The @911memorial is not an easy visit, but it's a necessary visit to remember and honor those who perished, as well as their friends and families who carry and share their memories in memoriam. @fdny @nypd @papd911 #911 #september11 #911memorial #911memorialmuseum #911museum #worldtradecenter #oneworldtradecenter #memorial #nyc #newyorkcity #igersnyc #newyork #newyorknewyork #funcity #bigapple #nyc #manhattan #skyscrapers #nycgram #nycgrammers #city #citygrammers #citygram (at National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center Foundation) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcEr27VsGOU/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

9/11 A day to remember. For Americans 9/11 was a challenging day in our history. With almost 3,000 deaths many Americans were affected this day when 4 planes were highjacked and crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. . . For me, I was in elementary school and had just visited the towers a few weeks prior. My family lived just across the water. I’ve always had a tie to NYC since that is where my dad was born and raised. . . Now the World Trade Center area is pretty much rebuilt with a memorial and museum that is a must visit during a NYC trip. You can also visit the Freedom Tower which offers views of the downtown area. . . #worldtradecenter #911museum #freedomtower #oneworldtradecenter #911memorial #visitnyc #remembrance #patriotsday #ig_nyc #downtownnyc #groundzero #travelingteacher #historyteacher #citizenfemme #travelgirlshub #thedreamytravels #girlpowertravel #thetravelcollab #damestravel #girldiscoverers #gltlove #wearetravelgirls #athomeintheworld #speechlessplaces #traveltagged #travelalways #travelmoments #traveltribe #traveldreamseekers #realtravelseekers (at World Trade Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFASr2NAaju/?igshid=7oqf529bqk79

The original World Trade Center was a large complex of seven buildings in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States. It opened on April 4, 1973, and was destroyed in 2001 during the September 11 attacks. At the time of their completion, the Twin Towers—the original 1 World Trade Center, at 1,368 feet (417 m); and 2 World Trade Center, at 1,362 feet (415.1 m)—were the tallest buildings in the world. Other buildings in the complex included the Marriott World Trade Center (3 WTC), 4 WTC, 5 WTC, 6 WTC, and 7 WTC. The complex contained 13,400,000 square feet (1,240,000 m2) of office space. On the morning of September 11, 2001, Al-Qaeda-affiliated hijackers flew two Boeing 767 jets into the North and South Towers within minutes of each other; two hours later, both towers collapsed. The attacks killed 2,606 people in and within the vicinity of the towers, as well as all 157 on board the two aircraft. Falling debris from the towers, combined with fires that the debris initiated in several surrounding buildings, led to the partial or complete collapse of all the buildings in the complex, and caused catastrophic damage to ten other large structures in the surrounding area. During its existence, the World Trade Center was an icon of New York City. It had a major role in popular culture and according to one estimate was depicted in 472 films. Following the World Trade Center's destruction, mentions of the complex were altered or deleted, and several dozen "memorial films" were created. [WIKIPEDIA] George L. ZONA CERO
vimeo

When I had the opportunity to visit the #911museum in #nyc I was overwhelmingly moved, sad and in disbelief. But I was also awed by the sacrifices, courage and love that poured through the exhibits. But this wall and it message really summed up what I wanted to say and how I wanted to feel when I left. #neverforget #911 (at National September 11 Memorial & Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2S_gg0nnLe/?igshid=ejihsbjot8qu

'Life changes fast. Life changes in the instant. You sit down to dinner and life as you know it ends.'- Joan Didion I learned at 11 that life is a before and after, which is why this quote has always resonated with me. To all those whose life became a before and after on this September day, my heart breaks for you. #september11 #neverforget #911museum #worldtradecenter #911reflectingpool #reflectingabsence #michaelarad #paulwalker #newyork #nyc #batterypark #worldtradecenter #joandidion #infinitymirrors (at 9/11 Memorial Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2RxSPMD7hk/?igshid=227hg1kf5d53
