(Potentially) new information from the Spy x Family exhibit book!

Okay, I’ve done some digging around and not gonna lie, some information in there has me excited. I can’t read Japanese so I took photos and put them through translate, so it’s not the most accurate, and please take this post with a grain of salt. Here we go!

Translations are more than welcome! Feel free to use these photos and feel free to DM me for clearer photos. I would also love to know what this all means haha. Japanese “raw” text is taken from Google translate and may be inaccurate to what is actually shown in the photos.

✩ The SxF world apparently has no Christmas!

I’ve heard claims of it, and here’s a picture I took.

こちらは冬の休載イラストです。電飾一個一個を北斗神拳ばりに連打して描きました。クリスマスっぽい雰囲気を出していますが、『SPY×FAMILY』の世界にクリスマスはありません。”

Google translate tells me that there’s no Christmas in the SxF world but he tried to create a Christmas-like atmosphere? Not sure but it would align with other people’s claims.

✩ Yuri apparently had a girlfriend in a rough draft!

This is Endo’s handwriting so the machine can’t recognise the words easily, but I think the woman in the bottom of Yuri’s sheet is his “girlfriend”? And Google translate tells me she’s Yuri’s “weakness” and Twilight might use her against Yuri / take advantage of the girlfriend? This is a very interesting idea that didn’t get used in canon (yet?). I think in canon, Yuri is popular but he’s too devoted to his sister. A new significant other of a prominent character would shake things up. Especially when it comes to Yuri, a member of the SSS.

By the way, Yuri’s potential designs are kind of cool. I like the ponytail.

✩ Apparently “Oscar” was one of Twilight’s potential names! + Early Twilight designs

I think we know Yor was originally short for Yorlanda (this is in the upper sheet). There’s a whole list of names beside Twilight and the name Oscar オスカー appeared frequently. There are also more names that I can’t decipher.

✩ Designs of some potential WISE agents! (And early Fiona)

Fiona’s sheet (next to Yuri’s) was titled “WISE spy (female)” and now we have a sheet titled “WISE spy (male)”. Was Fiona a placeholder spy that made it to the main cast? Or will this “male spy” end up having significance too? The two smaller heads at the left are apparently Twilight’s associates. Also, a Melinda sketch. Not gonna lie, the male spy feels kinda cute. Hope he’s not completely scrapped.

✩ Endo’s interview!

I feel like I should put this earlier but I was distracted with the Christmas / Yuri’s potential girlfriend thing. This is at the very end of the book. Apparently Endo was influenced by the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. This interview was apparently taken in March 2023. I think it’s fairly important so I’ll wait for a proper translation before saying anything else.

✩ Comments on Donovan, Melinda, Redacted, and Sylvia!

These two pages are together and I found it significant because Endo discusses the SxF themes. (My notes are not direct translations.) Apparently:

Sylvia’s scene in Mission 20 is Endo’s favourite scene, and he was looking at materials related to war for a long time and wondered if he could make use of it. [JP below]

とてもお気に入りのシーンです。「SPY×FAMILY」の連載とは関係無し昔から戦争に関する資料は色々見ていたので、多少はこの作品にも活かせているのかなーと。

Donovan’s statement of “in the end, people will never understand each other” (rough paraphrase) is the theme of the work. And Endo wanted to create a feeling of Donovan being the final boss. He didn’t plan on arranging it from the beginning, but he thinks the Desmonds are a good contrast to the Forgers. (Does this mean the Forgers think people will understand each other?) [JP below]

作品のテーマでもあるセリフですね。少しでもドノバンのラスボス感を醸し出せればいいなーと思いながら描きました。最初から意図して配置したわけではないですが、デスモンド家はフォージャーと良い対比になっているのかなと思います

The chapters on Twilight’s past coincided with the anime so Endo thought it was a good idea to explore Twilight’s past. [JP below]

アニメが始まるタイミングなのもあって、黄昏〉という人物を掘り下げる良い機会かなと思い過去編を入れました。あまり重たくなりすぎないように、でも伝えたいことは最低限伝えられるように、自分なりにバランスを取って描いたつもりです。

Melinda is described as “friendly” (?) even though she is dignified. A positive description of Melinda… interesting. What’s also interesting is that after she learns that Yor is the mother of the child who got into a fight with Damian, she “shows interest”. Melinda, what do you want with Anya? [JP below]

ダミアンの母で、東国元首相夫人。気品に溢れつつも、気さくな性格。ヨルが息子と喧嘩したアーニャの母親と知り、興味を示している。

I personally think these two pages contain hints about the mystery of the featured characters and would love to know what it means :D

✩ Early Yor and Bond!

