You Can Start a Family (Extra: Mitchrry Prequel)

Summary: A writing and recording retreat to Jamaica opens the door to a new relationship between Mitch & Harry

Mitch could not believe the turn his life had taken. Mere weeks ago, he was struggling to make ends meet, working at a pizza shop to afford his life in Los Angeles. Now he was traveling to Jamaica to record an album with Harry Styles.

Music had always been his passion, and he knew that he would have to take some big risks to make it in the industry. He was truly close to giving up when he got the call from his roommate that Harry needed a guitarist to help with his first solo album.

Mitch had to admit that he only vaguely knew who Harry Styles was. The name was familiar, he had heard of One Direction but hadn’t listened to their music before. Harry could tell this right away, and he figured this would be a good thing. He was happy to have people on his team who didn’t have preconceived notions of him or his previous work with the band. It would be more of a fresh start that way.

Harry could also tell Mitch hadn’t worked in a studio before. Everything was new to him, which Harry again saw as a positive. After years of being in One Direction he felt as though people would expect him to be confident and know exactly what he was doing in this process, but he didn’t feel that way at all. Going solo was a huge change, and he felt overwhelmed by how much he needed to learn. Having another person on the team in the same position really helped him to be comfortable, and so he found himself gravitating towards Mitch.

While they both had some learning to do on the technical side, it was obvious that they were both extremely talented, and worked very well together. A couple weeks into the process everyone was feeling confident about what they were making.

From the moment Mitch was told about the trip to Jamaica he was incredibly excited. He had never been before, and it made him realize that teaming up with Harry would potentially open up the world to him. His dream of being a successful musician was coming true and he started to dream even bigger.

The house they were living and working in during the trip was perfect. Everyone had their own room, and they were right by the water.

The days were filled with writing and recording, as well as swimming and relaxing outside. Nights were also often filled with writing and recording. But everyone tended to let loose a bit more once the sun set. Drinks flowed, weed and mushrooms were passed around on occasion.

Most nights ended in a way that people might not expect of a world-famous popstar. Harry would choose a romantic comedy and settle in his bed to relax and watch the movie. The first few nights he did so alone, but Mitch soon started to join him.

At first they would leave space between them on the bed and Mitch would go back to his own room as soon as the movie was over. But each day they started to move closer to one another and Mitch would stay longer, spending time talking with Harry.

It only took a week before they started cuddling during the movie, taking turns on who was the big spoon. Each night after the movie ended they would lie on their sides facing each other and talking about music, movies, their lives, or whatever else was on their minds.

Little by little they would shift closer, until their noses were practically touching as they spoke. More than once their lips would accidentally brush together causing them both to pull back. These moments caused Mitch a fair amount of confusion, as he had never thought about men the way he now found himself thinking about Harry.

It’s a Friday night, and while days of the week really don’t matter to them on this trip, they decide it's a night for the group to let loose. Drinks flow steadily all evening, causing everyone to get quite tipsy. And eventually, quite drunk.

Well past midnight Mitch looks up to see that everyone else has gone to bed except himself and Harry.

“Want another?” Harry asks, holding up a beer.

“Sure, why not?” Mitch replies and Harry passes it to him before opening his own.

They drink in silence for a few minutes before Harry askes, “Want to go sit on the dock?”

Mitch nods and they walk together to the end of the dock and sit side by side, feet dangling off the edge and into the water.

“I have to say, I’m glad the original guitarist flaked,” Harry says.

“Really?”

“Yea. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have joined the team. We wouldn’t have met.”

“Well, I’m really glad he flaked too. This experience has been a dream come true.”

Harry smiles at that before continuing, “I feel like this album would be so different without you. Your contributions are really shaping it.”

“Thanks man,” Mitch says. They lapse back into a comfortable silence. Harry suddenly shifts and rests his head on Mitch’s shoulder. Mitch in turn wraps his arm around Harry’s waist, enjoying this moment of contact. He finds himself wishing for more but refuses to make the first move.

More time passes, thoughts spiraling through Mitch’s brain, and then he feels it. Harry’s lips ghosting over the skin of his neck. Mitch’s breath catches as those light touches turn into firm kisses along the side of his throat. His eyes slip shut, and he gets lost in the feeling. Harry’s lips travel up first to Mitch’s chin, then finally, his mouth.

The kiss starts soft, sweet, tentative. There’s no rush, but also no hesitancy. From the first moment they connect, Mitch matches Harry’s firm presses, letting him know he’s perfectly okay with what’s happening.

