Synopsis: childlike, and excited s/o

A/n: hello hello! That’s a long list of rules but I’m 90% sure I followed them all >:D! I haven’t answered a request in a while, and I do apologize it took so long to get to this one, but I really enjoyed writing this! Hope you enjoy, and stay hydrated yourself >:O!

I think he enjoys your eagerness, and overall joy that you bring to his life. He really enjoys having you around, even before he realized he had feelings for you.

Zhongli doesn’t laugh often, but when he does it’s because of you. He always laughs with you, and it’s always a genuine and hearty laugh. It’s somewhat amusing how you can make the man who always seems so stone faced, let out the biggest and most genuine laugh you’ve ever heard.

He lovessss when you ask him something with genuine enthusiasm and curiosity. He gets to talk for a while (zhongli is truly someone who likes the sound of his own voice), and you get to learn something new. It’s a win-win!

He can get a little nervous with how carefree you are. Zhongli is very logical, and down to earth, so he sometimes doesn’t understand just how you can be so carefree? He admires it, but will occasionally have to be the voice of reason :’)

You both probably piss people off. Cause on one hand, you have the carefree sweetheart, and on the other you have the smug and secretly rather logical bastard.

The like… energy you both bring with you is so… astonishing???? Like kaeya by himself already brings a rather interesting vibe with him, but you two together??? The room will be rolling on the floor laughing, and having the best time hanging out with you both.

Kaeya really likes teasing you, I mean he would like teasing you regardless of your characteristics, but now??? You’re so eager, and then quickly turn bashful just by kaeya teasing you. It’s hilarious to him.

Dawn winery will never be the same without you there. You really bring the kind of energy that dawn winery was missing, and Diluc can never go back to the way it was before you. You once left for a trip to sumeru to visit some friends who are currently studying at the Academia. Diluc was like a sad dog waiting for their owner to come home from work. He quite literally, cannot live without you.

You seem so interested in everything, and ask him a fair amount of questions about the wine making business. Which he thinks is nice but- OUT OF EVERYTHING YOU COUKD ASK HIM YOU ASK HIM ABOUT WINE :’)

Probably asks you to go to angels share when he has to work with him a lot. Not you also working, but you sitting at the bar, just talking with him. It really does make his shift sooooo much better. And people like kaeya or venti a little more tolerable.

That's a lot of questions lol but I'll do my best: 1. It's a bit complicated. Other than like very basic stuff required for school assignments, I first did digital art using a mouse in late 2020, but only really did so semi-consistently (more than once a month) for a period of 2-3 months in 2021. After that, I went back to drawing stuff very rarely, (I basically didn't draw for all of 2023). Now, I got my first drawing tablet for Christmas this year, and have been drawing fairly consistently (mostly 1/week) since then, so idk. 2. Depends on the piece. For characters, I usually have 2-5 lineart layers (head, body, any other objects/details, sometimes separate hand layer), plus 1-2 color layers and sometimes a shading layer (most of the time I do this on the color layer, but it depends). However, I did try doing a sort of background piece (dorm room for a TTRPG character of mine) that has probably about ~70 layers because I made 2 for each object in the room (lineart+color), and it's still not finished. 3.

4. Like 90% of stuff. Most types of clothing, 3/4 profile faces, any kind of natural background, proportions, fur, any kind of shading/rendering, portraying motion, etc. I am fairly new to a lot of art stuff, so most times I'm drawing stuff I have to learn how to draw that stuff as I go. Sometimes I can pick it up quickly, but a lot of the time I just end up pivoting towards something I can actually draw.

🌊 Tsunami - When and where do you like to write?

When? I am usually best in either the wee early mornings (like crack of dawn time) or late late nights. Coincidentally, both times are when it is quiet and still and no one is around to bug me (imagine that). More so it’s been morning time lately b/c my eyes are far too tired when evening hits and I have to stop staring at screens.

Where? Mostly my bed, with my ipad perched on my knees. It has a keyboard-case, so it’s not awkward and actually pretty handy. I do like to sometimes go for a drive and write in my car (see above about not having anyone around to bug me, lol) but that’s hard to do in the summer time around here; I’d melt!

🌈 Rainbow - What do you think makes your story unique / stand out?

Oh wow. Um…I was known for being really good at smut for the longest time… kind of embarrassing, really. I mean, I pour my heart into fics and all anyone can say is “that was so hot”. I mean, don’t get me wrong, good smut is hard to pass by and I am thrilled people enjoyed it (ahem) but yeah, I wanted people to notice my fantastic story telling not my fantastic story-humping, lol if you know what I mean. Hmm. Other than that, I’m not sure. I think my approach to humor and dialogue makes them stand out. I’ve also been told I give good plot. I am honestly the worst at figuring the answer to this type of question. See writer’s guilt and self-deprecation for details. 🤓

📚: Your OC has to improvise a 10 minute lecture about a topic of their choosing. What do they chose?

Oh she was practically training for this moment her whole life. The only difficult part about this for her is deciding between history or entomology.

