I am the kind of person who goes to a party and ends up getting into a disagreement over whether Berlioz!Faust and Marguerite ever actually manage to have sex (they absolutely do, the duet they sing in part 3 basically represents it*).
I am also the kind of person who goes to the kind of parties where this conversation is likely to happen, so that's nice for me.
*The duet ends with him singing "viens, viens" and her singing "ah, je meurs" so like. Yeah. I am, however, open to the possibility that Faust doesn't actually get to finish before Mephistopheles interrupts them.

Not me listening to Chonny’s Ruler of Everything cover and imagining Soul and Mind singing it together
I like to think this takes place back when they were more… mentally stable to say the least.
Bonus doodle of Soul and Heart doing the fast part together (Heart’s not good at it but he’s trying)

Song Review: The Richard Thompson Acoustic Trio - “(I Want To See) The Bright Lights Tonight” (Live)
Chances are, you did not see the Richard Thompson Acoustic Trio in Honolulu.
But you’ll be able to hear it when Live from Honolulu* is released Aug. 26.
“(I Want To See) The Bright Lights Tonight,” originally recorded with then-wife Linda Thompson, is the lead single and finds Richard Thompson in terrific shape on guitar and vocals with equally solid backing from Danny Thompson on upright bass and Michael Jerome on percussion (not drums).
This stripped-down version is sinewy - leisurely loping across its three-minute runtime, leaving the small audience enthused and Sound Bites ready to spend some money.
* There’s no info on when this LP was recorded; but you still probably weren’t there

I think songs like peace, seven, the archer, the 1, DBATC are songs that could be the "surprise song" on rotation but not guarunteed. I am curious if she does a mashup like the love story/ybwm/style on rep tour and what songs will be mashed together though
I’m sure she’ll do some sort of mashup/medley thing since she’s done a number of them across her previous tours. I think she’s going to try to play the new stuff, throw in some fan favorites (which could be like the surprise songs) and of course the “staple songs” like Love Story. The way it would manifest, I have no idea. I feel like songs from folklore and evermore would be played during an acoustic or stripped down set and I wonder if she would mix the songs up a bit to play as many of them as she could over the course of the tour. I also think that she’s itching to play songs off of Lover and maybe some select vault songs too. She does like to reimagine the production of songs, so we could get different versions of the newer stuff. Whatever it ends up being, it will surely be fun!
