yay new musics!!! i am like a tiger that found a new meat pumpkin to roll around in my enclosure :3 anyway i only listened to a few of their top songs on spotify bc i'm lazy but i liked them more than i thought i would!!

i think this one is my favorite actually! i like the creepy vibe and the way the singer doesn't really stop or change the tempo except for the chorus, gives it like a droning rambling kind of losing it vibe, very nice ^^

god what a fucking mood. yeah i can relate to this one, i like the way it's sung very frantically and rushed in relation with the lyrics. you gotta slow down and appreciate what you got unless you wanna spend your life in search of something you'll never find :/

this one i really liked too!! i should listen to the full album sometime all the songs i've listened to so far are super good, hopefully it's a pattern c: this one makes me feel badass listening to it. like if i were a cool buff werewolf and honestly i'm into it >:3

aside from those three, i also listened to some other new music!!! also only three songs but c'est la vie

this one gives me paper idol vibes kinda, sweet :3 y'know i genuinely did not know this was about drugs until i got on genius to look at the lyric analysis. like i genuinely thought this was about either being a Cool Badass or like the general feeling a sugar high gave you. twelfth grade english teacher i'm so sorry....i don't deserve the a i got both semesters if this is how i'm using it 😔

i understand this is super super dark but have you considered: the vocals are very nice. i'm so obsessed with the singer's VOICE.... it reminds me of like a 50s and more ranged kate bush, very nice :) but not just that!!! the TONAL CONTROL, the TEMPO, the KEY SWITCHES....all genuinely genius. i wish there was more stuff from the band, the last album was in 2012 and i'm not sure if they're just on a long hiatus or broke up entirely but i hope it's the former, i really liked this song :(

i've been getting into will wood lately and i think his voice is so goofy and fun. i like how he distracts you with it and the trumpets but the lyrics are super deep and clever if you think about it. he does that for all his songs and i don't think i could pick a favorite out of his songs honestly. like if i HAD to i would choose memento mori i guess. MAYBE the vampire culture part of suburbia overture but only for the growling, i'm a sucker for when singers growl. especially when women do it but will wood gets a pass too. because i am an egalitarian. you're welcome.

thanks for the recommendation!! i had a lot of fun listening to new music, it was nice to branch out. i probably wouldn't have listened to air traffic controller if you didn't suggest it and i'm glad you did <3

been thinking a lot about how to organise fic recs into some sort of sensible post, 'cus there are so many (great!) pairings and (delicious!) driver combinations, not to mention so many varying styles of fic and SUPER TALENTED WRITERS!!111!!

just gonna list a bunch in no particular order, with accompanying pics, so you can get a sense of the vibes.

LISTEN! charles to rbr is one of the best premises ever and i will read it in like a thousand iterations. but this fic. this fic series in particular cleared my skin, made me want to cut my hair into a bob out of sheer emotion. i would be remiss not to start with this one because its impact on my f1 rpf trajectory should be studied by science. you know when a story just jumps off the page and it's so real that it becomes your canon. a kind of meteoric inevitability. plus, i almost never cry at fics. but by the time the third act of this one hit, i just went -- damn, am i rly about to tear up at a f1 rpf fanfiction rn? (yes.)

max as a f1 engineer? for CARLOS at FERRARI? sign me the fuckkk up. first off, awesome premise. there's always going to be something so heartwrenching about "what ifs", especially in any universe where max isn't a racer. despite the change of circumstances, just... the sheer poetry of two characters who just inexplicably find their way to each other in any universe... 🤧 also this story nails racing scenes in a way that's so visceral, i feel like a fly on the damn halo with them. and, aside from the gourmet lestappen, carlos's whole thing in this fic is joyous! spicy! he's so unapologetic and vaguely annoying! hilarious! + the swimming pool scene lives rent-free in my head.

this fic is magic. literally and figuratively. (MERMAID LANDO???? MERMAID LANDO.) the kind of story that makes you gasp and melt a little bit. and made me want to throw my phone at the writer, 'cause it's really that good. the yearning, the metaphor for all that's monstrous, a boy who is lost (and the boy who he finds, is equally so). this is just beautifully written and a little quirky and so well executed. i think i put it in my bookmarks as "what if lando was a mermaid and it was filmed by a24" or something. pearl of a story.

leaf meal one. i have only known you a week but if anything were to happen to you i would wreck everyone in the room including myself. in all seriousness, anything that leaf writes is brilliant. they're one of these writers who could do a throwaway line on the label of a ketchup bottle and i will probably scream about it. the precision, the way they switch up sentence structures, the freaking darcy-level regency yearning transposed onto a contemporary sports setting. i'd rec all of leaf's sports AUs and i'll probably talk about more in a future fic rec post. BUT. the hockeyyy one my GOD. the barely restrained violence, their mutual desire, the theme of finding your place... *wails uncontrollably*

max is a governess(govern..lad?) and daniel is the mystery man at the manor. this was a response to a request i made in the kinkmeme! (if you haven't read those fics go check 'em out, there are so many great ones, and not necessarily all rated e). this is a criminally underrated little story that has my favourite repressed feelings + people dancing around each other + gothic vibes + "what the hell is wrong with y'all in this tale" combo that i really adore. it's really well written and captures the atmosphere so well.

