ANIMANGA CREATORS CHALLENGE SEVENTEEN: CAFE AMC

(ft. vanitas no carte)

CAFE AMC is finally opening the doors for all our customers (challengers). We have prepared a number of prompts for this challenge, and you must order them in our Discord. To complete this challenge, you must create at least 3 edits following the prompts you will receive. It’s a permanent challenge BUT once you order one thing, you have a limited amount of time to complete it.

rules for this challenge (read carefully!)

1. each one of staff member has made up to 5 prompts and has been assigned  one of the goods that the Cafe sells.

2. each thing is worth X challenger points. For example, one coffee is worth 5 challenger points.

3. each challenger can buy anything they can afford on the menu by ordering in the #amc-cafe channel on our Discord.

4. the challenger points work like currency, so you can ask for as many stuff as points you have. For example: if I have 13 points, I can ask for 1 muffin (worth 5 points), 1 coffee (worth 5 points), and 1 tea (worth 3 points).

5. challengers can ask for the same thing more than once, but they'll get different prompts each time.

6. when the challenger decides to start this challenge and they ask for the first prompt, the amount of points they have at the moment will be noted down, and you won’t be able to use more than what you have at the moment, even if you earn more points after this. So choose the moment to start carefully, since you’ll need to complete at least 3 prompts to get the badge.

7. once you ask for 1 prompt, you have 30 days to complete it.

8. this is a permanent challenge, so you can start it at any time.

9. with posting same rules as usual apply.

10. you CANNOT ask for more than one prompt at a time. you need to post your edit in #creations before ordering something else at the cafe.

11. you don’t need to use all your challenger points. you can use less than what you have, as long as you complete three edits.

If you create 3 edits: 2 points If you create +5 edits: 3 points If you create +10: 5 points

I use they/them pronouns and I'm queer. I'm getting closer to my 30s and this is a side acc, I've been on tumblr for so long but I'm only now using this acc to go ahead and spam my obsessions.

The current one is Bungou Stray Dogs (and Vanitas no carte, Detective conan and other anime/manga) and I'm super into it these days. I'm also a big fan of Pandora Hearts and it's my favorite manga ever.

I'm also a fan of kpop (even if I'm not following anything atm except for Stray kids I still enjoy) and metalcore.

If you wanna add me or talk, I'm always open to talk about bsd and theories and other silly stuff.

I hope mikhail gets taken in by the christianos since 1 they need more power now that marco is gone(gal will die too one day hes in his 30's) and 2 i dont want mikhail to die hes 10. I know for a fact that he has attachment issues and if loretta shows him kindness he will follow her to hell

So I personally dislike Mikhail, which is strange bc I tend to like the creepy little boys (think: pride in fma manga or Misha in Vanitas no Carte), but for some reason I found Mikhail annoying in Gangsta. It's not his fault he's a literal child, possibly acting like a child wood. I was kinda hoping Nic would end up killing him by mistake 🫣. (I understand usually manga tends to spare little kids, but Gangsta is already seinen so that would have been pretty interesting to see older Nic murder a child.K

Unfortunately, Mikhail is only a burden now, with his legs gone. If someone should take pity on him, I hope it's not Loretta: she was already burned by her father taking in Marco, and Marco abandoning her and the Christianos where it counted. Marco was so important to her; he was like an older brother, so it wasn't just losing her strongest bodyguard.

But presumably, if Mikhail survives the massacre Uranos is about to inflict, it is likely someone will take care of him; perhaps once people rebuild Ergastulum he will be reintegrated into society by even the very twilights that do get to survive. So likely, he won't have a bad ending... I just don't want to burden my favorite Loretta with another person that may up and leave one day.

(it is likely he will survive I think, because it made more sense to kill him in the Erica vs Nic fight if Kohske intended for him to die. He's one of the characters that are "safe", I think.)

30 Days of VnC: Day 24!

Wow, I’m really late and completely out of order to this, but: what is a plot arc you’d like to see in the future, regardless of what you think is going to happen?

Luna is alive and they meet Noé. they’re also non-binary

The Teacher and Noé have a tea party with Ruthven. It’s extremely awkward because Ruthven wants to keep it passive aggressive but Teacher just wants it to be aggressive. They end up having a one on one duel. Luca, Jeanne, Dominique, and Noé are just sitting on the sidelines snacking macarons

Misha tries to attack Astolfo and their combined edginess just creates the most edgy fight scene ever

Dominique and Dante interaction, preferably in the next Misha/ Exposition arc :3333. Domi and Dante is absolutely my favorite brotp in the series. I just really want them to be friends. please.