There’s a lot more Yor but again the image limit is constricting me. I really like the Bond designs, they’re funny and he’s just a chonky little boi :)

✩ Comments on the panel of Twilight’s head in Yor’s lap!

“珍しいイチャイチャシーンです。ヨルさんは一年中酔っ払ってればいいのに”

Which apparently means: “a rare flirting (?) scene, I wish Yor was drunk all year long”

?!??! Twiyor?!! Hello!! I cannot resist mentioning this one, this is one of my favourite Twiyor / SxF scenes. Are we gonna get more drunk Yor? More Twiyor? More flirting? I’m excited now.

I’ve reached the image limit, so here’s all for this post for now! Translations are totally welcome and again I would love to know what this all means. I’m sorry if I accidentally said misleading information, so please tell me so I can correct it. Once again, don’t take my words as complete fact. The Yuri girlfriend thing is really surprising to me haha.

So I finally caught some sleep (I woke up at 4 am, 20 minutes after the announcement, and slept a bit more after my last post announcing his passing).

First of all, this is going to be my panel: "See ya later guys, when you die we'll meet again!"

The hematoma that's mentioned in the statement announced in his passing implies a head injury (so perhaps he fell, perhaps something fell on his head, and the internal wound may have not be noticed)

The last artwork he did that was published was this new Sandland one to celebrate the upcoming series. It was revealed on March 4th, so after his passing. We don't know if it's the last artwork he did (he may have drawn this earlier and it was revealed later, who knows.

I'd also like to share some other statements, in no particular order:

Toyotaro's:

Masako Nozawa (Goku's VA) statement:

「コメントできる状況にございません」 -> "I am not in a position to comment."

(aka she was too shaken)

Nozawa update:

Oda (One Piece author) statement:

It is too early. The hole is too big. Sadness washes over me when I think that I will never see him again. I have admired him so much since I was a child, so I remember the day he called me by name for the first time. On the way home from the day you used the word "friend" for me and Kishimoto, I remember being overjoyed with Kishimoto. I also remember the last conversation we had. I was one of those who took the baton from the days when reading manga made you a fool, and he also created an era when both adults and children could enjoy reading manga. He showed us the dream that manga can go worldwide. It was like watching a hero going forward. For not only mangakas but also creators in various industries, the excitement and emotion of the time of Dragon Ball serialization must have taken root in their childhood. His existence is like a big tree. For the manga artists of our generation who stood on the same stage, Toriyama's works became more and more important to me as I got closer to the same stage. I even felt being scary. But I am just happy to see the aloof man himself again. Because we love him on a blood level. With respect and gratitude for the creative world he has left behind. I pray for his soulful rest in peace. May heaven be the joyous world he envisioned.

And Kishimoto's statement (the autho of Naruto)