i profess i am not usually the biggest fan of A/B/O (altho!! this fandom has made me go BUT ACTUALLY HM at least a few times). and this fic freaking nails it, along with the twisted power dynamics between TPs and drivers, as seen through the lens of omegaverse. this story rattles around my head like a stubborn ghoul just from the style and prose and sheer audacity alone. george kneeling at toto's knees while he's working..... ohhhhhhhhh i was this close to calling my lawyers.

i LOVE, LOOOOVE a sci fi concept alright. love that shit, will inhale it like moon dust with zero regrets. and what a fantastic one this one is!! the premise is that the FIA can now statistically show the compatibility of drivers on the grid and it's very pacific rim-y drift compatible, mixed with the surreal vibes of eternal sunshine or HER or some such. it should be outrageous, but it really works. that's the beauty of a great fic right there.

also one of the fics i first read when i hopped on board the f1 rpf train. the pain and poignancy just gets worse the more i learn about brocedes. you know when you're like "there's no way this was reallll" and then you're like "fuck, it was so real". then you get a fic like this that just encapsulates all that rage and loss and grief and upset, set against the starry vista of endless space. *clutches tablecloth* god.

BLLK - Relationship HCs + Songs That Describes It PT. 2

contents: gn!reader, super fluffy, sfw, established relationships, kinda proofread characters mentioned: sae, shidou, barou, oliver, yukimiya, karasu a/n: hehe part 2 c: (this ended up being WAY longer than the first one) also wanted to try my chance at writing for both yukimiya and karasu bc i feel like they're underrated

sae - ride by hybs

not the biggest fan of PDA but will steal moments to hold your hand for just a second, giving it a little squeeze. for more physical reassurance, he loves taking his thumb and rubbing it across your palms and thighs.

he's hyper-aware of your surroundings whether you know it or not. if you're bending down to reach for something, one of his hands usually hovers over your head to make sure you don't hurt yourself on the way up. if he catches you shivering or sneezing for just a second then the next minute you're presented with a cup of tea and his demand for cuddles. you get the gist!

following up on the last point - whenever you get up from any surface, he always checks and dusts off anything that might cling to your bottoms or back.

sae is always out traveling and attending games, so phone calls are endless with him. even if the conversation has ended, there's something comforting about being on the line with him versus being in complete silence.

shidou - see you again by tyler, the creator

he is incredibly great with animals and that’s why you guys foster dogs together! it's no surprise for your neighbors to see the two of you walking an army of chihuahuas and german shepherds around the block every morning. it's also no surprise to everyone when he ends up adopting four of them; he claims no one can take care of them better than he can.

when it comes to washing dishes with shidou, he likes to make shapes out of the bubbles and blow them your way. this always ends up in a bubble-blowing battle that leaves the dishes to be washed the day after.

not really an extreme prankster, but what harm would an innocent sticky note on your back do? he likes to write jokes on them before sending you off to get errands.

gets abnormally invested in the drama in your social life. you tell him that one of your friends had just gone through a breakup? he's getting a bag of popcorn and already listing off questions pertaining to who's at fault.

barou - come inside of my heart by iv of spades

if you ever need to move he'll be there to help in a heartbeat. not only does he have the muscles to help you secure all the furniture, but he has the brains to let you know how to stack the items and what equipment you need to keep them pristine and in one piece.

even if he claims it’s a bother, it’s not! he’s the type to fix your messy cable management and will replace anything that looks like it needs “fixing” in your house. examples include buying you new sponges for the kitchen, restocking your fridge if you’re running low on essentials, and folding your laundry if you’re the type to leave it in the dryer after it’s done.

he hates having his photo taken but knows that you absolutely adore showing him off to your friends. when you first got yourself a camera, all the film was practically barou, barou and you, and shirtless barou. it took a while for him to warm up to the idea but when you came home with developed photos in hand, he can't help but litter the fridge with his favorite moments with you.

definitely listens to cheesy boy bands when he's tidying up the place. he gets easily embarrassed about it so he usually waits to clean up the area when you're out before turning the music up to max volume. there was a rare moment when you returned early and a flustered barou claimed that he didn't know how 'boyfriend' by big time rush came up in his playlist.

oliver - somebody by keshi

surprisingly one of the best people to go to IKEA with - and no it's not because of the fact that he's part Swedish. he'll be the type to get into character whenever you guys go into a showroom, acting as if it's an apartment that you guys share. he’s cute but be careful, he’s the type to sneak items into the cart when you’re not looking!

gets excited whenever pull him into the living room knowing that you'll be announcing a fashion show from your recent mall run. he'll play along and hype you up, taking photos and telling you to give him 360 spins.

a chronic blanket hogger! he complains about needing a bigger bed because his feet keep dangling off the edges and that he needs the blanket the most. if you offer to sleep on the couch so that he can get more space, oliver will just pout and join you wherever you end up sleeping.

