i would like to confess my sins.
As a young 10 year old, my parents bought me the divergent series before the Hunger Games, so needless to say, i was a divergent nerd first
Obviously, when I turned twelve and read the Hunger games and began to understand what good world building looks like, I denounced the divergent ways.
That doesn't mean I am not still embarrassed over the fact that at some point, I thought divergent was peak literature

Chronicon Romualdi II, archiepiscopi Salernitani, p. 16
Beatrice was born around 1135 in the county of Rethel (northern France) from Gunther (also know as Ithier) de Vitry, earl of Rethel, and Beatrice of Namur.
On her mother’s side, Beatrice descended from Charlemagne (through his son, Louis the Pious), while on the paternal side she was a grandniece of Baldwin II King of Jerusalem (her paternal grandmother Matilda, titular Countess of Rethel, was the King’s younger sister). The Counts of Rethel were also vassals of the powerful House of Champagne, known for its successful marriage politics (Count Theobald IV of Blois-Champagne’s daughter, Isabelle, would marry in 1143 Duke Roger III of Apulia, eldest son of King Roger II of Sicily).
In 1151, Beatrice married this same Roger. The King of Sicily was at his third marriage at this point. His first wife had been Elvira, daughter of King Alfonso VI the Brave of León and Castile and of Galicia, who bore him six children (five sons and one daughter). However, when four of his sons (Roger, Tancred, Alphonse and the youngest, Henry) died before him, leaving only William as his heir, Roger II must have feared for his succession. In 1149, the King then married Sibylla, daughter of Duke Hugh II of Burgundy. She bore him a son, Henry (named after his late older brother), and two years later died of childbirth complications giving birth to a stillborn son. As this second Henry died young too, Roger thought about marrying for a third (and hopefully last) time.
It is possible that Roger’s choice of his third wife had been influenced by the future bride’s family ties with the Crusader royalties as Beatrice was related with both Queen Melisende of Jerusalem and the Queen’s niece Constance of Hauteville, ruling Princess of Antioch. Constance was also a first cousin once removed of Roger, who had (unsuccessfully) tried to snatch the Antiochian principality from her when her father Bohemond II was killed in battle 1130, leaving his two years old daughter as heir.
Beatrice bore Roger only a daughter, Constance, who was born in Palermo on November 2nd 1154. This baby girl (who would one day become Queen of Sicily) never knew her father as he died on February 26th.
Nothing certain is known about her widowed life, although we can suppose she took care of her only daughter. Beatrice died in Palermo on March 30th 1185, living enough to see  Constance being betrothed to Emperor Frederick Barbarossa’s son, Henry.
The body of the Dowager Queen was laid to rest in the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene, together with her predecessor, Elvira, and her step-children, Henry, Tancred, Alphonse and Roger. Through her daughter, Beatrice would become Emperor Frederick II’s grandmother.

2 show day- Phantom London 15th July, 2023
This was my last 2 shows with the 2022/23 London cast 🥹
Walked into the theatre today for the afternoon show not knowing who I was seeing other than Ralph Watts as Raoul who I’ve managed to catch an abnormal amount of times considering he’s a second cover! This was the cast board for the show….
Tumblr media
I saw a completely different trio 🤣 I knew Beatrice was definitely not on as I’m sure she was attending Lily de la Haye’s wedding. Anyways I got to see Jon & Holly which is exactly what I’d hoped for!
This was my last time seeing Holly 😫😭 (she wasn’t on for the evening show) and honestly I have had no luck the last year trying to see her I got to see her for a 2 show day in November (coincidentally it was Ralph’s debut) and honestly everytime I saw Holly she got Better and better and today was no exception vocally flawless and she actually reduced me to tears in the final lair today, I am going to miss her incredibly.
It was my second time seeing Jon as the phantom and he was stunning! Again vocally he sounded top form! Really enjoyed his portrayal can’t wait to see more of him especially with the new cast!
Ralph I actually enjoyed SOOOO much more he really has improved a lot, he was so much more gentle with Christine and I could say the Hadley Fraser vibes were almost completely gone! Really happy I got to see him again.
The rest of the principal cast were on today, last time seeing Ellie as Meg after 29 (ish) shows going to be so bizarre going back when she’s not there! April 15 was my last time seeing Matt as Raoul as the last time I went which was in may Ralph was also on! 🤣
I will say this was the SMALLEST CAST IVE EVER SEEN in total there were 12 cast members off. In Don Juan there was 6 people total on stage it was definitely different but didn’t lessen the show one bit!
I then went back for the evening show and saw Paige was on for Christine which was nice as 2 Christine’s in 1 day is always fun and I’ve only ever seen Paige twice before (admittedly I was a little sad that I’d seen my last Holly show 🥹) her portrayal of Christine gets better every time I see her! Vocally still growing but such a joy to watch on stage.
It was also my final time seeing Greg as Piangi too!
Overall I’m going to really miss a lot of the 2022/23 cast as the majority have been with the show since reopening so going to be very strange when they’re not there. Super excited for the new 2023/24 cast though!
Audios are available to trade for both shows today!