To be honest, I don’t know what to write or how to write it. But right now, I want to tell Mr. Toriyama the things I always wanted to ask him and my feelings. I grew up with Mr. Toriyama’s manga, Dr. Slump in elementary school and Dragon Ball in high school. It was natural for me to have Mr. Toriyama’s manga next to me as a part of my life. Even when I was feeling down, the weekly Dragon Ball always made me forget about it. It was a salvation for me, a country boy with nothing to do. That’s how much I enjoyed Dragon Ball! When I was a college student, Dragon Ball, which had been a part of my life for so long, suddenly ended. I was overwhelmed by a tremendous sense of loss and didn’t know what to look forward to. But at the same time, it was an opportunity for me to realize from the bottom of my heart the greatness of Mr. Toriyama, who created Dragon Ball. I want to create a work like Mr. Toriyama’s! I want to be like Mr. Toriyama! As I chased after Mr. Toriyama, the sense of loss gradually disappeared. Because it was fun to create manga. By chasing after Mr. Toriyama, I was able to find new joy. Mr. Toriyama was always my compass. He was my inspiration. I may be bothering Mr. Toriyama, but I am grateful to him without permission. To me, he was a savior and a god of manga. When I first met him, I was so nervous that I couldn’t say a word. But as I met him more and more at the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize jury meeting, I was able to talk to him. I will never forget the time when I talked to him about how much fun Dragon Ball was, like a child with Oda-san, as Dragon Ball children, and how he smiled a little shyly. I just received the news of Mr. Toriyama’s death. I am overwhelmed by a tremendous sense of loss, even greater than when Dragon Ball ended… I don’t know how to deal with this hole in my heart yet. I can’t read my favorite Dragon Ball right now. I don’t even feel like I’m writing this text properly to Mr. Toriyama. Everyone in the world was still looking forward to Mr. Toriyama’s work. If one Dragon Ball wish really comes true… I’m sorry… It may be selfish, but I’m sad, Mr. Toriyama. Thank you, Mr. Akira Toriyama, for 45 years of wonderful work. And thank you very much for your hard work. To the bereaved family, I pray that you will find peace and comfort in the midst of your grief. I pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of Mr. Akira Toriyama.

And finally one of Toriyama's close friends Masakazu Katsura (Video Girl AI author) also had this to say:

I feel drained and unmotivated. I don’t want to write a comment like this. But I’ll write something. Once I start writing, I’ll have so much to say that it will probably turn into a long text, but I’ll try to keep it as short as possible. I apologize for the rambling, as my thoughts are still not in order. Looking back, all I have are fond memories of the times we spent together – whether it was visiting your house, having you stay over at mine, or going out on trips. Every time we talked on the phone, we would laugh so hard that we would get tired. You were a funny person. You were perverted, cute, sharp-tongued, and humble. We collaborated on some manga projects, which were also a lot of fun. But 99% of the time, we never talked about manga. As a manga artist, the gap between the way we saw things and our level of skill was too great, and I never really felt your greatness. I know it now. But when I was with you, I never felt it at all. That’s just the kind of person you were. That’s why I still can’t think of you as anything other than a friend, even though you were a great manga artist. Last summer, before I had surgery, you heard about it somewhere and sent me an email. It was really rare for you to send an email, and it was so full of concern for my health. We’ve been friends for 40 years, but that might have been the first time I felt such kindness from you. I thought it was going to snow. You know, you usually only talk about jokes or nonsense. What the hell, you shouldn’t be worried about other people, right? I called you a little before that, and I was feeling sick all over, so I said, “I’ll probably go first, so have a farewell party for me, Toriyama! And make sure you give a speech, because it’ll make me look good!” But you didn’t keep your promise. I really regret not calling you after you emailed me. I just can’t believe that I can’t talk to you on the phone for hours anymore. There are so many things I want to talk to you about. There are so many things I want to say. Even if you don’t care about what I have to say, you can just zone out like you always do. I just want to talk to you again. The last thing you said to me was “OK” in response to my email asking you to contact me again. That’s just not good enough. I’m so sad.

And the Dragon Quest LEGEND, Yuji Horii, too...

I am still filled with disbelief at the sudden news of Mr. Toriyama’s passing. I have known Mr. Toriyama since I was a writer for Weekly Shonen Jump. At the recommendation of my editor, Torishima-san, I decided to ask him to draw the illustrations for the game Dragon Quest when we were launching it. For over 37 years since then, he has drawn countless charming characters, including character designs and monster designs. The history of Dragon Quest is one that has been intertwined with Mr. Toriyama’s character designs. Mr. Toriyama and the late Mr. Sugiyama were longtime collaborators on Dragon Quest. I can’t believe they’re gone… I can’t find the words to express my sorrow. This is truly, truly a tragedy.

Torishima, his "evil editor" (the one the Mashirito from Dr Slump is inspired by), also put out a statement:

"The last time we worked together was on the book we published last year, 'Dr. Mashirito's Strongest Manga Technique.' In that book, 'Torishima and Toriyama Back Then' was the last manga we made together. 45 years, thank you very much. Mr. Toriyama, you were the best manga artist I have ever known."