when you guys were touring for apartments, it was your job to keep the leasing agent occupied with questions while he was in the other rooms subtly scratching the walls with his nails to see if the paint would hold up.

yukimiya - home by luke chiang

never forgets to bring the mail in. a majority of the time, yukimiya will throw away the useless magazines and ads, but on slow days he likes to sit down and sort through coupons and tries his attempt with the weekly crossword puzzles with you.

there's always a different scented candle in every room you guys share. when they're running low, the two of you typically go to the store and spend at least an hour trying out all the different smells that they have to offer. a new seasonal and two of the regular scents are the final items he settles for.

he'll drive to your workplace to bring you lunch if you've forgotten it for the day. most of the meals he ends up buying for you are typically way healthier and out of your budget than what you would usually make for yourself.

keeps your side of the bed warm for you after you come back from a long day! yukimiya believes it's bad luck to get in a cold bed so he's doing his job as a good boyfriend.

karasu - summer by brockhampton

expect a lot of late-night food runs with karasu and they're all unplanned. you guys could literally be driving back from a date night in the city and he’ll just be like “I want McDonald’s” and just pull in a drive-through. sometimes he’ll do it if he wakes up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep.

is a very good listener but not a good comforter (he's trying to do better in the long run). due to his usual snarky personality, he's worried that he might say the wrong things and usually says little to nothing. when you're crying, the best he offers is back rubs and a long cuddle session afterward.

working out together with karasu is like having your dad help you with math homework. he's critical of how your form should look, always saying that you might hurt yourself in the long run if you're not placing your feet or shoulders at the correct angle.

it's canon that he's afraid of the ocean and can't swim that's why whenever you guys are at a pool, he requires you to hold onto his hand - claiming that he doesn't want you to float away.

yooo please may I have some punk music recs!! I'm very new to the genre but I'd love to listen to more!!!!

what I like (not specifically punk bands but I like their sound): Radiohead (my favourite band ever), nirvana, the cure, dream nails, crass, currls (they're so underrated), UK waste, a bit of Siouxsie and the Banshees, the smiths, deftones, T.S.O.L, Fleetwood Mac, zounds

I want to find more punk music I like (fan of crass, t.s.o.l and dream nails) but I don't really enjoy music that's super heavy and screams a lot - a couple here and there absolutely!!! go for it!!!! but if it's just nonstop Noise it's not really my thing. so if you know any bands with music like this I'd love to give them a listen!! if you're in doubt, just give it to me anyway I'm open to having my mind changed!!!!

random but have you thought abt gaming and hutao?

funny story anon, when I was writing ga-ming's fake voicelines and needed to give him more characters to talk about, I was considering adding a hu tao voiceline, but decided against it because I didn't really see a reason for them to meet (besides via friends (new liyue 6ang addition?!?!?!)). lowkey I now feel validated bc they don't have any in-game voicelines abt each other, but this would be a very boring ask if it just stopped here lol.

there's something to be said about gaming and hu tao's family baggage vs their cheerful external demeanor vs both doing a job that isn't super well received (?) by people in liyue harbor. but hu tao leans into her eccentricities a lot more while gaming is on the 'likeable by everyone' grind LOL also the dad similarities might increase if we ever get 76th funeral parlor director lore: hu tao's parents have been conspicuously missing forever, where did genshin put them? an interesting possibility would be if the 76th somehow split off from the family trade and subsequently got wiped from the family tree bc of ideological diffs (like ht's beef with baizhu), which could increase gaming and hu tao's possible shared father(?) troubles. but besides that I feel like there's not too much similarity there. They're both enthusiastic outward facing individuals, but idk if they'd have an interesting dynamic if they met.*

Although, you know that voiceline where hu tao does a magic trick and makes a butterfly of fire? and also how she plays with those lion statues outside the ministry of civil affairs? those two things would be straight up gamings alley ngl like he'd be so down for that kind of whimsy and playfulness. also hu tao would be a good candidate for a 2nd lion dance partner. she'd be completely down for doing odd jobs and this is absolutely a fun odd job, at least until she gets tired of it or has to focus on official business lol. idt she's the type to work hard at it; she's just there to try it out because it looked cool but gaming appreciates the enthusiasm regardless. would request to be the lions head in order to lunge at people and also pick greens. also there's potential for a gaming yun jin xingqiu hu tao tea appreciation club

oh also i think smth underrated abt hu tao is how shes like cheery and eccentric but takes her job seriously and has unidentifiable but occasionally present baggage .... which i already mentioned before is similar to how 75% of gm's voicelines are cheery, and then the other 25% is emotional conflict. idk! maybe under the right conditions, they could open up to each other and sympathize