Manet and Noé go on a date, I mean Vanitas got to go on a date Manet should too. It starts out awkward but Noé can be suave af if he tries. Vanitas and Dante team up to trail them

Murr is actually immortal and can transform into a vampire

Chloé and Jean- Jacques visit Paris. they’re both like “so this is a city, wow” and they meet Dominique and the Gang TM and they’re adorable and they go back to the dance hall the gang went to in Mémoire 12

ROLAND MEETS MISHA. ROLAND MEETS MISHA. RO—

Astolfo and Roland talk. Like they actually sit down and talk like people are supposed to. Astolfo has got to work through his issues somehow and talking isn’t the full solution but it’s a start.

Thirty Days of Vanitas no Carte #27 - Do You Want the Villains to be Redeemed in This Series?

The villains are pretty complex in the series so far (with the exception of Moreau, but maybe he'll surprise us later on), but that doesn't necessarily mean they ought to be redeemed in a traditional sense. Let's start with Ruthven. He's been the most overt villain to the reader, I'd say, but because we see so much of him we also have a slightly better idea of where he's coming from. Ruthven feels like a typical aristocrat in a lot of ways, but we know he is the diplomat that helped end the war between humans and vampires, so you'd think he'd be pretty high-minded. Except at some point either during or after the war he came to the exact opposite conclusion of what he once thought. Where once he was much like Noé in his sentiments ("I like vampires. And, in the same way, I like humans."), he's now decidedly more bitter. I think the simplest explanation is that he doesn't believe humans are honest in their desire for peace or, perhaps, he is more in agreement with Vanitas: he dislikes everyone equally. Even though Ruthven has somewhat sympathetic reasons for disliking humans (or just being jaded in general), it doesn't really make him any more of a good guy. In fact, he seems willing to sacrifice anyone, human or vampire, to get what he wants. Of course, the way he treated Noé is the most obvious example. He must think sparing him counts as a good deed (and, indeed, I think he is curious about Noé and sees himself in him), but most of us would look at that scene and feel horror. But should he be redeemed for that at the end of the series? Well, not in any way that makes what he's done all right, but I think Noé will have to confront what caused Ruthven's ideology in the first place and determine if he can really continue to like both humans and vampires as he does. I guess what I'm saying is that Ruthven is what Noé could be if he isn't careful, and thus his being redeemed wouldn't fit very well. Noé is more likely to be an example of what you can be when you're more ... forgiving? understanding? not Ruthven? So, in order to have that kind of juxtaposition, it necessitates Ruthven not being "redeemed." Now, let's take a look at Teacher. Mm, I want to say there's no way this guy is being redeemed and he hasn't technically done anything yet. XD But as to whether I want him to be: no. I just know he's manipulating Noé and that at least half the tragedy in Noé's life probably stems directly from him. We have almost complete confirmation that he's watching Noé through Murr, which means he hasn't lifted a finger to help his pupil, not even when he's nearly died. That doesn't make for a redeemable sort of person (although he's terribly interesting). Moreau is a straightforward no as well to be honest. Vanitas of the Blue Moon! Ahh, we know so little of her. I'm not sure if I want her redeemed or not, but I have a feeling her story will be so complex that she may be... not redeemed precisely, but maybe forgiven? Or she'll wind up superbly evil; the jury's still out on that one. And Astolfo... I kind of would like to see this fellow see the light and given a chance to right his wrongs. He's so young, but there is a lot of hatred in his heart. Even if I'd like to see him given a chance (and I'm sure Roland will at least try), I don't know if there's any helping him at this point. Misha strikes me as being completely crazy (I feel a little bad saying that...), but some serious intervention would be necessary to help that kid. Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing things get better for him since he's also pretty young and, most likely, a victim of circumstance. If, however, he succeeds in killing Dominique and depending on what else he does, I might wind up not wanting him redeemed either. XD Of course, the problem with all of this is the term "redemption." I'm using it to mean, essentially, that the story excuses or forgives the villain their wrongs, and considering how bad some of these wrongs are, I don't really want that. But if we mean it in the sense that they set things "right" and not that they are "forgiven..." Sure. That could actually be quite interesting. The series is already asking "What is love?" and "What is salvation?" Maybe we should add "What is redemption?" to the list just for good measure. (^^)"

30 Days of Vanitas no Carte: Day 11

Most stylish character?