Jackie Chan statement:

"Akira Toriyama-sensei, thank you for creating so many classics, they will always be with the world, farewell 🙏"

French president Emmanuel Macron:

the tweet reads "To Akira Toriyama and his millions of fans who grew up with him",

The authograph says "for Ma-ku-ro-n president" (to President Macron); the hand-drawn parts are the little Goku and the dragon balls surrounding him, alongside the autograph. It was drawn over a printed paper (as per custom when getting an autograph)

The date indicates it was given to him during the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Takao Koyama (screen writer for 90% of the episodes and the movies) says Toriyama was sick for over a year at this point. He himself is pretty badly sick as well.

夏のアツさを吹き飛ばす！Gフェス開催！完成披露試写会イベントレポート

この度、7月25日（火）に『Gメン』完成披露試写会を実施！岸優太、竜星涼、恒松祐里、矢本悠馬、森本慎太郎、りんたろー。、吉岡里帆、高良健吾、尾上松也、田中圭、瑠東東一郎監督の総勢11名が登壇しました！

イベントが始まると、会場では色とりどりのレーザーが飛び交い、キャストの紹介映像が上映。ザ・クロマニヨンズによる主題歌「ランラン」が鳴り響くと幕が上がり、高さ2.5mもある「G-MEN」巨大モニュメントをバックに、キャストと監督が登場しました。壇上に据えられた大階段から降りて舞台へやってくると、ド派手な演出で登場した総勢11名を前に、観客の熱気と歓声は最高潮！場内は一気にお祭りムードに！

最初に登壇者全員から自身の役紹介とともに挨拶があり、その後本編に関する質疑応答へ。1年G組の5名の仲の良さや、高良・田中・松也から見たG組メンバーの様子、癖のあるキャラクターを演じた吉岡の心境、岸から見た先輩達への印象、瑠東監督よる作品への想いや、本作の撮影秘話などが語られました。また、みんなからの無茶振りに、岸が渾身のGメンギャグを全力で披露する場面も！

続いて、フリップへ記述し質問に答えるコーナーでは＜自分が演じた役以外で演じてみたいのはどのキャラ？＞＜友情・ケンカ・恋愛と青春がギュッとつまった『Gメン』ですがズバリみなさんの青春を一言で表すと！＞というお題に対して出演者がコメントしました。

さらに、岸の呼びかけで、登壇者と会場が一体となり「この夏は、Gメン！」と掛け声をし、キャノン砲が発射！会場は大熱狂の中、イベントの幕が閉じました。

2016年、天皇陛下がサウジアラビアの副皇太子殿下を御所に招待した時のものですが、この写真を見た海外の人達の反応は… 日本の様式美を見せられた思いだ。尊敬の念を抱かざるを得ない。この写真が示唆するものは数えきれないほどに多い。｢おもてなし｣とはこういう事なのでしょう。感動しました。シンプルを追求するとエレガンスになるという好例だね。私の国では、装飾は多ければ多いほど良いという考え方。でも日本のやり方に心を奪われてしまった。すごいよね。あの空間を目にして王子は何を思ったんだろう？カーペットすらシンプル！おもてなしや親密さの表し方が真逆なんだね。正直、一本取られたって気分だ。圧倒された。ミニマリズムが核となっているのだろう。この写真がたまらなく好きな自分がいる。最低限のものしか置かれていないのに、部屋から美しさと気品が溢れている。ただひたすらに美しい… この一枚の写真は芸術だよ。 1000の言葉が込められた一枚ですね。こういった一切の無駄を省いた部屋は目に心地良い。ショッキング！あの慎み深さからは美しさすら感じられる。どうしてかは言葉では説明できない。だけどこの写真は最高だ。虚飾ってものを徹底的に排除するんだね。無駄が排除されているのは実用上の理由もあるんだよ。飾りに邪魔されず会話に集中する事ができる。この写真を見て嬉しく感じる。副皇太子殿下が、シルクやジュエリーなどの派手な装飾に頼らずとも、とても穏やかな気持ちで対談されているのが解る。古い歴史を持つ日本の皇族がスーツを着用し、新しく出来たモダンな王族が伝統的な衣装に身を包む。ものすごいコントラストだね。等々、他にも好意的なコメントが数多く寄せられました。

