always reminds me -- so i lived in this Latino apartment complex in Houston, Texas and they had these really fun pool parties... which was the first time i'd really noticed this song since high school and got into it again cuz i was there for six months and got fired from my job at a used movie store --
the whole time was when i really started to realise america didn't really give a shit about anything except money, football and re-segregation, because i was training to be a teacher and my mind was blown by how incompetent and yet confident and take-charge all these idiots in my teacher certification courses shamelessly were --
and you know, very distressing but with distress sometimes comes new insight and i realised 100% Pure Love by Crystal Waters was way more serious than the American public education system is in Texas
and i still stand by that assertion
it was kind of mind-blowing to realise that around 2008 since the song was 1994 and here was my mind letting me know that this like, high school dance song from my Wisconsin childhood is seriously more serious than the education system in America's 4th largest city and prob all of Texas for that matter.
