Neighbouring Italy is also facing a rough go - they diagnose 37,809 new cases, surpassing records set during the country’s deadly spring wave.

The US Election

Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, and Nevada remain uncalled. With some outlets calling Arizona for Biden, he sits at 264 electoral votes - and all eyes turn to Nevada whose 6 votes could send him to the White House who are tallying their votes at a near glacial pace. In Georgia, newly-counted ballots give Joe Biden the slimmest of leads over Donald Trump - just 1,000 votes.
