hey i just wanna say, its nice to know other people get fucked over by the 'spices' label on shit at the store. it sucks but you aren't alone in being screwed over by corporations keeping secrets. (i'm allergic to capsaicin, the spicy chemical in chili peppers)
hopefully ur safe food will never be out of stock when you go looking
It is very nice to know I'm not the only one with allergies the "spices" label make very hard to handle, and I'm sorry you're also in this unfortunate group I'm not allergic to capsaicin myself but I can't tolerate it well because it's a vasodilator, so if I eat spicy food it tanks my blood pressure. So, like, not the same, but I know I personally have a lot of trouble figuring out the spice levels of foods I buy, and that's with me being able to tolerate some capsaicin. I'm sure it's a lot harder to try to figure out when you're allergic to it. I hope your safe food is always in stock and never changes their ingredients!

Unit V: Biological Solutions
This was my introduction when I was in my biotech program… ah the memories.
Tris buffers change pH significantly with changes in temperature. The pH of a Tris buffer will decrease approximately 0.028 pH units with every 1 deg C increase in temperature.
The pH of buffers changes with dilution. The pH of Tris buffer decreases about 0.1 pH units for every tenfold dilution. Generally the change in pH of Tris when it is diluted is not a problem, so Tris buffers are often mixed as concentrated stock solutions. If this dilution effect is a problem, then the use of stock solutions should be avoided.
Tris buffers require a compatible electrode for accurate pH determination. Some manufacturers recommend using a calomel (mercury) reference electrode rather than a silver/silver chloride electrode.
We will use HCl to bring Tris to the right pH, but other acids can also be used specifically for applications. For example, boric acid, citric acid, and acetic acid can be used to prepare Tris-borate, Tris-citrate, and Tris-acetate buffers, respectively.
Me; I understand very little of that but I do understand pH, buffers, solutions, electrode, acid.
But very cool! If ya give me a minute I can go grab my book and ask ya a number to choose from.

coward. tell us the vinegar
Vinegar (formerly also called eisel) is an aqueous solution of acetic acid and trace compounds that may include flavorings. Vinegar typically contains from 5% to 8% acetic acid by volume.[1] Usually, the acetic acid is produced by a double fermentation, converting simple sugars to ethanol using yeast, and ethanol to acetic acid using acetic acid bacteria.[2] Many types of vinegar are made, depending on source materials. The product is now mainly used in the culinary arts as a flavorful, acidic cooking ingredient, or in pickling. Various types are used as condiments or garnishes, including balsamic vinegar and malt vinegar.
As the most easily manufactured mild acid, it has a wide variety of industrial and domestic uses, including functioning as a household cleaner.[1]

Gum base
Gum base is the non-nutritive, non-digestible, water-insoluble masticatory delivery system used to carry sweeteners, flavors, and any other substances in chewing gum and bubble gum. It provides all the basic textural and masticatory properties of gum.
The actual composition of a gum base is usually a trade secret. The FDA allows 46 different chemicals under the umbrella of "gum base."[1][2] The chemicals are posted on their website. These chemicals are grouped into the following categories.
Synthetic coagulated or concentrated latices: Polymers such as butadiene-styrene, vinyl acetate, polyethylene, paraffin, and petroleum waxes are the most commonly used gum bases on the market today. They are petroleum-derived polymers which are designed to maximize elasticity and incorporate other components of the gum base as well as flavors and sweeteners in their chemical matrix.[3]
Plasticizing materials (softeners): These materials generally help to emulsify various chemical components that do not always bind to each other. They are generally medium-sized molecules and are frequently esters of tree resins and rosins.
Terpene resins: This specific subcategory is not fundamentally different from materials in the first two categories except it is a specific substance that can be produced both naturally and artificially.
Preservatives: The most common antioxidant preservative in gum, BHT, functions by scavenging free radicals (which spoil food) and sequestering them behind its sterically hindering tert-butyl groups.[4]
Natural coagulated or concentrated latices of vegetable origin: These include many of the resins such as chicle that were traditionally chewed as gum. It also includes natural waxes like beeswax and latex (natural rubber). These natural sources of gum base have largely been replaced by synthetic, petroleum-derived gum bases.
Gum bases for chewing gum are different from those for bubble gum. A bubble gum base is formulated with the ability to blow bubbles; it contains higher levels of elastomers or higher molecular weight polymers for this purpose. Gum bases for antacid use calcium carbonate as a filler, while gum bases for acid flavored gum use talc as a filler, since acids can react with calcium carbonate to produce carbon dioxide gas, which is undesirable.
Bubble gum usually contains 15–20% gum base, while chewing gum contains 20–25% gum base and sugar-free chewing gum contains 25–30% gum base.
Researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and at Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company are studying the possibility of making gum base with biodegradable zein (corn protein).[5]
Large chewing gum manufacturers generally produce their own gum base in-house while small chewing gum producers usually buy gum base from third-party suppliers.