Harry’s hands move to cup Mitch’s face and his tongue slides across the other man’s lips, asking for entrance. Mitch immediately parts his lips, gasping at the first swipe of Harry’s tongue across his own, and he reaches out to grip Harry’s hips.

They get lost in one another, time slipping away as they continue to make out, the sounds of the waves in the background. Mitch’s hand starts to slide of its own accord, until it’s dangerously close to Harry’s groin.

Harry pulls away and Mitch starts to apologize for his wandering hand but Harry cuts him off saying, “Movie time?”

Mitch is confused for a moment at the sudden change but nods and follows Harry back inside to his room, hands linked together. The house is mostly dark and silent, indicating that everyone else is already asleep.

Harry picks up the remote to his TV, putting on a random movie that Mitch recognizes as one they watched a few days prior. Both men then sit together on the bed against the headboard, and Mitch isn’t sure what’s going to happen next. He isn’t left wondering for long before Harry turns and reconnects their lips. This time it grows heated very quickly. Mitch again reaches out to Harry, resting his hands on his waist.

“It’s okay,” Harry says.

“What is?”

“You can touch me. Anywhere.”

Mitch nods, eyes meeting Harry’s as he murmurs an okay to show he understands.

“Can I touch you?” Harry asks and Mitch lets out, “Yes, please,” before crashing their mouths together once more. Mitch gets lost in the feeling of Harry’s mouth and tongue sliding against his, and he lets out a broken moan as Harry palms his cock. Even through two layers of clothes the touch feels amazing. Quiet gasps fill the room as Harry continues to press against him.

Finally, Mitch builds up the courage to return the favor and he reaches out to stroke Harry over his shorts. His eyes nearly roll back at the sounds of pleasure he pulls from the other man.

They become frantic for a moment, and soon they find themselves completely bare, all their clothes strewn across the room.

Harry pulls back, pausing them and asking, “How far do you want to go?”

Mitch furrows his eyes, not sure what his answer is for a minute. But then he looks back and Harry and knows exactly what he wants.

“I want to go all the way. I just- I’ve never been with a man before. I don’t really know what I’m doing.”

“That’s fine, I can teach you.”

Mitch nods and goes quiet again before asking, “Who going to uhm-”

“Top and bottom?” Harry guesses Mitch’s unfinished question. “I mean, whatever you’re comfortable with, but I would really like for you to fuck me if you’re okay with that.”

“Fuck, yes, more than okay,” Mitch answers before connecting their lips once again. He moves them so that Harry is laying on his back, Mitch on top of him.

“You’ll need lube. And a condom. They’re in the bedside table, top drawer.”

Without a word Mitch grabs the necessary items and turns back to Harry, looking for directions on what to do next.

“Are you comfortable prepping me? If not I can do it,” Harry says.

“Just talk me through it, okay? I don’t want to hurt you,” Mitch replies.

“You won’t. I trust you.”

Those words soothe Mitch, and he leans forward to place a gentle kiss to Harry’s lips before pulling back and opening the bottle of lube. He takes his time opening Harry up, listening to the tips the other man gives to make it pleasurable.

“Okay, I’m ready,” Harry says after Mitch gets to the point where he can easily slide three fingers through his opening.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m sure. Please, Mitch, I’m ready. I need you inside me.”

Mitch pulls back to slide the condom on and coat it with a layer of lube. He lines up with Harry’s entrance and starts to push the tip inside.

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day.

Welcome to Throwback Thursday. On this page, TT is all about memories triggered by words. So, what memory is triggered by the word ‘FATHER-IN-LAW’?

Unfortunately, I lost my father-in-law on Tuesday. I’ve been to Jamaica three times. Two funerals and one wedding. We’ll be going back to Jamaica soon for another funeral. Sounds like a Hugh Grant film! Three funerals and a wedding! We’ll shed a few tears, I’m sure, but The Trouble’s family are boss, so we’ll have a few laughs … and probably a few drinks too!

I’ve got two abiding memories of my father-in-law. Mr. Patterson didn’t want his only children (two girls) moving out to live with their boyfriends, so he allowed the boyfriends to move into HIS house. That way, he knew exactly where his daughters were. So, the old man let me live in The Trouble’s bedroom until we could afford our first flat. He didn’t give me ‘the talk’. In fact, he didn’t say a thing. He didn’t really know me but he knew his girls well, and he knew they wouldn’t be entertaining just anybody. He trusted their judgement, so he figured I was a good investment.

