2/7 of the Yuuriboys. I'm working hard over here with these. These fluff alphabets are quite a creative workout for my writer's brain. However, this one was easy to write since I don't stop talking about this motherfucker. He's just too fine.
Anyway, enjoy!
CW: Suggestive
A = Abundance Of Love (Are they a loud lover that loves to express their love in many ways or are they a quiet lover that loves those quiet, intimate moments?)
This man is absolutely a quiet lover. As much as he wants to show everyone that you are his, the distance must remain between you two during office hours. However, when he does have you all to himself, you KNOW that man is gonna treat you right. He's more romantic than he says. He says that he's not a romantic type, but bro is holding you & telling how beautiful you are. Like, STOP LYING.
B = Brave (Were they the first to confess? If so, how did the confession go?)
Yes, he was & he genuinely thought that the confession would go worse. Maybe he was worried that you wouldn't like him. He does stay in his ivory tower alone, so he never got the chance to take an interest in anyone. When he saw you, though, he switched up real fast. Luckily, the confession went well & he was honest to god RELIEVED. I guess his ivory tower will be less lonely now.
C = Control (Do they take the wheel of the relationship or do they let someone else do the driving?)
I feel like he takes the wheel of the relationship. His whole story is basically about how one loses control & gets back on their feet afterwards, so expect him to take the wheel. Another thing is that he has this huge thing with taking care of problems without being asked to. If anything gets in the way of him or you, he will handle it accordingly. That is what he is supposed to do as his role in almost everything. Well, that's how he put it.
D = Dreamboat (What do they find attractive in their partner(s)?)
People would say that confidence is quite an attractive trait & they are right but listen, consider this; optimism. I feel like this is quite a controversial answer, but I feel like he likes more than just confidence. He likes a different kind of confidence. It's the fact that no matter the situation or who they are. You always find the best in things & the best in people. You believe that there is something more than meets the eye & he admires that. You see him more than just a cruel crime boss. You see him as him & he loves you for that.
E = Empathetic (If their partner(s) was in a not so good mood, how would they cheer them up?)
He's not really good at comforting people since he comes off as extremely blunt. However, that doesn't mean he isn't willing to try. He can try to comfort you with his words, but I feel like he would rather just hold you & listen to your rant. You ranting about your feelings & him holding you while you do that makes him feel like he's pretty decent at comforting. He's much more of a listener in rants.
F = Forgiving (If they had a fight with their partner(s), how would they apologize? Or would they be petty about it?)
Naturally, Auron would push people out of the way if they got in the way. However, you're not just people. You're his darling & the one thing he hates more than anything is to lose you, someone he cares about deeply. He probably was the one who initiated the fight since I know that man is stubborn & he will hold his ground, but there are more important things than pride. He is the first to apologize & he genuinely feels real fucking bad about it. He hates getting in arguments with you, but please reassure him that it's normal to get into arguments & that he doesn't have to push people away afterwards.
G = General (Random Fluff Headcanon)
Okay, I've been talking about this ALOT because it's important to me that I have this concept imprinted inside your hippocampus. I keep thinking about that one ATSV scene where Miles has this art page of Gwen. Are you seeing where I'm going with this? Auron just looks through your sketchbook to see an art page of him in there. He just looks at you & smiles. "I missed you, too." This is a bit self-indulgent jahqniajaiai
H = Home (How would they feel living with their partner(s)?)
HELL YEAH BROTHERRR 🦅🦅
He loves the idea of it. As much as he enjoys being alone, it's nice to wake up next to someone you love dearly. He's not safe from being domesticated & to be honest, he would let that shit happen. It could be your idea or his. It's up to you. In the end, just hearing your voice every morning is just soothing. LET HIM BE HAPPY GODDAMN IT 😤
I = Idealistic (What's their personal preference in a special someone?)
He doesn't take interest in timid people. He wants someone who knows exactly what they're doing rather than someone who isn't sure about their decisions. He wants someone who gets the job done. At the same time, he just wants someone a little more than that. Someone that just understands him. So throw that shit all into one quality & you get someone that is preceptive.
J = Jealousy (Do they get protective of their partner(s) when someone flirts with them?)
You bet your bottom quarter, except he doesn't really show it. He's cool, sorta calm, & collected. He's not gonna shout at them as maybe simple as a harmless flirt such as compliments like "Hey, you look very nice today." If they made you uncomfortable, on the other hand, he will be handling it. He ain't fucking around. If he gets jealous, it really depends on when we are talking about. If it's before you got together, then yes. VERY. If it is after you got together, not as much. You belong to him & he will prove the whole office if he has to.
K = Key To The Heart (What is something that will make them fall in love instantly?)
Bro fell in love the first time he saw you. He noticed that you dressed nice & how you were confident about getting the job. WHAT DO YOU MEAN?? He was HOOKED. It was love at first sight. I WISH I WAS MAKING THIS SHIT UP & I thought that I was DOWN BAD.
L = Luxurious (Do they spoil their partner(s) rotten? If they do, how do they spoil them?)
He is rich. You already know. However, I'm not gonna leave ya guys hanging with just that.
He likes to make his gifts very personalized for you. It's why he asks for your measurements, such as your fingers for getting rings or your ahem ahem NECK for uh suggestive reasons that I shall not disclose because we don't do NSFW here. So, I'm leaving that up to your imagination. Anyway, he does enjoy spoiling you mostly for him, though. There are some outfits that he wants to see you in. 😳
M = Marriage (How would they feel about getting married?)
