#28op business

I noticed 28OP didn't use the emails they collected from us the other day to announce the drop (yet), but also a thought about that- based on shipping out promises (immediately according to the order confirmations) and Louis modeling these items recently, this drop was already manufactured in advance, and so unaffected by the size info they collected this week- but they can use that to gauge what to make for future drops and hopefully then larger sizes won't sell out so quickly. And we know when to expect them (every 28th) so even without emails people won't miss their chances if things do continue to sell out quickly

As a someone with a small (massive) English history obsession, you have no idea what it does to me when I remember that 28OP has been modelled on The Wars of the Roses.

Met and talked with Louis' manager at the Lolla . Had a mere 30 mins talk about Louis and smoked with him. A little teaser, he showed me a 28OP lighter and I'm like 🤯. He didnt disclosed that much info about Louis tho, he just says he a very very busy man, career-wise and family-wise (due to Phoebe). Fun fact, Louis actually smokes MORE than we think and it's very expensive 😬. I asked him if Louis does go to the gym or exercises and he said he or Rachel usually books sessions for Louis very late at night if they dont go to bars or to a party. That's Louis' go-to day-end plan either a bar or to a gym. We also talked about RR and I hate him so much for teasing but I don't think AOTV is the last time we'll see Louis in theathers 👀. Our convo ended when I asked him on why FITF didnt get that much more promo, he left and said "I gotta go, nice talking to you". This bitch, I swear....
ehm hello anon that’s.. quite a load of information. that I’m not super inclined to believe tbh. like.. which manager is even at lolla? and how would his manager know his smoking expenses? (and share that info randomly?) hmm..

I’m super sad. I thought I got the 28op sweater, got a confirmation email 2 minutes after it went on sale. Now I got an email saying my order was cancelled because it was already sold out. Oh well. 😔
I’m sorry ☹️
I see that that’s happened to a lot of people. They really need more stock, especially of the of the larger sizes. They also need to… not sell more than they have stocked? It’s bad business.

my dad ABSOLUTELY got me the ghosts book for christmas oh my god. i already was kinda 🧐🧐 bc he asked me how long things usually take to ship from the uk and it’s like. i never sent him the links to louis merch store or 28op so that really narrows down the options. but just now a package that is the exact size and weight of a book specifically the ghosts book arrived with the return address thing being some book store/business in the uk. and it’s. oh god oh god oh god

Spend your money how you want i would never judge its literly not my business but it's pretty funny some larries boycotting pleasing because of Palestine and whatever else but selling out 28op in minutes. I find that comical cause if you believe they're together then you know they share a bank account right? lol

Do you think Harry’s team feeds uas or has some fake fan accounts themselves? I’m still surprised how quickly we got information about some things, like how quickly russel was identified first time we got pictures which were blurry or the last one with poppy who you couldn’t see at all on the video? And sometimes we get only one blurry video or photo of them walking on a busy street, does anyone from their teams makes these photos or do locals just don’t care about harry and his new gf that much?
Hi!
Yes, absolutely! No doubt. And i think it's one of the things that fandom glosses over or simply are not that aware of is happening, because it's seems so organic and plausible.
I think they feed uas, i think they feed deuxmoi and other gossip sites. Louis' team does that too and 1D did, so it's a practice that's been going on since the beginning. They also run some uas, they pose as fans on social medias who spots the pr couple doing things, they take blurry pics of them that looks like a fan who "caught them" at the right moment. They pay fans or "fans" to do their bidding. They feed stalkers their location or pays them to show up (most famously the LSC). If you think the emrata kiss was filmed by a fan who just happened to be at the right place at the right time, think again. I even recognise some of the account names they've used for spottings for other stunts way back lol. They're not as slick as they think they are. But fandom doesn’t notice these things, unless you've been here awhile and start to see patterns.
More innocently they make deals with bigger uas. This for that deals. You should see my major sideye when hld made the decision to change their quote account to a fashion account right before we got all this *oewe nonsense. Now they plug pleas*ng, 28op and last but not least loe*e. I think a deal was made there. They've for some reason also started to publish stunt pics without cropping them like they used to. I see some grumbling about that from larries on twitter. I figure it's because they're wearing *oewe. They are helping to promote the brand, not the relationship (hld are larries after all). I might be wrong about this, but as i said, major sideeye here.

