BMG UK president Alistair Norbury's interview with Headliner - "Why Artists Are Flocking To the Music Industry's Most Unique Label"
BMG is positioning itself as the label for artists who want respect, transparency in marketing, and creative control. We'll see.... They're touting a new model somewhere between major label and indie, that specializes in elevating the reach of its artists.
Tbh, I don’t see what BMG did to elevate Louis. I see what Louis' fans did.
So Kylie brought in Louis, who brought in Rita Ora. An artist word of mouth campaign, is the story. Just thinking about that BBCR1 interview with Nick and Harry where they make fun of Rita Ora angling to share her thirst trap photo.
Also, loving the alarm we cause the label - you're goddammit right we are WATCHING YOU:
PS - do better at your promo for Louis, we all agree it is virtually nonexistent. I signed up on his website and went to a concert and I hsve yet to receive a single email.
My friend Mai won lawn seats from the radio to a Journey concert in Canandaigua, N.Y. About halfway through the show, it started pouring! 💦💦💦 We danced in the rain and got soaked. We laughed so hard, we almost wet our pants. It was nice for a change not to be fighting for front row access to take pictures, but just enjoying the music 🎶