I feel like he would like the idea of it. Of course, like anybody else, he would be a bit nervous about it. He's nervous because of how important this feels. It's something he HAS to get right in his eyes. So expect that man to plan this shit for MONTHS. This man might even rehearse before purposing to you. When everything falls in line, he does all of this fancy ass shit. He has this personal driver prepared to drive to a special location. I'm talking about a red carpet to the limo, then it takes you out of the city to a cliff that has a gazebo. You can see that fine ass man waiting for you & then you hop out of the limo. You see a trail of red roses & red candles lit.
You follow it & you meet your man all dressed up to the NINES. Like bro is dripped the FUCK out. Then he goes on to this speech on how much he adores you & how much you mean to him. Of course, the fine ass man gets on one knee & goes:
"Will you marry me?"
Bitch, YES.
N = Nobility (How honest are they to their partner(s)? Do they hide anything?)
As much as he trusts you, he does hide things. However, that doesn't mean he lies to you. He's unmoved by truth, but this truth is truly moving his ass. He did tell you that he is a criminal who killed more than one guy, but I feel like that as much he can tell you. The more you know, the more in danger you will be. He doesn't want you involved. He would rather you be unaware & safe than to be knowledgeable & in danger.
O = Overwhelmed (If they were in a not so good mood, how can their partner(s) help them out?)
Honestly. When he is stressed, he's definitely telling you not to worry about him. He always says that "I'm fine, rook. You don't need to worry about me." but in reality, this man needs comfort more than anything. During office hours, you could check in on him. Trish might find you suspicious for constantly going into his office, say, 6 times within the same 2 hours. Or a better, less suspicious way is taking care of him at home. Tell him to cancel whatever he's doing for the night & take a break with him. Of course, it's not gonna be that easy. However, persistence is key. He'll give in & just put his head in your lap. He enjoys the warmth that comes from your thighs, especially when you play with his hair. He might even fall asleep.
P = Passionate (What is something to them that means a lot to them that only their partner(s) knows about it?)
His writing. That's something he almost never shares with anyone. The only people he has shared it to were Charlie & of course, you. He finds his writings very important to him since they reveal ALOT about him, especially how he feels. Most of his writing recently has been about you, so he wants to keep his writing private. Bro is like me fr because I'm nervous when I show people my headcanons, so he's not alone.
Q = Quirky (Something silly that they do.)
On Auron's character design stream, Yuuri mentioned that Auron would own a multipen & I'm going add onto that. Auron owning a multipen reminds me of that kid in class who would write in a pretty font & make it cute when literally the topic is the most disturbing thing ever. That was Auron & still is.
R = Romantic (What is their love language?)
Call this man the Pokémon master because this bitch caught them all but if I had to pick a one, this might be controversial answer, acts of service. Just hear me out.
Auron does things for people without being asked to & never complains about it. He fully accepts the responsibility of taking care of everything & everyone, which leads to his love language being acts of service. He does go a bit too far & neglects his own needs because I believe that he doesn't see himself as a priority & there are other matters that are more important than himself right now. Please take care of that man because he needs someone to see him as a priority rather than something that can be pushed to the side for later.
S = Sublime (What is the best gift that their partner(s) can give them?)
He doesn't really ask for much besides your time & all of your love in return. He's not interested in getting gifts & he probably wouldn't want you to get him one since he's rich. Plus you do just fine as a present but you say fuck it & get him a gift anyway. The first idea was to get him a book, but that would be too obvious. You want something little more meaningful. You decided to somewhat write a half decent poem about how much you appreciate him. It's not the best writing in history, but he's enjoys that you put love & thought into it. That's enough for him.
T = Touching (How do they feel about PDA?)
Yeahhhh, probably not. He isn't really too fond of PDA, especially during office hours. He doesn't wanna look like he plays favorites, in my opinion. After hours is a different story because you two are alone & he has you all to himself, so he would rather that.
U = Undeniable (Did everyone know about their crush on their partner(s)?)
Nope. He is quite phenomenal at being discreet, plus who would anyone in their right mind would take interest in the boss? IT'S US ACTUALLY SUAJNAAUJA
V = Visionary (What do they want their future to look like with their partner(s)?)
My first initial thought was "Maybe, he might give the crime thing." but oh sweet Louie from 5 minutes ago, there is no fixing this man.
Although, I think he would want to move away from the city & go into this warm, cozy setting he's been writing about. I doubt he would give up the crime thing since that's his responsibility & a thing that was passed down from Faust's dad to him, but who knows, maybe he might pass it down to someone he trusts. Maybe he might become a writer & just enjoy his life with you. We may never know.
W = Wacky (General Fluff Headcanon. Again.)
I like to think the way he sleeps is just wrapping himself in a blanket burrito. I dunno I think it's funny. Crime boss in a blanket burrito is the most fire thing ever.
X = Xaroncharoo (Yes, that's a word. Look it up. In a domestic sense, what are they exceptional at in the home?)
Cleaning. He's making sure this house is fucking NEAT. Everytime I think about him cleaning, I think about those moms that clean the houses like hell because company is coming.
"I don't care if we have to throw everything out, rook. I want this place to look like a new mediterranean fusion restaurant by noon."
Y = Yearning (If their partner(s) went out to get something without them/went off to work, how would they feel about it?)
Z = Zonked (How do they cuddle?)
Jokes on you, you goober. You guys already work together as it is. So it's not a problem because he can just watch you from the cameras. However, if you went by yourself without him? He's probably getting you an escort to take to where you need to be. You insist on like, "Hey, I'm totally fine. I can just drive there & when I get there, I can just call you." or "My friend can pick me up, " & all of that. In the end, you have an escort to take you to Weis. He may not look like it, but he does miss you when you're gone.
Head first in his boobs. That's exactly what we're doing. He would probably hold you on top of him while you just enjoy the warm comfort of his boobs.