*addendum: imo, hu tao has mostly moved on from her grief over her grandfather's death, and she doesn't have any regrets about the state of their relationship when he passed away, since they were pretty close and never on bad terms. My personal hc is that she still has some things she wished she said, ie. sincere thoughts and feelings from the heart that she usually avoids talking about (she would say "nice speech, but that kind of killed the mood" if someone made one of those anime protag power of friendship monologues). in my head, her grandpa taught her everything about death and funeral customs, played with her/listened to her poetry, pretended to go along w her pranks, and was in general a very loving person, but I don't think hu tao ever explicitly told him "I love you" before he died. she canonically tried to find him right after he passed away but knew that he wouldn't be there. by now i think she's made peace with his death, but still has a certain wistfulness about things she didn't think of saying. and then on the flip side, if ga-ming could see his mom again, he'd probably spend a whole day talking to her i think. he's also not someone to get drunk on grief or regrets, but i don't think he's quite gotten over it completely, and his rocky relationship with his father (before lantern rite 2024) makes this more emotional idk. not sure where I'm going with this, but maybe hu tao would be able to talk him through a bit of this messiness and urge him to simply continue with his own life. or show him that his mother was not at the border, perhaps never lingered there, because she didnt think there was any unfinished business with him or his father that she needed to worry about. the annoying thing about death is that even if the dead person was free of regrets, those who are still living will still miss them. maybe both gaming and hu tao would be able to understand that and/or sympathize with it. or maybe they'd just be silly together who knows, up to you

edit: it'd also be so funny to have gaming call hu tao "boss hu" 胡老板～～～～～～～

*cracks knuckles* You have fallen into my trap. Prepare to hear about the singular best character that has ever been created.

Kit Baxter, also known as the Flying Squirrel, is the sidekick to Canada's greatest superhero, the marvelous masked man known only as the Red Panda from the radio show Adventures of the Red Panda. She is also his chauffeur for his secret identity (which remains secret even to the listeners for most of the show.) One other important bit of context is that the show is set during the great depression in Toronto, Canada, so life kinda sucks ass a little bit.

Kit is a first generation Russian immigrant, her father ran a boxing ring and taught her to drive. She's quick witted and quick on her feet, can throw a mean right hook, and drives better than most other people in the city, which earned her a spot as a taxi driver. Panda ended up in her car in his Secret Identity, asked her to drive (recklessly) to a crime scene he wanted to stop, and she, obviously, refused. She wasn't going to be running around like an idiot for some rich asshole. Panda than waved some money in her face to try and get her to listen, and what did she do? She said no, because she isn't some trained dog that'll bark for some rich asshole the moment he gives her a bone. She'd rather go hungry tonight than do that kind of shit for him, and if he's gonna act like he doesn't even know what manners are, he can get the hell out of her cab. (Once he says sorry and asks nicely, than she puts the petal to the metal.)

She's also like. So smart and cool and good with people, she's a jokester and flirtatious (mostly with Panda because she likes flustering him, its really funny) but she's allowed to be all of those things without ever feeling like "Oh she's just there to be the attractive side kick." Kit is very much her own person, its just that she happens to like being a thorn in Panda's side and sometimes that means batting her eyelids (and climbing up walls in a skintight cat suit).

Kit became the Flying Squirrel after, and I quote "I figured out your secret identity and then blackmailed you into letting me play." She cares so, so deeply about the people of her city, especially the people on the streets she comes from because she did not grow up in a nice area of town, and she is constantly trying to fight for the most vulnerable parts of town, despite many of them looking down on her as a woman, especially a woman in her field. She never takes anyone's shit, either towards herself or anyone else, and she is always ready to throw hands with someone she thinks deserves it.

(I'm going to be getting into spoiler stuff underneath the cut. I am asking so very nicely for you to listen to the Adventures of the Red Panda. They're on spotify here ad free, and you can also find them on their website decoderringtheatre.com along with all of their other shows and their audiobooks. It truly is one of the most impressive, fun, and thrilling stories I have ever read, watched, or heard, and it is Criminally Underrated. If you think this is even like. A Tiny Bit Interesting, throw on the first episode, its only 20 minutes, see if you like it. If you don't mind spoilers, or ended up not liking it, keep going.)

Something that I really, really like about Kit is how she's handled later on in the story, once we get into WWII. Her and Panda get married, and she ends up pregnant right as he ends up MIA (presumed dead by most of the world) and she is left to try and defend all of Toronto largely by herself with a child on the way and Archangel, a nazi spy whose manipulating p much everything, bringing havoc upon her city.

It would be super easy to let her fade into the background during all of this. It would be so, so easy to write her off as so many different things do as a mother and a wife and leave her at that. But they don't. She steps up as the mastermind behind everything, pulling the strings of their connections they've forged over the years, continues to fight in her suit until she physically can't anymore, working as hard as she can in and out of costume to make sure that her city, because with Panda gone (not dead. She never believes he's dead for a second and has and will fight anyone who says otherwise.) It is her city and her people and she will not let it fall to ruin. She will not let anyone else, Nazi or American or Canadian or anyone take her city from her.