Yeah larries do reinforce stereotypes but so many larries don’t like being soft about Louis or calling him too many cute things 😭 when I used to be friends with larries and a fan of Harry back then too, they would get upset at me for calling Louis cute names or thinking he was a soft sweetheart. If I did the same with Harry, they thought that was perfectly reasonable and fine. It’s part of the reason why I stopped associating with larries. It was incredibly annoying and very telling of their opinion of Louis that I couldn’t call Louis cute nicknames but they wanted all the cute things for Harry. I know plenty of other Louies who had a similar experience, whether they were a larrie or not. We had a larrie get roasted in louie fandom last year for saying not to use baby filters on a picture of Louis, because the picture was of him unshaven. Because they apparently didn’t like or know his face without a beard, he looked too baby for them, that didn’t suit their image of manly man Louis being the husband to their soft cute little wife Harry. Just recently a larrie decided that a pillow we saw in the background of one of the clips in Louis’ house which had Clifford’s name on it had to be something Harry did because Louis could never be associated with cute things, that’s only for Harry. Plenty of larries get annoyed at people using feminine or cute terms for Louis and will only allow that for Harry. It’s why I get annoyed with louies who get annoyed with cute terms for Louis because to me they are embodying the stereotypes about Louis which larries tend to push, like the tommo way stuff, which is from larries. So many Larries make Louis’ entire personality that he smokes and likes sport. If Louis likes flowers or shows appreciation for them (which he completely does, the 28OP line is such an example of that), then it’s because flowers remind him of Harry. If Louis smells nice, like flowers or lavender or vanilla or baby powder, then it’s because he’s wearing scents which remind him of Harry. That all comes from larries and a vocal majority of them too. Louis isn’t allowed to be too soft or too baby or too sweet because that is reserved for their actual favourite
Louis is slim figured, so it’s sometimes hard to tell how much he does or doesn’t work out, and it’s also really not my business if he does or doesn’t. I think he’s fit and enjoys working out in certain ways, just maybe not exclusively in a gym. I think heavily focusing too much on whether Louis works out or not is weird, whatever side you fall on. Think he’s hot or beautiful, yes, but don’t make posts about how he’s such a liar for saying he doesn’t like working out or going to the gym. Louis said he didn’t really work out that much at some point last year, but may have changed that after his injury and with an awareness that he will be touring, which requires a level of fitness. Louis enjoys a bit of racing, clearly, and loves football. I know he used to have a kind of football game when they could with a couple of other celebrities, I don’t know if that still happens but it might. Yet again, it’s hard to tell especially in that image when it is all distorted. Trust Louis to post a thirst trap but still manage to obscure the details ☹️ I have to admit though, I thought his little tummy was cute. I want to bite him all over so badly, and that’s one of the areas I dreamed most about 🫣
Thanks for this great message. I loved your points.
I think if any stranger followed a normal fan around obsessively, tried to get into their personal emails and texts, stalked the fan to their workplace and forced them to take “fan” photos, tracked their travel and plane tickets and restaurant reservations and bank statements, told lies about them, and then relentlessly commented on their weight and body type FOR YEARS, it would be considered weird and sociopathic, right? And on top of that, obsesses about their family even if they’re children?
And yet that’s exactly what fans do, and it’s not limited to Larries either. All parts of the 1D fandom engage in these activities.

Don’t know much about clothing industry but I wonder if whoever produces the clothes for 28 if because it’s a new brand, that there was a limit on how much was produced or something like that. Like the manufacturer agreed to only a certain amount because the line is brand new and they wanted to limit their risk. 🤷‍♀️ I just wonder, seems that as a manufacturer in today’s economy you want to limit any risk or losses.
heyy,
your guess might be as good as mine since I don't know much about these things either but I doubt the manufacturer is the one calling the shots here since it is not like 28op is a small business or anything. it's a celebrity brand so it's much more probable that they are still just trying to gauge the demand and estimate how much stock they should produce especially if they don't plan on restocking and it's just an exclusive one time drop kinda thing.