sometimes i like to think about what would have been of yuna and seymour's marriage. obviously she could have never predicted what would then in truth happen, so the whole [ playing marriage for a chance to send him ] was objectively a plan set to fail. she would become his wife in the true sense.
he detains power ( political and whatnot ) that she could have not equalize at that moment; so obviously it would not have worked in the way she envisioned. so i wanna think of a yuna that plays the long game. part of me wants to think that.. not love in its purest form, but i'm sure she would have felt for him something. empathy, perhaps, to some degree ( especially once she visits the temple of baaj ; i wonder what would happen if she were to take him there to see his mother? ). she would spend years learning him, studying him, perhaps even becoming him — all to then set her plan in motion. it's obvious he would always have the upper hand, especially in the beginning, but yuna is patient and would learn the ways once uncovering all the secrets. i feel like one of her biggest skills is modeling herself to fit what is required — if she has to play the wife of a maester to see her goal to the end, then she would, and would even excell at it. she'd be different obviously, appear differently even, but she'd buy time with his plan to become the next sin, as much as she could to earn whatever trust he could place in her. i feel like he actually would love her, in some way. it would perhaps rather be reverance or devotion to mimic what yunalesca and zaon had, but i think their relationship and dynamic is very complex and always wondered what would have happened.

Auron x Reader
CW: none! Brief use of Y/N
~~
“Trish, can you send a message to Legal? I need to speak with Roo- Y/N.” Auron let go of his buzzer, turning back to his contract. “I’m afraid they’re not here today, sir. Their manager said they called in sick this morning.” He paused, pen wavering over the paper. Sick? They were sick? Why didn’t they tell him or even just send him a heads up? Auron pulled up his schedule, he didn’t have any meetings so.. “Trish, cancel any plans I had, there’s a family emergency.”
Rook was sprawled out on their couch, cuddling their pillow as the tv droned on. The meds they had taken had began to wear off and the horrible headache that they had awoke with was beginning to return. They watched as the two main characters in their show kissed, giggling to themself at how horribly it was portrayed. A loud knock cut their thoughts off, making them jump. “Uhh the doors unlocked, you can come in.” They rasped out, pulling their pillow to their chest for protection. The door handle went down as it opened to reveal.. Auron.
“What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be at work!” Rook tried to stumble to their feet, about to scold him for leaving work. Auron smirked, hand pushing them back down onto the couch, “Relax, Trish told me you were under the weather so I came to get you.” His smooth voice calmed their nerves, their headache subsided momentarily as he chuckled. “Wait- you came to get me?”
After some persuading, Auron picking up Rook while they yelled about how they were fine, the two made it to Auron’s penthouse. Rook was bundled up his arms, having grabbed one of their blankets before they left. As he brought them to his bedroom, the headache returned and they deflated in his arms. “I’ll go get you some meds and water, try to rest, I’ll be back.” He said, pressing a kiss to their forehead before leaving for the kitchen. The room smelt like his cologne with a hint of his shampoo, he must of showered this morning. Rook snuggled into his pillows letting his scent wash over them. Their thoughts were interrupted by his footsteps as he returned, a variety of medicines in his arms and a water bottle in his mouth. He put the meds on the desk, removing the bottle from his jaws, “I wasn’t sure which ones you preferred so I brought all that I thought might help.”
“Auron?”
“Yes, Rookie?”
“Thank you.”