Apparently one of the inactive ingredients in the new (to me) manufacturer’s version of fludrocortisone is made from something which is made from something made from acetic acid, but the acetic acid is waaaaay more concentrated than it is in vinegar. So, probably overall a very tiny amount of acetic acid in the medication, but I am very very sensitive to acetic acid, and I’ve been dosing myself with it for more than a week. Good news is I now know what the problem probably is and can avoid it!  I forgot to include this earlier and always forget people aren’t as familiar with my allergies as I am, but I am allergic* to vinegar, more specifically to the acetic acid in vinegar. *probably not a true IgE mediated allergy, probably more of a histamine-liberator-causing-mast-cell-degranulation kind of problem, but the treatment is antihistamines and occasionally steroids to prevent anaphylaxis, which has happened before (not from vinegar), so I just call them allergies.

Five Popular Uses of Acetic Acid
A colourless liquid with a distinctly sour flavour is acetic acid. Although this acid is most frequently associated with vinegar, it also has many other uses in numerous industries.
An organic substance, acetic acid is a colourless liquid. It smells fairly strongly and has a very distinct sour flavour. It is most well-known for being the key ingredient in household vinegar since it gives such vinegar its distinctive flavour. Acetic acid manufacturers in India, like Finar, are in demand as it is widely used.
Every home in the entire world uses acetic acid in some way or another. A methyl group is joined to a carboxyl group to form acetic acid, a straightforward carboxylic acid. It was highly regarded for its therapeutic qualities and was utilized as an early form of antibiotic many years ago. Because vinegar has antibacterial and anti-fungal effects, environmentally aware homes frequently prefer it to store-bought cleaning products.
The Top Applications for Acetic Acid
It's logical that vinegar, which is most strongly linked with this product, should be at the top of the list. A typical vinegar contains between 5% and 20% acetic acid, with the degree of dilution indicating the strength (known as grain strength). As a result, vinegar with an acetic acid content of 8% will gain 80 gain strength and be marketed as such.
All kinds of vinegar, from pickling vinegar to stronger table vinegar to more concentrated versions, include acetic acid. However, by no means is acetic acid's presence in vinegar its primary application; it is merely the most effective.
While acetic acid food preservation helps preserve canned items, it also accomplishes a great deal more. This vital component is found in many products, not only for its flavour but also for its antibacterial properties. Salad dressings, sauces, cheeses, and pickled foods frequently include acetic acid.
Acetic acid works as a leavener in bread and other baked goods when combined with baking soda. Aerated bubble creation is not sparked by baking soda on its own. Acetic acid causes bread to rise and cakes to become more spongy.
Here are some instances of how acetic acid is used specifically in food production:
More specifically, salt and acetic acid chips are known as salt and vinegar chips. The strong smell and intensely sour flavour of salt and vinegar chips demonstrate the prevalence of acetic acid as a flavour enhancer. Vinegar contains at least 4% acetic acid.
Consuming sushi and other "raw" foods that have been marinated in diluted acetic acid is safer since it reduces the risk of salmonella contamination. The acid denatures proteins, causing them to disintegrate and reform into new structures that cause the proteins to coagulate without the use of heat to cook the meat. With pickled eggs, the same coagulation takes place.
Many fruits and vegetables change colour when acetic acid is diluted. Acetic acid maintains the white flesh of apples and potatoes when they are freshly sliced, while red fruits and vegetables become bright and dark green veggies take on an olive appearance.
Finar is one of the most trustworthy chemical manufacturers. Among many of its products, they are also known as the top tetraethyl orthosilicate supplier in the country. Its years of experience and expertise have enabled many industries to flourish with top-quality products.
Finar is also known to be one of the top Diisopropanolamine manufacturers in India, as its expertise is spread over a variety of industries.