Katya Baxter is a wonderful character who is just so, so funny and amazing and if anybody knew what the Adventures of the Red Panda were she would be an absolute HIT of a character on here. I love her so, so much.

okay so honestly this tour has blown everything out of the water so if we're including the recent live stuff then. kids from yesterday is his most beautiful AND technically impressive. the thing about fast shreddy solos is that sure they're very difficult to play but they're also forgiving. skip a note? under/overdo a bend? hit a couple of wrong frets? no big deal, it'll barely be noticeable as long as you're able to recover quick. slow solos that focus more on emotion and musicality are often so much more difficult because every single note matters and the mood depends on you not only hitting every one but hitting it well, bending in tune, sustaining it, really putting feeling into it etc. like for example the summertime solo is super simple and easy to play, but ray pours his heart into it every night so it sounds beautiful, and if he hits just one note wrong it's obvious as hell lol. anyway ray's a master at both of those types of soloing (which is insane, and as much as everyone knows he's an incredible player i feel like his emotionality as a musician doesn't get enough recognition compared to his technical prowess and ability to shred). and kids from yesterday this tour like. combines both of those things at once. it's jawdropping every single night - and the fact that it's, like, semi-improvised some nights too. genuinely astounding like all else aside mcr getting back together is the greatest gift in the world just because we get to witness that. it's like the perfect showcase of how ray's grown as a musician over the hiatus because even though remember the laughter is relatively light on guitar, you can really hear how those solos and exploring that style influenced this new kids one...but it's still so my chemical romance, because ray's never played to show off or posture, he knows exactly what every single song needs to be as emotionally resonant as possible.

anyway. lol spiel on kids from yesterday over (genuinely the way it ROCKETED up my ranking of mcr songs from close to the bottom to close to the top after this tour....lol). if we're talking studio versions only......

favourite solo: this is genuinely such a fucking hard question so i'm going to have to go with my gut response. which is venom. it's probably not my favourite solo anymore, but it was originally - it was one of the things that really hooked me on mcr in the first place, and when my show got cancelled in 2020 i couldn't listen to it for like two solid months bc it was the one i most vividly daydreamed about seeing live LOL so i have a huge soft spot for it. and it's catchy. it's clean. it's classic. it's just fucking FUN like it catches my attention and gets a smile out of me every time lol. close runners-up are vampire money, flw, and the live version of destroya.

most beautiful: augh. fuck. fuck. easy answer is summertime and as much as i agree i think i have to say scarecrow....again, it's nothing overstated. the way it like. weaves around and reinforces the vocals on "love won't stop this bomb" too like...it has brought many a tear to my eye. jesus. side note frank's parts in both of these songs are fucking heart-wrenchingly gorgeous too. for an album that sounds less like a ~guitar album~ than all of mcr's others, danger days has some of the best guitar work of their whole discography man...

most technically/musically impressive: genuinely this one is impossible to answer...like i could make an argument for sooo many of them in different ways...but i think i'm going to have to say. i don't love you. she is criminally underrated and so deceptively simple-sounding but so technically complex AND so fucking emotive. like okay another thing ray should probably get more credit for is not only that he's able to play all these solos flawlessly and beautifully but that he's able to write them - it's truly like he speaks another language, every solo he's ever written is so perfect for the song right key, right chord progression, right scale, right energy. and he's comfortable playing in so many different styles too....his blues-ed up teenagers live playing my fucking BELOVED, his practically baroque metally to the end solo, classic rock or polka or fucking borderline-edm...we are so lucky to have him oh my god.

also if we're counting non-mcr solos. take the world and remember the laughter...oouguhghghhhughhhh SHIT. they tick ALL of these boxes (and you can see what i mean about the new kids from yesterday part growing out of them).

Favorite character: Hard to choose because i love so many of them. I feel like every time I watch it I end up with a new favorite. The first time I watched the show I was an Elijah girlie (all that class and poise and honor with brutality and violence rippling just below the surface is so compelling). But overall I think I'd have to go with Marcel, I just find him as a character so fascinating and tragic. He's introduced as a character whose life on the plantation contrasts with the life of opulence the Mikaelsons are living in New Orleans. He's brought out of slavery by them and given everything - money, education, power, influence, status, the finer things in life - but it's ALWAYS contingent on him keeping them happy and doing what they want. Every attempt he makes to free himself ends up backfiring. And despite this he always finds a way to make it work. They leave him to die when they flee New Orleans and he still manages to build a kingdom that even Klaus is envious of when he returns. I also think the way he's caught between being too New Orleans to really be a Mikaelson but also too much a Mikaelson for New Orleans is really interesting.

Least Favorite character: Hmmmm.... it may be the obvious answer to say Mikael, since he is just so hateable. (also don't hate me but I did find Klaus kind of annoying after a while)

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): I actually didn't have much shippy feelings about this show (I also just don't have much shippy feelings in general) - i much prefer familial or platonic dynamics so i'm going to answer that way, with some of my favorite relationships and dynamics but not necessarily romantic or sexual. 1) I was a SUCKER for HayleyxElijah from the very beginning, probably the only romantic ship I really cared about while watching 2) Aya x Elijah in like... a super fucked up way. The centuries of history, resentment, and sexual tension....... The next three are all platonic/familial relationships I love: 3) Camille and Vincent had a really interesting dynamic (also I just think Vincent is severely underrated) 4) Marcel and Davina's father-daughter thing was really sweet and compelling and 5) Klaus and Elijah's relationship was the heart of the show.

