Once getting a few DNA samples, and a base form for their Nemitrix, the villain team picks up random test subjects to try it with, a few different alien prisoners from the Null Void, so they’re not just picking up random innocents that will get them noticed. All the tests fail, including Phil who only manages to last a few hours on a test drive against Ben. They come to understand that trying to turn anyone into a feral animal will break their minds, so after some debates, they decide to use Khyber’s current pet he has for the time being.
Phil is tossed back into the Null Void, and eventually found by the Rooters. However, after seeing the state he is in, and thinking about what happened with Kevin and his mutations, they decide to keep Phil around as some ideas start to form, never informing the Plumbers of their findings.
Khyber begins his harsh training on his pet, not wanting any slacking behaviour and wanting to make sure he has full control of his pet, regardless of what it turns into. Despite his treatment, his pet does remain loyal due to fear, and not knowing where else to go.
After their attack from Phil, then his sudden disappearance, Ben thinks back on Kevin. Getting an idea, Ben calls in Azmuth for a favour, and they, along with Max and Gwen, confront a prisoned Kevin.
Wanting to make things right, Ben, with the help of Azmuth, uses the watch to finally turn Kevin back to normal and strip him of all his alien mutations. Kevin, who is surprised yet still angry with Ben, doesn’t know what to say. When debating what to do next with Kevin, thinking of locating his family (mother) they are suddenly attacked by Malware out of nowhere, who upgrades himself with some Plumber tech. During the chaos, Khyber stole DNA from a rare predator the Plumbers were holding for movement, and Kevin escaped and left no trail behind.
After seeing Malware’s attack on the Plumber base, Azmuth sticks with the Tennysons for a while, having a feeling Malware will strike again. It’s a...amusing couple of days in the rustbucket. Azmuth also gets to understand Ben’s connection with the watch better, the boy sharing the idea that each alien form feels like it’s a part of him, something Azmuth notes down for later research.
Azmuth ends up being right, as Malware comes back to get more data on the Omnitrix and a fight breaks out with the Tennysons and Malware. Azmuth brought his own weapons to fight, ones designed against Malware, but he ends up hesitating as he’s afraid of making things worse with Malware. This causes Malware to get the upper hand, and grabs Ben, who was Feedback at the time. With his knowledge on the Omnitrix, Malware rips out Feedback’s form from Ben and destroys it in front of everyone, and taunts he can do it all to the rest. Due to Ben feeling like his forms are a part of him now, this defeat hurt him deeply, and develops quite the fear towards Malware.
In blind anger, Ben shoves a glitching Omnitrix into Malware, and causes an overload that seemingly blows up the villain. In reality, a broken down Malware crawls away when no one is looking, and is later picked up by Khyber, and Psychobos knows it will take a long time for Malware to heal, and that it is best he hides for now, letting everyone believe he is dead.
After the events of what happened, Max ends up cutting the roadtrip short, especially after seeing how down Ben is over the whole thing. They try to comfort him, even Azmuth, who also explains that whatever Malware did to the watch, means it will take quite a while before Feedback can come back. Though Ben rejects the idea, thinking it won’t be the same, while also not wanting to remember his defeat to Malware. After Azmuth leaves him some wise words before going back to Galvan Prime, Ben spends a few days trying to sort himself out, and debating his relationship with the watch and hero side.
-Zs'skayr’s Return-
Trying to help take Ben’s mind off of things, Gwen and other kids, including Cooper, Lucy, even Ken a few times, play around the Bellwood and do normal kid stuff. Originally, Ben would make cracks about how being a hero is more fun, but after what happened, he found that doing normal things helped him forget what happened with Malware most of the time, and even starts ignoring his hero stuff for a while.
Him and Gwen also start hanging out a lot at Camille and Joel’s place, where Lucy lives too, after they moved to Bellwood after their wedding. Camille even becomes Ben’s babysitter.
Of course, things don’t go smoothly forever, as Ben starts to suspect someone is spying on him, getting a nervous feeling. It doesn’t help when strange things start happening around Bellwood, mostly a lot of thieving, but Ben tries not to focus on it, not ready to be a hero again. Besides, it’s just some items going missing, he’s sure the police can handle that.