Happy New Year!あけましておめでとうございます！2024年だ！！！！！！！！！年末年始の風習…っていうと広すぎるけど、国どころか地域が少し違うだけでも食べるものが全然違うのすごくいいなって思うんだよな日本だとお雑煮の違いがよく話題になるような奴… リンバス世界…ってか都市でもなんかそういうのあるんだろうかクリスマス祝う風習は割と浸透してるぽいから、あの世界もシュトーレン食べたりチキン焼いたりすんのかな… 裏路地は裏路地の文化あったりすんのかな…気になる～ーーーーーーメールフォームにコメントくださった方ありがとうございました！以下お返事です。＞最近LCとLORをプレイしてめちゃくちゃハマっている者です。 pixivで2次創作を検索していた時に、よのさんの作品を見つけあまりのドツボな絵柄と内容に感動しながら～ → めちゃ嬉しい…！LCとLOR！！！！！めっちゃ面白いですもんね！！！！！ハマった方に楽しんでいただけたならばなによりです～～…本当に面白いですもんね…私もクリアした後もちょこちょこ立ち上げてやるくらい…好きです… ＞特にホドとアンジェラの漫画が大好きです、切ないながらも心が暖かくなる内容で何度も読み返しています！ → ホドとアンジェラのマンガ、読んでいただきありがとうございます。最初らへんのループあたりのアンジェラとセフィラの友人めいた関係性の衝撃が大きすぎて描いた漫画で、あの時の思い出はアンジェラの中にしか残っていないことは取り返しようがないけど、それでもこれからの思い出を作っていってほしい…し、作っていってくれるはず…で描いたのを思い出しました。読み返していただけるなんて本当嬉しいです！ありがとうございます。＞またゲームをプレイしていた時にアンジェラとマルクトの関係が何かいいな〜って思っていたので、 → うわーーっ嬉しい…！あの二人、いいですよね…いいですよね…クトジェラめっちゃ可愛いと思っています…最初にマルクトがアンジェラに真っ向から喧嘩を挑んだことに関係性発展の隙があるとみています… ＞LOR同人誌も買いたいなと思ったのですが、全て完売でDL販売もしていないとのことで少し絶望しています…。いつかDL販売やLOR総集編などを出していただけると大変ありがたいです…！！最後になりますが、よのさんの作品を読むのをこれからも楽しみにしています！！ → 同人誌にまで興味持って頂きありがたいです、それと同時に今在庫なく申し訳ない…！ DL販売も総集編も今のところ予定はないのですが、やるとしたらなんかのタイミングで再販…か、物によっては数冊手元にあるものもあるので、イベント参加するときに持っていくこともある…かもしれないです。その時はまたブログでお知らせしますね！（あとはたまにBOOTH倉庫に入れることがあるので、通知設定？してもらえるといいかもしれないです…） LCもLORも大好きなゲームなので、新しくハマられた方がいるという嬉しさににっこりしてしまいました。あとアンジェラとマルクトのCPにも触れて頂きめっちゃ嬉しかったです…！クトジェラかわいいよ… 改めて、メッセージ送ってくださりありがとうございました！

G組メンバーが男子学生を前にぶっちゃけトーク！男子学生限定試写会イベントレポート

この度、8月16日（水）に『Gメン』の公開直前イベントとして男子学生限定試写会を実施！岸優太、竜星涼、矢本悠馬、森本慎太郎、りんたろー。が登壇しました。MCを務めるりんたろー。の呼び込みで客席を通ってキャストが登場するやいなや、抽選で選ばれ集まった男子学生266人から割れんばかりの拍手が！本作の主人公・門松勝太を演じた岸は「よろしくお願いします！男の子がこれだけ集まると拍手が力強いですね。いつもとは違う空気感で楽しんでいければと思います」と挨拶しました。

本作について、男子目線で「この人のここが熱い！」と感じたポイントについて聞かれると、岸は「アクションは本当に熱かったと思います。いざアクションシーンになるとスイッチが入って、みんなの役者としてのプロ意識がみえました」と回答。竜星が「現場も暑かったよね」と言えば、すかさず矢本が「りんたろー。さんは制服もぴちぴちで」と重ねるとりんたろー。は「違うんです。あれは太ったんです。最後のシーンは撮影期間が空いたから、幸せ太りで体がデカくなってるんですよ。でも悠馬くんは作品に向けて10キロくらい増量していたのに撮影期間が空いたら、体が小さくなってるんです」と撮影の“アツい”裏話を披露。