Character I find most attractive: They are all so attractive lol. But probably Elijah. Maybe Aya as well.

Character I would marry: Vincent! He is so husband-coded. He's truly one of the most underrated characters on the show.

Character I would be best friends with: Honestly I think it would be fun to be a third in Davina and Josh's friendship. I think they're having more fun than the other characters. (And I love how Davina is so small but so full of rage and we have a lot of shared interests re:music). Or Hayley because I think she needs more female friends lol.

A random thought: We should've had more Aya.

An unpopular opinion: I think it would've been a better ending if all the Mikaelsons had died in the finale. For so many seasons the theme was that despite how long they'd cheated death, all things must eventually die. I think it would have been thematically better - and i LOVE a good and well-written tragedy. I have a longer post about this in my drafts.

My canon OTP: Haylijah

Non-canon OTP: Hayley x Rebekah (listen... this show would've been better with more femslash)

Most badass character: hmmmmm... They kinda all are, but i'm tempted to say Hayley (especially after she becomes a hybrid) or Elijah (there's something about the way he can do that kind of damage and then still look pretty put together that I find VERY badass).

Pairing I am not a fan of: I really did not like marbekah, despite really loving both Marcel and Rebekah. I just didn't like it - I think loving Rebekah is inseparable from Marcel's desire to be part of the Mikaelson family and she's basically his aunt .

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): So so so so many (specifically characters of color Julie Plec you will pay for your crimes) but I think Vincent is one of the better examples of this. I think he deserved a better ending than he got. Also Hayley because in the last season she became basically JUST hope's mom and didn't really have anything else going on.

Favourite friendship: Hmmmm... I think Cami had really great friendships with everyone that I enjoyed a lot (Vincent, Hayley, Davina, Marcel) I also think thats just a really interesting group of people - just bunch of people with strong connections to New Orleans or the bayou who are sort of caught up in the Mikaelsons' wake.

Listen I don't like to headcanon every character in everything as being neurodivergent because for one thing that's not realistic to have everyone in a random group of people be that way and often times it involves actually changing certain aspects of a character just to fit what you want which is not very cool, and for another thing I feel like it kinda minimizes the seriousness of things like autism and ADHD that really shouldn't be seen as "cute little quirks" BUT Alhaitham and Kaveh have one of the most autism + ADHD dynamics I've ever seen

Like realistically just taking the way they are

I personally didn't agree with what he said about Kaveh, though. I think Kaveh's constant arguing and baiting comes from a place of wanting affirmation and desperately wanting to prove himself, particularly to the guy who used to be his best friend and now acts like he can't stand him (I know that's not the case and that Alhaitham mostly just thinks he's immature), and I think he has a lot of self-esteem issues that drive his behavior towards Alhaitham. I don't think it comes from a place of hate. I think he wishes they could communicate better and that they didn't have such a rift between them, but Alhaitham's failure to pick up on Kaveh's desire for affirmation and assurance (which I think is because Kaveh's not making it at all clear to him) isn't helping anything.

Tl;dr Kaveh's not actually immature, just has his own issues to work through including poor self-esteem which leads to him constantly asking for Alhaitham's opinion and constantly getting upset when Alhaitham disapproves or corrects or scolds him yet again because in his mind he thinks he hates him and he's desperate for him not to but he doesn't and just isn't good at making that clear. It's a loop, I think.

This turned into "Man look at these silly little relatable guys lol" into "Here let's do a character analysis" ksjdfhk

Nadia and Chandra bonding with MC and their familiar headcanons

Since Nadia spent a lot of time isolated during her married years with Lucio, Chandra was probably her only company, and the two of them have always been close. Therefore, it is very important for Nadia that MC and their familiar would get along with Chandra.

If Nadia is the Countess of Vesuvia, then Chandra is its Queen. This pretty bird will establish dominance, but she would never belittle MC's familiar. Chandra is a true lady (and a very pretty one too).

The first time MC introduces their familiar to Chandra, she holds her head high and is very well-behaved (as expected), but she also stares into their soul. Bonus points if MC's familiar does the same. Some say that their staring contest still hasn't ended.

She and MC's familiar will watch over Nadia and MC whenever they can. If they go horseback riding, Chandra will fly above them, closely followed by MC's familiar (not necessarily flying, it depends on the familiar. They can be with MC on their horse if they're tiny. Or they can be the horse.)

During a beautiful afternoon, Nadia and MC peacefully enjoyed some tea and a quiet moment together in the palace gardens. They smiled, laughed, and casually talked when they suddenly noticed two pairs of adoring eyes. Yup, it was Chandra and MC's familiar gazing at them from an appropriate distance, watching Nadia and MC being happy together. They both felt very proud of their humans during that moment, and Chandra even gave them a happy little hoot!

Chandra and MC's familiar hunting together? The next morning, Nadia and MC will wake up and find two proudly presented mice. Hopefully not (but probably) on their pillows.

Bonding in the library? Chandra picks the books, and Nadia reads them out loud. MC and their familiar usually falls asleep after a few pages. Nadia's voice is just so soothing, and Chandra completely agrees.