I'll do it again in a heartbeat.
another idea, Rook killing someone with the gun. Just like the same scene as Auron did with his step farther.
Rook was taken somewhere and Auron heard a shot and scared out his fucking life he runs. He never ran that fast before but he sees Rook holding a gun pulling the trigger as the person that threaten their peace on the floor.
Gasping for air and Rook can't hear him speaking, the gun made their ears ring as the looked at the floor. There was so much blood...
"ROOK?" Snapping out of it they looked at Auron. Why did their chest hurt so much? It was getting harder to breath all of a sudden. Laughing began as Rook looked at the gun then the floor as the person seemed to stop moving.
"I...I killed-" Hands moved their head to look Auron in the eyes, desperate eyes that held tears. Seeing Rook needed to go this far to protect themselves, and him as well. There was a unspoken conversation, Rook was fine and so was Auron. Now all they needed to do was hide that body, which was easy, Auron simply made a phone call and people showed up.
Now in the car with a blanket Rook was on his lap. Auron was waiting for them to say something, what did that person say to make Rook shoot? "He was talking about you. Auron, he knew where everyone was. Faust, Trish, my family, and even your mother." Tightening his grip on his lover he listened more, "I just got so angry of how he spoke of them, like he fucking knew them personally."
The voice Rook had made them sound...insane. As if they were dreaming of killing that person? "I don't care that I killed them. I protected who I needed too." Oh god this sounded so familiar to him.
"I would do it again in a heartbeat if I needed too." Looking down he saw the blood thirty eyes he had when younger. Kissing their head he knew they would, after all Rook said they were as dangerous as him.