My second significant memory of him was during lockdown. He was stuck here in England because he couldn’t get a flight back to Jamaica. So, there we were: the four of us, locked down in the house. The old man used to call Jamaica frequently and tell anyone that would listen that he was anxious to get ‘home’ but, secretly, I think he enjoyed his time with us. The Trouble liked having him around because he was builder, so he could do odd jobs, and I liked having around because he was a good cook! He used to make me Saturday Soup sometimes twice a week, he would make me oxtail and butter beans and, because I’m spoilt rotten, he would make me Guinness Punch as well. Me and my belly will miss him.

Summary: Claudia's revenge (black reader)

I woke up in a lavish bed, it felt like I was in the clouds, it was cosy and warm. I stopped to realise that this was not my bed, it wasn't even my room, where was I? "No, she is a dangerous woman. Anyway how was your sleep?"

"Elvis I never knew you could sing and dance, I'm so proud of you" Elvis let out an awkward giggle before he replied.

"How have you never heard of me, even people from other countries know who I am"

"Well I could never afford a TV and I still can't, I'm not really into newspapers either."

His face dimmed.

" I will get a hundred TV's just for you my dear" I giggled before looking down at my body, I was wearing a silk night gown that must have costed a fortune.

"Elvis, I can't pay you back for this night gown, I can't even afford a dress that made from table clothes ,never mind a SILK night gown!"

"Honey, you don't have to pay for anything, I just wanna look after you"

I nervously smiled before he picked me up bridal style and took me to a luxurious bathroom, it had the biggest bathtub I had ever seen. He sat me on the edge of the bathtub.

"Elvis what are you doing" I said as I tilted my head and gave him puppy eyes.

"Imma give ya a nice warm bath, now lift ya arms up honey."

I hesitated but complied. He took my silk dress of and tosse it on the marble floor. I was now naked in front of a man that was 7 years older than me. You could tell she was just using him for his money. Claudia gave you a cold death stare before storming off downstairs. I was just in the middle of all of this and I didn't know what was going on. I tapped Elvis on the shoulder before speaking, "Elvis why is she so mad, did I do something?" I said with my poor puppy eyes the were tearing up from being overwhelmed. Evis took me into a deep hug before letting go and saying, "It's not your fault, I've just that me and Claudia have arguments sometimes" I nodded in agreement before Elvis escorted me to the closet. He opened the grand closet to reveal the most perfect dresses I could have ever dreamed of. My jaw was on the floor. Elvis giggled at my reaction. He stepped forward, he was now right behind me, I could feel his unbuttoned pants on my ass. I wasn't to fond of Claudia due to her actions to me recently. But u just sucked it up before I was about to walk into the large kitchen when I saw two women. Of course the blonde, two faced one was Claudia but another block haired woman sat next to her on the dining table. I was having a blast, the wind pushed my long curls back, the dress was now dirty and had horse hairs all over, and my socks were muddy. As I slowed the horse down, I saw Elvis standing behind the field gate with a smile across his face. I rode the horse towards him before dismounting the horse. I was quick to plead to him, "Elvis I'm so sorry that I ruined my clothes and I should have asked to go on the horse, I'm sorry!" Elvis giggled, "Honey it's alright, I'm really impressed with you"

"What do you mean"

"I ain't never seen a girl as courageous as you, and I definitely ain't seen a girl that knows how to ride a horse like you do, I dont even think I can go that fast"

"Oh thankyou, I wasn't brought up to be a lady haha" I said while itching the back of my head awkwardly. Elvis had an idea, "hey let's go on my motorbike I wanna drive you around" I looked confused before replying, "I know how to ride a motorbike Elvis, I'm not that dumb"

"Oh, well I guess I will give you your own to ride" I jumped up and clapped excitedly.

I sat on the leaver seat of the motor bike, without thinking I sped of without a helmet, I turned around to see Elvis following me with a worried look on his face, he sped up his motorbike to be right next to mine before saying, "Hey ya can't ride without a helmet, you might hurt yourself!"

"Don't be silly Elvis, I don't give a damn about no health and safety!" I said while giggling.

"Ok then honey!"

I wanted to show of to Elvis, I shouted over to him, "Hey Elvis watch this!" Elvis looked confused. I slowly stood up on the motorbike whilst it was going full speed on the private road, when I was fully standing with my bare feet on the leather seat, I began doing cute dance moves to show of even more. I turned to look at Elvis who was in shock, he shouted over to me, "Be careful honey, shit!" I laughed at how worried he was before sitting myself back down. When we got back to Graceland it was the evening and the horses were in their stables. Me and Elvis arrived, I parked the motorbike and turned it off as elvis did the same. Elvis said to me, "Don't ever scare me like that when you stood up on the damn thing" he said whilst giggling. I responded, "Death is scared of me, not the other way round, and I live how I wanna live, I don't care about health and safety" I said whilstI giggled with Elvis. We headed inside Graceland. I went to the bedroom that I now claimed as mine, I quickly stripped of my dirty clothes leaving them on the red carpet. I jumped in the bed and quickly fell asleep.