If MC decides to pick flowers for Nadia, Chandra will help them out. She will pick the prettiest flowers and try to arrange them as best as she can, then when she is finished, she will proudly wait for her neck scritches. She knows she did a great job. Later, MC and their familiar might make a flower crown for Chandra for her kind assistance. She wears it proudly and will check her reflection in the nearest window. Happy owl noises!

Nadia has made Chandra a lot of trinkets, and she does the same for MC's familiar. If they can wear a collar, then she commissions them at least fifty within the first month.

After meetings, Nadia and MC sneak away to give treats, pets, and compliments to their familiars.

Someone pissed Nadia off? If she doesn't go to MC, then she will complain to Chandra and MC's familiar. Not only will they listen, but they will also seek revenge. Do not mess with these two.

Chandra doesn't seem very cuddly with humans, and the same goes for Nadia with animals. However, if MC has a cuddly familiar and showers Nadia and MC with their love, the Countess won't say no. It will make Chandra jealous, tho, and she may or may not join them, resulting in the most regal cuddle puddle. Nadia's heart is going to melt like never before.

These two familiars will always keep each other safe. If one of them ever gets in trouble, the other will immediately alert Nadia and MC.

Also, Chandra and MC's familiar will chase away anyone who dares to slightly disrespect their companions. They make the best team and will not let anyone tell them otherwise.

Nadia finally has a partner worthy of her affections, and so does MC. Their familiars couldn't be happier.

Bonus:

When Nadia and Lucio were married, Chandra had a habit of messing up Lucio's hair at least twice a day.

They have a bit of a "[Former] Caged Birds Club" in my mind, and Henry kind of looked out for her from afar from the time she first arrived at the hideout and made sure she always had big windows in her rooms (and was close to the exit) since he really sympathized with her backstory).

I'm super happy to have you around for the event and I'm glad to hear that you like it! ^^ Henry is definitely on the underrated spectrum (I mean, it's because of him that the BB base is a transformer), so I'd gladly oblige ^^

🍂What is their strength as a person?

Henry's strength as a person I think stems from his patience. I mean, he has to be patient, because he's only able to speak at half the pace most people are, and it must be frustrating to him. So, he's had to learn to be patient with himself. And I think that since he has only had enough mana to barely stay alive for a good while, he also needed to adapt and learn quickly when it came to using his magic for more than a few adjustments here and there to the base.

He's giving himself time to learn, and taking it step by step. Which is an important quality and skill to have in a person. And I think it's that quality in him that also translates onto how he converses with others, allowing them, too, to take their time, which emphasizes how empathetic he can be. Because having actually time to formulate your words for someone willing to listen is a rare thing.

He has a lot of good qualities to him, but I think that his patience has allowed a lot of them to come to the surface in the best of ways.

🌼What is their strength as a character?

I think that the mystery that surrounds Henry makes him a good character. We still don't, really, know the condition he has that causes him to drain mana from others. Is it a curse? A disease? Something else? I think I saw someone suggest that Henry could be half giant similarly as Charmy is half dwarf. Which... would be interesting considering they take and supply mana, so they're in a way counterparts of each other.

But the fact that Henry is a mystery, allows them to have things like... a moving base, which is unlike any others, and would come as a surprise to most. He's an ace in the sleeve of the BBs.

🌻What is their weakness as a person?

Perhaps inability to relate to others? We haven't seen him open up to a lot of the characters, but I imagine that he'd find it difficult to relate to others due to being bedridden for most of his life and secluded from the world. He is patient and empathetic, but he probably needs to learn to understand the way it is for people who can come and go as they please, before doing more than just listening, quite simply because it can be very difficult for him to say anything.

As the series progresses, he gets around more and befriends the Bulls better, thus making him closer to them and able to find things to relate on, but I think it's very much a learning journey for Henry too.

Asta is probably his very first human friend (I say "human" because animals probably visited him before that), so he'd be the obvious choice to talk about when it comes to Henry and his friendships. And, in a way, since Asta didn't have magic and Henry didn't have magic to spare, due to... well, using it to live, I think they have a footing to connect on that aspect as well, though I don't think they talked about it when Asta came to chat in the early days when he was the only one to really connect with Henry due to being the only one really able to do so.

But aside of Asta, I think that Vanessa and Secre could both fall into the "caged person" thematic, since Secre was trapped as Nero for 500 years and Nessa was trapped in a literal cage, while Henry was... I suppose both, trapped in his own body that drains mana from those around him, and in his home due to said condition. But I could see Henry creating kinds of "nests" for both Nessa and Secre so that they'd have a comfy place to be. I don't mean a literal nest, but just a cozy nook for them to exist, because sometimes life is overwhelming, and even on a subconscious level I think he was able to relate to them. And though Nessa and Secre weren't able to come and chat with Henry as much, at least they felt cared for by their new home at the BB hideout.

