"You know, you should loosen up a bit, Spencer. Live a little." From the clench of his jaw you knew you'd finally got to him. You loved toying with him like this, sitting in the desk opposite him and goading him until he scowled at you.

That scowl was one of the sexiest things you'd seen. Having witnessed the man physically restraining murderers and criminals, twisting their arms behind them and pushing them up against a wall, you could only wish for him to do so with you.

"I do plenty of living, Y/N." His eyes finally met yours. At least you'd succeeded in getting his attention away from the files on his desk.

"I'm sure," you started, letting your eyes slowly dip down his body, forcing them to run back up. "That you do plenty of living. I'd just like to see some evidence of it."

Your tone dripped with innuendo, and the seductively polite smile you fabricated at the end was the cherry on top of it all.

"What kind of evidence would you like?" He said, rising slightly, tipping his body over the desk so his lips were inches from yours, your body unconsciously rising to meet his.

"Photographic evidence? How about videos? I could get you some witness testimonies for you if you'd really like." His face was stern, but his eyes betrayed a hint of arousal, dropping to your lips as he watched your tongue lick along them as he spoke.

"I want some first-hand evidence. Show me just how much living you do."

I think George would make New Year's all about you, wanting to capture you in every moment and of course there would be an abundance of drinks and food because there's no better way to celebrate. Plus I feel George would hold off from kissing you until Midnight, just to make a cheesy joke.

"I haven't kissed you since last year."

8. A toast to new beginnings

2021 had been a year of ups and downs, not just for George and I, but everyone really.

George and I had finally settled into moving forward with our relationship, locked in a few different apartment tours and making sure the neighbourhood wasn't scary.

This new year's party was one of the last times all of our friends would be in the same room, adult life getting in the way and all.

I look at the clock, 5 to midnight, no wonder I'm sleepy.

"With 2022 only 5 minutes away, I would like to make a toast!" George bellows as he stands on the table, not that he needed any extra height. Fred stands by his side, steadying his swaying brother ensuring the alcohol won't knock him on his ass.

"Be careful." I warn, only causing George to wink at me.

"2021 has been a hell of a year, we've all achieved so much and I am proud of all of us." George gushes, the room filling with awhs and soft giggles.

"I'm not sure if any of you know, but Y/n and I are moving in together and we've been together now for three years!"

I shake my head at my boyfriend, laughing at his little speech, of course everyone here knows this.

"With now only three minutes to go, Y/n." George looks at Fred who nods, helping him jump off the table as he falls to one knee.

"Will you make 2021 the best year of my life?"

My mouth falls open as George pulls out a ring box, the simple yet elegant silver ring shining in the light. Everyone gasps and awhs, I feel tears prick my eyes as I nod, my voice escaping me as George smiles, pulling me into a hug.

"It's midnight!" Ron yells as everyone cheers.

George cups my face, pulling our lips together as I smile against him. George pulls away from me, putting the ring on my finger and holding it up in the air.

"A toast!" George yells, looking over at me and kissing the back of my hand, "To new beginnings!"

Your voice was barely a hint of a whisper, but he caught it nonetheless, pulling your t-shirt off of you before you had the chance to back track. You dropped your first aid equipment as his hands began exploring your body.

"I can't feel any injuries, but I'd have to see more to be sure."