Honestly, this probably wouldn't be a lecture. It's just Poppy info dumping one of the things she loves. Granted, she'll make it as proffesional as possible, but you can just see how passionate she is about these subjects.

🌳: Would your OC survive for a week on their own in the wilderness?

Hmm... It's kind of tough to say. As stated above, Poppy's got a vast knowledge on insects, so she'd at least know which ones are dangerous and which ones are safe. And I think she'd be able to figure out a few tricks if given enough time. Not to mention she's cautious enough to steer clear of trouble as best as she can. Though there are other factors to consider too.

Though at least compared to Roger in the Trail Mix-Up short, she'd be able to tough out the wilderness longer than he did XD

🌊: Has your OC ever seen the ocean? If not, do they want to? What do they think of it?

Actually, yes. She has seen the ocean! In Toontown's Beach. Poppy will sometimes visit the beach, usually later when there are less people around, and just go for a nice stroll along the shoreline. Or a swim if it's particularly hot out.

Poppy thinks the ocean is beautiful, but scary too. She's read some of the things we've discovered- and the fact that we haven't even covered half of the sea, so who knows what else is in there? So she usually just sticks with the safer Toontown waters. Though if she had a friend with her, she might be willing to go in the human ocean.

🤝: Does your OC have someone they want at their side when they are scared? Who?

That's actually kind of hard for her. Whenever she was scared in her days as an actress, for whatever reason, she was at most encouraged to 'look the part', or a worst told to get over it. So, subconsciously at least, she's been taught that no one would want to help her. So although she'll show fear, she would try to hide her need for someone so she won't be a burden.

Whether or not she actually has somebody, depends entirely on the timeline we're talking about. If we're talking about the canon timeline- no distant cousins, no weasel boyfriend, just her, then she's on her own. In the self-indulgent timeline, she would have and want her lover with her. Once she gets used to the fact that she actually has somebody.

🌌 : If your OC has a nightmare, what’s it most likely about?

Oooh boy. Well, her fabricated life and early real life is what she most often dreams about. The memories she has of being killed off, the treatment she received during her acting career, just... A lot.

The overall theme of her nightmares would be death. Whether it be her re-living her experiences, or her brain tormenting her with her fear and wonder about what lies beyond toon death- what happens to toons after they are killed off permanently.

🪤: What is one thing that could be used to lure your OC into a trap?

I know this'll sound cliche, but it's true. Love. If she hears that her loved one- family, friend, or lover- is in danger, Poppy will try to save them. Even with her fear of what could happen, her love for them would be enough to get her to buck up and try to be the hero instead of the victim.

This applies to her falling in love too. Her first ex is a prime example of this; took advantage of her naivete, and reveled in the money and fame of being an actress' boyfriend before deserting her. Essentially, her love for someone will blind her to the red flags and dangers of something. Or someone.

🕐: Was there ever a time your OC would have given everything to turn back the clock 5 minutes? What happened?

The worst five minutes of her whole life... Poppy was ready to pay for her haul, and the cashier was waiting expectantly for her... But then, Poppy noticed she couldn't find her wallet despite clearly remembering it being in her purse... The line behind her grows longer and more agitated, as the rabbit grows more desperate and anxious to just pay for her groceries and leave. And possibly never return to this store again...

Yeah, Poppy is all too familiar with the feeling of unintentionally holding up the line. And she would give everything she has to turn back the clock to try to prevent it from happening in the first place XD

📅: If your OC had one day left to live, how would they spend it?

Honestly, she'd be hesitant to believe this at first, though then would freak out; was someone coming to dip her? Was she going to just disappear? Why did she have so little time!? She'd be a bit more calm if she knew this was happening, like it was some toon terminal illness or something.

Though, once she calms down, Poppy would try to just enjoy the rest of her time. Maybe take one final walk along the beach before succumbing to her final hour. Though the whole time she's trying to enjoy herself, she'd be plagued with the growing dread that she's at deaths door for real.

I’ll admit, as pathetic as it sounds, seeing your name and response did make my heart skip. I suppose I did ask for your advice, so I’m not entirely sure why I’m surprised to have received it, but I’m appreciative anyway.

We both know I’ve never been very good at giving myself slack, especially when things began to worsen, but I’m trying. This new life (and existing as a prisoner in my own mind while Kenjaku puppeted my body, but that’s a talk for another time) came with many gifts, but the clear headedness after years upon years of fog generated by curse consumption has got to be the best so far, it makes it so much easier to examine my actions and spot my wrongdoings, it just comes with more guilt than I know how to handle, I guess.

I had moments at home too, when my doubt would chip away at the insanity just enough to have me question whether I genuinely believed the things I was saying and doing. Of course the answer was no, but at the time I wasn’t all there to admit that.