Eventually, something finally happens on the night of Halloween. Ben and Gwen go trick or treating with Lucy, Camille and Joel, and are having a nice time together. At one point though, Lucy, Ben and Gwen overhear some other kids talking about a haunted house, one that might be hiding real monsters, though most believe it’s just a really well made haunted house. Kids being kids, Ben, Lucy and Gwen sneak away from Camille and Joel to find this house and check it out. It is very creepy, but the kids enter it anyway.
While inside, they wander around the place, trying to prank and scare each other for the fun of it. However, when they travel far enough inside the place, Ben starts to get a strange feeling, like they’re not alone. Before Ben can urge the girls to leave, they are suddenly attacked by Zs'skayr’s henchmen, who all have been stuck on earth since their last battle at NASA. The kids aren’t sure what they’re after, but they try to fight back and make a break back to the exit. He also notes this little rodent alien with them, who seems to have been dragged along, called Argit.
However, just as they’re about to escape, Ben is caught by the minions and dragged back in with the Omnitrix on cooldown. Lucy and Gwen debate on what to do, with them agreeing Lucy goes find Joel and Camille for help, and Gwen runs back in to save Ben.
Ben is taken to the attic of the building, and held there as he tries to get answers from the minions, though they reveal little and seem to be waiting for something. It isn’t until the watch turns to green that Ben realises too late what they are after, as one of the minions switches the watch to Ghostfreak. When the dial is pressed in, Ben doesn’t turn into Ghostfreak, instead Zs'skayr escapes from the watch again, as before he died to manage to hide away in the watch where his DNA sample was.
While Zs'skayr is free and taunting Ben, playing on his fears, Ben learns that the minions had been trying to steal parts to repair their ship, knowing they can’t stay on earth since they’re wanted by the Plumbers. Unfortunately, Bellwood does not have enough resources to fix their ship, and they need better parts.
Before Zs'skayr and his minions can do anything to Ben, Gwen manages to sneak in and get a surprise hit, grabs Ben and the two end up on the roof of the building. They have a brief showdown with Zs'skayr and his minions, before Lucy, Camille and Joel show up to rescue them and scare off the villains.
Ben is quite panicked and scared after this, as not only is he still recovering from what Malware did, but also because Zs'skayr himself is a terrifying foe that always gets under Ben’s skin, and he doesn’t know what to do with him running around. He knows their plans are to just leave earth, but with the Plumbers hunting them that will cause some kind of fight to break out, and even if they leave earth Zs'skayr will come back for Ben, as he enjoys tormenting him and loves the challenge.
Max doesn’t pressure Ben into helping the Plumbers, knowing Ben has been debating his hero role in things, and Ben agrees to stay in Bellwood and do normal things while Max and the Plumbers try to handle this. But deep down, Ben knows he wants to do something, knowing how dangerous Zs'skayr is.
Meanwhile, Zs'skayr and his crew make plans on where to find what’s needed for their ship, including two notes from Zs'skayr that he collected while in the Omnitrix. Since he had been in the watch, he saw what Ben saw, and not only knows the new Plumber base will have some of the core things they need, but also wants to pick up a certain someone to be his new minion for the time being…
That new minion ends up being Kevin, who Zs'skayr tracks down due to Kevin still having a tiny trace of alien DNA in him that hasn’t quite yet vanished, including Zs'skayr’s DNA which allowed him to find the boy. Kevin, at first, declines Zs'skayr offer to help them, especially after being creeped out by the ghost alien, but Zs'skayr manages to play on his anger towards Ben, and notes that Kevin will forever be seen as the bad guy, so why not keep playing that role. So Kevin ends up joining Zs'skayr’s side for the time being, though deep down doubts his choice.
While working for Zs'skayr, Kevin meets Argit, since the two are the only kids on the team, and start chatting and getting along here and there, even if both are jerks sometimes. Argit eventually reveals to him they found him on earth by chance, and since Argit is skilled with crawling into small areas and stealing, they forced him to help them.
Now Zs'skayr and his minions start taking parts and pieces from different places in America to help build their ship, planning for their big raid on the Plumbers each day. The Plumbers do their best to catch them, but are either too slow, or get overpowered.
Max, at one point, has his one on one fight with Zs'skayr, who manages to taunt and get Max nervous when talking about Ben, and how vulnerable he really is, and how Max can’t protect him forever.
