Story below cut
An is a Music Fairy, who managed to survive the extinction of 96% of Pixie Hollow. The rest of Neverland took her and her friends in, but she lost more than just friends. Her father figure, the queen...
She worked with Len, a Tinker fairy, to try and find how to keep the rest of them from dying. Unfortunately, the only possibility came to them too late, causing them the loss of Miku, Kohane and Meiko.
Akito, Rin, Len and An took the lead to flying to the mainland, taking people who they felt a strong bond with. An found Emu. Len found Minori. Akito found Rui. Rin found Rui.
The few other remaining fairies found theirs, and thus came about the legends of "Peter Pan and the Lost Boys". An wasn't sure where the name Peter came from, but... The last of her home had been saved.
Emu led the Lost Kids on their adventures daily, Len going with them as "Tinker Len". An kept tending to the wounds that fairies had from almost dying. Learned the exact reason they were still alive during it.
As long as Emu and the kids believed in the fairies and stayed young, they would be alright. Len and An would make sure of it.
However... One fateful lost shadow in the middle of the night, and An had to chase after Emu to the mainland. Where she met the Tenmas. Saki was almost in complete control of An, she was so excited. And after a bit of interacting, Toya was as well. Tsukasa...
Tsukasa was the issue. He kept talking about how amazing the mainland was. An and Len had to take action. Len tried to warn Emu, but An wasn't scared of being seen as a villain. Neither was Akito. At first, An tried to get thwarted lost kids to shoot Tsukasa out of the air, onto rocks. Emu managed to save him, giving An a glare.
The second time, Akito went to the mermaids. Once again, Emu saved Taukasa.
Desperate, the two music fairies approached an art fairy, Akito's sister, Ena. And the strangest case of a winter fairy who wasn't bound by the seasons, Mafuyu. With the help of Vidia, Iridessa, and Rosetta, the last remaining friends of the greatest Tinker Fairy, they went after the pirate ship.
They were surprised to see Len being chummy with Tsukasa. An nearly felt too guilty to continue. Akito did. Ena took him back to Neverland as An led the charge against the ship.
Vidia removed the pixie dust from the tree with her talent. Everyone but Emu started falling. Vidia had to hold her in place with a tornado bubble.
Mafuyu, Iridessa and Rosetta saved the Lost Kids, Saki and Toya.
An circled around Tsukasa. Saying an apology he'd never understand. Pretending to give him Pixie Dust.
And right before she pretended to reach out to hold him.
"I forgive you."
An froze as Tsukasa landed on the rocks below. How did he understand...?
They arrived back to the shores of Neverland. Emu yelling at each of the fairies. An didn't hear.
They returned to the fairy home. Len got the explanation.
And An broke. Sobbing, apologizing. Begging to understand.

Last night, we (my mom and me) had to put on CONSTRUCTION GLOVES to grab my near 6 month old kitten from under my bed to put her in a harness and leash and black towel in order to make it so she couldn't get into (yes, into) my boxspring.
My mom has 4 bandaids on her right hand. I have 1 in an annoying spot. The kitten (understandably, she's only been here for 5 days) has regrown EXTREMELY WARY of me. But! She sleeps on my bed a little sometimes from what I can see, so I count that as a small victory. Small. I still got set back like... 5 weeks. With trust building.

This is out of left field, but the cut song "Obvious" from DEH.
The line "How could you miss, something that's this plain to see? When it's glaring, and staring right at you so obliviously."
I never realized how much that line pisses me off. Like, the song is good. The lyrics fit, but...
"How can you miss such an obvious thing?” Easily. Many different reasons, but...
Some people ignore. Sometimes, it's obvious to the person who's causing it, but they've learned to act so "normal" it's not to anyone else. Sometimes they're slower in that aspect. Sometimes they just don't get it in the way you're making it obvious, because they're just too literal or even the opposite.
I bet you couldn't tell a normal post between me and Miizu. Miizu had to learn how to be me. To a point where it can become blurry when she does.
Obvious for you is not obvious for everyone.
To call someone stupid for not seeing what you mean or getting it, because it's obvious to you is rude and unfair.
Especially when not long before they mentioned wanting to grab things they can use against themselves. And have been combating worse thoughts for the past few days.

Chapter 1 - Re-Union

Chapter Summary: "Yuki" goes to save their old friend from a marriage. Emu is strangely calm about it all...
Staring at the small girl in front of her, the elder motioned for the hand maid in training to go inside for a little bit. They watched as she shuffled in, before turning back to the younger princess and bowing on a knee.
“Then I promise, under our Goddess Solaria, to marry you when the time is right. That way, we can be friends forever! And never have to worry about any chaos.”
They watched rose eyes widen and sparkle in excitement. “Deal!!”