Sometimes I wonder how things would have been different if I told you how badly eating all of those curses effected me, saw someone for that and slowed down the rate at which I was taking them all in… or, if I knew the plan you had to rework the world of jujutsu sorcerers, fix the backwards system the elders had put in place. Can you imagine what the world would’ve been like if I didn’t jump into the deep end? Haha. I think I was just… tired. Tired of hiding, tired of feeling guilty for existing, tired of so many people getting hurt despite our best efforts go keep them safe. Maybe I was scared, I certainly am now, to some degree.

I’m not sure where they’re going to take us in canon, now that you’ve escaped the Prison Realm, but I hope wherever it is, it gives us both some peace. A fresh start would be nice, but you’ve got to get Kenjaku out of my body for that, and well… who knows how fresh that start would even be. I like to hope there’s a chance for things to get better between us, for me to improve in canon as much as I have and continue to now. Accepting every piece of myself is going to be incredibly difficult, as I’m sure you’re more than aware, but… I’ll try. I’ve never been very good at telling you no.

Thank you again for everything you said, it relieves a bit of the stress, the anxiety and the guilt, honestly. I… hope it’s alright to say, but, I do love you, Satoru, even if you aren’t mine. I hope this life treats you well. — Suguru (#☀️🌊)

but our dear, poor old ace wasn’t think correctly! i mean- what else was he supposed to do the day before the person he loves wedding day? lay around and wallow in self loathing? no! so he and deuce went to the bar where they had a little too much too drink…where we and deuce sat around in their self loathing… 😐👍

and sometime later, deuce passed out from his owl tolerance.. but some customers swore they saw a man- a foreign one they made sure emphasize- buy another round for ace. asking the drunken guard about why there’s a side influx of royalty here at pomefiore.

and as ace loves to hear himself talk, woefully says “ahh- that’s cause the kid’s only heir- y/n is getting married” he slammed his hand on the bar. the other patrons too blissed to care. “to that entitled chihuahua”

his company only nods, eyeing his snoring companion as his eyes lit up with an idea.

“oh? is that so?” ace nods sorrowfully. head now resting on his arms. the stranger couldn’t help but nod slowly, head on his knuckles as he traces the rim of the glass, slowly, gently- like he was handling a new born.

“well” he mused, looking around the bar. echoes of laughter and shouts of drunken nonsense all he and anyone else could hear. he looked to the bar itself.

seeing a group hang off eahcother like sea otters trying not to go adrift as the tender was too busy talking to another lone gentleman. cleaning a glass while doing so

“well…” he whispers, the coldness of his breathe causing goose bumps to arise from his skin. traveling down his spine and to the tips of his toes. sobering his mind as he finally caught the strangers eye. he felt his heart stutter- almost sobering him to grab his friend and get out.

Regarding what Childe’s voice sounds like, the wonderful Griffin Burns is your answer. I’m a huge fan of his portrayal, and discounting the talent he puts into bringing Childe’s English voice to life would be a shame. As for the second half... it’s both, kinda? It depends on who they’re speaking to--like if they’re dealing with their younger siblings or other kids, for example, they use a very simple vocabulary. If dealing with other members of the Fatui? That’s when their sizeable vocabulary comes out...sometimes. It depends on their mood, really. 🧊 » what does your character first notice about another individual? It’s all about the body language. When meeting someone for the first time, or if they’re approaching someone by, say, walking up to them on the street or walking into a different room, Childe analyzes any visible body language as best as he can, much like reading an opponent’s mannerisms and stance. Their emotions, their intentions, the way they carry themselves--he’s got it all down in a matter of seconds, provided the other person isn’t a master of concealing such things. If they are, he picks up on that instead. 🌊 » how old does your character feel on the inside and why? The short answer is that it varies. The long answer...hurts.

Sometimes, they feel like someone old--ancient, even. They’ve died over and over, and as such, have lived countless lifetimes in that sense. They’ve seen things no mortal should ever have to see; crossed paths with and obtained powers that humans weren’t meant to wield. They’re battle-worn, but somehow still battle-hungry, as if they’ll never know when enough is enough because what they do know is that there is no end in sight. They’re a blade constantly kept sharp, a tense hair-trigger away from slicing into the next opponent, but such tension comes with a cost. A weapon can be polished and sharpened only so many times before it inevitably wears away. Inside, they’re so very tired, and they still don’t know when to quit.

Other times, either mercifully or tragically, they feel like a little kid again. They can run around and feel the sun on their face, laughing and smiling, and they can easily play with a group of kids and have fun doing so. Somewhere inside, their inner child always wants out, and it’s part of the reason they’re so good with kids in the first place. They never quite lost that little mischievous spark within. This is the mercy life has shown them. The tragedy that weighs them down in exchange, however, is that this same inner child, when not surrounded by kindred spirits...feels so alone. Their normal childhood ended the night they fell into the Abyss, and they never had a chance to finish growing up the same way as other children their age. That chance was taken from them, horrifically so--though they wouldn’t ever openly describe it that way now. Instead, they just internalize it and feel it, fighting off a sense of loss and abandonment that sometimes keeps them up at night when they aren’t tired enough to collapse into a dreamless sleep.
