W.I.T.C.H. Character Headcanons (bc I say so)

So for those of you who don't know, I'm creating a rewrite of W.I.T.C.H. on Wattpad. It will essentially be if it were given a live action adaptation with a standing total of 60 episodes (5 seasons; 12 episodes per season). These headcanons all apply to said rewrite -- I have my Wattpad linked on my blog so go check it out!

Irma is canonically a Latina lesbian, that's zero debate, however I specifically headcanon her as Guatemalan.

Taranee and Peter Cook are canonically blasian! The Cooks are out here representing the blended families! I will be taking no arguments or criticisms!

I read a post a while ago about how every other fantasy world is based on Medieval Europe, Metamoor/Meridian being one of them and I was like "you know what would be cool? if instead Metamoor was based on Ancient Indian culture." so that's what I did and now Elyon and Phobos are ethnically Indian (Elyon's new name is Elyon Bhandari and I can't think of it as anything else now) (plus Metamoor is actually ten times more interesting with the amount of lore I'm creating for it).

sidenote: I need it to be known that Elyon will also be serving as the vice president of the Sheffield Student Government/Student Council to foreshadow her queenliness and she's also a book girly and she has initiative and Phobos is actually clever enough in his manipulation tactics for Elyon to not question everything until the last couple days leading up to her coronation. I wanted the queen to serve.

Everyone imagine real quick (cartoon) Matt Olsen as a black man. I don't know how I started picturing him black but now I cannot stop because it just works! We need a black lead guitar/lead singer of a rock band everyone will be making thirst edits over who is also humble kind sweet loyal loving-- And can I just say he would look sexy hot with the Shagon dreads! You cannot change my mind on this!

Kio Cyr is literally Eric Lyndon! I found an image with him in a NASA t-shirt and I was like "that's him folks!" Though, I do specifically headcanon Eric as Filipino.

Alchemy is now Alchemy Torres and she's a chem/bio nerd with an affinity for puzzles. I'm still figuring her out but she will gain more importance in S2.

I made a crackship out of Nashter (one of the Runics from the 100% WITCH arc) and Taranee and now it's very very serious. Not only does he have a British accent (do not ask) but he and Taranee are basically a detective duo/partners-in-crime turned besties in S3, which corresponds with the Crisis on Both Worlds arc which means angsty Taranee which means incredible banter between a smartass and a flirt.

And when I tell you that Nashter is the only white Runic I mean it: Darmon is lighter skin black, Shalin is Asian of some sort (specific region TBD), Cromo is dark skin black, and Ran-Rah is indigenous af.

Caleb lowkey is giving indigenous energy? I've barely touched him but the farthest I've gotten is that I saw one fanart of Caleb if he were on Phobos' side originally and now he has a whole defection arc in S1 from head of Phobos' guard to rebel leader in addition with angsty C&C so there's that going for us.

OK so I know that lots of people on this account won't know what I'm talking about here but it's literally the perfect time for a W.I.T.C.H reboot of any kind.

For people who have no idea what it is, W.I.T.C.H was basically a series of Italian comics that got made into an American magical girl cartoon which got cancelled after two seasons for no good reason. For those avatar lovers out there, the whole fire, water, earth and air thing plays a huge role, it's got friendship and really good humour go watch it.

It's been nearly 20 years now since the comic was first released. With the rise of avatar and the y2k+magical girl aesthetics I really think now is the perfect time for W.I.T.C.H to rise again.

Or at least get added to disney+ plleeasse🙏

Introducing Taranee Cook. She is a Photographer at the local newspaper that belongs to the Spring District. She’s 22 years old and strongly resembles Jaz Sinclair. She’s open.

Get to know her…

Tara is a generally calm and very sweet way who goes out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable, especially since she knows what it’s like to be the odd one out because of her childhood. She’s known to have a warm personality and loves to take pictures of everyone she meets with her old polaroid camera. She trusts easily and is always there for someone who needs advice. Still, she can be a little short tempered when provoked and when she’s angry she can get really aggressive, so it’s better not to anger her.

Welcome to the coast...

Taranee grew up in Sesamo, but moved to Heatherfield with her parents and her older brother, Peter, when she was 15. Before that, she’d always mostly kept to herself, working hard to do good in all of her classes, especially math and physics, that were her favorite subjects. She was the typical teacher’s pet, that could talk to and get along with classmates, but mostly kept to herself. This was good for her parents, since they were strict and like to see their girl working hard to be the best at her school. She spent her afternoons using her dad’s old camera to take pictures and playing basketball and soccer with Peter when he felt like bringing his little sis along to his friend reunions. Once she arrived at Sheffield, she was forced to get out of her shell a little and interact with all the new people she was meeting. This made her realize, while she liked to have her calm afternoons, she also liked to mix things up a little and go out to try new things and meet new people.

Stay a while...

Taranee’s power makes her really nervous. She’s never been one to love “playing with fire” and now that’s literally what she does every time she trains or uses her magic. Still, she loves the W.I.T.C.H. girls and does her best to be the calming voice in the group, while also motivating her friends to train with her. She trains especially hard because she knows even if she’s generally calm, she can lose her temper easily and this might lead to her losing control of her powers. On the other side of things, changing to Costa Serena wasn’t hard for her, since she’d already gone through a big move and was prepared for it. She’s been doing her best to meet new people and already joined the mathletes. She’s also working as a photographer for the local newspaper and loves her job dearly, even if it can be a little unpredictable at times.

Connections:

The W.I.T.C.H. girls (Best Friends): She met all of them when she moved to Heatherfield, having just a year to know them before the discovery of their powers. Still, she trusts them completely, especially Will, they met on their first day at Sheffield and they’re best friends.

Mitchell Merlin (Friend): They met while doing homework at the library and they started talking and realized they had a lot in common. He’s the first one she goes to when she needs inspiration for her pictures.

George Gurgi (Friend): Tara absolutely adores George and might even have a small crush on him, but for now the guy’s friendship is more than enough for her.

Is this what she gets for trying to help him find his friend? She didn't deserve to get yelled at and she certainly didn't deserve to have her feet almost blasted off (which she quick dodged the attack thank god. Boy, she wanted to set him on fire for that.) Ever since The Oracle requested the guardian to go on the mission alongside with Moonshot, he had been nothing but a pain. Complained non-stop! That really annoyed Tara. Right now, she's trying not to lose her temper with this fool. Deep breaths, T!