A deep breath was taken outside the church. The Church of Phoenix was a very careful bunch normally. It had taken a lot to convince them to let their little entourage past as if they were just late guests.
Thankfully, the person who ran the church was a good friend of the late Fuyuki Empire's queen, and was willing to help the new king... for a proper silence fee. Yuki couldn't blame him, honestly. If the king found out that a priest helped, the chances of him being banished were high – meaning the funds he got would be used to start a new life in the Fuyuki Empire.
Yuki felt the hand of Mizuki on their shoulder, glancing over. “We're all ready when you are. Just give us the command.”
Turning around, Yuki faced their small army. Mizuki, Akito, Ena, Tsukasa, Kaito and Luka... They deserved a very big compensation for this. Raising its sword, their eyes narrowed. “Let's save her.”

Emu didn't dare look up from the floor. Her bangs covered her pained and upset eyes, her ears hearing the marriage celebrant drone on with the usual things. Not that any of it was true for her...
She didn't love being married off to a person she hated. Let alone, at all. She felt this was wrong, like it was a broken promise... She couldn't remember if it was in actuality... Closing her eyes, she waited for when she would be forced to lie. To say she does...
“If anyone can show why the prince and the princess should not be lawfully joined together under our gods, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.” Emu braced for no one to talk.
... She did not brace for the doors of the hall to be kicked open. Like everyone in the hall, she sharply turned to her right, to see a small party entering. The leader kept their eyes hidden under their hair, but spoke clearly and loud.
“Princess Emu has promised under the Goddess Solaria's name to marry one other than this prince. To break a promise under Solaria's name is to break a promise with the goddess.”
Emu realized she seemed the calmest about the situation. Even her elder sister, who didn't like the wedding either, seemed scared. Rose eyes watched as the purple haired leader approached the alter. Those who had come with kept the guards of her kingdom back, her guards storming the leader.
“Aht aht aht! No touching Commander Yuki!” A pink haired guard said, almost as a taunt as she and a ginger one took out all the guards going at Yuki (the leader...?).
“Tch... If I knew you'd make this so so much work, I’d have just killed you sooner.” The words of the prince she nearly married scared her more than the interruption had, her attention sharply turning to him. Sword in hand from the wall, he ran back at Emu, point aimed at her torso.
Flinching and closing her eyes, she expected to feel pain. Instead, she heard her name being called from Yuki, eyes opening in time to see Yuki disarm the prince by blocking the attack. Emu assumed that Yuki's face was terrifying, as the prince fell back and backed up as they pointed their sword at him.
“ Anyone else wish to try and hurt the princess or us? ” Yuki said, looking at the wedding attendees. When no one spoke, Yuki put their sword away and turned to Emu. It must have been a surprise when she didn't seem scared or surprised, since Yuki seemed to hesitate before kneeling and bowing. “My king has sent us to retrieve you, if you w—”
“Okay.” She watched the Commander looked up surprised again. Well, why would she want to stay here...? Especially if she made a promise to marry someone else.
“Ah... *ahem* Mizuki and Luka will escort you to collect what you wish to bring with. We leave before the end of the day, then.”
The two pink haired ‘invaders’ smiled and followed Emu back to the castle as she glanced back to watch Yuki speak to a brown haired girl. She could hear the girl Yuki talked to address the crowd as she left.
Emu grabbed a small bag, Luka (she was the one who insisted on helping in the room) then helping and suggesting a few things as well. Emu denied all but a small snowflake shaped locket, packing a few books and one thing from her mother and sister otherwise. Soon, they returned to where the Fuyuki Empire carriages were. Her eyes closed and she fell unconscious from stress.
When she woke up a few hours later, they had set off. The other guard who escorted her to her room, Mi... Something. Sitting up, the other smiled.
“Ah, you woke up! Glad to see it was just from stress like Ena said.” She hummed and leaned forward a little. “Still, you were out for a long while. Good few days, since we're almost home. We should make it back to the castle near noon if all goes well~ Eh heh heh~ Then I get to bug Ena for the rest of the day about getting her measurements for a new dress~~”
Emu blinked a little, confused.
“Annnnyywayyy~ I'm Mizuki, your new personal guard~ Nice to meet ya officially, Princess Emu!”
Emu nodded looking out the window of the carriage. “We're almost to our destination...? How long was it out for...?”
Mizuki seemed a little worried. “About 3 days... Ena and Kaito said it was just stress, but you really had us worried... Besides that, you seemed really calm.” Emu glanced back to Mizuki as the guard sighed. “Well, it's great you're awake and okay. You hungry? I can ask Kaito to grab some snacks for ya.”
Emu nodded a little.
Mizuki smiled and opened the window next to her, calling out of it to the Kaito and asking him to grab a snack or two. Emu took a deep breath as that happened, smiling a little. She felt free.