❀ Somewhat clean, I guess it’s not really dirty but it’s not like very clean either
❀ His vanity looks like a drag queen after a show and an alcohol. An emo kid from the 2000s went to hot topic and bought all the rings he could find.
❀ His closet is surprisingly clean. I feel like his mom always told him to clean it up and would yell at him if he didn’t.
❀ His room decorations are between like pastel and goth hit both at the same time and did a weird crash between them

❀ His room is like the most basic country boy room you can find out there

Hows the process of Shattered coming along is it going good?
Finally, yes. Kinda had to go back to the drawing board on my original outline because it felt a little too lukewarm.
Shattered will probably be a little divisive. If you didn't fuck with the fantastical elements introduced in BitterSweet Ch3, you might as well pack your shit. 😂
We are going down that rabbit hole and establishing a lot of core themes and foundational pieces of the broader world building, with Auron and Rook serving as our front row seat to wtf is going on.
Not that this will fundamentally change dynamics featured in one shots, etc and so forth. They'll always have their slice of life content. But...I'm getting the fuck on with the urban fantasy side of things.
Some folks won't dig it and that's fine. I'm going to create what I want to create and those who stick along for the ride will be rewarded with what I hope is one of the most satisfying chapters of anything I've ever created!
We'll be diving right tf in when it kicks off. I'm still moving pieces around the chessboard as I build out the story, but I'm confident in where it'll lead me.
There is one more major piece of the puzzle I will not be revealing until it's time. I'm going to take as long as I need to get it right so I can curate a really damn cool experience. If I pull it off, it'll be a greater achievement than BS3 was.
It's a lot of work, and I realized that I needed to work through some feelings and soreness I had after BS3 that left me gun shy. I won't be holding anything back, or giving up on ideas and direction that I'm passionate about. This one is for me.

Nothing in my head just the listeners(especially boo)
Caressing the boys cheeks kissing their forehead and saying "my darling boy" then sacrificing themselves.

Sugarboo kneels down to Infront of Alphonses sleeping figure caressing his cheeks,
They kiss alphonse forehead one last time muttering "my darling boys" as they look at alphonse and seths sleeping figure.
They know that this might not be the right call nor is this right in general but what can they do,they love those two boys too much and they have been through enough, it's time to end this madness.. it's time to end Derek and Sugarboo couldn't care less if it needs to be done with their own hands.
They don't care anymore.
They just want alphonse and Seth to live happily again with the peace they so deserve to have.
If it means their hands need to be stained with Dereks blood then so be it.
They look back at Seth and Alphonses figures making sure they're still asleep
"it'll all be over soon"
The last thing Sugarboo was able to say not even uttering a goodbye as they close the door gun in hand.

Rook stands In front of auron covering his body with their own as the gun goes off the bullet hitting them instead.
Rooks legs gave off as they were forced to kneel from the shot
They watch as Auron hurriedly kneels in front of them too, holding them up.
Oh how Auron looks so pretty in this lighting and how awful rook felt for putting such a horrible expression in Aurons face..how could they make Auron cry.
Rook cups Aurons cheeks wiping of any tears that had fallen smiling at them "You idiot why..why would you ever do something so..so fucking stupid!" Auron exclaimed as he tried to figure out why and how could anyone take a bullet for someone so undeserving like him.
Rook smiles at him kissing him one last time as they mutter "my darling boy" finally feeling the tears flow down as it dawns on them that this might be the last time they ever see Auron..the last time they'll be able to hold and kiss him.
It dawns on them that Auron will live a peaceful happy life with someone else but they don't really care about that now
Afterall,all that matters now is that Auron got to live,
and they get to die having Auron as the last person they ever see.

Interviewer: what line delivery made you emotional? 
Faust: basically, my character was supposed to go up to Auron’s office and Bitch at him. Whatever that’s fine. SO they’re arguing. and then he hits me with the
Auron&Faust: “And you should thank me for it”
Faust: i was trying to hold it together for the HOLE REST OF THE SCENE!
Auron: meanwhile, Charlie was laughing his ass off in the background because it sounded like my balls just dropped!
Faust: SO. the scene ends and I tilted my head back so my mascara didn’t run and he walks up to me to check on me and I 😆
Auron: I’m Half way to him and he FLIPS ME OFF AND SAYS “Fuck You! this foundation Was 48 Dollars!”

