Celeste has heard the voices of the deceased for as long as she can recall. 🌙

The whispers that coax her to the aether tell of a person's hopes, dreams, emotional disposition, and sometimes, their latent magical abilities. Celeste studied hard at University, learning occult practices and fey lore and how most mortals commune with forces unknown, and eventually learned to use this ability for good, travelling with her compatriots, reading fortunes, and advising fairegoers as mages of olde would advise kings of the time. 🔮

The plane is Midgard, and the time is but Present Day, if only a reality slightly to the left, so a lot of that occult and ancient practice in divine wisdom involves much mundanity: driving, camping, smoking weed, occasionally adopting a runaway, watching one of your best friends erupt into twigs and leaves. The usual. 🍁🖤🍂

As is so often the case, her sights became stranger still, seeing undead auras and manifestations of long-dead highwaymen like smoke in the air, until finally a jolt to the spirit flares her visions to full force, and she Awakens as a mage. 🌌

I had a really fun time putting this costume together, I love how flowy and comfy it is, and the patterned wrap has so many ways it can be worn so shooting outside was not nearly as chilly as anticipated, the air and soil still freshly wet from last night's storm. 🌩🌧

Can't wait to revisit her character soon, and if I could have done anything different with this shoot, if I have to say, I would have looked for a good replica of Celeste's fire iron. Maybe next year. 💫

Part Two of costumes is tomorrow, and you'll get the pleasure of meeting Alyssaria of Rakdos, heir to the Raven Queen's throne. I love me a spooky fantasy costume theme. 💀🗡

Thoughts 💭 - What do you think your f/o thinks about you when you're not around?

My favorite thing to think abt Morpheus is his mood effecting the Dreaming, which, is decidedly canon in the comics. Whenever he’s brooding he puts his palace on a big ole brooding mountain and makes it rain.

So, for Thales? The exact opposite effect. It suddenly becomes very sunny, walls become Ivy covered, meadows are full of flowers— Fiddlers green has never looked more colorful!

Whenever he’s missing Thales he saunters down to the dreamscape he made for him and waits for him to come back.

There was a very unfortunate incident whilst Lucienne was giving a run down on duties that suddenly a very familiar face appeared in the stained glass, haloed by a yellow sun, draped in a Grecian tunic. Morpheus tries to keep any spreading of the story from happening but every denizen of the dreaming knows it only a few hours later.

Song 🎵 - What's a song your f/o knows by heart, and a song you know by heart?

THIS. For sure!! Sunlight is the center of the beautiful, beautiful venn diagram that makes up my Thales x Morpheus playlist that is 1. Things Morpheus thinks about Thales 2. Things Thales thinks about Morpheus and 3. Songs that that are vaguely the vibe for what Thales would write for Morpheus

The best part about Morpheus is that Thales doesn’t even have to present the songs or poems to him, he just has to think of them, and they’re already in the Dreamings library. Lucienne has read every draft of every song, poem and hymn that Thales has written for Morpheus and is the ultimate wingman bc she leaves only the finished versions out for Morpheus (but the rest almost certainly have their own nook carved out in the library)

This song stands out in particular bc it’s Morpheus’ favorite to hear Thales sing, and it’s Thales’ favorite to sing for him <3

One thing before I go to bed.

I am so so so infatuated either the idea of Morpheus giving Thales his own ruby pendant and just. Saying that it’ll help Thales move from the waking realm into the dreaming and Thales is like “oh thank you”

But. It’s a piece of Morpheus. Literally he puts some of himself into the pendant so he’s always with Thales and it becomes a comfort for Thales when he’s experiencing anxiety or stress to play with the pendant and it calms him down b but it,,, it ca lms hi m down bc it’s Morpheus,,, ,, Morpheus is always with him,,,,,, over his heart,,,

🖕Bastardcore🖕 ~ Are there any “flaws” of your F/O that you find endearing?

Unfortunately it’s the emotional repression, or the attempts at it. Otherwise I wouldn’t date three emotionally unavailable men, now would I?

No, but in more serious answer characters that would be considered more uh… “aloof” or even perhaps “cold” are so good to me. Especially when thinking about the logistics of hanging out. As much as I still adore characters like Jaskier or Peter or Adrian, they ARE going to want to fill in the silence and I’m AWFUL at small talk (though Jaskier probably has a lot of experience filling the silence on his own)

Which is why characters like Morpheus and Geralt are so appealing to me! We can just sit in silence and both be perfectly content. Parallel play and all that.

While Geralt is prepping his sword for the next monster or Morpheus is reading his books we can both be totally content in just leaving it at that. No need for awkward conversation.
