Nifty appears to be consolidating in the 15,600–15,900 range: analysts
Top winners and losers in the broader market
Happiest Minds, Just Dial, Vakrangee, Mindtree, Mphasis and Coforge were winners in the field, while Quess Corps, Shilpa Medicare, Edelweiss Financials, Max Financial, Oberoi Realty and Bank of India were under selling pressure.
There may be a sharp correction or the bull may keep running. Whatever the result, security lies in high-quality largecaps that now only move slowly, rather than smallcaps that fly away. There is a bubble in small caps that will end badly for new retail investors chasing those small caps. Investors can book some gains and invest the money in fixed income securities and continue to invest in high quality largecaps in the IT, metals, pharmaceuticals, cement and FMCG sectors

Zagato Unveils the IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo
Zagato, the Milanese coachbuilder, has revealed at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show the IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo, which was announced at the Grand Basel on August 31st. The new Zagato creation will be a drivable vehicle in Gran Turismo Sport, the latest chapter of the acclaimed Sony PlayStation game.
With the design of the new Vision Gran Turismo, the Zagato Atelier pays tribute to IsoRivolta - the renowned automaker from Milan - which during the golden era of automobiles, produced stunning Gran Turismo-class sports cars that combined sleek Italian designs with the brawn of American powertrains. Passion for racing, with luxury & reliability, was where they found their inspiration.
Now, with the IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo, Zagato closes the circle and takes us back to Milan, where, after World War II, the GT category of motorsport was conceptualized, created, and promoted by four illustrious Milanese figures: Count Giovannino Lurani, journalists Giovanni Canestrini and Corrado Filippini, and driver Elio Zagato, the father of Andrea, the current CEO of Zagato. This intermediate GT class hosted cars that were halfway between production touring saloons and racing purpose-built barchettas of international motorsport.
Zagato-bodied models – streamlined and lightweight coupes, successful in racing, but also comfortable enough for everyday use – found their natural place in the new GT category, monopolizing it and securing numerous wins. The Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo is the realization of a dream, and designed to race in the virtual world of the Gran Turismo Sport game.

Toyota hybrid sales surpass 15 million units worldwide
In 1995, Toyota unveiled a concept car with a hybrid powertrain at the 31st Tokyo Motor Show. Called the Prius, which derived from the Latin prefix meaning “to go before,” the project was led by Takeshi Uchiyamada to develop a car for the 21st century that not only achieved ground-breaking fuel efficiency, but also reduced greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful pollutants in the process.
Two years later, the first-generation Prius was launched in October 1997 as the world’s fist mass-produced hybrid passenger vehicle. Arriving around the time of the Kyoto Protocol signing, which aimed to limit greenhouse gas emissions, the four-door sedan was the right car that gave new momentum to the environmental movement.
It has been more than 25 years since the Prius burst onto the automotive scene, and in that time, Toyota has bolstered its line-up of hybrid electric vehicles significantly. Today, its range (including Lexus models) of cars with a hybrid powertrain now stands at 44.
More significantly, the company managed to hit a new milestone in January this year as it has sold a cumulative 15 million units of such vehicles worldwide. According to the company, its hybrid technology has managed to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 120 million tonnes worldwide to date when compared to sales of equivalent petrol vehicles.
Despite the achievement, Toyota isn’t slowing down and continues to refine its hybrid technology to achieve even lower emissions and ever-better fuel efficiency. Even so, the carmaker does not view hybrids as the only way forward, and has since expanded to provide plug-in hybrid, fuel cell and battery electric vehicles.
“Of course, we must work hard on improving battery performance and lowering costs (of BEVs), which we are doing. But we must avoid having no plan until we overcome the hurdles related to both BEVs and FCEVs. In the meantime, we can contribute by continuing our work on HEVs,” said Shigeki Terashi, chief officer of Toyota Motor Corporation.
Moving forward, Toyota is planning to launch 40 new or updated electrified vehicles by 2025, across all technologies, including at least 10 zero-emission vehicles. Its hybrid electric vehicles will remain a core part of the powertrain mix meeting customers’ needs and helping drive down emissions, reinforcing the ambition that led to the Prius existing more than 20 years ago.

Nissan's Leaf E-Plus may offer more range and extra power in 2019
Nissan's 2018 Leaf model upped the ante with a ProPilot Assist system and 150-mile travel range on full battery. That was a solid improvement compared to the original Leaf's 107 miles, and positioned it somewhere between the Hyundai Iconiq EV and Tesla's Model 3. Still, it left many hungry for a vehicle that could offer a longer range. Now, the best-selling EV maker has confirmed its 2019 model will boost mileage and battery power.
Brian Maragno, Nissan's director of Marketing and Sales Strategy told AutoGuide that the Leaf "E-Plus" will up the horsepower from 142BHP to 200BHP and will utilize a higher capacity battery. According to reports, battery power will rise from 40kW to 60kW. The E-Plus is also said to feature a 160kW electric motor and a fast-charging capacity that isn't currently part of the Leaf line-up.
While Maragno did not reveal exact figures on the E-Plus's range, it's been proposed as early as December 2017 that it will reach approximately 225 miles -- which would bring it more in line with the Model 3 and Chevy's Bolt EV.
For Leaf fans wanting a more sporty look, Nissan is also delivering on that front. At the Tokyo Game Show last year, the company first exhibited the Leaf Nismo -- a concept vehicle with a "fondness for song" that's based on the 2018 Leaf design. The 'Canto' (Latin for 'I sing') feature, which was built-in to insure pedestrian safety, changes the pitch of sounds depending on whether the Leaf is accelerating or decelerating. Although the Nismo didn't come with a release timeline, that's since changed. The Japanese company has recently announced it will be on sale in Japan beginning July 31st. There's no confirmation yet on when or if it will arrive on US shores.
At any rate, Nissan's strides toward improving its EV lineup could further cement its grip on the EV market and cause prospective owners less range-anxiety.
