I know this is purely because of cast size, and people playing multiple parts is an inherent part of most musicals, but even if only on a meta level it is kinda' fun that 4 of the 5 Lords in Black basically appear to Steph, Pete, and Grace while wearing the faces of Max Jagerman's victims, visceral reminders of the destruction Max has left in his wake and why he must be stopped.

I need to make Monk gifs, but what really wrecks me is that he *loves* the physical comfort from people, when he can relax enough to accept it... I bet, before Trudy's death, Monk and Leland were more physical, since even after all the trauma Monk still goes for him for physical comfort: hugs, hand touches, just general "please hold me"...

Whats your opinion on alters (did/osdd traumagenic systems) formed from your aus? Since alters can't really control their source asking for a friend/lh
Go off, do your thing, feel free, etc etc etc. It doesn't bother me, if that's a concern. I've had a couple people tell me they have fictives from some of my AU's chilling in their heads and if anything I think it's kinda fun and funky and exciting to hear about? So far I'm aware of a Gemini!Mikey and a Swanatello out there in the world.

I think there's a lot to be said about games that take themselves seriously 24/7 vs games that have a little humor, especially horror.
Let's take Lethal Company for example, very fun game. It entirely depends on you and your group's ability to take it seriously. With people who take it seriously it's just dead silence between everyone when they collect scrap, or very minimal talking. With people who don't it's just joking around with friends, like usual, it makes the sense of dread where you can't tell if someone's out of range, dead, or being quiet to play a prank on you. All 3 of those things are likely!
In the same way, I think that's why Voices of the Void hits so hard for me. I like space, it's a pretty space-themed game. There's no hard objective, you can say fuck the signals and just go do donuts in your parking lot on the ATV the entire day. As @eliias-bouchard put it, "The game lets you choose exactly how much horror is in it, and yet revokes that choice constantly". You can turn the radar completely off if you want, ignore every monster or non threatening wisp outside, for better or for worse. You can choose to ignore signals entirely and make a living off fishing or mining if you want. You don't need to reset the power, but you likely will anyways, and I think that goes for most of these things. Fishing is fun, sure, but you could make a lot more money per day by doing the daily task. Most people couldn't live without the radar, either. The amount of blind-spots around the base just makes either it or an absurd amount of cameras necessary.
I feel like I'm talking in circles here but it's a very good game, both on the surface and the more I look at the way the game is actually designed. It's free on Itch.io and I suggest checking it out if you have the time.

wow, a post that makes some great points but does so with a) an obvious lack of knowledge about, or willingness to engage with, anything but the worst parts of what it's criticizing, and not any of the counterexamples or lively debate or recent efforts to improve things, and b) so much contempt for something that is dear to me. i wish i could reblog the like 20% of this that i agree with without any of that other stuff

I’ve got a hot take; either I want DnDads s3 to be relatively low stakes, or I want it to not have anything to do with the families we spent the last two seasons on at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love these families and I’d love to see The Teens as adults, but as long as their story keeps going, it doesn’t get a happy ending, and my god do they deserve a happy ending. They all do.

one of my favorite Akihiro bits is that he gets. SO mad when people imply he's insane or compare him to people like Bullseye or Sabretooth or his dad and acts like he's super calm and always in control when the reality is that in a fight if something doesn't go his way he IMMEDIATELY loses his cool and starts going apeshit violent. Like okay sure you're not like your father. Sure.

The idea that a psychiatrist would refuse to raise your schizophrenia medication after you start having increasing and escalating symptoms is ridiculous on its own, but the idea that they would recommend you lean into your hallucinations is frankly dangerous.