Ben, who had been keeping an eye out on everything related to Zs'skayr through the Plumbers and news, knows he has to do something to help, not wanting Zs'skayr to escape and come back one day. He reaches out to Gwen, telling her he’s going to help, and she joins him too, knowing how hard this all is for him. The two cousins rush off to Max, and after some talks he allows them to join.
The Tennysons end up hearing about Zs'skayr’s minions, Viktor and someone unknown, attacking a building for ship parts, and arrive on scene. There they find Viktor, and surprisingly Kevin. A fight breaks out, and at one point Kevin and Gwen are alone together, where she manages to get through to him, telling him that he doesn’t have to be the bad guy anymore, and that they want to help. So by the end of it, just as Viktor is about to strike Gwen during the fight, Kevin comes out of nowhere and saves her by absorbing Viktor’s electricity away. As the other Plumbers arrive on scene, the Tennysons try and convince Kevin to come with them, but he denies their help, though says he won’t be a criminal like this anymore, then running off before they can catch him. He ends up running off to find Argit, and the two start making a plan.
The Tennysons and Plumbers have a few more encounters with Zs'skayr and his crew, before the final raid happens in the Plumber base, needing an energy source from them. Zs'skayr had done enough planning to know how to cause enough chaos to get what he wanted, knowing a straight up fight wouldn’t work, even if they had to battle some people.
However, at one point Ben ends up getting a new transformation, Arctiguana, and this turn of events manages to briefly catch Zs'skayr off guard. His other two minions get picked off as they escape with the power source, but Zs'skayr manages to get out. The Plumbers and Tennysons chase after him.
Just as Zs'skayr makes it to his ship, looking like he has won, someone in the shadows snatches the energy source from in, and after a brief scuffle he finds it to be Argit and Kevin. But before he can do anything, the Plumbers and the Tennysons arrive, and manage to catch Zs'skayr. Surprisingly though, Zs'skayr congratulates Ben for winning again, an eerie smile on him as he says he can’t wait till next time as he’s taken away. As this is happening, Kevin and Argit use the energy source to power the ship, and take off before anyone can stop them, the two making plans to be partners in alien black market business.
With everything finally over, the Tennysons head home where Ben has a long time to think with himself, and after a long debate in his head, he decides he doesn’t want to be a hero anymore, or at least not right now. Malware’s impact on him is still a struggle, and after facing someone like Zs'skayr again, Ben isn’t sure about his placement with the watch anymore, and wants to try being normal again for a bit, needing a break.
After having a long talk with Max, Gwen, and even his parents about it, they agree too, and Ben heads to Galvan Prime to talk to Azmuth. The first thinker understands, and during the process of removing it the two have a quiet chat about things, in regards to Malware, Zs'skayr and the future, and both wishing the other well in whatever happens next.
Azmuth lets Ben keep the Omnitrix, to allow him the choice to ever put it back on if he so wishes to. So Ben heads home, and with a heavy heart he places the Omnitrix away in a box under his bed, and it wouldn’t be until four years later does he put it back on.
He goes back to normal things, like school, sports, hanging out with kids on the street/friends, and even briefly meets the new girl on Lucy’s street who just moved in, called Julie, who he starts to see during tennis training at school the same time he picks up soccer after Ken takes him to his training.

What's the next arc you're rewriting?
With the voting system, the next will be Alien Swarm. Which makes sense, given the last one was the previous Ben 10 live action film.
Unlike Race Against Time, which was a fusion of the film and one of the series episodes, Alien Swarm will most likely still keep the same basic plot concept, but reworked and added onto to polish it up. Hoping to get around to it next months, but we'll see.

Are you rewriting your favorite arc and if so what is it?
A very interesting question, as I've never thought about what was my favourite arc. After thinking about it, I have to say it's most likely the Highbreed Arc, as there were many ideas and elements there I enjoyed, and it was amazing to watch it unfold as a kid.
In terms of notes I have on what's being changed so far. These are some things I have written down.
The Kevin, Gwen and Ben trio takes a bit longer to get along. Now it's not them bashing on each other every single scene, but rather there is still tension between the cousins against Kevin, who in turn still has unsolved feelings with them. But at the same time, you can tell the three want to get along, want to move on, it just takes a bit to do so. I do imagine that, while she has her own problems with it, Gwen would be the middle ground between Ben and Kevin since they argue the most. This would also be the first step towards the Gwen and Kevin romantic relationship, going from working together, to friends, to falling for each other throughout the Highbreed arc, and the start around the next arc, being Vilgax's Return.
