After The Witch | Part 1

Licorice gets assigned a mission to check on the new escapee cookies of the witch, it hopes to please his great master and bring more answers of the witches to them.
In the deepest parts of the Dark Lords castle, some scratches and splashes were heard. Surely a mess was being made.
“Yes, yes… it is almost complete. Surely this will please Dark Enchantress—!”
“Licorice.”
Startled, Licorice almost dropped a a bit too much of poisons mushrooms spores into the cauldron. That could’ve been messy. But once he regained his composure and recognized the voice— he groaned. Turning around to face Pomegranate. Not even hearing her due to how focused he was when she opened the door.
“Oh, what do you want?! I’m busy!”
Pomegranate scoffed, allowing herself to take a few steps closer to the so called wizard.
“Dark Enchantress sent me for you. She actually has a mission for you.”
“Eh-? Really?!”
“Mmm.”
With that, she raised her mirror at her ally. Allowing him to see.
“It seems that more cookies have escaped the witches oven. These are new…”
Licorice raised an eyebrow at this. What was Pomegranate getting at?
“… And?”
“Some will survive the outside world. Some will not. The forest will make sure to crumble most of them alive… Find them. So, so that we can ask them on what they saw. To know more about the witches. Do it right. Before any of them stumble on that pesky Gingerbrave and his friends.”
Licorice frowned, reaching for his scythe. This sounded easy enough.
“Right. Right.”
“Do not fail us.”
Licorice felt like he was walking for hours now. It’s been so long since he’s been on these part of the forest. It was gloomy… quiet.
There wasn’t any cookies in the forest it seemed. Just crumbs and jellies. It seemed like it was too late already. Since he didn’t wanted to risk it further, turning on his heel to leave. Until he stopped on his track, hearing a sniffle and whine inside the bushes.
Raising an eyebrow at this and holding his scythe closer to him, ready to strike if necessary. Licorice began to take steps closer to sound just beyond the bushes.
Once he was close enough. His eyes winded a bit. It was a cookie. Such a fragile cookie managed to make it so far? He then scoffed.
“You! Pink-Cottoned-Haired Cookie quit your crying!”
With this-- the crying cookie perked and even jumped back, looking up at the taller Cookie with the scythe who loomed over her so easily.
“it's... Not cotton...”
She said, wiping her tears.
“I'm Strawberry Shortcake Cookie... Who are you?”
Licorice signed, kneeling down to her.
“Licorice Cookie. Now tell me. What happened to the other cookies. You escaped the oven, didn’t you? How did you get so far… You must have had some help. You look… too weak to survive on your own.”
“I don’t know… It all happened so fast! In a blink of an eye even! I was— running and running! And.. it all went black. I don’t- remember the rest… I’m sorry…”
Licorice frowned and sighed, standing back up.
“I see. Come on now. We don’t want you to crumble now,”
Licorice said, turning around.
“H-huh?! Where are you going?”
“Somewhere safer. And further away from the witches hut. So, I recommend following me, Shortcake.”
Licorice said with a light snicker. And with this— Strawberry Shortcake got up in an instant, following after the other cookie.