The next morning I had woken up and Elvis was nowhere to be seen, I had just assumed that he was probably out buying Claudia all of her needs as usual. I was still in nightgown when Claudia suddenly stood in front of me with a wide grin on her face.

"Heyyyy Aria, I want you to come with me on a road trip, just me, you, and Carmella, my best friend." I didn't even have time to respond before she nudged me back into my room, urging me to get dressed. I had picked out some short shorts and a crop top. I put it on and I lastly put on my old cheap shoes. But then fear rushed through my body when I remembered what Claudia and her friend Carmella were talking about yesterday. My only thought was to call Lana. I ran to the telephone whilst I forcefully dialled Lana's number, she didn't pick up, it was sent straight to voice mail. I left a voice mail, "Lana please help me, its a long story but Elvis's girlfriend is gonna kill me, she is planing to take me out on a 'road trip' her freind is coming too, they will kill me I'm telling ya, whenever you get this call Elvis presley, his number is **************, please just hurry I don't have time!" I put the telephone down after I sent the voice mail. I had to compose myself, I wiped my tears and headed downstairs where I was met with Clauidia and Carmella. They both giggled when they saw me in my poor clothes. I couldn't say no to them because they would have just killed me in the house instead of on the 'road trip'.

We where almost there, my heart was pumping like the speed of light, a teardrop fell down my cheek wich Carmella seemed to notice, they both giggled at my powerless self. Suddenly the car came to a stop. The girls both got out before opening the door and dragging me out, pushing me onto the sandy ground, I observed my surroundings. It looked like I was in a dessert but I could still see the large buildings in the distance. I was crying and screaming, the girls just pulled me up off the ground and began to beat me black and blue. I had just accepted that this was the moment that I was going to die, they will either leave me here to die or the will beat me to death. My vision was going blurry, the world around me was spinning, and I could just hear the girls that were towering over my almost lifeless body, they were yelling a bunch of slurs at me, pulling my hair, kicking me, cat fighting. I didn't even realise the blue lights that flashed behind the two girls. The girls suddenly stopped attacking me when a lot of tall men in a blue uniform cuffed them and shoved them in the back of the cars. I could barely make out what was happening, I felt people lift me and put me into a hospital van, the last two faces I saw that day were Lana's and Elvis's infuriated faces.

I woke up in an all white room and I could hear beeping noses all around, I was in so much pain and agony. I got the strength to open my eyes and look at my body, I was in a hospital dress that the patients usually wore, I had a cast on my leg and arm, there was a rather large machine next to me that was taking some blood out of the vein in my arm. I looked up and around the room to see Lana and Elvis looking down at me with tears in their eyes. I instantly began to cry, I quietly said Lana's name, she heard it and leaned over to me to hug me tight, she pulled away and placed a kiss on my swollen cheek whilst pushing my curls away from my face. She began to frantically apologise, "Oh Aria, I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you, I hadn't been with you recently since I had gotten a new job, I'm so sorry, this should have never have happened, just wait till I get my hands on those bitches!" She sobbed as her teardrops fell onto my collar bone. I nodded at her when I realised Elvis was there to, he hugged me tight and did his own little speech as well.

It would be a long time for me to fully heal, but what would happen after is unknown.

On the the Western side, I give zero fucks about how white people feel. Bitch, you ransacked & destabilized our countries, & so we are left w8th coming to your lands to partake in the resources (OUR resources) that you stole. These are your chickens coming home to roost, so fuck you 🖕🏿🤬🖕🏿

However, in tue immigrant side.... As an immigrant myself, I'm of 2 minds about this.

On one side, I understand the how many of us desires to flee our conditions. I was a child of immigrants that came to Amerikkka from Jamaica 🇯🇲. I was well aware of the livity of sufferation in JA.

My family came here, under the tutelage of Marcus Garvey, worked hard & did rather well. My mother was a nurse, & my father was in construction. They sent money & other resources back home. They put me thru school, by doing Sou-Sou. And now, I am doing very well in my career. And I am planning to move to Africa.

On the other side, I know how poorly we can be treated when we go to these Babylon places. None of what was said in this vid is news to me. We saw it with Ukraine. We saw it with Haitians 🇭🇹coming to Amerikkka.