I think we all agree that Dominique (the queen) de Sade is most deserving of this honor, so I’m moving down the list to the next most stylish character. ;)

“Stylish” might not be the right term here, but I love Votbm’s aesthetic. Their bracelets, flowing garments, mysterious hood, and unusual staff give them a striking appearance. It’s a uniquely wonderful look (like that of a wizard or enchantress) that suits their ambiguous characterization.

However, one of the most fashionable characters after Domi would be Antoine. The fellow knows how to dress sharp! Of course, it helps that he’s a naturally pretty vampire to begin with. ;)

30 Days of VnC: Day 22

22. What do you think happened to the Archivistes?

I think that some powerful group wanted to erase a important moment on history, so they decided to exterminate them.  Possibly they blamed another group.  So those who will tell us that they are the culprits, are not going to be.  There are many interesting abilities in the VnC world, but the Archivistes one seems to be particularly annoying for someone who wants to hide a secret.  I don't think it's by chance that his clan went extinct.

 What I can't locate is when.  If we calculate the age of Noé, it was recently, but we do not know if he is the age he appears to be, or if he did not make a jump in time.  Assuming none of these things happened, then the death of the Archivistes does not seem to coincide with any major event.  The war was over long ago, so humans can't be, that would spark another conflict. Unless the treaty states that they can exterminate vampires to rescue a human?  But for that they had to get into Altus Paris. Maybe it coincides with the queen's "illness"?  That sounds more likely.  Or maybe it was Vampire Vanitas who wanted to hide something.  If they belonged to that clan, it must be a distant relative, who knows how great a great grandmother.  I don't know why worry about that blood relationship now.

 Another possibility is that they did not want to hide something, if not rather prevent it from being discovered.  But in that case, someone should be trying to kill Noé right now.  I doubt that anyone would be able to harm Noé if he is under the protection of The Teacher.  It should be easier now.  So, the reason Ruthven invited Noé to lunch was not because of Vanitas, was for The Teacher.  It seemed that Ruthven intended to kill him, and then changed his mind.

It could be that Ruthven wanted to complete the Archivistes extermination, but decided to use his absolute obedience skill so that it isn't necessary.  After all, I don't think Noé's strength is that impressive.  Jeanne, Veronica, Ronald and Ruthven himself are more stronger.  The reason they didn't lose is because of Vanitas' intelligence.  This is the most likely scenario for me.

30 days of Vnc : Day 6

6. What do you think about Vanitas of the Blue Moon?

I like her a lot ! She saved Vani and Misha from Moreau’s laboratory, she raised them and taught them about malmomen although we don’t know why... And chapter 42 really showed us a more softer side of her, making her almost look like a mother- father figure for the two of them.

This panel on chapter 27 revealed something important : that Vanitas didn’t actually hate her. Meaning that he might have projected his hatred towards vampires ( chapter 18 when Misha asks him why he hates “father” he just answers “that woman is a vampire”) on her without ever realizing how kind and loving she was towards him. He was blinded by his hatred towards vampires and never saw her as what she trully was. Noé on one side is blinded by his love for his teacher not realizing that he might be using him, on the other side we have Vanitas, blinded by his hate towards vampires, not able to see the love she’s been giving him.

As to why she marked Vanitas, and thus provided him with a part of her power, it would either be because he asked her to, in order to use the book and carry out his will of killing vampires, only to save them after. Or she tasted his blood without him knowing that she was an archiviste.

In chapter 41, Vanitas refered to Chloé’s smiling face as something he’s seen before :” “it’s self satisfaction and self absorption. The face of someone who’s made an arbitrary decision to die alone” This sentence might be about the vampire the blue moon. In Chapter 42 she does say “ someday even after i’m gone” meaning she might have done something like Chloé. Thus why Vanitas hates her: he hates her for abandoning him. Or I’m just completely wrong 8D Since the mark is still there it probably means she’s still alive somewhere...

Now I also saw some posts about her bracelets that are the same as Naenia’s :

We’ve seen so far that is that Naenia possesses a link with the vampire of the red moon and maybe the queen herself. From what we can see in chapter 13, it appears that both the queen and the vampire of the blue moon share the same skin color meaning that they could be related. What if she was the queen’s sister for example ?

And then there is the theory about Noé being her child and I think that it is very likely to happen although i’m not sure. They share the same skin and hair color, she was possibly an archiviste and Noé was found alone in a forest where it is said that she had to hide in a forest alone. We can also add the fact that Noé finds the blue moon beautiful and his teacher said he never met a vampire acting the same way as him. Now we only need her eye color !

She’s just too beautiful I love her so much and I do believe she’ll end up being on of the nicest characters.