Sunflower: yeah, it wasn’t in the script. He wasn’t supposed to look over at me while cutting the ribbon and hurt himself.
Finn: I was supposed to cut the ribbon, bring it over to the table and then when I sat down, I was supposed to miss the chair and fall….but then I accidentally cut my hand. 
Seth: and he didn’t even break character. Yuuri was about to say cut but he just kept going!
Sunflower: so, when you see me Rush to his aid, that’s genuinely me rushing TO HIS AID

Charlie: Yea we was getting emotional. And everything towards the end of that scene was improvised!
Casper: yeah, after Charlie’s Lore heavy lines I got a chill down my spine because of his delivery, and from then on it was just our genuine sappy  selves
Charlie: as for the new little dude! He’s actually Caspers cat 
Casper: Yea! So I have a light gray cat named bandit  and we just took some pet friendly dye and made him look like a raccoon. And he already loved Charlie, so that was a big deciding factor because all of the actual raccoons that we looked at DID NOT

• he doesn’t say it but he really like physical contact. Like when rook is making breakfast he’ll just come up behind them and wrap his arms around their waist and lay his head on their shoulder
• He usually only packs something like a granola bar and an apple or something like that to work but when Rook found out about this they started bringing him lunch every day he insists he’s fine but Rook isn’t having it
• Surprisingly his love language is physical touch he loves small things like holding Rook’s hand or putting his hand on their thigh
• whenever Rook is feeling even slightly insecure Auron will make sure they know their beautify
• That leads me to my second conclusion he is a body worshiping king
• He loves to read he’ll do it in his free time and he has a whole ass bookshelf. One time Rook got him a book as a present and he was blushing so hard his face was the same color as his hair

just saw fanart of the laugh scene from FFX and i think it's all fine and good to point out it's good for thematic reasons, and that it's cringe on purpose which kinda defeats the shitty nitpicky attempts at mock it, but also, i feel like we miss on a crucial aspect of the scene, which is that it's kinda the first time yuna gets to be weird, and tidus gets to match that weirdness, and why that's essential to their relationship, because he's the only one who could make her feel allowed to be like that and allow himself to be like that around her, and like, we make fun of how absurd it is for auron to be in his mid 30s with his character design but the fact that everyone in spira is so young is kind of the point y'know? the fact that yuna doesn't really get to goof off probably at all until tidus is in her life even though she's 17 and ready to die. idk none of that is new to anyone's analysis of the game but i feel like we don't touch on how that specific scene plays into it so well.

Oh this is a really cool question!! I am a connoisseur for both Eng and Jp Vas so I will provide both. Lmao Some of these are highly specific because some of these characters were lowkey blueprints 🙈 Though I'm curious about what other people would think!
Alberich:
His voice is soft, light, almost sweet tenor. It's gentle and very friendly, the kind that kids find soothing and approachable, but can go into a deep earthy tone when he wants to be serious.
Miyano Mamoru (Chrollo/Light Yagami)

Sieghardt:
His voice would be a very smooth, relaxing tenor, dark but very gentle.

