Rolan and/or Gale each wanting to show off for Tav with a display of magic but, instead of just doing it Tav in front of Tav, he puts on a little show of his magic for a group of people (the boy is nervous); he makes sure Tav gets the best spot in the audience, up towards the front and closer to him. However, when he inevitably glances over to gauge Tav's reaction, he catches Tav not looking admiringly around his display but instead admiringly at him.

I do see Rolan easily getting startled by Tav's admiring gaze... Tips of his ears get a lil hot maybe ✨. Also, did he do all this work to impress them for nothing?? At least they seem impressed...

The nail in the coffin of being down bad for Tav, would be them coming up to him afterwards and hugging him, before showing him in compliments. He boasts about his techniques, enough to have Cal and Lia roll their eyes, but you listen💕🌻. Catch the two of you ending the night later than anyone else, under the star light he shows you magic that's only meant for your eyes;;

Thinking abt Rand being psychotic and having the symptoms, how he just always looked so paranoid because he'd do things like look off into the distance squinting and get startled by seemingly nothing. Thinking about times Rand would get so scared he'd use the phone to call Rolan or Kian and would just sit there with them talking until he was calm enough to go back to whatever he needed to do; either that or just spending an excessive amount of time hanging out with them, including having sleepovers so he wouldn't feel alone. Rolan and Kian never really *got* why Rand was like that, but they were there for him. Like sure, Rand was *weird* but they still cared about him.

It got a lot worse after what happened to Rachel. Rand would start blatantly talking about how he could hear Rachel talking to him and guilting him for what happened, but he had also started sleeping far less than he was used to so Rolan and Kian would tell him to be safe and get well. It was at thing point Rand's dependancy on drugs and cigarettes got WAY more intense, it was one of the few things that kept him calm. Rand also started putting far more energy into his interests, wayyy more than he did before. Playing tabletop games with Rolan and Kian was something that helped him get the anxious energy out, and he could get as creative as he wanted meaning he had a safe space to get out the odd thoughts he couldn't do otherwise.

When Rolan and Kian went away, he tried to be upset in the "normal" way. You know, your friends leave you behind so you get upset like any other person would... When you get the thought that maybe they had never been real, maybe they had been artificially made to personally screw your life over, you try to put it out of your mind because that's not what someone *should* be thinking. But Rand couldn't help it.

SO ANYWAYS, Kian goes to therapy. Like a cool person. Kian is talking about his friends and what they were like, and the topic of Rand comes up. The therapist gives Kian a weird look, and mentions something offhandedly about Rand maybe experiencing hallucinations or delusions. Kian goes quiet, sits up. "Real shit?" Kian gets to learn a bit more about it and then proceeds to never stop thinking about it. When Kian comes back to Galloway, he keeps looking at Rand when he thinks Rand isn't looking. Worried. Feeling bad he never thought that much about Rand's "weirdness". Rand thinks Kian is looking at him for queer reasons or paranoid reasons his brain is making up; Kian is actually just thinking "bro, how do I tell my friend he's crazy but like not in an offensive way?"

Anyways, this has been my ramble.

me hc'ing pcs relationship to makeup:

gillion tidestrider, he didnt rlly wear makeup in the undersea and has internalised that but he would happily wear makeup if offered, like god someone PLEASE givr him permission. just make sure that its suitable for a triton though.

jay ferin, she's great with stuff like clown makeup and sfx. if she tries normal makeup looks she will mess it up and start cussing tho.

chip, he used to use makeup but with the bandana he doesnt now lol. anyways he's not perfect but DAMN he's better than u would expect. he refuses to elaborate on how he got so good at it (he's just very insecure abt his appearance okay).

goobleck, bbg eats that shit.

ashe winters, she literally had all the time in the world to practice at home she's SO fucking good at it. she consumes makeup tutorials like nobody's business. makeup QUEEN.

william wisp, he applies so much black eyeshadow n stuff. its in his bonez. really good with stuff relating to nail polish and all that. after meeting ashe he started to get more ambitious with his makeup, up until what happened. then he started wearing MORE black makeup and then even MORE after realising he has no blood. after gaining a new heart she's started wearing warmer makeup with more reds, and also doing more horror-esque looks. uhhh i guess basically she changes her makeup a lot depending on how she's feeling and what's happening.

dakota cole, not interested. might have some internalised feelings of thinking it makes him look less genuine or faker somehow. and gender issues.

vyncent sol, id have to think more abt whether the cat boy would wear makeup.

kian stone, prolific in it babes check him out she's rocking it. LOVES doing drag makeup. fuck yeah!!

rand, makeup would probably require him to clean himself up which is already too much to ask of him.

rolan, he likes when ppl do his makeup for him but probably doesnt really wear it otherwise. too scared to wear makeup in public most of the time. big fan of all the drag he's seen.

thanatos, um. i mean. yeah. i mean he's a robot. peter can paint him?? if he wants??? nobody else though its an exclusive peter privilege.

peter, okay i think he'd be decent at it but his REAL passion is face painting. let him draw a lizard on your cheek right fucking now.

rumi, they actually suck at makeup so bad holy shit all they do is magically sparkle don't fucking ask them to do makeup.

exandroth, she doesnt need makeup he think he looks great (it HATES it the sensory issues god no dont put anything on him girl wasnt built for this)

aster aeliana, she's really good with makeup but dislikes wearing it. merely performing her stereotypical girl duties.