モテるための技を聞かれると、岸は「寝る前に香水をつけます。寝て香りが落ちるとナチュラルになって。これはマリリン・モンローもやってたんですよ！」と自信ありげに回答、さらに「モテるためにかっこいい言葉を使えるようになりたくて四字熟語を覚えていて。最近だと四面楚歌、あとは滑稽とか…」とまさかの二文字の単語が飛び出すと、「こっけい！？」とキャスト一同が持ち前の天然っぷりに驚き、場内は大爆笑！森本は「自分らしくいればモテるかなって。海が好きで、高校生の時は日焼けした肌に派手な海パンを履いてましたが……モテなかったですね」と自身のエピソードを披露。りんたろー。が「寝ないやつが一番かっこいいんですよ」とコメントすると、一同から総ツッコミが。岸は「最後に四字熟語ください」と言われると「百…」と言おうとしたが、浮かばず「森羅万象とかでいいですか？」と疑問形で返し、岸ワールド全開で会場が笑いに包まれました。

イベント後半では、「こんな男子学生、何人いるかクイズ」と題して、会場の学生に挙手で答えられる質問を投げかけ、何人の手が上がるかを予想する企画を実施。1問目で敗色濃厚かと思われたりんたろー。が逆転し最も離れた数字を選んだ森本が罰ゲームとしてマル秘エピソードを披露することに。ハードルの高すぎる罰ゲームに頭を抱えた森本だったが、5人で輪になり小声で相談した後、意を決したようにステージのセンターに立ち「え～皆さん1分ほどお時間よろしいでしょうか」とトーク。「『Gメン』では1年G組の男子校ノリがたくさん出てくるんですが、プライベートでもG組メンバー5人のグループメールがありまして。そこに送られてくる内容の9割はセクシーなお姉さんの画像なんですね。そしてそれを送っているのはほとんど私という。男子校ノリで皆さんに笑いを届けていました」と森本が身を切ったエピソードを披露！全力でやり切った森本に、会場からは大きな笑いと拍手が集まりました。

いよいよ来週末公開となった本作。最後は全員が作品への想いを語り、「このメンバーじゃなきゃ出せない空気感が出せたと思います」（りんたろー。）「8月25日に公開するのでまたぜひ映画館で楽しんでください」（森本）「『Gメン』を気に入っていただけたら、この作品を皆さんの手で育ててください。お願いします」（矢本）「男なら誰しも楽しめる作品になりました。皆さんで観に行っていただけたらと思います」（竜星）と挨拶。岸は集まった男子学生たち一人一人の顔を見ながら「本当に笑えて泣けて感情を出せる、様々な要素が凝縮された映画になっています。夏の思い出として、一緒に盛り上げてくれたら嬉しいです」と座長らしく締めました。さらにフォトセッションでは男子学生達と「夏だ！青春だ！Gメンだー！！」の掛け声で会場中一体となり大盛り上がりのうちにイベントの幕が閉じました。

TumblrおよびAutomattic社のトランススタッフからのメッセージ：

私たちは、トランスジェンダー、そしてより広義でのLGBTQ+の人々がTumblrで歓迎されていると感じてもらいたいと願っています。その理由の一つは、TumblrとAutomattic社のトランスジェンダーの人々にとって、Tumblrが誰しもが受け入れられていることを感じる空間であってほしいと考えているからです。そして、Tumblrが関係者全員をサポートし、安全性を守ってくれるプラットフォームであることを望んでいます。また、Tumblrは皆さんの存在によってさらに明るく活気に満ちたものになっています。Tumblrの運営に携わっているLGBTQ+のスタッフが、この理念を守るために内部で常に戦っています。