Ik its not ur post but the camp counselor hcs got me thinkin about the listeners being counselors for another camp and the boys camp and theirs have a friendly rivalry. The boys n listeners sittin around a campfire at night when all the kids are sleeping. End of camp counselor vs counselor tug of war. Pls its so cute
Tug of War.
Both sides were whisper yelling at each other as they all pulled on the rope as hard as they could. Trying to be quiet since all the kids were put done to sleep, Auron could feel a headache coming on from all the grunting. Sighing he looks to his right to see Rook cheering, silently, on the group their friend's were on, while the boys were on the other side. The whole thing started because Alphonse was shit talking to Boo. Which usually didn't cause anything to happen but Boo decided why not take him up on his bet he said in the spur of the moment? First they had to convince Auron that it was a good idea.
"No." is what they got, the older man was looking over different papers of the children that came in making sure that none of the activities tomorrow would affect any of them.
"Auron, pal, budd-" A glare was shot at Alphonse to shut him up. It was clear they weren't going to get through to him as they were politely kicked out of his cabin. Boo had a plan B for situations for this, dragging Alphonse by his arm they started to hunt down Rook's location on the grounds.
On the other side of the camp, Rook was closing the last door of the cabin they were watching over today. But as they turn they almost screamed when Boo spawned out of no where, Alphonse seeing this hurried to cover Rook's mouth. The person with his hand on their face glared at both of them, it's funny how Rook can gather up energy to give them the 'Auron Stare' as Faust says. So Alphonse quickly got his hand off of their face as Boo explained the bet he said.
"Okay so, Al here, shit talker mother fucker." A eye roll is what they got as a response, "Said that the boys could beat us listeners in a tug of war game easily." Rook looked at Al and giggled. They wondered why both decided to tell them this...oh so that's what they need from them.
"And you couldn't convince Auron that it was a good idea?" The baker and pinkette nodded together. Rook sighed as they whipped out their phone and checked the time, "If I can't convince him in 5 minutes were going to have it tomorrow so the kids can have something fun to watch got it?" The other two nodded as they rushed to tell the other counselors the fun idea. It was easy to get all the adults at the campfire that they usually have when the kids all hunker down for the night. But it was kinda hard to convince them to play tug of war.
"Why would I want to do that and ruin my nail polish?" Faust said as Star sat next to him, but luckily his partner answered for Alphonse.
"What scared us listeners would win?" Faust looked at his partner unfazed, "Starlight you need to try harder than that." Some of the adults agreed with Faust, not with the nail polish but it was kinda late to be doing this.
"How about a reward for the group that wins?" Scout smirked as they spoke, this got everyone attention. "Losers....have to clean the bathrooms." They all looked at Scout who was glaring at Alphonse, "What you say candy boy?" Alphonse scoffed as he bend down to talk shit, "Be-" He was interrupted by a loud cough.
Auron was standing there with his arms crossed with a annoyed look on his face, along with a viewable kiss mark. Rook was smiling next to him holding one of his arms "I was able to convince him!" Auron rolled his eyes as he looked at Alphonse, Boo and Scout.
"So, losers clean the bathrooms? Fine." Alphonse sent a thank you to Rook but Auron spoke again, "Who's going to play?" Looking at the group of adults most of the listeners agreed to play but of course. Faust had to be convinced, what got him into gear was Auron whispering something to him and he got up quickly.
"Let's get this over with, I have paper work that needs to be done." And so here we are now on the boy's side is; Alphonse, Faust, Charlie, Finn, Seth, Jack, and Lucien. With the listeners having; Boo, Scout, Star, Casper, Sunflower, Buddy, and Angel. Auron and Rook were out because, Auron was the only one all of them were comfortable to have being the referee and Rook was automatically out to make the sides even.
"I want this over quickly so play fair, who ever crosses the line first is the loser. Wake the kids up 10 laps on the track, and now both sides ready?" Both sides held up the rope with determination in their eyes. Rook held up the flag waiting for Auron's mark "Ready....set....go!" The listener's were able to yank to rope a bit to their side but Lucien in the back of the boy's line anchored them down.
Grunts and quiet cursing on heard on both sides, along with shit talking of course. "Hey Boo, don't be mad when we win, ok?" He almost was yanked forward by Boo's pure spite, "How about you pull on that rope before I'll make you fall for me again, pretty boy." Rook giggled seeing the couple being competitive against each other. It was them that got the counselors in bets half of the time, like who can eat the most sandwiches. Lucien was happy with this one because he got to try making sandwiches that the kids might like.
Auron looked at Rook who was cheering silently for their friend's, maybe this wasn't so bad. The kisses he got to convince him weren't all that bad either, but he was getting bored quickly over this as neither side gave up the rope. But that changed when Alphonse told Big Red to pull harder, this caused the listeners to panic since Big was well, bigger and stronger than them. Angel trying to counter their partner pulled all their weight to Anchor everyone down.
Buddy and Sunflower started to do the same as they tried to pull the rope to them more. As the tug of war game was going on the ground was getting smashed more, and a pitter patter of rain started.
"Fuck." Alphonse said as he tried to focus on not slipping in the now forming mud at his feet. Rook giggled as they opened an umbrella "Poor guy didn't check the forecast, crazy that there was gonna be a bit of rain on this summers day huh, Auron?" Auron laughed a bit as he held them close and the umbrella as well.
"Hopefully this'll teach him a lesson to make make silly bets during the night." As he said this Alphonse slipped in the mud and Boo being a loving partner they are took this opportunity to yank hard on the rope as the other listeners did after them. The yank caused Red to fall on Seth, because Jack seeing the mountain of a man moved out the way. Causing all the other boys to fall forward.
"And the winners are...The listeners!" Auron said nonchalantly as he looked at Alphonse who was whipping mud off his face glaring at Boo. Faust was whinnying about the mud getting on his shirt from falling and Star rushed to help him, the others following after making sure their partners were okay. The only one okay with the mud on them was Finn, he had actually fallen in the mud earlier today during gardening time with his group.
After everyone got to their respectful cabins they all washed off and Auron told the boys "I want the bathrooms cleaned before the kids wake up, thank you." Rook followed him after to his office in his cabin with a giggle as they told everyone good night.