I think it depends on what you’re used to in prices. As a Canadian clothing prices are usually higher just because a majority of clothes are import from the US. So his prices aren’t that far off from what I’d pay for say Nike or Adidas. Of course we haven’t seen the quality of the garments yet, so it’s hard to make a determination if the clothes are over priced.
I'm aware that it's industry standard, just as I was aware at least one person would unfollow me for daring to say anything other than pure simping (✔ I was right lol) but industry standard is bullshit and is fake. Those items, like all fashion, cost a tiny amount of that to manufacture. Occasionally brand stuff costs more because it's actually made of higher quality materials or manufactured in more expensive conditions- all I said was that we can see that neither of those things is at play here (no one goes out of their way to use union labor and doesn't mention it as a selling point though yes future defensive anons, ofc anything is possible) so, like Adidas and Nike (who are notorious for their use of sweatshop labour so maybe not the ideal example actually), these items are priced to a standard that is made up and not tied to physical value, by which I mean they could still make a profit at a lower price, even if they're very good quality manufacture (which I would guess they are given Louis' attention to detail generally and the fact that we have seen him wearing them and he is fussy about his own clothing quality and would have for sure noticed if they were shoddy, plus the honestly remarkably high quality of his general merch). Whatever- it's not some huge deal. That's how fashion works and it could be MUCH WORSE. Louis is a businessman who is good at launching profitable enterprises and this is one, me saying that it's that and not an exercise in making streetwear more accessible to poor people isn't that big a deal. And honestly, for me, acknowledging that he is focused on the fashion end rather than the supply end isn't some huge callout- I would celebrate him paying attention to that and thinking about the workers, but him having his hands in only 80% of the details of all of the 28 or so projects he's currently juggling is plenty impressive enough

do you think 28OP will be a full brand or will it be like a special merch collection?👀
I always imagined it as a stand-alone brand, since nothing on the items Louis has worn so far mention his name.
I thought a 28 OP company had been registered, but it was the copyright. From a business perspective, I wonder how it's gonna work. Under one of Louis' companies? 78 prod? Or outsourced to a third party that has more experience in the fashion world? Since Louis keeps saying 'soon' and we haven't seen any movement under his companies, I'm inclined to say it's a totally different project (business-wise).
I'm SO curious about the pieces that he's been wearing so far. Are they unique models? Designs he was trying? Or previews of the collection to come? 👀

the pricing isn't hurting me as much as the shipping is. i would buy the fleece jacket in a heartbeat if/when they launch it in black. but I just checked the shipping adding a random item and it's insane. now I'm like it's expensive as it is yet I was willing to splurge but the shipping now makes it obscenely expensive!! now I'm like should I??? nothing's gonna be worth that much with the shipping 😭😭😭
ohhh... yeah that's a problem with everything these days :( the funny thing is shipping is probably one of the few things in this modern world that actually is linked to its value, like it probably SHOULD cost that much at least given the eco impact and labor etc, but it doesn't make it any easier for those of us being ground under the heel of recession and so forth to actually afford. I'm not gonna organize it but tbh this fandom is in a great position to set up a system to help with this problem, IE bulk orders by region. One big order, distributed by fans- knowing the drops will happen every 28th helps with this, people could theoretically plan with other fans in their country or area to order together and then distribute via cheap local mail....?

I’m not your anon from before so I’m not sure if they had more specific information, but every product on the 28op site says “Made in Portugal” in the description. I don’t know much about clothing manufacturing in Portugal but that may be a good starting point for someone more in the know to find out.
I was gonna drop the whole subject cause I feel no need to make a fuss about it, like I said here I don't need or expect him to singlehandedly fix capitalism with his capitalist business enterprises, but now I see people are making whole posts about how Louis is using ethical labor sources cause half the 28OP items (the cotton ones) were manufactured in Portugal (and the rest presumably in Asia) so I do in fact feel the need to say that just a quick google search revealed to me that Portugal is one of the biggest sites of fast fashion cotton products made for European markets right now and is absolutely swimming in sweatshops staffed by vulnerable immigrants so like... can we just focus on the exciting things Louis IS doing and leave it at that?