数日前、マット・マレンウェグ（Tumblrの親会社であるAutomattic社のCEO）は、アカウント停止に関するユーザーからの問い合わせに対し、TumblrのLGBTQ+コミュニティに悪影響を与えるような回答をしました。私たちは、この質問に対するマットの反応と彼の継続的なコメントは、不当かつ有害でなものであると考えています。Tumblrのスタッフは、関係者のプライバシーや、1日に何千件もの報告をモデレートする現実的な問題など、様々な理由から、ポリシーとしてモデレーションの決定についてコメントすることはありません。このポリシーの欠点は、私たちのトラスト＆セーフティチームが行った措置に関する噂や誤った情報が、チェックされることなく簡単に広まってしまうことです。このことを踏まえ、私たちはこの状況についていくつかの異なる部分を明らかにしたいと思います：

プレドストロゲンの使用停止の現実は正確に伝えられておらず、プラットフォーム上でトランスフェミニンな人々を禁止することを狙っているように見えました。しかし、これはそうではありません。上記のリンク先の投稿で共有されたコメント例は、現実的な暴力の脅威の定義を満たしておらず、アカウント停止の決定的な要因ではありませんでした。

マットはその後、この停止によるコミュニティへの危害を認識できませんでした。マットは、TumblrやAutomattic社の運営に携わっているLGBTQ+のスタッフを代表して発言したわけではなく、私たちはこの件に関する対応を構築する際に相談を受けていませんでした。

昨年、一部のユーザーの投稿に「成熟した」、「性的なテーマ」というコミュニティ・ラベルが誤って適用されていました。投稿にコミュニティ・ラベルを貼ることを任務とする外部業者のチームが、トランス関連のコンテンツに誤ったラベルを貼るというこの大きな傾向の原因となっていました。私たちのトラスト・セーフティチームがこの問題を発見したとき（主にコミュニティからの報告のおかげです）、私たちはコミュニティラベルを適用する請負チームの能力を削除し、このようなことが再び起こらないように監視を強化しました。この件に関するスタッフの投稿では、LGBTQ+のスタッフがより透明性を高めるよう働きかけましたが、リーダーシップによって却下されました。最初の質問に対する回答で言及された契約社員の解雇は、本件とは無関係の事件によるもので、誤って本件に起因するものでした。このような誤ったレッテル貼りが行われたこと、そしてそれがTumblrのトランス・コミュニティに悪影響を及ぼしたことを遺憾に思っていま��。

トランジション・タイムラインは、コミュニティガイドラインに反しておらず、モデレーション・チームが一時停止とその後の異議申し立てについて議論する際に考慮した要素ではありません。私たちは、コミュニティガイドライン違反が含まれていない限り、トランジションやトランスボディに関連するコンテンツに対して行動を起こすことはありません。

Tumblrで性転換をした人々がトランスフォビックなコンテンツに遭遇し、偏見に満ちたユーザーと交流する経験について、私たちは皆さんの不満を理解し、共有しています。Tumblrのポリシー、そしてAutomattic社のポリシーは、言論と表現の自由を保証するために記載されています。私たちは、コミュニティガイドラインで定義されているハラスメントを禁止��ていますが、このポリシーが、LGBTQ+やその他の社会から疎外された人々に対してしばしば用いられる、より広範で有害な言論からユーザーを守るには不十分であることは承知しています。

今後、Tumblrは以下の対応をとってまいります：

ユーザーがより効果的にハラスメントから身を守れるよう、ハラスメント防止機能を優先する。

スタッフとして、ハラスメントの事例を積極的に特定し、緩和するための内部ツールをさらに構築する。

トランス・コミュニティが頻繁に使用するタグのうち、どれがブロックされているかを見直し、来週から使用できるようにする。

私たちは、このような事態を招いたことを申し訳なく思っており、私たちの声をもっと聞いてもらい、今後このようなことが再び起こらないよう、積極的に戦っています。私たちは、Tumblrユーザーとしてこのような事態に対処しなければならないことが困難であること、特にすでに頻繁に標的とされ、嫌がらせを受けているコミュニティのメンバーとして困難であることを身をもって理解しており、信頼を取り戻すには時間がかかることは承知しています。

私たちは、私たちの懸念や反対意見を表明する場が与えられたことに感謝し、マットの（そしてAutomattic社の）表現の自由への強いコミットメントがそれを促進してくれたことに感謝しています。

私たちは、Tumblrを私たち全員にとって安全なものにするために戦い続けます。