The question about how you write characters reminded me of a question I'd been meaning to ask you for a minute!!! I've noticed almost all the boys have veryyyy distinct diction, which I thought was really cool. It's not just a difference in voice or accent. This was first super obvious to me with the Auron penthouse tour audio when I knew just a moment before he said it, that he'd describe something as "preposterous."
SO my question is how do you do it + maintain it? And is there ever a point where it comes subconscious as your writing a character's script?
That's something I've become more and more conscious of as I've added characters and sometimes it's not the easiest thing! Sometimes I actually think it's a weak point of mine I need to focus on getting better at and am actively conscious of as I'm writing nowadays.
We run into the "creative vs. worker" situation I'm in where as much as I want to be really good about that sort of thing, sometimes I just need to get the fucking work done if I wanna eat so I better stow my ego and perfectionism and trust that it's fine and I'll get another crack at doing a better job of it next time around. There are times where I'll be deep into a recording session, second guess myself, and want to re-write or do another take of the WHOLE THING and it's like...no dude we gotta go. lol
Familiarity with characters matters a ton. I think I did a great job with the most recent Faust stuff, where he felt really unique among the roster of boys. His speech, mannerisms, and character in general gets me further away from what I'm familiar with. I knew it was something I wanted to nail with him, and I think just being aware helped a ton as I worked through it.
Alphonse and Charlie suffer from my unbearable enjoyment of having that accent say big words. It's just fuckin funny to me and will never not get me to giggle, even if it shouldn't really be in their everyday vernacular. Charlie has the added lore excuse of being lowkey smart (Jessie mentions he should have stayed in school) and being Auron's beta reader. Alphonse isn't necessarily well read, but he knows words. Perhaps too many at times, but it's something I'm aware of.
Auron is right in the sweet spot, him being a bit arrogant + desperately romantic allows me to go directions that don't necessarily fit with the rest of the roster.
Seth is similar in that the southern sweetheart approach opens up its own language opportunities.
Finn is one that I'm still playing with. I like when he gets poetic and thoughtful. I think the sweet spot with him was in the hiking/bug audio. Shoutout to that commissioner btw, because I really tucked some lore in that thing years ago. He gets the most "dreamy" of the lot, I think? He romanticizes the mundane the most, and I don't think that was even a conscious choice at first.
As I tackle Echoes and other projects that involve more characters and variety I'm definitely becoming more and more aware of my habits. I actually think that aside from "cook with this mf narrative", ensuring that my individual character voices are distinct and strong is priority number one in the writing room for me right now.
Saying ALL OF THAT to say thank you for thinking that, I'm a tough critic when it comes to myself, but if I've managed to make someone think I'm decent at what I've identified as a weakness, I can at least know that I don't have to beat myself up over it lmfao.