Rev. Dr. William J. Simmons was born a slave in Charleston, South Carolina, to Edward and Esther Simmons on June 29, 1849. While William was young, his Mother fled slavery with her three children, William and his two sisters Emeline and Anna. They initially landed in Philadelphia, PA, and was met by an uncle named Alexander Tardiff, who housed them, fed them and educated the children. Due to stemming pressures from slave traders, Tardiff relocated his extended family to Roxbury, Pennsylvania, Chester, PA, and ultimately settled down in Bordentown, New Jersey. Tardiff had received an education from the future Bishop Daniel Payne and undertook to give Simmons and his siblings an education on that basis. From 1862 to 1864 William served as an apprentice to a dentist. He served in the Union Army during the US Civil War, enlisting September 15, 1864 and serving a one-year term. He took part in the siege of Petersburg, the Battle of Hatcher's Run, and the Battle of Appomattox Court House and was present at the surrender of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. After the war, he returned to dentistry. In 1867, he converted to Baptist and joined a White Baptist church in Bordentown that was pastored by Reverend J. W. Custis. The congregation helped him through college. He attended Madison University (now Colgate University, graduated in 1868), Rochester University, and Howard University, from which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1873. As a student, he worked briefly in Washington D.C. at Hillsdale School. In Hillsdale, he boarded with Smithsonian Institution employee, Solomon G. Brown. After graduating he moved to Arkansas on the advice of Horace Greeley to become a teacher there, but returned to Hillsdale soon after where he taught until June 1874.
The following summer, he married Josephine A. Silence on August 25, 1874 and moved to Ocala, Florida. The couple had seven children, Josephine Lavinia, William Johnson, Maud Marie, Amanda Moss, Mary Beatrice, John Thomas, and Gussie Lewis. In Florida, he invested in land to grow oranges, became principal of Howard Academy's teacher training program and served as the pastor of a church, deputy county clerk and county commissioner. He campaigned for the Republican Rutherford B. Hayes. He served there until 1879. He was ordained that year and moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he pastored the First Baptist Church. The following year, he became the second president of the Kentucky Normal and Theological Institute, which he worked for a decade. The school was eventually renamed the State University of Louisville and later to Simmons College of Kentucky after Simmons due to schools progression under his tenure. He was succeeded in 1894 at Simmons College by Charles L. Purce.
In Kentucky he was elected for several years the chairman of the State Convention of Colored Men. On September 29, 1882, he was elected editor of the journal, the American Baptist where he criticized the failures of both political parties to support blacks in their civil rights and progress. He was also president of the American Baptist Company. in 1886 he was elected over T. Thomas Fortune to president of the Colored Press Association, having lost to W. A. Pledger the previous year. In 1883, Simmons organized the Baptist Women's Educational Convention, and in 1884, Blanche Bruce appointed Simmons commissioner for the state of Kentucky at the 1884 World's Fair in New Orleans. In 1886, he organized and was elected president of the American National Baptist Convention. The convention was a call for African American Baptist unity and was also led by Richard DeBaptiste and featured notable presentations by Solomon T. Clanton and James T. White. In 1889 in Indianapolis, Simmons was a leader at the American National Baptist Convention and wrote a resolution to provide aid for blacks fleeing violence in the South and moving to the North.
Simmons received an honorary master's degree from Howard University in 1881 and an honorary Doctorate degree from Wilberforce University in 1885. In 1887, he published a book entitled Men of Mark: Eminent, Progressive and Rising, which highlights the lives of 172 prominent African-American men, while serving as the school's president. He was working on a sister edition of the title that would highlight the lives and accomplishments of prominent pre-1900 African-American women, but unfortunately died before its completion. He died on October 30, 1890, in Louisville, Kentucky.

“Nicky Hayes describes limerence as "a kind of infatuated, all-absorbing passion" which is unrequited. Tennov equated it to the type of love Dante felt towards Beatrice—an individual he met twice in his life and who served as inspiration for La Vita Nuova and the Divine Comedy. It is this unfulfilled, intense longing for the other person which defines limerence, where the individual becomes "more or less obsessed by that person and spends much of their time fantasising about them".
Tumblr media
Physical contact with the object of affection is not essential to an individual experiencing limerence”
Tumblr media
“Other characteristics include acute longing for reciprocation, fear of rejection, and unsettling shyness in the limerent object's presence.Tennov suggests that feelings of limerence can be intensified through adversity, obstacles, or distance—'Intensification through Adversity'. “
Tumblr media
“ In their thoughts, such a person tends to emphasize what is admirable in the limerent object and to avoid any negative or problematic attributes.”
“ What gets emotionally blended is blissful ecstasy and acute despair,
This limbo is the threshold for mental prostration. “
Tumblr media
“Limerence may form as a defense mechanism against the limerent object, who is not perceived initially as a romantic ideal, but as a physical threat to the limerent. “
“Some limerent-limerent relationships evolve into affectional bondings over time as limerence declines. Tennov describes such couples as "old marrieds" whose interactions are typically both stable and mutually gratifying.”