Definitely would have a few more characters involved, or already existing characters more time to shine. E.g Xylene would be helping out Max when he's originally on the run, but the two get separated when he seemingly 'dies'. Meanwhile, the Plumberkids would get some more focus and growth, with Ben getting more time to showcase how he's a leader to them. You'd also get more on the Plumbers themselves, who are busy trying to figure out what the Highbreed are doing, since it's not just earth they'd messing with. Oh, and Lucy would also be part of the Plumberkids, to give her more screentime and because I feel she fits right in with the team.
There would definitely be a heavy focus on Ben trying to be a leader and rejoining the hero thing, more so than what the show did, as he begins to realise he can't always rely on Max and other mentors all the time, and that he's growing up and needs to start making better choices. Something that clings to him through almost the entire series.
I would be reframing how the Highbreeds would, in terms of their hierarchy. I would want to put focus on the council being the main evil, and not all Highbreeds, so that when they change sides and overthrow the council, it doesn't feel like everything has been forgiven so easily. The main idea would be that the council not only think that they are the best, but are also aware of their declining numbers, and so use fear, twisted truths, and some lies to scare the rest of their kind into doing their plans. So for someone like Reiny, he may still act cruel to outsiders, but to him, it's because of years of manipulation from his own rulers, and the fear of dying out with his own people.
Reiny would also get a little more, so that his sudden appearance at the end doesn't feel like he came out of nowhere. Not sure how yet, but he would get a wee bit more screentime.
There would be episodes that still hint to things to come, like Paradox's debut, Alien X showing up briefly, the Forever Knights being built up for their Dagon arc, and exploring ideas and elements such as Anodites, Apotrodites, characters like Mike, Julie, Charmcaster, Hex and Albedo. Even things like Osmosian, since I've got some ideas there.
You'd also start to get a proper focus on what Ben, Kevin, Gwen and even Julie's main arcs will be for the rest of the series. Ben has a few, like learning what he has to sacrifice to be a hero. Is he human, alien or something else? Should he handle things on his own or with a team. Kevin would be about his history as a villain, of course, but also more about his Osmosian background, and how he's always felt like he can't connect with earth and often feels like running. Gwen would be focused on the fact she's only half-human, that the universe is vast and big, and she's clinging to the idea of wanting to stay human, but can't. Plans she originally made don't seem to work now that you know how big the world really is, and the things you can do. Julie's whole thing would be that she's struggling to keep up, as while at the start she was keen to learn and join in, even accepting Ben and the Omnitrix, she finds herself slowing down over UAF because she doesn't know how to keep up with everyone. And given how normal she is compared to the group, she struggles to take in so much of the alien stuff all at once, and doesn't know how to pace herself. It's not that she doesn't want earth to progress into the galaxy life, but there's only so much you can take in so little time.
Babychills are still a thing, and Ben does later find them either later in the arc, or in the next arc. But they are coming back!
This would also be when you start to see signs of the watch evolving on it's own, or at least getting new interesting upgrades, and digging into just how connected Ben is with the watch and the aliens.
Tetrax and Azmuth come back to join the fight, and mentor Ben in their own way with Max.
I also want to make a contrast with Ben and young Ben in that while young Ben always wanted to go for something like Fourarm, teen Ben starts playing smartly with his watch, and being more diverse in what he picks as he starts to understand each alien is needed, and each provides something different for him.
Ben would still get cocky after beating the Highbreed, because he's a teenager that just saved the galaxy. But it wouldn't be over the top, and the Vilgax arc next would definitely be about him learning to handle that ego of his.

"You can't protect them forever, Tennyson...." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I promised I'd draw Ben in the new Ascalon Armor, so here ya go! This is basically when he finally catches Dagon in the sword, but due to quite literally holding the demon's cage, it gave Dagon a chance to try and pressure Ben into either letting out him, or using his powers. He preys on Ben's fear of failing everyone, unable to protect them, even using Pierce's death's to taunt him. And Ben's friends and allies can't help him by getting close, as they know it's up to Ben and his willpower to beat Dagon's mind games.... Can read about the Dagon Rewrite Arc here ---> https://ben-101-rewrite.tumblr.com/post/653323148057559040/right-so-heres-my-rewrite-of-the-dagon-arc-of
