It's a terrible plan. Well. Actually...it's a good plan, but Kat knows that there'll be hell to pay for it later. Still, that doesn't stop her from setting it in motion with Rory and Lia. Working at the supply depot means they can take what they need without raising the alarm. A few canned goods. Some extra water bottles. And asking Luna for an extra two weapons. The boys safely with Xo and Rhea, Kat waits until Hunter's gone off on a shift outside of town, before collecting Rory and Lia. Even if they're gone for a day, it'll be more time dedicated to searching for Lia's family than they've had before. Kat might not have been so keen to do this had it not been for that fight she's sure everyone in town heard. And she knows the three of them will face Hunter's ire when they get back. But she's been where Lia is before, and she knows that as much as she loves them, the Crosses will always come first. If her brother was still alive and missing, and she had to sit around waiting, hoping that they'd remembered to look for him, she'd be angry too. Even though she's sure Lia regrets her choices even more after the fight, she is family now. And that means Kat will help any way she can.

Once they're fifteen minutes past the town boarder, Kat finally exhales. Tossing off the blanket concealing her and Lia as Rory drives. She takes a breath of fresh air, "Jesus, that's going straight to the stables when we're back." Kat says as she rakes a hand through her hair and glances at Lia. "You good?" she asks, bundling up the blanket and handing it over to her as a make-shift pillow. "Rory, you alright driving for a bit?" She asks, clambering from the backseat to the passenger side to give Lia more space in the back. Crossing her legs beneath her, Kat digs out the map she'd put in the truck the night before. "Parsons is abandoned, but that don't mean we won't find any information. Then Brisco," she holds up the map for Lia to see in the back, pointing, "is next. There's a lot of towns between here and there, but I haven't heard anything about them being abandoned. Think we should stick to information gathering right now from the ones that've been confirmed," she glances at Rory, "don't wanna bite off more than we can chew." This time said with a wide grin as the adrenaline finally hits. This might been her craziest idea to date, but it's better than waiting for answers that might never come. @blackheartatl & @gloriouswhispers

I'm doing okay, but these days I barely have time to do anything besides work and nap.

But I'll be going back to Japan next month! For about three weeks. So I have that to look forward to.

It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!

The moment the radio sounds in the comms room, telling her to get to Town Hall, Kat expects the worst. She thinks of their pack, of Hunter, Elliot, Ryan, Wolf, and the others who'd gone to fight and she wills them to be okay. Kat runs, skidding across frosty ground until she bursts open the doors of Town Hall. Her hair settles around her like a cloud as she scans the room for signs of the injured. She skirts around streams of new wolves until she spots the Crosses' familiar figures. Only then does she breathe a sigh of relief before her eyes fall on the two dark-haired wolves with them.

It feels like the room tips on its axis and her heart stutters to a stop. Her mind races and whirs, and she doesn't even recognize the sound that escapes her as she jets across the floor. A sob leaves her as she collides with her two brothers. She may not understand how they're there, but she can't bring herself to question it as she gasps. "Oh my God." “Katsuki— have you seen my charger? I can’t find it anywhere.”

You call out as you make your way down the hall from your bedroom. Your boyfriend is sitting on the couch, having a rotting party all by his lonesome to really live out his day off. It’s a rare occurrence for him to be so inactive, but you surmise even pro heroes can be lazy every once in a while.

“Kats?”

Still nothing. You know for a fact that he can hear you, because you can see the way he subconsciously perks up the minute you say something. Definitely charming, but not enough to quell the growing mix of irritation and worry (mostly worry) brewing inside the pits of your stomach.

You make your way across the living room, standing in front of his place on the couch. He’s still not looking at you. No matter, you just decide to straddle him instead. His hands automatically find purchase on your hips, fingers just a few millimeters shy of your ass.

“Katsuki. What’s wrong?”

“Dunno who that is,” he huffs, head turning to the side so you can’t see the way his lips quirk down into a pout. (Because he swears up and down that’s something he never does.)

“Kats?”

“No.”

“‘Suki?”

“Close, but still no.”

“Baby?”

“Yeah, baby?”

"Have you seen my charger, handsome?"

"In your desk drawer on the right."

You smile. You press an innocent kiss to the tip of his nose. He pulls you flush against him before you can pull away, capturing your lips with his, appreciating the way the two of you meld against each other. He tries not to look too disappointed when you lift yourself off him and stand up. You lean down to give him a fleeting kiss on the cheek.

"Love you, Katsuki."

"Think you've got the wrong guy, sweetheart."

"No one remembered my birthday-" Well, but did YOU tell anyone it was coming up and you wanted to celebrate it with them?

"I wish someone would see through it when I tell people I'm fine-" Well, but have YOU considered not lying when people ask you how you're doing?

"I am so resentful of my friend because they keep doing this thing that really bothers me-" Well, but have YOU directly communicated that the thing is bothering you?

"I am burning out because my friend keeps expecting me to help them with serious struggles-" Well, but have YOU tried to establish the boundaries you need to feel okay?

"No one ever asks me about this thing I really care about-" Well, but have YOU brought it up yourself?

"I miss my friend but they haven't texted me-" Well, but have YOU been reaching out to them?

Sometimes people are mean, uncaring assholes, in which case you get to be mad. But sometimes you just need to communicate better. Try communication before you assume someone doesn't care!
