ok ok so i was watching that clip of yugyeom dancing to hard carry being surrounded by fans and my first thought was to fixate on how everyone has a camera/phone in their hand, pointing at him like a circus attraction. i attend mostly no pictures parties / hang out with people who dont photograph so it feels uncomfortable/stupid to me but when thinking further it would be way weirder if they didnt have anything. because celebrities are not your friends they are being paid to be there, filmed material of them existing in that context is the point of it. they are existing there as a public figure and in a sense everyone there is aware of that division, the phones are an embodiment and reminder of it.