In case we need a reminder:

This was 3yrs ago, not 30yrs, or even 300yrs.

This is the unknown/unseen reality that many immigrants don't foresee. The reality is, nothing can prepare many of us for the horrors that many of us will face when we journey to the west. That's because most of us fall into the "heavenly" western narrative, that this is the land of milk & honey, when it many cases, it's just as bad as where you came from.

I recently hired a Nigerian 🇳🇬 guy for team. He's a great worker with excellent character. He loves to work hard, even double shifts, & he's SUPER smart. He works so hard to send money back to his family back home.

However, I recently learned that he was sleeping in the break room after his shifts, because his housing situation is less than desirable. He can barely afford to pay for the over expensive rent rates in our area, & his land (slum) Lord treats him like crap.

The sad thing, is he is tolerating it, because he believes it's temporary. Little does he know, it's not.

Nobody here in Babylon is happy. Whether you're "native" to Amerikkka, 9r you're an immigrant. It's all perpetual slavery. Most of us leave a less than ideal scenario, just to come to a place with even more horrific circumstances.

No one thinks they will come here to be left on the streets, or chased down by racist white men on horseback, or (for women) sex trafficked by dirty rapists & pedophiles.

If your idea is to come to the West to escape the conditions of your native land, that's a recipe for disaster.

I highly recommend only coming here with a long term plan. Come here, make money, gain skills, & then take those resources back to your home.

Otherwise, you WILL become a slave to this place.

Duane Henry, who played Clayton Reeves in NCIS, told KCLU that he experienced homelessness himself and now is focused on helping others.

He played M16 Intelligence Operative Clayton Reeves in NCIS.

But for Duane Henry, the path to small screen success wasn’t paved with gold.

"I'm from a small city in Birmingham. Very working class, blue-collared," he told KCLU.

Henry said he grew up on the same street as rock star Ozzy Osbourne - but that's where their similarities end.

"I come from a predominant West Indian background. You know, my granddad came from Jamaica in the Windrush era in the mid to late 60s, so I'm black British Caribbean descent. So yeah, it was tough," said Henry.

The actor said he was raised by a single mom, who welcomed him as a teenager.

"I grew up in a single parent household. My mum had me when she was young -16. She was always my protector, and so I didn't really know the ins and outs of any struggles until I got a bit older and looked back and was like, 'Oh wow, we went through it', you know? But at the time, I think as long as you have love it kind of cushions a lot of this stuff, you know? So yeah, it was a bit tough growing up. Didn't always have what I wanted, but I had what I needed apparently," he said.

Before landing his big break as the series regular role on the hit military police procedural series, Henry found himself homeless.

"I was homeless! The first year I got here [California] was very tough. I met a couple of friends, you know, couch surfing, trying to figure it out. And Hollywood wasn't as glamorous as I thought it was. I thought it was going to be paved with gold and everything was amazing. But no, the reality hit me. I was like, damn, it's tough here," he said.

"There's a lot of people struggling and going through it. And I guess it was just I was just a bit naïve when I first got here, but I used that drive even more to figure it out. So it was tough - the homelessness, you know, and I'd been homeless on and off for a while. Everyone's been through this. It's not just me. I'm not special. People have been homeless before. Fortunately, I didn't obviously have to stay on the streets, but there were times where I'd crash in a car or two or just stay up," he said.

By day, he was living the Hollywood dream – even auditioning with Jennifer Lopez. He’s now turned his experience of not having a place to call his own, without security or privacy, into seeking ways to help others in the same position and has become an advocate for those who find themselves experiencing homelessness amid rising prices and a lack of affordable housing, especially in Santa Barbara, where he now lives.

"It's always stuck with me. So I've always said, no matter what it's going to happen in my life, I'm always going to resonate with the homeless," he said.

"Even in London I was homeless, I was in emergency accommodation. I was there probably for about a month or 2 or 3 months. I don't know what it was. A lot of vulnerable people in there, and even when I was living now, I was still acting. I'm still doing my thing. I did a Michael Winterbottom film called The Road to Guantanemo, in Iran, which was incredible. I was in Tehran," he said.

"I love Santa Barbara. They're going to set precedents in terms of what we're doing with the homeless community here with the self contained tiny homes. They haven't seen it being done anywhere else, so it's a great launching pad, and I'm glad to be a part of it, even if I can just lend my voice on my face when and how I could," said Henry.

"I always have like, not a handout, but hand up."

And while Henry might have his eyes on the stars, he is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.