1.Hellhound

-an only child

-rich family

-That bitch is latino, ok? So they know spanish, and their cooking is just chefs kiss

-spoils mel at every chance they get

-since Hellhounds have 3 heads in their animal form, there are 3 voices talking in their head in their human form, so constant headaches and arguments, they only quiet down around mel

^ will some times say "shut up bitches!,I'm trying to work over here!" at random

^^they did it once when bb was by their side, they almost broke into a fight

-big ass eyeliner, and they do it perfectly, mel is so jealous

-speaking of jealousy, they get super protective of mel when people try to hit on her, will come over to the bar and ask for ask for kisses

^whines of they didn't get kisses

-has a thing for accents obv

-is so clingy and cuddly, can't wait to go home and cuddle with mel

2.Windy

-youngest child, while tess is an oldest daughter, so childish banter all the time

-they miss their life as a human but they won't trade what they have (tess) for the world

-would burn they world for tess

-We know that they n tess are over 50 years old, so yeah, their clothing style is old money but on the dark side

-very insecure about themselves, they're pretty sure one day tess will just up and leave them

-30 years ago or so, tess tried dating around, every single person she had a liking or went out on a date with, is missing under Mysterious circumstances, tess doesn't know that though

-was working in a hair salon before they were turned, so they take care oc tess' hair

-they LOVE cats, pets each one they see in the streets, cats remind them of tess

-they were done fighting some bear shifter once, they cracked their skull and took like a quarter (from under the eyes up to the temple) and uses it in their costume

^their eyes glow so you can only see the light of the eye covered by the skull, tess told them it's creepy as hell, they told her that's the point

-they were so glad that their human eye color returned when it did

3.demon (i barely listened to this once, last year)

-rich mf

-they only smile around eris

-mommy issues

^(nsfw) therefore a mommy kink

-if you touch their tail/horns, they will either purr,or rip your hand off your arm there is bo in between

-very black/white mentality, they don't understand the rehabilitation process, despite being the one who roped eris into it

^they did it in hopes to understand it, it didn't work

-they train alot, even more with eris

^(NSFW) it ends up with them a moaning mess, as eris goes down on them

-very good at hiding emotions

^when they were dating the first time, eris had difficulty to figure them uo, take her DAYS just to have a clue, now she reads them like an open book

-they float alot, so instead of sitting they'll be laying on air,stomach down, near eris' shoulder as they talk

-brings her flowers everyday

-when they n eris broke up the first time, they fell into a depression up until she took them back

-they met tess and wendy wayy back before the pen

^they don't like tess n wendy, they have not explanation as to why, they just don't

i remember seeing a post a WHILE ago (not sure if it was actually on here or somewhere else) stating that anyone who says "the killjoys aren't mcr" is just lying to excuse writing rpf. which already on its own is just Incorrect, but then their evidence for this argument was essentially that, if the killjoys weren't mcr then more ppl would ship party/kobra bc there's nothing in canon that says they're siblings 💀

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

i think id have to say funpoison AND I SHIP FUNPOISON OKAY- i just think they're by far the most popular ship and they tend to be the default dd ship for most ppl, which leads a lot of especially newer fans to bring the up at Every Possible Moment even when the content they're interacting with isn't funpoison based (stuff like "wow i loved this story but i think id work better if it was funpoison instead of poisonstar"). its not a super huge or common occurrence, but in comparison to fans of other ships i think funpoison fans are just more likely to be annoying like that bc theres a lot more of them and its the main ship for new fans

9. worst part of canon

THE RACISM. the whole "japan takes over the world" thing is a gross and racist trope that stems from WWII propaganda, the way the director in particular is portrayed in the comics is just FILLED with racist stereotypes of east asian women, and the comics in general severely lack actual characters of color. this post and this post go a lot more in depth into these issues and id highly recommend reading them for those who havent heard a lot on this subject

10. worst part of fanon

ALSO THE RACISM. the best part of fanworks is that creators have the ability to improve upon parts of the original text in their own works, and yet there is is this refusal from white fans that fans of color have pointed out time and time again to acknowledge said racism in canon and how it carries over into fanon works. i know i was absolutely guilty of this in the past and im trying to do better, and i know the only way for us white fans to do better is to LISTEN TO PEOPLE OF COLOR. stop using aave as killjoy slang, stop turning jet star into the motherly one/making him an overbearing caretaker, stop recycling racist shit from the comics in fanart/fics

13. worst blorbofication

jet star. people just looooove giving my poor girl ZERO personality aide from "oh they're the mom friend" "oh they give the best advice" "oh she the one who takes care of the girl" LITERALLY SHUT UP AND GIVE HIM AN ACTUAL CHARACTER TRAIT FOR ONCE PLEAAASE. uhhhh yk i honestly cant rlly think of a common complaint thats not actual valid criticism.. OH maybe ppl who talk about actually genuinely wanting a danger days tv show. we have such a good thing going here with the lack of canon there is NO WAY any possible show they could make would be a good idea that wouldn't cause massive chaos in this fandom. and like i reallllly dont trust gerard or netflix or whoever the fuck would be in charge of this show to actually make it good im sorry i just dont its a bad idea on all fronts we gotta stop unironically talking about it 😭
